Eddie Murphy has been undoubtedly proven the father of Melanie B’s baby by a DNA test.
Murphy dumped Mel B when she was four months pregnant by heartlessly telling a Dutch television interviewer that it was presumptuous to assume the baby was his. He was cheating on Mel with Tracey Edmonds at the time, and poor pregnant Melanie had to find out that her relationship was over from friends who saw the interview. Murphy wasted no time stepping out with Edmonds, and when asked how long she was dating Murphy, Edmonds gave an amount of time that was definitely earlier than his breakup by proxy with Mel B.
Now Murphy has been declared the father of Angel Iris Murphy Brown by irrefutable DNA testing, which he won’t be able to weasel out of:
The results of the DNA test, which Murphy took on June 11, were received by Brown on Thursday afternoon, says rep Liza Anderson.
“He’s the baby’s father, it’s official,” says a source close to Brown. “The baby is undoubtedly, 110 percent his.”
Of Brown, the source said, “There was no doubt in people’s minds anyways, least of all hers. It wasn’t a surprise to her. She knew all along.”

The article goes on to say that Murphy has never seen his daughter and refused to take a paternity test by an earlier request in May. It does not seem that this paternity test was court-ordered, according to news reports, and may be more likely by girlfriend request. Murphy’s girlfriend Tracey Edmunds was quoted in April before the baby was born saying that if Scary is having Murphy’s baby as determined by paternity test that he’ll take responsibility.
