Kit Harington has been seen in Belfast. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?! Why would Kit Harington be in Belfast right now? Game of Thrones largely films in Belfast (most of Kings Landing and The Wall scenes are filmed there) and the cast has been arriving in Belfast over the past week to begin filming on Season 6. There doesn’t seem to be any other reason why a Game of Thrones actor would be in Belfast right now other than to work. Right? Right.
Twitter has been blowing up for a few days with alleged sightings of Kit, but the GoT fansite Watchers on the Wall posted some exclusive photos – photos that look like a fan creeped on Kit at the airport – which you can see here. That’s definitely our favorite dourfaced Kit Harington. Oh, Kit. You magnificent bastard of Winterfell!! You really do know nothing.
So, basically, Jon Snow is in Season 6. I don’t know why the showrunners and actors couldn’t find another way to talk about this, even if it was just playing the “Is he dead? We don’t know!” game. Instead, everyone was going on and on about how Jon Snow is deader than dead, totally dead, crazy dead and Kit even lied straight out and said that he wasn’t going to be filming anything for season 6. Of course, right after he said all that, people began to wonder why he still had Jon Snow’s hair.
So let me ask you – are you even mad about this? Or are you just thrilled that Jon Snow will be in Season 6 in some capacity?

I’ve never watched a single episode of Game of Thrones and even I didn’t believe that Jon Snow was dead (Kaiser taught me everything I know about GoT) 🙂

I just re-read the first book and I totally forgot that Hodor is actually called Walder and is called Hodor because that’s all he’s saying. Now I believe that he might play a bigger role.

Watchers on the Wall is a fantastic website! It’s great for getting all the latest GoT news, plus there very careful about monitoring book spoilers for the show-only watchers.
I like that they tried to spring a surprise on viewers! What’s the point of having a rebirth if we’re informed upfront. I’m thrilled I’ll get to gaze at his moody mug for another season

But, he will be reborn. Probably as a Targaryen.

Oh, I like where you are going with this. I read the books and just assumed he survived… Martin would never kill Jon freakin Snow off, amirite? But this never occured to me, Jon Snow, a Targaryen? Too good.

I haven’t read the books but Melisandre is clearly there to resurrect him. He is not dead dead.

Ha they hadn’t a hope of keeping that secret, people were dying to spot him. He should have even tried to disguise himself by wearing non skinnies and a non weepy face. No one would have recognised him.
(I also read there was a tweet about Jerome Flynn was seen flying into Belfast with Rory McCann….I really hope it’s true but it was probably trolling)
I don’t think they necessarily lied when they said Jon Snow is dead. I think he is dead dead but Mel will revive him, ala Thoros and Beric. If they weren’t going to do LSH, then that scene where Thoros resurrects Beric was put in for this reason. We can’t have Mel waking Jon back up with nothing to have established that it can happen. They obviously don’t care too much to keep it a secret either. There are ways to move covertly, private planes, having Kit not go out in public and wigs. I don’t think anyone is going to be super shocked when he returns.
No, they fooled no one. But you can’t blame them for trying.
I have to say I am very bitter and hostile about the long wait between seasons. How could they do this to us?

People who aren’t delighted with this should just watch Kit place himself in time out in “Seven Days in Hell” instead. You will be delighted whether you want it or not. Indubitably.

I might be willing to consider that maybe Kit is just filming some kind of “funeral” scene if he hadn’t been so specific about “not filming anything” for season 6. But yes, it is very obvious Kit will be in season 6. However, Jon Snow will not be. Just my take on things.
OMG this just made my day. Yes I know he’s not that likely to be dead dead, but every little bit of confirmation piques my interest.
I’m not sure why people are so hopeful Melisandre will resurrect Jon Snow. The people who come back are no longer like their predecessors in this world and you need to beware of magic (ie Khal Drogo, Catelyn Stark which is not seen on the show, the White Walkers) and bad things happen. I don’t really want zombified Jon Snow which is probably what would happen if he comes back to life (and I really don’t want him to). He could be filming flashbacks (which would tie in with Tree God Bran’s storyline for those of you who have read the books).
There’s a red priest who brings a man back over and over again. As far as I know he’s alive and not a wandering death body. When Catelyn died, she lied in water for weeks I think. That’s a whole different thing than resurrecting someone who just died.
Actually George R.R. Martin wanted to show that when a character is brought back from the dead, they are not the same as they once were. Sadly, the TV show never really established Beric Dondarrion (the guy who the red priest keeps bringing back to life) but in the books, Martin made a point of depicting Beric in the first book as being prideful and ostentatious. After he’s brought back, he’s a much grimmer, serious and miserable character.
I think when Jon’s resurrected, he’s not going to be the same person and I’m excited for it. I know for many, he’s the closest thing to a hero, but I’m excited to tropes get thrown out the window and see some nuances added to the character.
I hope he’s not dead, but is the show going another way from the books? From what I know even Martin stopped and Jon Snow’s life/death situation is still a mistery.. so are they going to make it up or what?
