Yesterday, I shared my theory about the angle the tabloids have when reporting on Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. My theory is that the stories get worse when Angelina is working, as a way to “punish” a working mother. Some disagreed, some thought there was some validity. The tabloid covers this week only seem to validate it, though.
Brangelina isn’t the top cover story on Star Magazine this week, but they’re the sidebar story – talking about how The Brange has already split. OK! Magazine’s cover takes a more pragmatic approach. Their cover is called “Brad’s marriage ultimatum”. The basic gist is that Brad is, at this point, a “single parent” and that if Angelina wants more babies, Brad wants Angie to put a ring on it.
Superstar parents Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are the world’s most glamorous couple — but one thing has been missing from their seemingly perfect lives: A marriage certificate.
Now a friend of the pair tells OK! that Brad, 45, has issued Angie, 33, an ultimatum: “Brad’s told her, ‘Marry me, or it’s over.’ ”
What’s more, another source says, Brad told Angie — who hopes to add to their six children — “he definitely wants to get married before they have any more babies.”
Why is Brad putting his foot down? While his Oscar-winning baby-mama frantically pursues film and humanitarian work, he’s essentially been a single dad — and he’s “stressed out,” a friend of Brad tells OK!.
Both Brad and Angie — now holed up at NYC’s posh Waldorf Astoria hotel while she films the spy thriller Salt — are even too fried for sex. “Their relationship is so out of kilter, he believes marriage is the only thing that will bring it back around.”

Because marriage has helped so many people’s sex lives? Right. I’ll buy that Brad is stressed out, but I really think the two of them worked out this marriage issue a long time ago. Although while Angie was promoting Changeling, she did mention that at some point, they might get married. It was probably just lip service, though.

I dont get why people cant accept some people dont WANT to be married. It does not take marriage and children to complete peoples lives. It might if you’ve always wanted that, then more power to you really. But if they dont want marriage, they dont need marriage, why make it seem like some stigma that they are “incomplete” with out rings and a piece of paper? Same for Jen down there in the little box. If she doesnt want kids that doesnt make her less then a woman. But to satisfy their middle aged single mom crowd they claim jen is with child… pish posh.
P.S. sorry for the rant.

I know, right? Not every couple wants to be married.
Besides, I think Angelina wears the pants and dresses in that relationship. If anything, if she wanted to be married to Brad, he’d be all for it. Not the other way around.

i agree with this, but I also think when the tabs have absolutely nothing they take things from posters on blogs and turn it into a story. Their readers don’t like Angelina so she’s always the bad guy in the story. I think a lot of the Angie haters are jealous because she’s with their dream guy.

Anyway, Angelina got him to adopt her children. I think if she wanted to be married to Brad…they would be married.

Oh please Brad is not a drunk. Let that lie go first. I find it interesting that whenever they are not seen the crazy stories come out of the woodwork. When Angie had the twins the breakup stories started.. she was depressed, Brad wanted her in a hospital, she was kicking him out.. then they show up at the Changeling premier looking fab. and what happened to the stories then, they faded away. Same as now. The problem is no one knows anything about them. We know what Brad/Angie want us to know. We see them when they want to be seen. So I don’t read or buy those mags. They know nothing. Since neither has a publicist the mags don’t even have that as a source. So they print lie after lie. It can’t be both stories.. they are separated and getting married. Which is it. Ohhhh I know. NEITHER.

Getting married will only complicates things. Right now if thing don’t work each can go their separate ways and he’ll only have to deal with visitation rights for the kids.

usually the stories end up being true, jess and Nick denied trouble then, DIVORCE, Brad and Jen denied trouble, Brad denied his affair with Ang, guess what there was trouble and an affair with Ang.

“I think a lot of the Angie haters are jealous because she’s with their dream guy.” Bwahahahahahahaha!!! My coffee almost went up my nose when I snorted and laughed at that comment. Even in his finest days, he wasn’t much to write home about – Somewhat pretty face, stupid guy.
I doubt the details in this story, but Lila makes a very good point. We’ll just have to wait and see.
I have to admit to a touch of amusement at the posters who jump on here and rant and rattle around about how much the tabloids can’t be believed, what falseness about the Brange – how dare they?, etc… Same posters are the first people to castigate J Aniston for similar type stories. Only THEN can the tabloids and anonymous sources be believed

This is my first post here and I agree with many of the comments. What I find really funny is in one week Angie is looking for couples counseling, while all the rags are saying she is so tired because of the hours of work makes me wonder when would there be time, I guess the therapist would have to work 24 hours a day and be on call for Jolie and Pitt when ever they needed counseling and could spend an hour for a session, boy that would really make Hollywoods most beautiful couple famous. Now we will move into next weeks rags, Brad is saying no to counseling marriage is a must and he makes and says they will not have anymore children until they wed and they even lead the reader to believe he will leave her if she does not comply with his demand, this is April 2009. My opinion is this is not how you get a loved one to the Altar if there is any truth behind it. I want to believe that women would still like the man to take them to a beutiful setting just the two of them and he gets down on one knee and says I love you, I want to have more children with you, You are my Best Friend, I believe in our love, then he pulls out the box and says would you spend the rest of my life with me, together. He might get a better response. And now here is some truth, Well in December 2008 when Angie was not being seen much after giving birth to twins 4-5 months before and Brad was working. The magzines said Brad wants couples counseling and Angelina has purposed to Brad she wants a Christmas Wedding she tells Brad the kids want it and she will not have more babies either way until they wed. Now again we could do the romantic thing even if it is Angies purposal, just replace Brads name with Angies. That how the rags do it. Funny how things change in 3-4 months while Angie is working.
