Star: Tori Spelling is anorexic because her mom stresses her out

starmagazine
A few days ago we reported on Candy Spelling’s promotional tour for her book, Stories from Candyland, and her claims that she’s never met her granddaughter, she doesn’t know where Tori lives, and that she doesn’t really get along with Tori’s husband Dean.

This week’s Star Magazine cover claims that Tori Spelling is so stressed out over her mother that she’s dropped to “a frail 98 lbs.” There are fears that Tori might be anorexic, but the picture on the cover looks photo-shopped to me. Still, even if the picture is computer-generated, Tori has gotten very slim lately. Star claims there is a “blood feud” between the two women, but that Tori is afraid of the family secrets Candy might reveal in the book.

Tori Spelling has dropped to a frail 98 lbs. — and Star has learned that her mother is to blame!

In our April 13 issue — on sale today — we report that Candy Spelling, who the actress has been estranged from since December 2007, has ramped up the blood feud between mother and daughter by spilling many of Tori’s intimate secrets in a new tell-all, and the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum is so upset by it, she can’t even bring herself to eat.

“It’s not good,” warns an insider. “Tori’s so stressed over her mom’s new book, she has no appetite but is still exercising every day. Her friends are all worried that she may be anorexic. She’s now down to a size zero.”

Candy’s book, Stories from Candyland is revenge for Tori’s own 2008 memoir, sTori Telling, in which she ripped into her mother for a little of everything. In Candyland, Candy rebuts a lot of Tori’s claims and paints her as spoiled and ungrateful.

From Star Magazine

I find a lot of this really sleazy, and I find myself more and more being on Team Tori. If her mother is really vindictive enough to attack her daughter so publicly, Tori really must have had a difficult childhood. I don’t mean “difficult” in an abusive way, just that Candy sounds like a real piece of work.

Here are photos of Tori out on 3/19/09, which is when the picture for the Star cover was taken. Credit: WENN.com. Thanks to CoverAwards for the Star Cover.

  2. BOGART4017 says:

Generally if we havent been sexually abused we tend to “get over” our childhood. I dont know what homegirl has been through but its time to grow up. You have kids of your own already. And mommy dearesst is too damn old to be acting like this. Take a two week out of town vacation and get all that hollywood outcha system!!
Oh, by the way–FIRST!!!!(been dying to say that!)

There is a difference between becoming thin because of stress and suffering from anorexia. God, I hate how the word anorexia is being throw around so easily like its an easily contagious illness. For someone to become anorexic does not happen overnight, it is far more complicated then that.

  4. HEB says:

I figured she got that thin so they’d finally let her be on the new 90210

  5. mel says:

Why would anyone want to air their family secrets in public is beyond me. But I did hear the riff between them is over money. So sad.

  6. Hieronymus Grex says:

No honey, you’re anorexic because you don’t eat and your body is 60% plastic and botox solution now.

  7. Sauronsarmy says:

I love how these tabloids go from Jessica Simpson being fat and now Tori OMGZ ANOREXIC!!!!1 Idiots.

  8. aleach says:

ok, off topic but i am giggling like a little goofball over here looking at that picture of robert pattinson. bwaaahahahaha! that is so great.

  9. Cinderella says:

I’m not on either side, but I think it’s bullshit that Tori is blaming her mother for the dramatic weight loss.

It wouldn’t surprise me that this has something to do with her involvement with the new 90210. She’s around all of these young stick figures so she’s not going to be outdone.

  10. cabrona says:

She lost all the weight because of the new 90210 show. I think she looks bad. Her mom needs to get over all that crap that went on in the past. Her daughter is an adult now with kids of her own. I doubt that if mom showed up at her door to visit she would be turned away. A lot of mother/daughters go through a rough patch during the teen years. GET OVER IT

  11. kiki says:

she is over 30 years of age with a husband and kids she needs to get over her mother issues. and the reason she is pissed off at her mother is all about $$$$$ her father didnt leave a whole lot to what Tori was expecting

  12. Samantha says:

I have no idea what went on between her mom and her, but I know from experience family issues don’t go away because people who have no concept scream “just get over it!” Money doesn’t buy happiness, and I am sure it probably has less to do with money and more to do with personal issues. If she wants to keep distance, more power to her. Eventually she will come around, or she wont. Her decision. But the weight loss probably has more to do with her 90210 thing.

  13. photo jojo says:

Exactly Samantha. I wish people who had loving, stable parents would just GET OVER IT! I mean, come on! Talking about how great they are and how they supported you, jeez, you’re an adult quit rubbing out faces in it!

  14. Polkasox says:

Couldn’t have said it better Samantha.

@ BOGART4017 – tell that to the thousands of women who have been beaten as children, don’t know what a real relationship is supposed to look like, and are in an abusive relationship. Obviously this doesn’t apply to Tori – but generalizing and saying that only sexual abuse leaves permanent issues is just plain ignorant.

  15. poopoo says:

I think some of you should red a little. First read Children of the Lie. Then read adult Children of Narcissists. And then come back and voice your educated opinion. You have no clue. And Narcissism is very hard to understand when you are a product of it. Because everything is A LIE. And Narcissists are very fake in public.Only those who know them in private get it. And only those whom the narcissists is using as a devalue valve truly get it. Go along with them and support their narcissism and your good to go.

  16. j. ferber says:

I agree that Tori lost the weight for 90210, but she also saw a good opportunity to get in a dig at her mother. It’s Mommy’s fault I’m so thin! I am no fan of either woman, but Tori wrote her nasty book first. I don’t think her mom should have retaliated in that way, though.

  17. OXA says:

Candy has no control over what Tori chooses not to put in her mouth and vice versa. They need to stop blaming each other, get over and get on with their lives.

  18. ChristinaT says:

why is her mother writing a tell all? does she need money? are the billions of dollars not enough?

  19. Leandra says:

Tori is NOT ugly. I saw her in person at a book signing and along with having gorgeous big brown eyes, she was very nice….what a mean comment. I suppose you’re just the opposite? Or perhaps you’re ugly too and putting others down makes you feel more attractive.

  20. michiru says:

It must be nice to be that slender and beautiful. I should try to lose some weight.

  21. Peter says:

Are you kidding – she looks great! These are the first pictures that I have ever seen of her in which she looks fantastic!!!! I much prefer the new Tori!

  22. Shelly Shellz says:

    Leandra:

    She’s HIDEOUS…..get over it

  23. Sara says:

    I don’t think it’s a eating disorder. I think it’s plain old stress.
