Azealia Banks spit, punched a man in the face & hurled obscenities on a plane

Azealia Banks is such an unpleasant mess, which is the only way I can describe her, other than “self-defeating.” She’s an insanely talented rapper, yes, but she disses everyone and cannot stand American culture. Banks regularly tweets awfully mean things from her Twitter account, and no one is immune from her wrath, especially those who commit the ultimate sin of being “basic. She’s full of hatred for men, women, and maybe puppies too. I’m kidding about that last part, but you never know.

Banks posted this photo ^^^^ of herself on an airplane yesterday. She did so in the wake of video footage that showed her going ballistic on a flight attendant after calling someone a “f***ing f***ot.” TMZ has NSFW video footage available here. They say Banks freaked out at a French couple because they were blocking her from exiting the airplane. The couple was retrieving their luggage from an overhead bin. Banks spit at the man before punching him in the face. (What the…?) Then a flight attendant approached, grabbed Banks’ luggage, and tried to diffuse the situation. Banks, of course, yanked back, and then someone picked up their iPhone to record Banks yelling double-f-words.

Surprisingly, the French couple told police they didn’t want to press criminal charges, although Banks deserved some sort of penalty. Here’s how Banks explained herself on Twitter:

Of course, Banks then added, “Now you all can sit here in your fake outrage and discuss this amongst yourselves !! I’m headed to the beauty parlor! SIYONARA MOTHERF***ERS.” She’s showing no remorse, which is exactly what people have come to expect from Azealia Banks. She loves to sling verbal assaults at people, and now she’s progressed to physical ones as well. Girlfriend needs some intervention.

Here’s a blurry photo of Banks in action on the Delta plane.

    Girl get help. Quick.

    • Loopy says:

She needs deliverance, this is not normal behavior at any level.

      • Babalon says:

        Exactly. Fix it, Jesus. Amen.

      • Mo Comments Mo Problems says:

Amen! She definitely needs a deliverance!!! Why is she so angry? She is so full of anger and unhappiness, which is destroying herself. Somebody needs to face the consequences.

      • xmas in july says:

I’m pretty sure there is some severe mental health at play here. If that’s the case, I hope she gets treatment soon.

      • Greenieweenie says:

Did she grow up in poverty? If so, I’m betting
childhood trauma. I used to teach at schools in poor neighborhoods and the kids just have so much holding them back–things like just learning how to talk to each other civilly.

Although she clearly has issues with men, too.

    • Scotchy says:

She needs it, she has suffered abuse as a child and well is bi polar. No one on her team has been able to successfully get her help. All the folks I know that have worked with her all said the same thing. She is incredibly talented but is mentally ill and has PTSD from a crazy abusive childhood. So whenever I read these stories I just feel sorry for her and angry that no one around her forces her to get help… it’s a real shame 🙁

      • Elisa the I. says:

that makes sense. I was thinking of borderline. Hope she gets real help at some point.

      • JenniferJustice says:

I feel sorry for the unwitting victims of her verbal and physical assaults. I do not feel sorry for her. She may have had a horrible childhood, but that is no excuse for her, clearly an adult now, to continue the pattern. And I sick and tired of her tirades about racism in America and America in general. Go back to where you came from if you hate this country so much. I would have respect for that, but not for taking advantage of success here while demeaning our nation and culture. What good does it do to constantly slam this nation for the way she perceives people act, and yet she is the one behaving so offensively and childish. I have no patience for her.

      • Bread and Circuses says:

She is so amazingly talented and gorgeous, and such an awful, violent person. I’m almost relieved to hear she has mental health issues (not that I’d wish that on anyone) because at least that’s a *reason* for her to behave this way that isn’t simply her being an enormous jerk.

Although I suspect she has to be *both* mentally ill and a jerk to spit on and punch someone for being in her way during a plane debarkation. Because honestly, EVERYONE is in your way when you’re trying to get off a freakin’ plane.

    • Simone says:

      What an ignorant tool!!!

  2. Matador says:

She seems lovely. And by “lovely,” I mean completely vile.

  3. Sayrah says:

I seriously have no idea who this awful person in is. Is I work with gay people the new my best friends are black?

    • Snazzy says:

Me neither, but boy does she ever sound like a horrid person

    • doofus says:

and it doesn’t matter if she’s bi, her brother trans. etc..

she use that word in a derogatory way, as AN INSULT. so SHE must view that word as an insult.

      awful, horrid…good words for her.

      • qwerty says:

Oh you don’t get it. She doesn’t hate gay people. She just hates women…..

        http://www.advocate.com/politics/media/2015/02/06/azealia-banks-even-if-i-am-homophobe-so-wat
“”A f*ggot is not a homosexual male,” she tweeted. “A f*ggot is any male who acts like a female. There’s a BIG difference.””

      • V4Real says:

Unfortunately she is somewhat right if you check the origin of that word and it’s earlier meaning.

      • Sea Dragon says:

One of my close friends calls people f*ggots once in a while. The first time I heard him I said “But you’re gay!” He had to explain there’s a difference in meaning.

      • V4Real says:

Even in some of Eminem’s rap songs he throws that word around a lot. If you pay attention to the before and after lines you will see that he’s talking about heterosexual men, not gay men. Remember the lyric from “Without Me”. directed at Moby. “You 36 year old bald headed f-g, bl-w me. He’s not saying Moby is gay, He’s saying he’s acting like a girl. Not that this makes it any better but I’m just explaining the meaning in which he was using the word.

      • Neah23 says:

Where the word originated from doesn’t matter because it’s taken on a negative or hateful meaning .

Just like the N word actually means ignorant/stupid , B*tch means female dog or even how gay means to be happy. All of these words just like F*ggot have taken on new meaning and and some cases negative meaning.

This is what Banks does to excuse her behavior she make excuses for her racist, homophobic behavior. There is no doubt that she was definitely calling that man a F*ggot in a hatful manner.

    • Joh says:

      She hires gay people?

  4. Bethie says:

Who is this terrible brat and why does anyone care?

  5. Alexandra says:

Oh my God, aren’t her 15 minutes of fame up?

“Banks spit at the man before punching him in the face.”

    WHAT.
    IN.
    THE.
    BLUE.
    HELL??????

  6. Junior says:

I think it’s ironic that people who thought she was cool and edgy when she expressed hatred for one group of people (Americans and particularly white Americans) are now taken aback when she’s expressing hatred for another group of people (LGBTQIA+). She’s just a hateful person, folks. She’ll eventually work her way over to someone you like and respect.

    • Sayrah says:

What did she say then? I don’t know who she is

    • Cynthia says:

exactly. now people are seeing her for what she is. people thought it was cool that she ‘called out’ Beyoncé on her skin bleaching (which she obviously doesn’t do) but now its different. this woman is vile and I’ll keep saying it.
sorry my caps key is broken

      • Desi says:

You clearly didnt see how quickly she started to backtrack on the Beyonce digg. She went on a frenzied tweeting spree about how alleging bleaching isnt shade since bleaching is no different from tanning. She kept claiming that its equvalent to relaxing or weaving hair and that she was merely making “an observation”. Something must have spooked her into backing away coz thats not her style.

And yeah, Beyonce like many of us lighter skinned girls, tans. I am darker now than I was at the beginning of the year. And if you throw certain light on me, I look white. But of course theres always a sistah around to “put me in me proper place” by accusing me of skin bleaching. Colorism – Try it. Its fun.

      • Crumpet says:

Oh my Desi. It comes from all quarters doesn’t it?

      • Cynthia says:

oh desi, I wish I could tan like you and Beyoncé too but I spend 3/4 of my time in my country Nigeria. it’s always hot here. I hate it but I have to use some skin lightening lotion when I return to the states cos its a sad world. she had no reason to say Beyoncé bleaches, the woman has freckles for crying out loud and we’ve known her forever. I wonder why she backtracked. any conspiracies? I’m here for some gossip

      • stinky says:

these pills… are they real? and do they actually WORK? I cant believe I thought the Beyoncé thing was a joke. I know about skin bleach creams to get age spots off of your hands & stuff but had no idea about pills. seriously.

      • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

This though, it irks me people were praising her up and down for calling Beyonce out when she was the one who was willing to work with the woman in the first place. So the supposed skin bleaching didn’t bother her then.

The truth is EVERY interaction Banks has with people is like what happened on this plane. The second it’s not to her liking or she feels annoyed she lashes out verbally (and now physically) it’s sad people keep mistaking genuine mental issues for edginess.

    • littlestar says:

Yeah, I’m with you on that. The last article I remember reading about her on here, some commenters were laughing and saying good for her. Her behaviour wasn’t funny then and it certainly isn’t funny now.

Banks seems to be a deeply troubled AND a very hateful person. She’s nasty and is unbalanced and bigoted. She’s hateful to everyone, but I’d wager a guess that the person she seems to hate the most is herself.

I don’t find anything funny about her behaviour or Twitter. That French couple should have pressed charges, maybe Banks would finally get some help.

      • Cran says:

I like her music and feel she offers quite a bit of legitimate commentary.

Also feel to my core this is a deeply angry woman who lacks self love and self respect. From the little I know of her upbringing I’m not certain where she would have learned.

      • bellenola says:

I think she just enjoys the attention- positive or negative.

No one would be talking about her without all these antics.

    • Zwella Ingrid says:

LOL on your comment Junior. You are right on. This girl is trash.

    • Josefa says:

Woah, “edgy and cool”‘? Were we reading the same threads? I think it’s interesting and curious Azealia is so willing to offend and come across as flat-out hateful and bigoted in the age of social media and PC outrage, where people are forced to apologise for the most mundane jokes. I think it’s curious she does all of this showing her face and name to the world instead of using the anonymity twitter gives you. I don’t recall any comments defending her statements at all. At most, I think she’s got a pretty thick skin and quite some nerve to do this things, which doesn’t mean at all they aren’t objectionable.

Is this an attempt at victimizing white people here or am I not reading this properly?

    • lila fowler says:

She is racist and hates white people. Now we know that she is homophobic as well. What a hateful, disgusting human being.

  7. SypherMomma says:

Ugh, as if her words weren’t terrible enough. Growing up I was always told that spitting on someone was the ultimate show of disrespect. She seems ill, I must admit the only thing I truly know about her is that she’s constantly picking fights (sometimes justifiable)

    • Luca76 says:

Actually spitting in someone’s face on its own is technically assault. I really wish that couple had pressed charges.

      • SypherMomma says:

Im really surprised they didn’t press charges, hopefully she gets help for her anger issues. Very troubling and sad to see an adult behaving in such a way.

      • Aussie girl says:

Yes spitting is absolutely vile. I also never get when people try to stand and get out of the plane quickly ( besides connecting flights), we all want to get out and have had enough but just clam down.

      • qwerty says:

Them being French is what saved her imo. It’s a pretty American thing to press charges or sue for being punched…

      • Zwella Ingrid says:

It is assault with bodily fluids, I believe.

      • Josefa says:

        @qwerty

Yeah. Pressing charges involves a lot of money and time for just being spat on and punched. Not saying this is a pleasant situation, and I’d put Azealia in her place right there. But the whole legal process would ruin their vacations a lot more than the spit itself.

      • Other Kitty says:

I read somewhere that the couple said they were going on vacation in America, and they didn’t want to ruin their vacation by getting involved in a legal battle. I guess they thought it was too much trouble. They sound like decent people, and I’m really sorry they had to start their vacation here in this way.

  8. Giddy says:

Someday she’ll attack the wrong person and they’ll smash her pretty face. Then we’ll see who wants to press charges. Rageaholic!

    • Alexandra says:

I would totally sue her ass for this. She PUNCHED him. IN THE FACE. And they didn’t press charges. She got sooo lucky!

      • Shambles says:

She punched him in the face and then she f*cking tweeted a picture of herself smiling and bragging about the whole thing! She intentionally created this situation. She obviously wanted the attention. She obviously wanted the opportunity to play the victim. It’s disgusting, and she’s terrible. Just a ragey, hateful person. You don’t get to claim you were being profiled based on your minority status while trying to justify spewing slurs that are hurtful to another minority group in the same breath. Endless facepalm.

  9. lower-case deb says:

in the TMZ video, her luggage was held hostage? i don’t understand.

btw, every other tweet of hers i’ve read is always full of rage. why? i imagine it’s such a stressful life to be mad all the time?

i hope it’s just a front. like a “brand” –> like a “grumpy old man”, “klutzy Mr Beanish person” kind of brand… and not so ragey in ‘real life’ i mean to her real friends family and coworkers. i can’t imagine living with rage 24/7

    • Livealot says:

I don’t understand either. I think the passenger next to her was rude and she snapped back worse than necessary. Therefore the flight attendant held her bags probably to investigate the “assault”. Some people just have the energy to fight every battle that comes their way. The rude guy was wrong but not every insult deserves a level 10 SnapBack.

      • Anna says:

Yeah…I’m not condoning or excusing her behavior at all, but honestly, the amount of daily overt and micro-aggression that black women in particular have to deal with is insane. No one who isn’t a BW would want to believe it, and we all know (or choose to ignore) the truth about the “Nicki-Minaj-ification” of BW where any response to this constant barrage of racist and sexist b.s. is immediately considered to be “angry black woman” syndrome. I have been treated rudely in every public situation you could name, as have most people of color, especially black women, for who both race and gender are cause for being a target. The fun is that today’s discrimmination is often very much on the DL so that it’s hard to identify and people get away with it.
So while I don’t agree with her becoming abusive, we need to understand that it might have been a moment where she just snapped, was done for the day. We have all had those moments where it’s like, how much more of this b.s. can I take? At my job, at the grocery store, on my way home, etc. Either singled out for some covert racist, sexist b.s. or completely ignored/passed over like you don’t even exist. And as someone who has been part of LGBTQIA+ community for decades, I can tell you that that community is no less racist or sexist than any other. It is still all about white male privilege. And gay white men have been some of the most racist towards me, overtly and offensively. I chalk it up to the fact that they 1) have WM privilege 2) don’t care about being nice because I have nothing they want (don’t want to bone me given my gender and not interested in my race beyond “hey girl”).

This is some real stuff. Again, I do not condone her behavior but there are realities to what BW experience in the world, and dismiss it or not, we know it’s true.

  10. Ronda says:

what does anyones sexuality in her close circle have to do with her antics?

edit: ah forget about it, i didnt catch the slur. thats really the “i have a black friend” excuse.

  11. DanaG says:

Those people did no one any favors by not pressing charges. Azalea will now think she has a free pass to hit and abuse people at will. This is not going to end well. She really isn’t that famous to act this way they probably had any idea she was famous.

    • Honeybea says:

I understand what you are saying however if I spent thousands of dollars to come to America on vacation, I would not want to spend half my time at the police station etc.

      • K says:

Me either or deal with the media. Delta should have put her on the no fly list that would have done a hell of a lot more damage and then these pore people could have enjoyed their vacation.

      • doofus says:

K, this might not be the end of it. even if the couple doesn’t press charges, Delta can ban her from their airline even if she’s not on the no fly list. and they just might.

      • Josefa says:

Yeah. I find it weird people are surprised they didn’t press charges. Idk how American law works, but if this happened in my country I deffo wouldn’t do it. That would mean spending a lot of time and money, and still being involved with this woman in a way. Just let it go and you’ll be over it by tomorrow morning.

    • InvaderTak says:

Except that she wouldn’t have been given a lesson she would just have been given more “cred” as a victim in her own mind. She managed to make the flight attendant racist by the way she handled her bags, imagine what she’d call the couple. It doesn’t make it right, but there’s no way to get through to her. They probably just want it to go away.

    • Jessica says:

Exactly Josefa. Pressing charges is actually quite a drawn out process, a lot of people seem to think it’s as easy as telling the police you want to press charges and then walking away. It would be a huge drama for a vacationing couple to follow through on and would cost them a lot of money.

I don’t know anyone who’d bother pressing charges over something like this. If she’d broken the guys nose or something, then sure, but as it is it really wouldn’t be worth the effort.

  12. Nancy says:

Oh the hate is alive and real. Someone is pms’ing I had the flight from hell last week and believe me Miss Azealia, no one was handing me a spritzer. I can feel her sense of privilege through my phone.

    • qwerty says:

      ” Someone is pms’ing ”

Someone’s being a misogynist… she’s out of control. This is not how women normally act, even when they have PMS.

  13. NewWester says:

Azelia, don’t mention other minorities, or groups to somehow defend your actions. You are just a rude and nasty human being. Also I am gathering from the post you must have been flying coach. You can’t be that successful a rapper if you can’t fly First Class

    • Nancy says:

      Haha…can’t fly first class…even I can.

    • Palapa says:

Just FYI, she was probably in first class, several articles mentioned her seat was 6A or B which is typically the last row in first class, it’s usually my favorite seat. For the record, I would’ve laid that bitch out if she had spit on me.

      • funcakes says:

Trust me she know who to F with. The couple probably was very passive and she knew it.
She would have shut the F up if it was Serena Willams or Pink. They would have shoved her in the over head baggage area.

    • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

Nope, she’s one of the black artists who uses blacks as a shield and a spear. When she wants our money or wants to complain about something suddenly we’re all best friends. When the opposite is true we’re every dirty word in the book.

  14. Lindy79 says:

Cause yall KNOW, that they would’ve politely handed a white woman her bags and a spritzer. #whatever

Eh, no I’m pretty sure that wouldn’t happen if she spat at and punched someone in the face while shouting homosexual insults (allegedly)

    • Kitten says:

Right? LOL. This isn’t about racism, Azaelia FFS. She’s lucky as f*ck that those people didn’t press charges.

Such a shame because she is incredibly talented yet so, SO nasty.

      • Lindy79 says:

Its annoyed me to be honest, as I feel it takes away from the genuine and real issues with race and people’s civil and human rights being violated because of their colour.
Oh I’ll act like a twat but then scream racism when I’m called out. Nah it doesn’t work like that.

      • funcakes says:

She should spit in suge knights face. I would have a box of pop corn for that interaction

  15. chloe says:

Good God if she doesn’t want to wait to deboard a plane buy a first class ticket or lease a private plane, if she doesn’t have the cash for that she needs to wait for her rows turn. I hate it when someone tries to push to the front, I just blocked some guy a couple of weeks ago while I let a senior experienced woman get up and get her bags to deboard.

  16. Saywhatwhen says:

Foul-mouthed. Uncouth. Unstable. Should be in a cell block right now. Seriously what kind of adult spits at another person? That kind of rage says that she has some psychological issues to work on. She needs to talk to a therapist on an ongoing basis. That kind of rage cannot be just about wanting to get off the plane in a hurry.

    • qwerty says:

Um. Jail is not the answer here. She obviously needs mental help. You don’t make people less violent by locking them up in a cage…

      • Illyra says:

Therapy is a good idea but she also needs jail, just as a man who spit on and punched someone while screaming obscenities would.

      • Lady D says:

Yes, she does need jail. She needs to learn violent actions have harsh consequences. She needs to learn to keep her hands and body fluids OFF other people. She can get help while keeping the rest of the population safe from her.

  17. Naddie says:

She doesn’t need help. She needs to be sued until her last bit of coin, and maybe spit in the face of someone who’ll fight back. Help is needed for someone who lashes out at people and feel remorse later. Also, spitting in someone’s face shows a high level of disrespect.

  18. OSTONE says:

She is probably angry at the fact she is a D lister and only her and her 3 fans care for her music/her. She is awful.

  19. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

What do we expect? We have Real Housewives from all over the country slapping each other, throwing wine in each other’s faces, cursing like sailors (I’m a sailor, so it’s ok if I say that), we have idiots with TV shows (Kardashians, for example) behaving in the most disgusting manner, making up drama and brain numbing stupidity and they get rich doing it. We glorify rudeness, crassness, selfishness and obscenity. She’s the result of that. Welcome to the new world, where manners are neither taught nor demanded.

    • Kitten says:

      Yup this times a million.

    • Nicolette says:

Once again you have nailed it! This is the result of the bar being lowered over and over again. It’s everywhere now, not just with celebs. And I agree about manners not being taught much anymore. I’ve always stressed it with my kids, say please and thank you and respect your elders. It’s come to the point where I am actually shocked when a child says thank you, or excuse me because so many of them now have no idea what manners are. I can only imagine what their generation will be like as adults.

    • Shambles says:

I’m grateful for parents who taught me dignity and respect to the point that I still call everyone “sir” and “m’am” into my 20s, whether I’m in a professonial situation or not. The ones who yell the loudest (or spit the hardest) usually get the most attention, and it can be depressing AF. But take heart, my GNAT, we’re not all bad. 😉

      • parnormalgirl says:

I’m grateful for the sisters who raised me. They taught me grace, manners, and respect for others.

    • Pamela says:

      Nailed it!

    • K says:

Sorry but you’re talking about reality TV which people know is fake and also attracts the lowest dominator of our society but if you interact with people most are still showing manners. I mean look at the outrage this received.

I don’t think you can use reality TV as a judge of society as a whole it’s not fair.

      • Kitten says:

She’s not saying that reality TV reflects real life–that’s not her point.
She’s saying that reality TV reflects what people find entertaining and that’s bottom-of-the-barrell sh*t. It’s garbage like trashy women being catty and fighting with each other, people bickering and feuding and being petty and people acting in a crass, despicable manner.

As a society, we are glamorizing and normalizing these appalling displays of human behavior as if it’s acceptable and ok.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Exactly what Kitten said. This woman has grown up watching people being lauded and enriched by terrible behavior. Some (I know not all, Shambles!) people are going to emulate that despicable behavior. Why wouldn’t they? They have nothing to lose and they don’t know any better. The only consequences for her spitting in a man’s face – a man who was visiting our country – and then punching him – will be publicity for her.

    • Crumpet says:

I’m thinking she is a product of how she was raised, with a personality disorder to boot. In that regard, I think she needs help. Otherwise she will end up behind bars living on the taxpayers dime.

This is my way of gently disagreeing with you.😊

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

You may gently disagree with me any time. I gently disagree back. 😄 yes, she may have been raised badly, but you can’t always blame the parents for everything. They may have tried to teach her how to be well-mannered, but their opinion may have been overshadowed by our culture of applauding tackiness and crassness. Or they might be awful people, too. She may have a mental disorder, but she may just have a lack of self control and poor anger management skills. In other words, she may just be a big brat. I have no way of knowing. I just can’t help but think our acceptance of despicable behavior by turning it into entertainment encourages more of it.

    • stinky says:

(don’t forget ‘Jersey Shore’ !!! lol.. well yeah, you cant forget it but just sayin’)

    • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

I’m going to have to disagree with you too in the sense that this (imo) has nothing to do with what she watched or was exposed to. As an early fan of Banks I read so many of her interviews before she really became famous and this chick…this is mental illness and child abuse rolled into one nice little ball.

She was repeatedly beaten by her mother who would assault her half the time then shower her with gifts the other half of the time. Her Father was not present at all in her life. Her mother was on drugs and was often tweaked out of her mind. Banks began relationships with older white men sometimes 30-40 years her senior when she was in high school who would (the way she describes it) use her as a source of amusement because of her blackness. As in they would take her at her dirtiest in sweats to fancy restaurants and get off on watching all the other patrons stare as they Little Orphan Annie/Pretty Womaned her.

Literally every action of hers I’ve ever seen stems from this childhood everything from obsessively picking fights to self-defeating her chances for success. This isn’t a ‘hey the media tells me I can be terrible and still make money’ situation so much as it is a ‘even if my actions burn me to the ground I can’t stop myself’ situation.

Lovingly signed, FORMER fans of Azealia (but seriously at the end of the day I really wish she’d get help, not for her rap career but because I think she’ll have a major breakdown soon).

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I didn’t know about her childhood. How sad. Yes, definitely that would have an effect on anyone.

      • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

Yeah, she’s one of the celebs who I look at as proof of the destructive grinder that is the celebrity world. I think on some level she still has to be making SOMEONE some money, so no one tries to get her help or make her behave. Instead she can pretty much act as rude and disgusting as she wants until said breakdown occurs and then someone will just wash their hands of her and move on to the next talent.

She’s just damaged beyond belief. It doesn’t excuse ANYTHING she’s done but damn…it explains a lot of it.

      • kri says:

On Banks and her awful childhood-that’s dreadful and shouldn’t happen to any kid. Just like Terrence Howard, and so many others, violence begets violence. But as an adult, you owe it to yourself and humanity to take a good long look at yourself and see the truth. And then you get help. Or you become the person who ties a woman to a chair and beats her. Or the woman on a plane who punches a man and spits in his face, then calls another person a f#ggot. You can never change what happened to you when you were a kid. But you can change the adult you are. I did it. I know many people who have done it. It doesn’t have to be this way forever.

      • QQ says:

This Eternal! A lot of people don’t know that and also fail to see she is Dumb Young still….this is a girl that talented as though she might be Never ever had a chance, so all that grossness and Trauma and horrible upbringing and hustle she had to do to come up is all wrapped up in cattiness and a loud and wrong hard shell, if anything she makes me sad cause this isn’t gonna end well for her

      • Marie-France says:

I agree with you Eternal. She is talented and I personally think that she has valid points in some of her Twitter fights, even though she tends to lose them after getting lost in anger towards The whole world. There is no excuse For violence and this is too much, even For her.

    • hogtowngooner says:

      YUP.

It’s all a ruse to appear “principled” and “passionate” when really it’s just unacceptable rudeness and immature antics. Many politicians are the same way.

    • Zwella Ingrid says:

      X infinity @GNAT

    • suziekew says:

Spot on GNAT. We are reaping what we sow.

    • Anna says:

      Right?!

  20. bread says:

How does it feel to live your life when you’re so *angry* all the time?

    • Lady D says:

I knew a woman like that when we were in our late 20’s. She was always looking forward to the next fight, be it verbal or physical. Literally, hoping for, or creating a situation where she could unleash. I didn’t understand her mentality. Me, I avoid violence, and I had a real hard time (at that time) trying to figure out why she so relished the next scrap.

  21. Britney says:

I don’t see much of a difference between her and Rihanna.

    • Cynthia says:

rihanna was racist towards karrueche and there’s been some backhanded comments about how some guy will go to hell cos he might be gay (in typical riri fashion. nothing serious) but otherwise rihanna is not horrible. the people she’s rude to went for it. banks here is a fucking devil. for real. and people, she’s not insanely talented, she’s doing nothing different than other upcoming artistes. what talent?

      • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

Not to mention Rihanna’s never done anything off of Twitter, she’s pretty harmless once you get a keyboard away from her.

Azealia is definitely in a class of her own for someone who’s supposed to be a celebrity, this is beyond ugly behavior.

    • AlmondJoy says:

You’ve seen Rihanna do something like this?

    • Jayna says:

Seriously, how can you even compare the two? Azealia’s twitter over the past year when I would look at it was racist, disturbing, vile, hateful in parts, turns on people trying to agree with her at times. She gets away with it for whatever reason.

    • FingerBinger says:

I’ve never heard a story about Rihanna spitting or calling people a fa___t.

    • Emily C. says:

Rihanna has never physically attacked anyone. Also, while she can be incredibly mean (like to that girl with the prom dress), she’s not a ragemonster.

  22. K says:

Listen little girl have a million seats. If anyone behaved like you did regardless of race they would not be politely handed anything by a flight attendant.

In fact trick I’m a white woman with airline status who flies constantly for work and flight attendants are at best civil to me never polite. Airline travel sucks no one is nice and I never even speak on a flight except to answer what drink I want so if with that I get a maybe civil here’s your drink, I know if I PUNCHED SOMEONE IN THE FACE they wouldn’t be nice!!! AND THEY SHOULDNT BE I SHOULD BE ARRESTED!!

This girl wants to act like all her problems are because of her being black, but lets be real while yes of course she’s been discriminated against a lot of her issues are caused by HER behavior. If she was remotely civil she wouldn’t have half her problems.

Let go of the rage and be a little bit polite to anyone, I mean anyone and things might get better. Oh and if you’re going to use hateful slurs you can’t cry foul when it’s done to you because you’re no different from the people calling you names.

  23. Darkladi says:

How did Nicki Minaj put it? Ah yes, “You a stupid ho, you a stupid, stupid ho”

  24. Kym says:

If someone spit on me ..it would take everything I have not to bludgeon them to death.

    • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

Lmao, yeah she seems to keep testing the right ones since she consistently gets away with this nonsense. I don’t believe in fighting for silly things but someone could lose control and really knock her out if she keeps spitting on people for nothing.

    • Illyra says:

There are few things more vile than spitting on others. If he’d reacted instinctively by bitch slapping her, I wouldn’t really blame him.

Personally I’d rather be called names—any and every name—than spit on. She’s a pig.

    • I Choose Me says:

Right? You spit on me and it instantly activates my rage button. I would go medieval on your ass.

  25. AnitaCocktail says:

This trash needs to be on the No Fly List yesterday.

  26. Carmen says:

Trashy wench needs to have her butt kicked to kingdom come.

  27. AlmondJoy says:

She just CAN’T get right 😩 She’s so hateful abusive. I’m not completely surprised l, as she was raised in a hateful and abusive home. But that is really no excuse for her disgusting behavior. And she makes it seem as if she’s not as famous as she should be because she’s dark-skinned… Yes that may be PART of the reason but the real reason is the fact that she is a horrible person. Just awful.

  28. Triple Cardinal says:

I have some members of my family who truly enjoy upsetting others. They get an adrenalin rush from bickering or starting an argument. It sounds like this woman gets a real buzz off being aggressive.

Too many people have let her get away with it. One good defensive belt in the face, one arrest for assault, or one juicy, expensive lawsuit just might teach her some basic manners.

  29. PennyLane says:

Azealia Banks’ youth, beauty, and talent are preventing her from getting the help she so desperately needs.

Also – the people managing her do not have her best interests at heart – they are in it for the short term and the short term only. Once she gets worse and her behaviors can no longer be excused or ignored, they will simply wash their hands of her and walk away. And she will be left wondering where all the money went as she tries to pay for her legal fees.

  30. Nev says:

Wasn’t there another Tweet when she said the man put his hands on her first?

  31. Tammy says:

So Azealia needs help but Terence Howard is a violent sociopath? Why, Why do we continue to treat abusers that are women different than men?!?

    • FingerBinger says:

This is first time I’ve read about her assaulting anybody. Terrence Howard has a history of assaulting wives. This isn’t quite the same thing. Emma Roberts gets the same treatment as other abusers btw.

  32. word says:

Is anyone surprised by this? She’s a ticking time bomb. She has some deep seeded emotional issues.

  33. Josefa says:

She needs professional help. I think she seriously doesn’t understand why all of this is wrong.

  34. j.eyre says:

No amount of talent justifies this. Nothing justifies this.

  35. Tacos and TV says:

She is like a bad rash. I can not stand her at all. In fact, I’m beginning to hate her presence. She is so distasteful, ugly (inside), rude, ignorant, man, and you know what…. she’s f**king basic as f**k! She’s also insecure and desperate. She isn’t even thirsty, it’s beyond thirst, it’s trying to achieve infamy. but no one cares because she’s basic. Awful. And, I hate when ppl make excuses for using terrible, offensive, slurs. “Oh all of my friends are gay so it’s ok if I use a horribly demeaning word?!” What are you, 6? Girl needs to sit down somewhere, get a lobotomy and stop!

  36. The Eternal Side-Eye says:

This is one of the many reasons I will never NEVER be a fan again, she’s like a little kid who keeps texting boundaries and when she gets away with something once she just acts 10x worse. I’m also going to need her to stop using her race as a shield against ALL her bad actions. It hurts the genuine issues and conversations were trying to have. I’m also tired of her ‘I’m bi/know gay people’ so it’s cool if I use a slur with pure intent to hate and cause pain.

She’s a mess, smh. This is just no way to live life celebrity or no celebrity.

  37. Dirty Martini says:

SHe needs to be on a “no human contact” list. She’s just inexcusable in her awful behavior. #TeamAnybodyButHer(IncludingKanye)

  38. Grant says:

“Insanely talented rapper…” Uh, I wouldn’t go that far.

    • Josefa says:

I feel like people who knew about her horrible antics before her music will never truly appreciate it. She really is tremendously talented and original. Broke With Expensive Taste is a wonderful album.

      • Grant says:

I guess it’s a “different strokes for different folks” kind of situation because I didn’t think there was anything on that album that was any different from anything on the Pinkprint or even the New Classic (to a lesser degree).

    • Harrison says:

Just leave it at “insane rapper.”

  39. kris says:

it has nothing to do with being black. has to do with the fact that you’re a c*nt.

  40. iheartgossip says:

Ugh with this one. Never heard of her, except for all her antics. Shesh. Plus, I thought it was the Azalia from Australia. Bleh & meh on her

  41. Emily C. says:

If she hadn’t been flying first class, she would have been treated very differently. And she should have been. Forget pressing charges, she assaulted someone on an airplane, that should be an immediate arrest for anyone.

  42. Saks says:

Personally, I dont find her very different from Rihanna or Nicki Minaj; yet I used to sort of defend her because it appeared as if she had some valuable points at times.

She reached my limit when she supported Trump’s comments, implying latinos took jobs from black people…

  43. Tessd says:

You know, I’ve been reading accounts of what slavery was really like and what racism is like these days, despite many victories and I say this – there’s no way a black person will feel just as free, respected and secure as any lowest of the lows who has white skin.
Her behavior is inexcusable but I can see where it’s coming from. I can see that deep dark place of pain and I feel for her.

    • coco says:

If she knows she has bipolar disorder, she may be afraid to take the meds because she thinks it will stifle her creativity and blunt her emotions.

But the alternative is self-destructing this way.

      • Boston Green Eyes says:

She better take her meds. A friend who suffered from bipolarism just recently killed himself.

There’s almost something inherent in bipolarism where the sufferer feels the absolute need to cease taking their meds. So sad.

    • Illyra says:

“there’s no way a black person will feel just as free, respected and secure as any lowest of the lows who has white skin.”

      That’s absurd.

  44. Boston Green Eyes says:

    She sounds charming.

They should lock AZ and Naomi Campbell in a room together so they can beat each other with their cell phones.

  45. Adrien says:

She’s a black (an actual black person) Iggy Azalea who can rap.

  46. She’s not nearly as talented as she and her fans think she is. She need to go away. We don’t need her. We have celebrities with much more talent than her. She is a hateful unhappy oxygen steal-er. She needs to go.

  47. snakecharmer says:

being bipolar and having an abusive youth are not an excuse or crutch. however, the inner turmoil and unchecked anger are hatd to control. her substance abuse is very indicitive of her problems. people sometimes think that vice is simply used for selfish pleasure, and in some cases thats true. bit many times drugs and alcohol or whatever it may be are a way of self medicating. not to mention she is surrounded by yes ppl and her bad behavior is reinforced. many bipolar prople can put on a front in public or the business setting but are a mess in their personal life. this leads to selfish behavior and writing ppl off who dont tell you what you want to hear. her behavior is nasty, but i see a person who is hurting inside.

  48. Ewissa says:

    Anger mamagement comes to mind.

  49. iseepinkelefants says:

How are you going to write an article and not report the whole story? Apparently this French guy hit her in the face and then she retaliated and the video footage is her after being assaulted and then held on to. If some guy hit me in the face, I’d be a lot more pissed offa bout that. And the French couple probably didn’t want to Ross charges because assault would get the husband thrown out. End of vacation.
