Henry Cavill wears a pinky ring, walks his beautiful Akita in London: hot or not?

After the Kaley Cuoco moment in 2013, Henry Cavill rarely gets pap’d out on his own. It only happens once every few months that we get any kind of candid photos of him, so enjoy. Henry was seen out and about yesterday in London. I don’t know if he has a place in London, actually? I’m pretty sure he has a place in LA and he lives in LA most of the time now. Henry’s not working right now, but he does have a film in pre-production: Sand Castle, an Iraq War drama also starring Nicholas Hoult and Luke Evans.

The beautiful dog with Henry is his beloved Akita, Kal-El. Henry adopted Kal-El back when he was with Gina Carano, and I guess Henry got to keep Kal-El when they split up. No joint custody! Kal-El is also a “working dog,” or to use a better term, he’s a therapy dog. Kal-El gets to fly with Henry because Henry has an extreme fear of flying. Kal-El is absolutely one of the prettiest dogs I’ve ever seen! My dog has a similar “bear cub” face. It’s adorable.

As for how Henry looks here… why does he still look so bulky? Is he trying to keep up his muscles for the Justice League movies, which will be shot…??? I don’t know. But I don’t think the pinky ring is helping Henry’s vibe. Nor do I think those pants are flattering at all.

Henry is also being included on the very unofficial “shortlist” for the next James Bond. The speculation has gotten way out of control in the UK. People are actually wagering money on it too. Tom Hardy is the #1 choice (in a public survey), then Idris Elba, Damien Lewis, Orlando Bloom and Cavill coming in at #5. Seriously, people? Who honestly believes that Orlando Bloom would make a better James Bond than Henry Cavill? WHO ARE YOU?

I think he looks hot. And Although Henry is a beautiful man, I usually don’t think he looks as good in photos, as he does in motion. But here, YUM!

  2. Amelia says:

Awww, look at his chubby little paws! I could just snuggle up with that cutie on the sofa with a blanket all weekend long 🙂
Cavill’s alright, I prefer Illya Kuryakin, though.

    • V4Real says:

Yeah I just came for that beautiful dog.

    • Mia4s says:

Ha! I agree @Amelia. I had a soft spot for the Russian (even if he was actually from California). How has Armie escaped the superhero casting so far? Seems almost inevitable.

Orlando Bloom as James Bond?! Look I like the guy but what are people smoking??

      • Tiffany says:

Three words Mia. The Lone Ranger.

I totally believe that is the film that killed his career momentum.

      • Mia4s says:

Meh, The Lone Ranger was on Depp really (no one expected Hammer to be a draw), but you’re right the association didn’t help. That’s why I’m more convinced than ever he’ll end up a superhero. Hell, Chris Evans did about 10 years of awful movies before he went Marvel. Hammer has a couple of award nominations and some great supporting roles next year but none can escape the cape!!

I figure Garrett Hedlund ends up in superheroville too.

  3. InvaderTak says:

Oh perfect! I’m going to need some help, but if someone can volunteer to distract Henry somehow I’m pretty sure I can lure the dog off…
They look like they got in an argument before the walk lol so serious.
The Legolas fangirls are alive and well I see.

  4. Sochan says:

Henry’s been wearing that ring for years. Something to do with his family’s tradition and name.

I think it’s funny that he’s walking the dog he adopted with Gina (blanking on her last name) when they got back together for a quick minute. The dog will probably outlive all of Henry’s romances. He has a terrible track record. But boy is he beautiful to look at.

    • OhDear says:

Yeah, I think that ring has personal/sentimental value, not a sign of douchery.

      The dog is gorgeous.

      • Sochan says:

It’s too bad pinky rings have a bad rap in the modern age. There was a time when it was considered very handsome and sophisticated to wear one. Same with cufflinks. Now if a man wears one he is mocked. I don’t personally like them on men myself but I don’t have a negative feeling about men wearing them. And the dog really is gorgeous.

      • LAK says:

In america perhaps, in the UK a signet ring simply tells people about your background, and if you pass through posh neighbourhoods, they are all wearing signet rings. Male and female.

      • Sochan says:

You’re right, @LAK! It is an American thing to poo-poo signet rings. It used to be the same with sandals and flip-flops on men but we evolved past that. And pink shirts.

  5. Mel M says:

    Yes, who are these people?

I don’t care how he dresses he’s still my forever dong. Nothing will ruin what the Tudors did for him for me.

  6. kri says:

That dog is hot. HC doesn’t do it for me,though.

    • Dubois says:

Me neither. His clothes are always so poorly fitted. Ugh @ those pants and that too small hoodie.

      • Lizzie McGuire says:

He has a bad pants situation a la Robert Pattinson. The only thing helping him here is that his adorable dog is distracting me from his outfit.

  7. Mimz says:

    THAT DOG!!!! I’M IN LOVE!!!

Ok, now that I got that out of the way.. well i think he looks fine, for someone walking with his dog. And I found it endearing how his dog is a therapy dog. He must be really scared of flying, shame… I feel for him. Made me like him more.

  8. thaisajs says:

He’s got a very greasy vibe going on, which makes him less than hot to me. But I’d steal that dog in a hot minute. What a beauty.

  9. Sarah01 says:

He is a beautiful man and l like him.

  10. Lilacflowers says:

Kal-El is beautiful and hot. Henry is ok.

  11. Saywhatwhen says:

GAGG!!! Lord have mercy, the pinky ring and beard. Make way for another hipster in London.

  12. LAK says:

Have you just noticed his signet ring? He’s always worn one. Unlike the Middletons, it isn’t a recent affectation and it tells you everything about his background.

HC was one of the often speculated names before Daniel Craig got the job. I think in those days it was thought he was too young. Now he is the perfect age, assuming Daniel still has one more film in him, and his DC Comics contract hasn’t tied him down for another 10yrs+

  13. Shambles says:

I would prefer him in Tudor-era clothing, engaging in the sprightly shenanigans of a young Englishman.

    And Henry is okay, too.

  14. kay says:

He lost his hot years ago, his body is too buff, the pinky ring is silly and his pub adventures are not really attractive.

  15. silken_floss says:

My British readers: Is he from aristocratic stock? He just seems to have that air

    • LAK says:

That’s why he’s wearing that signet ring. It’s not just affectation. It signals his aristo background/roots.

It’s weird that only now people are noticing it since he’s worn it forever and you can see it in most pics of him, casual or smart.

      • Leah says:

Another british actor from aristocratic/uberposh background.. yawn.

      • Sochan says:

Sure … just another one … except that these actors “from posh backgrounds” at least are trained in their craft, unlike so many American actors who get their careers from nepotism or other connections and rarely even take an acting class.

    • Hazel says:

He was educated at Stowe – very posh boarding school. Probably not as famous as Eton or Harrow but still very exclusive.

His family also lives in Jersey – a tax haven.

  16. Talie says:

Man from UNCLE may have flopped, but it proved to me that he would be a perfect Bond.

  17. EN says:

He looks very nice. It looks like he shaped up a bit since we last saw him.

  18. MexicanMonkey says:

I’m not a big fan of high bulky guys, which rules out a lot if the current crop of superhero actors, so I’ll pass on Henry and Bond. But I want that dog he is a-dor-able!

  19. jammypants says:

    I want his puppy.

  20. grumpy bird says:

That dog is adorable, he has the sweetest face!! I’m pretty sure I read an interview where Henry said his name is just Kal not Kal-El.

  21. belle de jour says:

I giggled at an actor with “Commando” on his shirt; but perhaps he is skillfully carrying out a delicate and tactical dog walking assignment that is far more dangerous & strategically complicated than one might expect.

  22. Tacos and TV says:

Ok, ok, I love a good pinky ring. Oh my gosh! Never have I found this man attractive, but that pinky ring has made me go “Wooooowza”! I dig it. Yes honey! I would hit that hard… but only if he keeps on that pinky ring. Hahahaha.

  23. iseepinkelefants says:

The ring is because he’s a Posh boy no? I remember reading he was head boy at some upper class school and that’s why he moved from Jersey to mainland England when he was younger (hence his dialect is normal). I think he stared in a movie at this same fancy school… don’t quote me. I had a huge crush on him back in the Tudors days and it’s all my Swiss cheese brain can barf up. Signet ring =posh.
