Duchess Kate has been wearing extensions for a while, claims British stylist

wenn23006425

There are about a dozen smaller stories about The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge from the past few days, so I’m putting them all in this post in no particular order. Prince William actually did some solo royal events late last week, which just goes to show you… Poor Jason the PR guy did manage to get through to the Cambridges a little bit. They know they have to do more.

Prince William talked about grief. He made an appearance the Child Bereavement U.K. gala and he gave a speech. He said, in part: “My mother was determined to help those in need and she would have been immensely proud — as I am — of all that Child Bereavement U.K. has achieved these last 21 years… What my mother recognized back then — and what I understand now — is that grief is the most painful experience that any child or parent can endure. As a father to two young children myself, I now appreciate it all the more.”

William also talked about his kids. When he stopped by Cambridge University, he chatted with a professor and the professor then spoke to the media, saying: “We talked a little bit about the children and he did make a couple of comments about their different temperaments. He said George is very lively and Charlotte is very ladylike. He said they were both delightful of course.” Translation: Charlotte can do no wrong in her daddy’s eyes and George is still running the Cambridge household with an iron baby fist.

Will & Kate are going to Scotland. They are set to visit Dundee, Scotland on October 23 and they will carry out five engagements during their two day (?) trip, including a stop by an anti-bullying workshop and a visit to Abertay University.

The Duchess of Wiglets lives. This is my favorite of all the stories!! Britain’s “top stylist” Inanch Emir claims that Kate totally wears extensions all the time. Emir doesn’t base this claim on insider knowledge – Emir is basically a CB commenter, on permanent Wiglet Watch, looking through photos of Kate and determining that Kate totally wears extensions. Emir told Now Magazine: “Having looked at before and after pictures, it is my professional opinion that Kate Middleton has been experimenting with extensions as her hair has looked more vibrant and bouncy in recent months…It started off so subtle it was difficult to tell, but her hair seems thicker – she may have had around 100-120 strands and colours too.” Emir’s opinion is the Kate slowly introduced the extensions over the past few years, but I disagree: Kate has been wearing extensions, falls, weaves, etc since 2011.

The Cambridges are influential. Super-influential, apparently. In a new poll, the Cambridges were named the top most influential “power couple.” ORLY? The #2 position: David and Victoria Beckham, then Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, then the Jolie-Pitts, then the Obamas. Bill & Melinda Gates didn’t even make it to the top five. This list is utter bulls—t.

Yeah that power couple list is beyond bullshit and also seems insulting to the POTUS. You know Michelle is not having it!

Also, about Kate’s hair, all I can say is WHO CARES? Really. Who? Name one person that cares about this chic’s extensions ahaha

    • kb says:

It’s a UK poll. Why would they care about the president of the U.S.? Good grief.

      • Anne tommy says:

Of course people in the UK care about the Obamas. Presumably this is a light hearted poll so I won’t labour it, but the President has an enormous impact on Britain’s foreign policy, to give one Instance – anyone reading the recent revelations of Bush,Blair and war knows how the US president influences the life – and death – of UK citizens. The suggestion that Barack and Michelle are less important than the vacuous himbos and bimbos above them in the poll is laughable.

    • ariverruns@aol.com says:

I read that the poll was 2000 Brits.

imo Probably most of the votes MANIPULATED through Cambridge’s PR Team.

    • ariverruns@aol.com says:

A news alert for Celebitcher’s. William’s favorite friend ,Jecca Craig got married.
William’s dear old friend got married. It’s been kept on the down low, but Tanna got news of it.

      • Olenna says:

Thanks for the scoop, ariverruns. I googled her husband and apparently he’s a PhD conservationist who doesn’t just have a degree–he actually works, which makes him the total opposite of “let me just get by on my birthright and title” Normal Bill.

  2. kath says:

“Kate has been wearing extensions for a while”. And water is wet.

  3. Amelia says:

In other breaking news, water is wet.
Lately it’s been looking as if Cousin Its brunette relative has been setting up home on her head. I know her hair is something of a trademark for her, but it looks a bit like an over-groomed poodle at Crufts.

    • ariverruns@aol.com says:

My hairstylist friend in LA, says Extensions are like crack for some women, once they try them once or twice they have a strong need to come back and back and back and ask for more and more. She told me she tries to wean them off of the extensions, to try to get their own hair healthy again, because prolonged use of extensions can thin hair out, because they pull on the natural hair around where they are placed in. She said most ladies who try them, get hooked and can’t or won’t give them up for years.

      • Pondering thoughts: TRANSPARENCY says:

        @ Amelia

Cousin It !!! Love it. She got a lighter shade dye job so it really looks like Cousin It’s dark ash blonde.

        @ ariverruns@aol.com
I bet after extensive use of extensions you have to give them up because the weigth of the extensions damages the roots?
Well, that is what they say about Naomi. And she is down to full on wigs. The difference between Waity and Naomi? Nobody is forced to pay Naomi.

      • Maria A. says:

Never understood this whole extension obsession women have. It sounds like a huge inconvenience to maintain.
That, and I keep finding these weird, long strands of hair laying on the ground: lost extensions! Kind of icky.

    • aurelia says:

Considering a womans hair falls out in clumps post partum I think its safe to assume she has extensions in.

  4. Beatrice says:

No news to anyone who reads CB–we’ve known that Kate has added extensions, falls, wiglets, etc. to her hair for years. By the way, those bangs are tragic!

    • ariverruns@aol.com says:

Kate’s extensions, weave-lets ,wig-lets are so obvious. Her hair hangs way too heavy in back like a wig.

Amal Clooney also uses extensions, hers hang better but sometimes are obvious too.

    • Esmom says:

Yes, the bangs are a really bad choice. They really do make her hair look like a wig to me.

    • Pondering thoughts: TRANSPARENCY says:

Kate is trying the Bridget Bardot style of big hair. The style is coming back but it doesn’t suit Waity.

And yes, as a whole with bangs and all her hair is tragic. Just like her royal work schedule or her “skills” she displayed while working …

  5. Madly says:

Her hair looks so fake and ugly. It is overwhelming her face.

    • hmph says:

      Yep, looks like a mop.

    • Citresse says:

Yes and even during the big hair 80s phase, Diana realized her hair became overwhelming (during 1984) then tried other styles and cuts.

    • mary says:

i agree, she has way too much hair, it’s heavy and dark. Combined with the awful bangs and dark eyebrows it makes what could be a somewhat pretty and delicate face look tired and harsh.

    • Loo says:

“Ugly”?? You don’t get out enough.

  6. polonoscopy says:

Influential to what purpose? Do they influence everyone to renovate their kitchens and vacation four times a year?

    • Jade says:

Influenced people to paint their house purple or to consider moving their tennis court? Uh…how about to constantly put their clutch in front of their groins? Somebody help…

    • Pondering thoughts: TRANSPARENCY says:

They aren’t influential and that is it. Their pr is trying to make them look like something while they are zero or rather more negative than that.

    • Cricket says:

Influence to not smoke and wear sun block?

      • Adding sums says:

yeah, most likely. They are like an add for all things negative. All things to avoid:

        – smoking
        – suntanning
        – no ambition in career anything
        – no interests
        – just social climbing and nothing else

  7. InvaderTak says:

    DUH. like seriously, DUH.
I will say Wills sounds like a good dad. I still love the way he handled PGTips running off at Charlotte’s christening. He seems to know how to handle him.

  8. Jayna says:

I like her hair on her. It softens her face.

    • ariverruns@aol.com says:

It looks like a hanging mop. IMO

    • FingerBinger says:

@Jayna I like her hair as well. Her hair doesn’t offend or anger me like it does for others here.

      • Pondering thoughts: TRANSPARENCY says:

Think about the taxpayer’s money being spent on those extensions and wiglets and while she doesn’t do any royal engagements.
That is like paying somebody for work that doesn’t get done.

      • FLORC says:

        FingerBinger
I’m not one of these people, but I am a founding member of Wiglet Watch and creator of the original Wiglet Wagon. Her hair does not offend me or anger me. The lengths PR and journalist hoping to gain favor with the Cambridges are entertaining. And the amount of money that goes into maintaining her locks is excessive.

Outside of that I can’t care.

      • wendi says:

Her hair doesn’t offend or anger me either – rather it makes me laugh. I come to this site for entertainment and looking at Kate’s hair and reading the comments fits the bill.

  9. LAK says:

I really hate it when people use gender stereotypes to describe babies.

And one would have to be blind not to see the difference in Kate’s hair in the past 14 (?) years especially as her body has become thinner. It’s scientifically impossible to become thinner whilst your hair becomes thicker and more luscious, even with the best hair treatments.

    • kath says:

I’m having a hard time visualizing a baby who is “ladylike” lol

And +100 to your second point. She needs better nutrition, STAT.

      • Citresse says:

Maybe what William meant by “ladylike” is Charlotte reminds him in some way of Diana. And Diana was Lady Diana.

      • LAK says:

A title isn’t the same thing as an adjective, and William, being as status conscious as he is, would know the difference.

      • Citresse says:

Yes, I know, but William can’t exactly say : “wow, Charlotte already reminds me so much of my mother.” The last thing William wants is more press attention placed on his children.
The question is; did William in conversation with St. Andrews faculty ever speak so kindly of Kate?

    • m says:

My problem is all of Williams backhanded comments about his son. Kate said he was hoping for a girl the first time around and I wonder if he isn’t disappointed that George was a boy AND not an easy child. I don’t think I’ve ever read anything positive about George from his father. Its too bad William already seems to have a favorite child.
I hope charlotte grows up to be a wild child. A strong woman who doesn’t take her parents crap. Lets see how “ladylike” William finds her then 🙂

    • Mel says:

“It’s scientifically impossible to become thinner whilst your hair becomes thicker and more luscious”

I don’t know about scientifically, but I can attest – from personal experience – that it is indeed possible. No hair treatments involved.
I am in my early 50s. I always had incredible hair, but in my 30s it started to thin somewhat (it may have been stress) AND I slowly gained weight..
Fast forward to AD 2015: I weigh less (and look better) than 10 years ago – and my hair is growing ever thicker and healthier. The only thing I do – besides not washing it more than once in 10 days or so (yes – and it doesn’t stink. AT. ALL. :)), but then I’ve never washed it more often than that – is take good quality vitamins (especially D, K2, magnesium and B-complex).
I also never *expected* to deteriorate with age (as many women seem to), so that may have something to do with it.

      • Cricket says:

When I started to gain some weight and my normally thick hair became thinner and falling out, I was diagnosed with a thyroid problem. Both are tell tale signs of hypothyroidism.

  10. AlmondJoy says:

Kaiser, you had me cracking up at iron baby fist! I can picture it lol

Wearing extensions is fine. What’s not fine is the fact that you can tell she wears them.. She’s the wife of a prince for goodness sake 😩 I know tons of women in the hood that could do an amazing job and have her hair LAID.

    • LAK says:

What’s silly is that she denies them, and people believe her!!!!

      • ariverruns@aol.com says:

They are the same people who believe that Kate is going to hit the ground running and works HARD behind the scenes!

      • Christin says:

Especially when it was reported how many HOURS she spent at a hairdressers. Even double processes of hair color would not take four or five hours. It had to be extensions.

      • Pondering thoughts: TRANSPARENCY says:

        @ Christin

And it was too much time spent at a hairdresser’s even for extensions.
        Let’s guess the full package:

        – a perm for her roots to give her volume. I think she had that for her engagement when her hair looked ridiculously voluminous.
        – extensions
        – full colouring process
        – brazilian straightening

And even that process wouldn’t take four hours.

Btw. if the process takes four hours then how expensive is it? My hairdresser has 2-3 customers sitting in each of his chairs per hour.

      • LAK says:

After DM printed her true face ie without any photoshop on Poppy Day 2013, when she hadn’t bothered to re-touch her roots or re- botox her face, she reportedly spent 6hrs at the hairdressers having her hair dyed, cut, extensions added.

The next time she was seen out publicly, hair was back to it’s glossy best, face lacquered (botoxed) into place, and all was well in the world again.

      • CG says:

@Christin When I’ve gotten a single process color + a full head of highlights + a shampoo + a cut + a blowout, the absolute max amount of time I’ve ever spent in a salon is 2 1/2 hours. Just a root touch-up, shampoo, cut and blowout takes less than two hours, maybe just 90 minutes. I can’t even imagine spending between four and six hours just on my hair. In six hours I could do my hair as well as get a mani-pedi, facial and massage!

      • Charlotte15 says:

@Christin and Pondering: I don’t have a horse in this race as to whether or not Kate has extensions, but I go to a salon to get Japanese straightening 3-4 times a year and it does take about four hours. If I add on a trim or some sort of deep-conditioning process, it can go even longer than that. I go to the salon with my phone charger and lots of magazines! 😉

So regardless of what she’s getting done, it is possible – and I’ve seen pictures of her “natural” hair which can get a bit frizzy so she very well might get this treatment done as well.

  11. Citresse says:

She does everything for a while. She waited years for William remember.

  12. Bishg says:

Sometimes I wonder if this two are really happy together.
In the first picture they look like a middle-age couple (and yet, this is an understatement cause there are middle-age couples who look a lot fresher and relaxed than this) shopping for living-room furniture.
Their smiles and posture are often very tense.
They both look very rough for a someone who hasn’t even turned 35 yet, and considering all their privileges (little to no work) and vacations.

    • Andrea says:

      Only time will tell..

    • Betti says:

Neither are aging well and both look older than they are – both are smokers and both style themselves as boring ‘middle class’ middle aged people. She in particular looks rough – I don’t want to meangirl her for her looks but the smoking, heavy eye makeup, terrible hair and older styling really does nothing for her. She’s an attractive woman.

She should take note from Sophie (Countess of Wessex), she not only looks great but she looks younger. Sadly Willy is going to way of his Uncle (Edward, Earl of Essex) who started losing his hair at the same age – the curse of the Windsors.

As for their relationship – i always get the impression that they are both quite difficult people in their own ways. Can’t imagine either is easy to live with.

      • caitlin says:

In fairness, his premature ageing is mostly out of his control – Windsor genes, hereditary baldness. Kate has done a lot of damage to her body (& appearance) voluntarily – too much sun, smoking & extreme dieting.

    • aurelia says:

I’m serious, chuck and cam out dazzle them at every event and they are totally old. Remember cam’s pearl encrusted white coat she worse for PG’s christening. Just magic.

      • wolfie says:

Michelle Obama is pretty dazzling too. Even in the world of glamour, the Cambridge’s only have youth in their favor, which is fleeting – which is exactly why it would have been wonderful to watch the world’s most beloved woman age (Diana). I wonder if the Willnot’s believe their own PR – do they know anything about graphs and stat’s and polling?

I’ve never considered a pr link between Charlotte and Diana. Imagine Diana’s gene’s reborn. Do we gobble her up? I think that the entire strategy would suck for everyone, including Charlotte. I would rather Diana’s memory be honored, rather than exploited. I wonder if a young American PR man will be sensitive to this – I wish that Will would let Diana rest in peace. I’ve had enough of twisting memories. and bringing a dead person back. Isn’t it British to carry-on and hold high the banner?

    • Loo says:

I think it’s stress. Her life isn’t easy even if it is cushy. I wouldn’t want to be her.

  13. Andrea says:

I am over her boring hair with no layers/style. It is very dated to me. The bangs are something different, but still..

  14. HoustonGrl says:

Um, thank you inspector clouseau! It’s so obvious she’s had extensions for years. Her hair consistently looks awful too, so it’s ironic how much time and money is spent sustaining this style. I’ve said this before and I’ll said it again, she should get a long bob.

  15. Hazel says:

Sigh. A ‘lively’ boy & a ‘ladylike’ girl. People are already pre-determining behavior.

    • HoustonGrl says:

Yeah, I know they are programmed like robots to say these things, but that sounded really sexist to me.

  16. TessD says:

    Wills need some extentions.

Whoever can come up with something that’ll look better than that thing the Donald is wearing, will get ultra rich!

    • Pondering thoughts: TRANSPARENCY says:

I think William loves the air force because their headgear covers up his bald spots.

    • wolfie says:

The Donald had plugs put in. I wonder why William does not, as he would be handsome. That William’s wife uses extensions and he has no need to do anything, shows an interesting variance in values; sexist and cultural.

  17. Abba says:

Those bangs make my eyes twitch

  18. Pondering thoughts: TRANSPARENCY says:

Yep, Her Royal High Heels the Eyeliner Duchess of Wiglet and DoNothing.

The Cambridges influential? That is ridiculous. In order to be influential you need
    1. a serious career or
    2. serious money or
    3. a serious cause (mother theresa)

and a lot of media exposure for charity and speeches and speaking up.
The Cambridges don’t do anything and don’t aspire to anything and don’t have any serious causes and don’t and they don’t and then they don’t and finally they don’t.

The Cambridges have none of that. The only thing they have are inherited titles which currently don’t grant them any power beyond security and shopping+redecorating.

    • Feeshalori says:

What an insult to those influential people who are the true movers and shakers in the world. And the last person I’d want to influence a daughter of mine or be a role model to would be Kate Middleton.
