Angelina Jolie is ‘always proud’ of Brad for ‘how he balances his family life & work’

FFN_Panda3_Prem_KMFF_011616_51948880

It shouldn’t surprise me that people still, to this day, like to talk about Angelina Jolie’s thinness. But it does surprise me that people act like it’s a new thing. Angelina has always been a slender woman, and she’s been very open about the fact that she has trouble eating and taking care of herself when she’s under stress or an emotional mess, like in the months following her mother’s death. So when Angelina stepped onto the red carpet on Saturday for the premiere of Kung Fu Panda 3, people acted like they had never been aware of her thinness before. While it does concern me – I said as much in Sunday’s post – I also feel like, hey, she’s working, she’ll probably gain some weight back when she’s not in the middle of a project. Does she need to get better at taking care of herself? Sure. But this concern (or concern-trolling) is not new.

Anyway, at the premiere, Angelina spoke to Extra about getting her kids involved with Kung Fu Panda 3 (four of them did voice work) and how she’s proud of Brad:

Angelina Jolie chatted with “Extra’s” Terri Seymour, saying she just got off a plane from Cambodia. She was there directing “First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers,” a film she adapted with Loung Ung from Ung’s book of the same name. She jetted to the L.A. premiere in the middle of the night, “I just pulled myself together, just cleaned the dirt off my feet.”

Jolie is reprising her role as Tigress in the third “Kung Fu Panda” film, and she made it a real family affair this time: four out of her six children — Pax, 12; Zahara, 10; Shiloh, 9; and Knox, 7 — join her in providing voices for the movie. She tells “Extra” she is thrilled to share the experience with her family. “The kids are at home getting ready, and ZZ and I were in hair and makeup together.” She went on to say that acting has always been kind of for them, “but now it’s really together, it’s lovely.”

The kids working on a movie with her is something Jolie says she never wanted to pressure them into doing. “It’s been, ‘If you want to, you can jump in, and here’s a crazy idea’… and some of them were shy, but this one they all really wanted to and they all came together and did their recording together and took it very seriously — it was cute.” She smiled, “Now that they’ve had a taste, they think Mommy’s job is ridiculously easy.”

Jolie also talked about her husband Brad Pitt’s recent Oscar nomination for his passion project, “The Big Short,” saying, “I’m always proud of him because of all the work he does, and how he balances his family life and work. I love him, I’m proud of his film. I’d be proud either way, obviously. It’s lovely for him, it’s lovely for the film, it’s an important film — I don’t need that [Oscar recognition] to be proud of him.”

[From Extra]

I’m sure some will wonder if Angelina is a little bit bittersweet about this awards season because maybe there were some hopes, somewhere, that By the Sea would have gotten a better reception. I don’t think she feels that way – I think she always made By the Sea to have fun, just a silly project for herself and Brad, and the problem was that the studio gave her the money to do it. It was never going to get awards. And as I keep saying, Brad better thank his lucky stars that By the Sea didn’t “Norbit” The Big Short. As for her pride in Brad’s latest Oscar nomination (as executive producer of The Big Short), now I want to know if she’ll go to the Oscars this year with Brad. I think he will definitely go, but will Angelina be done in Cambodia by then? God, I hope so. Angelina’s Oscar style is so hit-or-miss, and if she comes this year, there will be SO MANY ARGUMENTS. Please let it happen!

The Jolie-Pitt marriage has been awfully open with the press lately, or maybe it has always been that way and I’m only noticing it now?

I’m glad their relationship is working, no one gave them too much credit to last so long because they were such tabloid magnets and the gossip rags were simply in heaven when these two got together. In fact, they were the first celebrities who introduced me to the online gossip world because it was just everywhere, there was no escaping them.

    • Jib says:

In my experience, when you start talking about how proud you are of your spouse, how things are both good and bad, etc., it’s going downhill. Sounds a bit like Gisella and Tom Brady.

And yes, I was concerned, because AJ’s thighs are almost the size of her knees, and I think she has an ED. My sister has one, it can come and go with stress, but she seems a lot skinnier than just missing some meals.

  2. Esmom says:

I think it’s cute and sweet how she and the kids made Kung Fu Panda together. Typical of kids to think the job is “so easy.”

As for Angelina’s thinness, I was honestly shocked at the photos of her from the premiere. Her legs are not thin, they are skeletal. That doesn’t happen by forgetting to eat now and then.

    • Goats on the Roof says:

Angelina’s thin in the extreme now. I sincerely hope she is working to be healthier.

    • Birdix says:

With all she’s been through health wise, you’d think she’d be careful to eat healthily and exercise. Maybe she is and this is her frame with healthy eating. Who knows? She doesn’t seem to have much muscle but it’s not always easy to tell. You’d think she could disguise it better though so she must not mind it.

      • CLINIQUA says:

Pretty sure someone who is under the kind of intense medical scrutiny that she has been, from regular testing, exams, surgeries, follow ups and so on and so forth – if she had a kind of debilitating disorder that made her unhealthy she wouldn’t have her medical doctors and physicians writing their own pieces (about successful surgeries) on her.

She also couldnt have had 3 healthy children successively, or have the kind of energy and stamina that those who know her attest to if unhealthy.

Just the foreign travel in and out of the third world alone takes down most people at some point even at the peak of health. Obviously she’s healthy with a strong constitution, as Brad has said many times.

Oh and they also wouldn’t perform surgeries on addicts (to the nasty crowd that likes tossing that one out there), and going thru customs with your stash constantly isn’t a great idea either.

      • Esmom says:

Actually — and I’m not saying this is the case with Angelina — I have a relative who has been under intense medical scrutiny for a number of years now and for a number of progressively more serious ailments. The most recent was a hip replacement that resulted in serious complications. She is under the care of numerous doctors and it seems that no one will acknowledge or address what I think is the giant elephant in the room — she is a raging alcoholic. I have to believe that if it’s not the root of many of her medical problems, it’s definitely contributing. So even as she seeks and gets treatment for other things, there is one major disease that is running unchecked. It’s really hard to fathom that medical professionals could address one or more problems but not another at the same time, but there it is.

      • Esmom says:

I specifically said I wasn’t saying this was the case with AJ, I was just giving an example of how someone could be surrounded by doctors and still have a medical condition go missed. I never said she was ill, but you yourself used the words “intense medical scrutiny.” That’s all I meant. Why you seem so intent on seeing evil intentions in everyone’s comments is baffling. All I said was that Angie’s legs looked skeletal. Anyone with eyes can see that. And just because I made that observation doesn’t mean she hasn’t accomplished all the things she has.

  3. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

She has beautiful bone structure. I think she will always have a lovely face, even into her old age.

    • Maya says:

Her bone structure is stunning and yes she is probably going to look beautiful even in her 80s

      • Jayna says:

Her mother was beautiful in her 50s, so I’m sure Angie will age well.

      • Naddie says:

That’ s what I always think whenever I see her. No matter how much she ages, she will be stunning. She is literally beautiful inside, her bone structure is one of a kind.

    • Santia says:

She looks a lot like Caitlyn Jenner now (or is it the other way around – being that Caitlyn Jenner existed after Angelina Jolie). I think Caitlyn is beautiful, so it’s not a dig. I’m just surprised at the resemblance I see now.

      • huh says:

I think it’s the square jaw. Very common in men, not so much in women.
That said, I think Angelina is beautiful but would look better with more weight on her to soften her face up a bit. I also think she was much more beautiful pre plastic surgery.

    • Pandy says:

She sure does! Her legs and arms are too thin but god, that face! She looks super relaxed in these photos as well. I hope she’s at the Oscars too …

    • Priya says:

Agreed. She’s beautiful and always will be a stunner.

  4. HeatherAnn says:

Angelina, stop using the word lovely so much and start eating at least a little. She’s aging fast with her weight.

  5. tracking says:

According to Cinema Sight, which keeps an interesting list of screeners sent out, and a given film’s chances in the various categories, By the Sea screeners were sent out for awards consideration. Not a film done just for fun, Jolie wanted awards. The lack of recognition probably stung, but every Hollywood professional has had that experience.

    • Kate says:

Screeners ended up on torrenting sites, so yeah, they were definitely sent out.

Back when the film was announced, no one was talking about a Best Picture Oscar or anything, but it definitely seemed like they expected it to be part of the conversation this awards season and get some nominations at smaller awards shows and the Globes. It wasn’t being talked about like a meaningless little vanity project at the start, it was being hyped as a quality project.

    • Naya says:

This was my first thought too when I read the article. I was pretty sure I had read about screeners being sent out. If she wanted to just make a “fun film” with her husband, she would probably have financed it herself. She went to a studio. that alone is very telling.

    • meme says:

The lack of people going to see it, even her fans, probably stung far more.

      • Emma - The JP Lover says:

LOL! The lack of Raspberry nominations for “By the Sea,” I’m sure her non-fans stung for more. 🙂

      • CLINIQUA says:

It released in 10 theaters, and at it’s widest wasn’t even in 150. I know it never even came near my town.

        So why would it ‘sting?’

It’s not like ppl stay away from wide releasers she headlines. Unbroken was a X-Mas hit this time last year, and Maleficent made about 800 mil.

    • The other paige says:

My husband got a screener, as a member of academy, about 2 months ago. It is very common for films to be promoted by studios regardless of the reception. Those decisions are made before ink is dry as part of what a studio and /or distributor will do. It is a standard part of these contracts. It is an automatic for actors/writers/directors of angelina stature and not something that she probably even cared about in this case, just trying to get her project done the way she wanted…

      • CLINIQUA says:

Thanks @theotherpaige. I’m no expert, but I figured most of the things having to do with marketing and submissions for crew/cast are contractual obligations. Especially because it was done and financed through the studio system.

Now if she had bought and distributed and thrown screening parties herself (cough) because no one else wanted to…that would be different.

    • Louise177 says:

I don’t know why people assume that Angelina was desperate for awards and devastated by the lack of nominations. Screeners don’t mean anything. Most films send them even when they don’t have a chance. Even Adam Sandler sends out screeners. Besides who knows, the movie could luck out with nominations. I don’t understand why the haters claim Angelina is an egomaniac. I’ve never seen her do or say anything to indicate that.

  6. Liz says:

Angie has always been thin but there have been times, and this is one of them, when she looks skeletal. Thin and skeletal are very different. Also, Angie has generally had very good cosmetic work, but here she looks pulled in the eye/forehead area and around the cheeks/mouth. Her lips which are naturally very full look very different here as if they’ve been enhanced and pulled.

  7. lisa2 says:

She nor Brad have said anything about By the Sea and awards recognition. They both said it would not be commercial and that people would love it or hate it. I don’t get why it is such a big deal. Regarding the screeners I think they wanted a nod for the Cinematographer

She was asked about how she felt about Brad’s nomination. She didn’t just start talking about it out of the blue. She was also asked about being at the Oscars. She said she was still filming in Cambodia and if she finished she would attend. She just got in that night from a 16 hour flight. I don’t see her as bitter sweet about her film. She said she was sleepy; and I imagine she was. but she still showed up and was gracious to the press and fans.

    • Maya says:

Exactly – even when they announced they were going to shot this movie they said it will be a small movie and only going to be a limit release.

Of course every actor/actress wants the ultimate price in their careers which happens to be the Oscars. But unlike most, Brad & Angelina don’t think Oscars only matters but that there are others things in life as well. Sure they must have been sad but probably forgot about it the next day and continued to look ahead.

      • Jib says:

Did they tell you all that?? Or did you listen in on their conversations??

Amazing, the level of detail you have about their lives!!!!

  8. LOT says:

I don’t want to judge or anything, but according to me it makes no sense saying that she doesn’t have any eating disorder, but she “only” has trouble eating when she’s under stress and therefore, yes, she is painfully thin but we should not be worried about that.
Sorry, but she looks like she has an ED and she has been living with that most of her life.
I admire her for the energy she puts in her work, in her humanitarian causes, in being a mother and a spouse, always looking gorgeous and on point despite this issue she has.

    • Goats on the Roof says:

This kind of rationalization really bugs me too. If Angelina has allowed stress and worry to interfere with her food intake to the point where she is as thin as she is now, that is disordered eating! I can’t help but feel if she were a less loved celebrity that there would be more concern.

      • Jayna says:

        I agree.

      • Alice too says:

To me, it’s almost a form of enabling and I don’t understand how people who clearly love and admire her don’t see that. Possibly brought about by the death of her mother and perhaps a period of (very normal) depression following that as that really seems to be when she first noticeably lost too much weight. Not uncommon for people who suffer an emotional shock to lose their appetite. But…if it’s still going on now she perhaps needs to find some other way to deal with it. What your body can withstand at 34 and what it can withstand at 40, particularly as she’s now in menopause, isn’t the same thing. Aside from anything else, the risk of osteoporosis jumps sharply at menopause and a good diet along with exercise is the best way to avoid that.

I don’t think anyone wants to see this woman in a wheelchair 10 years down the road because her vertabrae have crumbled, as happened to a neighbor of mine. I don’t think that’s “concern-trolling”. I may not be a particular fan of the actress, but she’s a human being like the rest of us and she really needs to think about the health consequences of not eating properly, particularly after having her ovaries removed.

    • Esmom says:

Yes, as someone said on another thread, by continually dismissing an ED, it’s perpetuating the stigma and making it seem shameful. As you said, she has a demanding schedule and honestly an ED kinda makes sense, it’s a way to maintain a sense of control over one aspect of your life. My teenage son struggles with the same thing. He doesn’t undereat but his eating and exercise are disordered — it’s his way of coping with stress. And patterns like that are really, really hard thing to change and let go of.

      • Crumpet says:

I don’t understand how discussing the fact that she obviously has an ED is ‘concern trolling’. Nor do I understand why fans feel they must so vociferously deny it and castigate us for saying it. I am not speaking of the “Eat a sandwich” comments – those are stupid and hurtful. But it’s not stupid or hurtful to talk about EDs. Like you said (and the other poster said) it is perpetuating the stigma. Like we were somehow putting her down as a person, which we are not.

What you say about EDs being used as a coping mechanism is spot on. I too struggle to cope with stress in healthy ways at times.

      • Carmen says:

I take exception to the phrase ‘she obviously has an ED.’ Nothing is obvious. When I was in my 20s people thought I was anorexic. I was 5’6″ and weighed 107 lbs. and yet I never starved myself not refused food; it was a combination of a naturally small appetite and a metabolism that was off the charts. Now that I’m older I’ve put on some pounds and sooner or later so will she. I’d like to state here that the worst way in the world to encourage anyone to gain weight is to keep nagging at them to eat more. Nobody likes having food continually shoved in their face.

    • abby says:

its amazing that people are able to diagnose a mental illness over the internet.

    • Lauren II says:

I admire Angie, but she looks unhealthy.
I agree that AJ has had significant plastic surgery work on her face. Her hair looks very thin as well- a sign of malnutrition.
Angie is probably stressed out. Hope she is healthy for her children’s sake.

  9. christina says:

She looks stoned, particularly in the third picture.

    • BNA Fn says:

She might have “looked stoned” to you, but if you were on a plane for sixteen hours, not taking into account the time it takes to get to the airport and leaving the airport to go home and get ready, I’m thinking she might have been up for 24 hours. So looking tired is how anyone would have looked. She came, walked the red carpet, answered questions and was not snapping on anyone is quite admirable.

      • Maya says:

This is just them trying to claim she is on drugs or something – logic doesn’t come into play when it comes to these people.

    • Desertrose says:

I agree. In fact she often has a certain glazed over look in the eyes.

      • Josephina says:

She explained that she is very sleepy due to arriving in the middle of the night to attend the premiere on time.

    • Carmen says:

After staggering off a flight from Kuala Lumpur to New York (21 hours through 13 time zones) my eyes were glazed over and all I wanted to do was crash somewhere for days. East-west jet travel plays hell on your system, especially if she has to be up and somewhere as soon as she lands.

      • Alice too says:

But were you travelling in First Class? It’s actually possible to get a decent sleep (not ideal, but decent) when your seat folds out into a flatbed.

Also, from Cambodia she would have been travelling West to East. Most likely because of good connections and fewer stopovers, Siem Reap to Hong Kong, HK direct to LAX.

Of course everyone deals with jetlag differently, but it’s worth noting that the kids seemed to have been holding up well enough to not be zonked out in their beds at home, impossible to wake up.

      • Carmen says:

I had terrible jet lag both ways, west to east and east to west. Some people find it nearly impossible to sleep on an airplane, and alas, I am one of them.

  10. Jayna says:

Just a silly project for her and Brad. LOL I doubt she would appreciate that comment as someone who wants to be taken seriously as a director who cares about and is passionate about her projects.

    • Ariadne says:

I’d be astonished if either of them saw that as a silly little project. That film took itself very seriously.

    • doofus says:

yeah, I didn’t get the impression that that’s how THEY saw the film.

I think it was an absolute serious attempt at arty film making and it just wasn’t that good.

  11. Maya says:

Looking good Mrs Jolie Pitt and continue to do the movies you want to do despite some people wanting you to be an actress only.

I find it funny that some people thought that because one movie failed that will effect the other movie – these two are the biggest stars in Hollywood and also one of the most powerful ones. Especially Brad who is very powerful and can get any movie greenlit with just his name.

There are rumours that Angelina is going to be busy with Maleficent 2, Salt 2 and Africa is still happening according to Angelina and Eric Roth, Catherine the Great movie as well. Believe me – when you are not only gorgeous and talented but also respected and powerful – you will survive one failure…

  12. Liz says:

Here is a still around her early 20s when she was very thin while interviewing for Girl Interrupted. Her face looked gaunt and reflects her thin body. But there are times like now when she looks way too thin yet her face remains some padding due to fillers.

    https://www.google.com/search?q=girl+interrupted+angelina+interview&client=ms-android-sprint-us&source=android-browser&prmd=vin&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiizaDv87XKAhXG2D4KHdHmA7IQ_AUICCgC#imgrc=f32n93z2XjD7TM%3A

    • Esmom says:

Maybe I’m not looking at the right photos, but I don’t see gaunt. She still has that “baby fat” roundness to her face.

    • Nancy says:

Liz, Girl Interrupted was in my opinion her best acting in a movie. Poor Winona got lost in her shadow. First time I took her seriously. I also liked Gia. She plays the bad girl very well.

    • V4Real says:

Her lips do look different now than from before.

  13. Lucy2 says:

I didn’t realize Pitt was a producer on the film, I was just really confused thinking he had got nominated for acting and I hadn’t noticed.
To be fair, I haven’t seen By the Sea, but in everything I read about it, the words fun and silly don’t seem to fit. And unless they know from the start it’s just a popcorn flick, I think all actors, writers, and directors in some way aim for Oscar recognition.

    • Jayna says:

I know. Serious subject matter about a marriage falling apart.

    • Maya says:

Yep if The Big Short wins then it’s Brad’s second Oscar as producer.

I personally think it’s between The Big Short and Spotlight – both good movies and have an important message to the audience.

      • Don't kill me I'm French says:

I think it will be The Revenant but Inarritu won’t win as best director

      • Maya says:

I will never understand how you can get best director and not best movie and the other way around as well…

Only Leo is being a top pick and maybe the director but I don’t see the movie winning.

      • meme says:

Brad was one of MANY producers on 12 Years A Slave. Ditto for The Big Short. He does pick good scripts and his production company makes good movies.

      • Josephina says:

        @ Meme-

Chiwetel and the other producers have already stated that if Brad’s name was NOT attached to 12 Years A Slave it would NOT have received the financial backing that it did receive.

  14. My Two Cents says:

I think she looks gorgeous and exhausted. I also think she works her fingers to the bone and just simply doesn’t eat much. I’m sure as devoted as she and Brad appear to be to family, and each other, if she had a real problem with eating it would have been addressed. I don’t think anybody should diagnose her with anything without knowing anything about her personally.

  15. Zapp Brannigan says:

Serious question, if this was an overweight actress/singer would comments calling for them to eat a salad and exercise be allowed here? Would commentators be diagnosing diabetes and heart disease for them? Why is everyone reducing an accomplished woman to a dress size, or is it just that it is ok for this particular woman.

    • Maya says:

Nope – don’t you know fatshaming is sinful but thin shaming is totally acceptable and is a “concern” towards to person they thin shame?

    • Naya says:

But people here do remark when an actress puts on weight. And I know I have seen people diagnose weight related illnesses on Jonah Hill and Rob Kardashian articles but thats probably because their weight issues are so extreme. Having said that, I do kinda agree with you. Its one thing to note somebodys weight, its another thing to declare her anorexic or an amphetamine addict. I would be blind not to note that these thighs are very very thin, just as I would be blind not to note Kate Hudsons muscle tone. But I think thats where the observation should end.

  16. Desertrose says:

Would it kill her to wear a little color? She’s at a kids cartoon premiere not a funeral. So morose.

  17. roses says:

As Kaiser said in the post maybe when she is working or project or something is emotionally going with perhaps that’s when she drops in weight. She already thin so it would definitely be noticeable. I recall when she was directing Unbroken she was extremely thin during that time as well. There was hundreds of headlines talking about her thinness then too so who knows.

    • Crumpet says:

People with eating disorders have 100 excuses about why they don’t eat. To me, her decision to live on the rations the prison actors were living on what just that. A perfect excuse not to eat.

  18. aang says:

As the parent of a daughter with an ED I hate to see comments about how beautiful AJ looks. She looks ill. When my duahgter looked like that, sunken cheeks, prominent jaw, huge eyes and skeletal limbs she was constantly told how gorgeous she is, “I wish I had your legs”, “you should be a model”, etc. She was starving and I thought she looked like a praying mantis. That’s what I see in the photos above. Giant head and crazy skinny limbs. If AJ didn’t have the implants she would look even thinner. My daughter still restricts when she is stressed and most likely will for the rest of her life, but now she is aware of the problem and will resort to mechanical eating to avoid putting herself in danger. The comments about how great she looks when she is under weight only make the issue more difficult. I’m not concern trolling, I just hate to see AJ held up as a paragon of beauty. I see a sick woman not an icon.

    • linor says:

I agree. She does not look good and I can’t believe people are so obsessed with a celebrity to ignore what might be actually wrong with her.

    • Tulip Garden says:

Sorry for your daughter’s struggle, I hope she continues to do well.
Your point about holding out someone who appears to be unhealthy (thin or fat) as a paragon of beauty is valid and important. In society today, it just so happens that only the thin need apply for “paragon of beauty” status at all. Appearing Healthy certainly isn’t the measuring stick which is an abundantly clear in this thread alone.
I’m no Angelina fan but I wish her good health and I think her face will always be striking (in one way or the other).

    • Jib says:

I agree, also. My sister has an eating disorder, but her’s is exercise related so she has muscle, but nothing else. AJ seems to not even have muscle. And, I, too, am angry that only those who are extremely thin are considered beautiful. When my sister and I were about 45 and 43 years old, I was 5ft6in and 140 pounds. I was always muscular, so I looked fit and healthy. She was, and still is, 5ft6in and was about 105 pounds. She was always told how beautiful she looked, while I saw someone wasting away, with her hair and her skin taking a hit, too. I felt like the fat sister, it was so bad.

Healthy is being balanced, not being this thin. She’s not an Olympic athlete, exercising so much that she lost weight. She is 40, and skeletal. She absolutely has something going on, and I don’t think she looks beautiful at all. As you said, her head is way too big for her body, and if she didn’t have implants, we’d see it even more. Someone needs to intervene before she does herself serious harm.

  19. maggie says:

She could be a high functioning drug addict. I know surgeons who are and a number of other high achievers. She doesn’t look well. Amal clooney is very thin this is skeletal and is not an insult to her or her super fans. It’s what I see.

    • Carmen says:

Your concern is touching but I have noticed that people who don’t like a certain celebrity have a very pronounced tendency to “worry” about non-existent drug problems or imaginary eating disorders and then claim that this is what they see. Of course it is. People inevitably see what they want to see.

    • Paige says:

      Perfect example of concern trolling.

    • maggie says:

Carmen it’s not concern it’s an opinion based on what I see. You are the troll! Can you not accept another opinion that doesn’t agree with yours without insulting them?
I hardly ever comment on AJ for this very reason. It’s just so weird!!!

    • Linor says:

The difference between Amal Clooney and Jolie is that Amal looks healthy. Jolie looks like she will collapse any minute.
I remember reports about Jolie when she directed her movie ITLOBH and the actors said she barely ate. They would get up early to film and AJ would eat only berries and coffee. Thats all. . if this is true, this is not good. She has 6 young kids. She should seek some help if she is suffering from a ED. I mean it.

      • mee says:

actually I think Amal looks scary thin too, as if she’s not eating either, whether due to stress or an ED. Amal’s limbs are about as thin as Angelina’s. I think they both look unhealthy and as if either stress, an ED, or some other health issue is occurring.

    • Emma - The JP Lover says:

@Maggie, who wrote: “She could be a high functioning drug addict. I know surgeons who are and a number of other high achievers. She doesn’t look well. Amal clooney is very thin this is skeletal and is not an insult to her or her super fans. It’s what I see.”

And here it is … the Female First anthem (other than Angie being a voodoo Priestess who cast a spell agains the Aniston-Pitt marriage, and yes, they are still saying this 11-years later): “She’s a heroin addict! Why won’t anybody ‘out’ her???”

@Kia, who wrote: “Where in her post did maggie express concern? She stated her opinion.”

Maggie–as always–expressed ‘mock concern.’ I would respect your support more if you went over to the Jennifer Aniston thread and posted the same thing to people stating comments are being made out of hate, not expressions of opinion. Is that a challenge you’re brave enough to take?

      • Callie says:

Emma, YOU are the one who brought Jennifer Aniston into this. I don’t understand why EVERY. SINGLE. POST. about Angelina has to somehow bring JA into it! Lame.

  20. Paige says:

Angelina is very thin. She could use about twenty pounds, but if you aren’t her doctor and don’t have your hands on her medical charts, you don’t know what her body is going through. It’s the same with people who are overweight. I can’t claim they have diabetes or other health issues, without knowledge of their medical history. Also, to the people that think she’s a drug addict—seriously?

    • Carmen says:

Angie has admitted openly that she experimented with hard drugs in her late teens and early twenties, so her detractors use this information about her past to insist that she is a hard core drug addict. The only way to deal with people like that is ignore them completely. They don’t deserve the time of day.

      • maggie says:

        Then why didn’t you?

      • V4Real says:

        That’s too funny.

      • CLINIQUA says:

@Maggie, Carmen was responding to @Paige, who asked if people were ‘seriously calling her a drug addict,’ and telling Paige that she ignores those people. She wasn’t actually responding to one of those posts. There’s nothing contradictory about her suggestion to Paige that she ignore them.

      • Lilian says:

@CLINIQUA (love your name) Maggie is referring to Carmen responding to her post above this.

      • V4Real says:

Right. Maggie is responding to @Carmen who said she ignores these people yet she didn’t ignore @maggie’s post above. That’s why it’s funny.

      • CLINIQUA. says:

        @v4real @lilian

Hi guys – what’s even funnier is you don’t get it either. Lol

Carmen is not addressing Maggie or responding to her.

Carmen is addressing Paige’s direct question, she’s not even responding to Maggie. Haha

I mean, I totally get that it would be a good gotcha, but if you read the thread, Carmen ain’t got. 🙂

  21. Catelina says:

She doesn’t look thinner than she usually does to me (except for the tomb raider movies where she had to bulk up a bit) so I’m not too concerned but if it’s true that she ‘forgets to eat’ then that is an irregular behavior, and I don’t know where that information is coming from (did she say so in an interview I missed or something?) but if it’s true, I could understand why someone would think that it could be a sign of disordered eating habits.

  22. extracookie says:

Yes, it was a little fun family project. It stumbled into cinemas by accident. And Christian Berger had nothing else to do at the time but to join in and it was all fun, fun, fun. No award-winning hopes attached.

    • CLINIQUA says:

Why are you so angry and lashing out? ANGELINA didn’t describe it as ‘fun,’ that was Kaiser’s description. Angelina never said she had no award aspirations or no plans either, so why are you acting as if she’s given interviews denying her project was serious…or writing in blood she would not submit screeners?

It seems people are making themselves mad over fiction.

Angelina has said many times awards are silly, and she doesn’t believe the hype. But she doesn’t demand not to be on award screeners because she knows how the business works. Its recognition and is a valuable commodity.

If what others say is true, that there were screeners of BTS for organizations, I’m not surprised – she’d want anyone on her project, from cinematographers, to actors, to writers to be acknowledged even if it was only a small probability. Studios and agents probably expect it to. You throw everything in the air once you’re done and see what sticks.

She wouldn’t withhold a chance for them to be recognized even if she wasn’t going to be. You make a product, you put it out there – especially when using other people’s money. Period.

  23. Grant says:

She always appears unhealthily thin to me so this is nothing new. I actually quite like the little miniskirt and those fabulous black pumps though.

  24. Jade says:

Ah the couple who gets plastic surgery together stays together.

  25. marie says:

AJ has always appeared to have a very high metabolism (it looks as if Shiloh does too) I have a daughter that is 30 with the same metabolism and must eat more than the average person to look like she eats at all. As much as Brad is quoted as saying Angie takes on…great and actively involved mother, service work, film work etc, I imagine it takes her a lot of food to look average weight. And spending time with so many people in need I doubt that she hoards food at all!! It would seem to me that she would be the type to eat healthy, buy might forget a meal now and then too (as do I admittedly ) so unlike the typical person if she skips a meal I imagine it shows.
as for plastic surgery, judging from their every day clothing and the roles both of them take on I don’t imaging them being the type, and I don’t see it. All of our faces change with age and get a little fuller sometimes, but she stays away from the sun for the most part and takes care, but neither seem to be obsessed with their looks.
BTW, when she did Laura Croft she had to do 3 months of body building and protein shakes to put on weight and putting on weight seemed to be the most difficult part for them because of her metabolism….they say so on the video out takes. She said she loved it and finally felt like she was in a woman’s body because of her natural thinness. She just has more important things to think about now. She actually looks very healthy to me. Funny I was in Paris for an extended time and nobody was ever having this conversation about her….especially to this extent. Audrey Hepburn was the same and nobody shamed her for it.
get over it people, you don’t even know her……how about some conversations about her talent!!

  26. Andrea says:

I agree with the comments that Angelina looks skeletal here. There’s at point at which extreme thinness, even in the case of someone who is naturally very thin, starts to look alarming and unnatural, and I think she has reached that point. However, I think part of what is contributing to that appearance is her body type – her limbs have always been scrawny looking, even when she appears to be at a healthy weight. I think she’s probably 10-15 lbs under her typical weight here, which is a lot of weight, but doesn’t necessarily mean that she has an eating disorder. There are people who easily and unintentionally lose a significant amount of weight when they are very stressed (I am one of them). And when that happens to an already very thin person, the result is a skeletal appearance like this. I just don’t know if the loss of appetite associated with stress can be considered an eating disorder; maybe so. But I wouldn’t call it anorexia. In other words, I don’t believe AJ is intentionally trying to be this thin because she thinks she’d look fat at a healthy weight.

  27. Snowpea says:

Angelina always looks haunted to me as if she is struggling with a hidden torment.

  28. Jayna says:

I agree I’ve followed Angie since before Billy Bob and I don’t remember ever thinking she was unhealthy when I saw her or too thin for any extended length of time. She was a thin girl naturally who had thin arms and legs. I have arms and shoulders just like her and have been thinner before where people commented and it’s a fine line that you cross over. So I get it as far as the arms. But I never ever looked at her as fragile or too thin until years later when she did look that way off and on.

  29. Sea Dragon says:

I wonder if her hairline is receeding. Though he’s so beautiful to me, she could be bald and it wouldn’t change how I feel about her face.
I, like so many others, think she may have an eating disorder. When I was anorexic, I knew exactly what to say to sound like I didn’t have a problem. My weight was 106 pounds for two years so it was even easy to convince my doctor I’m very active and always under a lot of stress. Rarely was there a day I wasn’t subject to comments from friends and strangers. I had anorexia athletica and if I wasn’t at the gym or running, I would hold a yoga pose, enjoying the burn as I studied. Maybe Jolie is similarly rigid in her daily habits. I’d be very curious to find out.

    • CLINIQUA. says:

      Nope @seadragon

Angie just has a coveted high forehead. Not unlike Tyra Banks or Sade. It’s very broad, always has been.

Receding hairlines typically will have thin hair and you can see scalp when they wear bangs (think Nancy Grace).or pull their hair back. Angie’s hair is thick at the root from right at her hairline, even though it’s fine.

Angie’s also not one for working her baby hairs, and she has cute baby hairs but she brushes everything back and gives face.

I love big foreheads. I have one too. Gah forbid a woman have a Teresa Guidice forehead or one like our fav friend that needs to be surgically altered because it’s too low and cromagon-ish. Lol

    • Liquorice says:

I think she has naturally thin legs and arms, but if you look back to her pics when she was 17 – around 24, she was never this thin. I do think she does the celeb thing of doing only one meal a day, or maybe one meal every two days. Too thin and she look frail. She needs a good smoothie and micro&macro nutrient boost. Won’t put on weight but make her look healthier. I could be her nutritionist: I’d put lots of organic greens, bananas, coconut oil, tablespoon of oats, apples, pears, ginger, a big scoop of hemp protein, and lots of lemon juice in her smoothie and make her drink one every day!

      • Sea Dragon says:

It’s possible that she has a glass or two of something akin to your juice blend daily just to keep her energy level up. She has a rigorous schedule much of the time even, I’d imagine, with numerous caretakers for the kids when she’s home. And maybe that’s all she consumes? I mean, she doesn’t look like she eats much of anything.
I’d also assume that she feels the same pressure to be underweight like every other actress. It’s a difficult standard to maintain and thusfar, she’said doing an excellent job keeping to her skeletal self.

  30. Aubrey says:

@jayna the bottom picture is her and thornton’s wedding day. In 2000

  31. mello says:

this woman doesn’t belong on a red carpet right now – she should be in some rehab center. this is alarming.

    so sad.

  32. Liquorice says:

I thought Margin Call was a better film than The Big Short. I felt like Michael Moore was screaming at me throughout the latter.

  33. Josephina says:

So… Angie has been proactive about her health re breast cancer and ovarian cancer, yet her doctor’s missed out on the ED disorder??

I agree that she is thinner than usual but her skin looks healthy. Clearly she has a very high metabolism and when under stress (which is apparently often given her very busy and demanding work ethic) she eats less than usual.

Slandering her with ED is out of line. Angelina is actually naturally thin unlike most of Hollywood’s actresses.
