RHONY’s Carole Radziwill, 52, is in a relationship with a 29 year-old chef

Real Housewives of New York personality Carole Radziwill recently opened up to Page Six about her relationship with a younger man. 52-year-old Carole met 29-year-old chef Adam Kenworthy though fellow RHONY-er Luann de Lesseps. The two have been dating for about a year and a half. Carole implied that some “me time” was imperative to the success of their pairing.

I find that when Adam [Kenworthy] and I spend a lot of time together, but when we don’t see each other for a weekend or one or two days, and then we see each other again, it kind of rekindles that original feeling we had when we first met. I don’t mean that in a bad way, I think it’s important to have separate but equal lives.

[From Page Six]

I think that’s pretty much true for all couples, right? I don’t think Carole is treading on any innovative new ground here, but I guess it’s helpful advice for anyone who could be potentially smothering their partner with attention.

Full confession: I’ve never been able to make it through any episode of any Real Housewife show ever. That being said, I’m kind of curious as to what motivated Carole to take part in RHONY in the first place. A recent profile of her on The Daily Beast called her the “Thinking Man’s Housewife,” which is an apt description, as she was an Emmy award-winning journalist for 15 years. She was married to Anthony Radziwill, who was Jacqueline Kennedy’s nephew and Prince Stanislaw of Poland’s son. After Carole’s BFFs Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and John F. Kennedy Jr., died in a tragic plane crash, she channeled her pain from the loss into her 2005 memoir, What Remains: A Memoir of Fate, Friendship and Love, which was a New York Times best-seller.

If that’s not enough, Carole’s “little black book” (if she has one) would also store the numbers of George Clooney and Ralph Fiennes, whom she also dated. So, the burning question remains, why in the ever-loving hell did this journalist ever end up mixed up with the Real Housewives franchise? As I’m not overly familiar with the other housewives, this may be a moot question, but one I am still curious about.

Also, this story hits a little close to home for me, as I dated a guy who was almost 20 years younger than me for a while and have seen first hand that age is truly just a number. My ex loved the music I grew up on and we actually had a lot in common – I guess you could chalk it up to his maturity and my Peter Pan complex. Of course, I went into the relationship knowing it wasn’t going to be a permanent thing. Let them have their fun, I say.

Yes this was a big issue on last season’s RHONY. I like Carole. She’s cool, no BS…it does make me wonder why she’s on the show. But her and Adam are cute together. Good for her.

    • V4Real says:

Yes this was a storyline on last season’s show. LuAnne disapproved of the relationship because she thought it was inappropriate for Carol to date her chef.

On a different note it’s refreshing to hear that a writer for this blog says she had a relationship with a much younger guy and that his age didn’t really factor into their bond.

    • Whatabout says:

I think she’s made a few comments about doing the show for money and selling more books. I think there was a long lag time between her first two.

Also anyone else feel like she’s trying hard to be Carrie Bradshaw? She will say or do something and I’m like I think they said that on Sex and the city. It’s strange.

I watch this RHNY from time to time and I’ve read all of Carole’s books, What remains is amazing! I adore her , the reason she says she did the show was a sort of social experiment. For all of her connections thru marriage and otherwise she doesn’t have a snobbish bone in her body

  3. KB says:

She kind of looks like she could be the grandmother of Leo’s new girlfriend.

  4. islandwalker says:

I honestly thought the thumbnail was Steven Tyler. Oops.

  5. Abbott says:

She’s on for the same reason most of the other ladies are: brand building.

  6. Bridget says:

I thought that book was about her husband’s death?

And poor Lee Radziwill, passed over for Jackie even when it comes to a mention about her own son.

  7. Jaana says:

He seems to be really into her. I love it.

  8. blue banana says:

well since the writer of this article has self-admittedly never “made it thru an entire RHW episode ever” – i’ll tell you how: she’s just as bad as all the rest of them. Just because someone has a good pedigree on paper, is smart, and capable of having an intellectual’s career – means they’re not petty and socially vapid?

    • Rhiley says:

I agree. I pretty much quit watching RH several seasons ago- when they got rid of creepy Alex McCord, Jellybean Kelly, and Jill (who made great television by the way) and now has the boring menopausal bunch who are all crying over their divorces. But I have seen enough to know this woman ain’t no different than the rest of them.

God I miss Alex and Simon- they were so gross, but fun to watch.

      • Esmom says:

Ha, that was the only one I watched, too. Recently I was out running and had a flashback of Kelly jogging through NYC traffic and all her craziness, lol.

      • BunnyBear says:

Lol I miss creepy Alex and Simon and their creepy kids. I forget their actual names but one recapper just called them Lumiere and Cogsworth.

      • outhousecat says:

You’re so right. Personally I quit watching when they brought back Betheny. She annoys me in a bad way, and I refuse to watch anything she’s in. Therefore, no more RHoNY for me.

    • NeNe says:

      +1

      @outhousecat:

I’m with you on Bethenny. I have no idea why they brought her back. I guess to stir the pot. She is pathetic, and looks desperate. She’s too hungry!

This is what I was saying in the Leo D post. I find it icky when men/women date/marry people that were born and they were already adults in their 20’s.

ETA: I find it weird that you could easily be that persons’ mother/father/grandparent (in Steven Bauer’s case).

    • teacakes says:

A large age gap is not an issue if the younger person is at a relatively mature/adult age – I would never side-eye a 29 or 39 year old getting with someone older.

The younger person being barely legal or extremely young is when it gets gross, like most of Leo’s model girlfriends. Like they’re barely old enough to be a year or two out of high school and THAT’S what he’s after? But, it’s a free country, they’re legally adults…… still, it’s a touch skeevy.

    • Kelly says:

I am 51 and I have a rule. If you could have come out of there, you’re not putting anything in there😁.

      • jsilly4e says:

        LOL Kelly!

And what I wrote above is just my opinion. Find it icky if there is a huge age gap no matter what the current age.

    • swak says:

I find it interesting that we slam the men for marrying someone 20 years younger, but not the women. I find it weird, but it’s their lives and I have no dog in the fight. I wouldn’t do it but that’s me.

      • jsilly4e says:

        I agree Slak.

That’s why in the Leo D post I wrote both men and women and how I was looking at Sam Taylor-Johnson and Steven Bauer. Also, as long as the other person is of legal age and is not being abused in any way I don’t care. Personally, would not do it.

    • CL says:

      wrong topic!

  10. nicegirl says:

I don’t watch the show anymore, but I used to really like Carole. I thought she was a cool, no bs, laid back gal. But then she started to grate on my nerves – she was rather elitist toward other women and she has a very high opinion of herself – I guess we all should – but her attitude just got to me. Good for her though – be happy

  11. Mike says:

He became involved with RHONY when the Countess LuAnn brought him as a family friend and chef in the Hamptons. Carole started hooking up with him soon after. It became a point of contention because he is her niece’s ex.

  12. Kelly says:

I thought she was dating one of her friend’s son?

  13. susan says:

yikes. her face is made out of plastic! she’s 7 years younger than me but whoah.

  14. bcgirl says:

clicked here to see if anyone was talking about John Jr. or the glorious, other-worldly CBK. nope, darn it. I wish we could still talk about them.

  15. shannon says:

I remember her articles from Glamour – sorry I didn’t read anything else. She def. looks like a housewife. Nice of her to shill her show while “promoting” her relationship. #phony.

  16. Mollie says:

Somebody wants to be a celebrity chef and is looking for publicity.

  17. NeNe says:

She comes off as very desperate. I watched the show for about 1/2 hour, and she is so dull and boring. WTF is she doing on the show. As far as I can tell, she isn’t bringing anything to the show.

  18. Christeena says:

    She’s such a famehore – just go away…

  19. Sara says:

Her teeth are so big it’s distracting.
