I called it weeks ago! As soon as Gigi Hadid started getting pap’d in LA and New York solo, looking sort of sad and out of sorts, I knew that something was up. I even speculated – based off of some tabloid reporting – that Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid were through last week. And now E! News is confirming it. Zayn and Gigi are over after seven months together. They’re young and impulsive and “sources” believe that it’s possible they may get back together.
Another young Hollywood couple has decided to call it quits. E! News exclusively confirms that model Gigi Hadid and singer Zayn Malik have broken up after dating for roughly seven months. While the reason behind their split remains unknown at the moment, a source tells us that there has been some rough patches within the relationship for a bit now.
“During her birthday they were fighting,” an insider tells E! News, adding that they weren’t doing well then, and have “broken up and got back together a few times.”
Another source confirms the breakup, but also reveals that there may be a reconciliation in the near future, telling E! News, “Zayn and Gigi did break up, but they can likely get back together tomorrow. It’s all very unclear what’s going on between them now. They been having some issues lately that involved communication and getting along.”
The source adds, “Gigi is really sad about this, though, and in a way would like to work it out. It’s more about that constant contact with Zayn that she misses and they did get very close.”
Us Weekly confirmed the split but they had no new details. The vibe I was getting – and which I’m still getting – is that Zayn pulled the plug for unknown reasons. I said last week that he’s crazy if he thinks he can upgrade to a bigger, more high-profile model, and all of the Zayn-loonies made it sound like Zayn and Gigi were never going to last because reasons. Whatever, y’all. I thought they were perfect together, and I also thought that Gigi helped Zayn get to the next level after he left One Direction. Before Gigi, many saw him as just some punk who made a terrible career decision. Gigi “legitimatized” him in a lot of ways – he wasn’t just some punk, he was the next Justin Timberlake, and Gigi was his muse.

Exactly. People act like Zayn is good in the relationship department because he’s good looking. He cheated on his fiancé for crying out loud. He needed the status Gigi gave him and after he got his album out he didn’t need her anymore.
GiGi was a rebound. That never works out. He never had time to even move past Perrie, and he’s in love with GiGi? That’s not healthy and it generally doesn’t work.

He had several girlfriends before Perrie, one of whom confirmed he cheated on her and others where it was rumoured. I don’t think he cheated with Perrie on any of them, but this was earlier in the One Direction and I didn’t really keep up with any of the details.
He’s was with Perrie since he was 19.He was 17-18 early in 1D. He didn’t have any serious girlfriends then. Its a bit over the top to say cheated on “everyone” as if its a fact. He cheated on perrie they were in a committed relationship thats a fact and a douche move. But the rest is just stories from when he was a teenager and who knows how serious he really was about those girls. His ex Rebecca ferguson says nice things about him for what its worth.
Maybe Zayn and Taylor Swift can get together? We can call them “Zaylor”

So they’re 21 and 23. They have trouble communicating and getting along, and in their 7 month relationship they’ve broken up and gotten back together several times.
Sounds like they have incredible sex and that’s about it. As for no reason for the split. At that age and after 7 months who needs a reason? Sounds like they have several.

In what world did Gigi legitimize Zayn’s career? It’s not like she’s this highly respected idol in Hollywood. She is a socialite turned average model. They’re both good looking, but in no way is Gigi the only option for him. He could pretty much get anyone in young Hollywood.

He got PR out of it but to say she legitimised him is a stretch. She’s the daughter of a reality star whose mothers claim to fame is being married to rich men. Its not as if she is respected in the music industry or amongst a general audience as some kind of icon of cool. He wants that Frank Occean respectability. They’re in their twenties. A time for “trying on” people – dating and having fun and experiencing life. Time enough to get serious on down the road. I love Zayn – always have. He is incredibly gorgeous and so generous and loving to his family and he’s a helluva singer. When he finds the right person he’ll settle down.

Honestly, I don’t think a 7 month run is doing too bad for how young they are, and especially given that they’re both taking off in their personal careers. I’m sure she’s sad, but she’s also beautiful and rich, so I’m sure she’ll eventually wipe those tears away with a few hundred dollar bills and go cuddle up with Joe Jonas or something. 😛
