Johnny Depp is making Amber Heard move out of their downtown LA condo

wenn23007817

One of the things that impressed me the most about Amber Heard during the entire divorce drama was that you really got a sense that Amber was a loyal friend to her girlfriends and that her girlfriends are very loyal to her. I feel like Johnny tried to separate Amber from her friends many times, but she managed to create a safe space for herself in the company of her female friends, and that’s what saved her (in more ways than one, probably). That’s what I thought about when I read this story at People Magazine – Johnny Depp is kicking Amber out of the condo they shared in LA, so now Amber doesn’t have a place to live.

Johnny Depp is breathing a sigh of relief after settling his nasty divorce with Amber Heard.

“Johnny is very relieved that it’s all over,” a source close to the actor tells PEOPLE.

Not only can Depp now put the divorce behind him, he also gets to keep his downtown Los Angeles condo, where an alleged domestic violence incident occurred between the former couple on May 21, two days before Heard filed for divorce.

“Johnny’s downtown condo was not part of the divorce settlement, and Amber has to move her things out,” says the source. A rep for Heard did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The actress has been busy filming her latest movie, Justice League, in London for the last several weeks.

[From People]

I remember thinking that it was a little bit weird that the divorce settlement didn’t include any property for Amber, so now she’s leaving the marriage with no place to live. Then again, it’s completely possible that she didn’t want any of the real estate Johnny owns because of the sh-tty memories she had there. I hope she used the $7 million settlement and starts fresh. And in the meantime, she has plenty of female friends who will be more than happy to let her stay in their guest rooms.

As for Johnny and Amber’s separate career futures, E! News spoke to The Hollywood Reporter’s Ashley Cullins about what kind of long-term effects the divorce will have on Depp and Heard’s careers. Cullins doesn’t think there will be much of an effect.

“The good news for both of them is that people have very short attention spans. They’ve both got work lined up, projects coming up through 2018. By 2018, nobody’s going to remember this happened. So I think they’ll just get right back to work, leave it behind them, and people will forget it and move on to something sexier and shinier tomorrow. I think Johnny has spent a very long time building his career, and a lot of people came to his defense when this happened, so I really don’t think, moving forward, this is going to hurt him. He has an H.G. Wells project that he’s working on, The Invisible Man, he’s voicing a character in the Gnomeo and Juliet sequel, both of these things he’ll be working on for the next couple of years, and by then, I don’t think anybody’s going to be talking about his nasty divorce with Amber Heard. I haven’t heard anyone say that they’re not going to worth with either of them over this. So, both Johnny and Amber seemed to have dodged any negative career ramifications so far.”

[From E! News]

Yeah, I’m not so sure. While I think Depp saved some money by prolonging his battle with Amber, his image did take a major hit. Of course, there are still Depp-defenders on every misogynistic corner of the internet. But how many of them will go see Pirates of Caribbean 5? My guess is that Pirates 5 is going to bomb in a major way, and beyond that… people ARE talking about Depp’s unprofessionalism and out-of-control antics. Studios have an increasingly lower tolerance for a 50-something abuser who shows up to the set hours late and holds up production because he’d rather party on E and slice open his hand.

    Good.

    • Sammy B says:

That’s what everyone said about Tom Cruise after Katie divorced him and all the Scientology stuff came out but he still works and did great numbers with Mission Impossible. Sure he wasn’t accused of DV but people discount how big Cruise and Depp are overseas. The last pirates flopped here but did well enough overseas that they’re making another. If he goes to rehab and cleans up his outer image I don’t see this being remembered by the public. If he continues to act this way hiscareer is certainly over.

      • Liz says:

Tom’s image took a huge toll on his image. People make fun of him and think he’s weird.

      • Harryg says:

I’m just reading Leah Remini’s book! It’s good.

      • noway says:

Twitter and social media image is different than how much they make, otherwise Kanye would be President. Depp was already having trouble with blockbusters not performing well, but he is a good actor if he goes back to better material, he will probably be fine even on the twitter world. Now Amber who knows. She could have a backlash from corporate Hollywood for not being “quiet” enough, but I agree with the article it probably won’t have much effect and it is up to her. Unlike Depp, I am not sure she is a good actress. Saw her in Rum Diary and she was okay, but I don’t really know if she has acting chops. Unless Hollywood changes quickly, female leads have very short shelf lives, so she could have a problem. Still if her projects end up being great she should be fine too. All up to both of them how their careers work out.

  2. Belb says:

    Both need to move on.

    • Who ARE These People? says:

She clearly expressed that she wanted to move on by filing for divorce.

There was nothing wrong in her being involved in the legal aspects of
the divorce for a few months. They were married – it takes a little
      longer than removing her toothbrush.

    • Bread and Circuses says:

Yeah, the settlement was, like, hours ago. How come their existences aren’t completely separated and serene yet? *eye-roll*

    • Jaded says:

That’s exactly what she’s doing – Depp? Not so much, he’ll move on to more drinking and drugging.

      • Carla says:

No, that’s exactly what he’s doing as well. He wants nothing to do with her, it seems. Hopefully he won’t move on to more drinking and drugging as he has two beautiful kids who love him and need him.

      • Who ARE These People? says:

His kids are mostly growing up without him, and given his temper and addictions it may be better for them that way.

  3. Little Darling says:

Well, she shouldn’t be living there post divorce. She’ll find her own place, cleanse the bad juju off of her (hopefully) with some sage and begin to heal. She doesn’t have to and shouldn’t live someplace that is his in this aftermath. I would only imagine she doesn’t want to either.

  4. jeanpierre says:

I wouldn’t call myself a fan but I appreciated him as an actor, I saw many of his movies and he is part of my childhood through those movies. Now he is dead to me. I’ll never give him a coin again and won’t even bother to bootleg anything he stars in. I can’t stand to see his face anymore.
I don’t believe in the short attention span thing. This will be remembered.

    • Lahdidahbaby says:

Honestly, I have to agree with you, jeanpierre. I know I am certainly not going to forget it.

    • vaultdweller101 says:

Me too. I used to like him as an actor. Now, I think he’s the human equivalent of a garbage dumpster fire. He’s a bloated nightmare mess of anger and drugs and bullshit delusions, and that’s all I need to know to never see any of his movies ever again.

      • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

” He’s a bloated nightmare mess of anger and drugs and bullshit delusions..”

Perfection. I don’t think he will ever return to prior leading man status. In fact, I think he will continue to self -destruct to the point of no return. He looks as though he (physically) is just about done now. Sayonara.

    • Nicole says:

He is awful, he and Disney are done for me. Sorry future kids.

      • ImFlying says:

Actually, you are doing yourself and your future children a huge favor with the being done with Disney thing. I am surprised how many people still are not aware how occultic Disney is. All of their productions have it, and always have. Walt Disney was hardly the kindly meek man people seem to think he was. And as for JD, it goes without saying. He won’t even watch his own movies because he knows that demons are working through him. He admits that much. He looks like death. Imagine sitting next to him…heebie jeebies.

    • Wren says:

I used to like him too. I’ll continue the enjoy the movies I liked before all this came out, but I’m not going to rush out and see any of his new stuff. He will not rob me of a couple of my favorite movies, but neither will I be giving any more money to his endeavors.

    • lucy2 says:

I was a big fan of his for a long time – he did interesting movies, gave great performances, and lived a very low key, private life with Vanessa and his kids.
But man have things changed. Even before the abuse came to light, I no longer was interested in his work, he’s been making bad decisions for a while now. Now with the abuse, I don’t want to see him.
He really needs to go away for a while, leave Amber alone (including telling his buddies not to bad mouth her), and get help for his issues.

    • Santia says:

I saw Through the Looking Glass while all of the divorce saga was going on, and that’s all I could think about. So, no, I don’t think people have short memories at all.

    • Tiffany :) says:

I was a long time fan, thinking he was both really hot and really talented. The woman that did my hair used to have this poster of him at a piano across from the styling chair, and I used to gaze longingly at it. No more. He is disgusting to me now. I can’t believe that he treated her that way, and then tried to paint HER as the bad guy.

I won’t be able to see a movie with him and separate the evil from the acting.

    • Crumpet says:

      Ditto.

  5. tracking says:

He bought it prior to the marriage, so she had no claim to it. Didn’t she ask for it in the settlement though? Regardless, as others have said, I’m sure she’ll be happy to move on.

    • sisi says:

I think her side demanded that she were to live there without his precence while the divorce was ongoing

    • Nicole says:

Yea she wasn’t entitled to it if it was purchased before the marriage and yes she wanted to live there during the divorce

    • khaveman says:

Yep, she has no claim to prior purchase unless he signed it over. Move along, hon.

      • Who ARE These People? says:

She didn’t make a claim. She only asked to live there for the transition. She was always going to be, um, “moving along.” Hon.

  6. Squiggisbig says:

Not super surprised she didn’t get any property as he probably owned most of those things prior to the marriage so they wouldn’t have been in the pot of assets to get divided and presumably he sold all of those paintings to have enough liquid assets to pay the settlement. But best of luck to her and I will not be seeing any of his movies ever again.

I am very curious as to what kind of financial arrangement he made with Vanessa Paradise when they split and wonder if that led to Amber initially asking for a lot more money than she settled for and for spousal support.

    • Starkiller says:

I doubt he had much of a financial arrangement with Vanessa, if any. She’s a huge star in France and the rest of Europe-she has enough money of her own to be more than comfortable.

    • Lindsay says:

They were also together longer, she was there when he made a large portion of his fortune, they bought property together, and had two?(IIRC) children together. The circumstances were very different. Plus, if like she says they didn’t have an abusive relationship and he ended it then their split would not be seen as a huge betrayal she needed to be punished for.

      • Rose of Sharon says:

        Lindsay:

        Their “split?”

Mr. Depp left his common-law wife of 14 years and their children. That is not a “split.” That is a seismic shock.

    • Valois says:

Vanessa Paradis is a huge star in Europe?
No snark intended, but I really didn’t know that. I’m European and lived in several European countries and she was definitely not a star in any of them. I thought she was popular in France only.

      • jeanpierre says:

No she’s not. In France she Is a household Name but not Much more than that since a good decade. She had a brilliant career but it’s sure her income has never touched johnny’s. I think she needed the money and she was entitled to it anyway.

    • Shirleygail says:

She originally asked for a lot less of everything. Him painting her as a liar, cheater, adulteress, etc upped the ante. Amber handled herself with wisdom and maturity – attributes I was unaware she possessed before this debacle. I’m very impressed with her and will keep my eye on her (she’s in Justice League, so I’ll be seeing her for sure!!). I was never a huge fan, but I do respect some of his earlier work (Gilbert Grape, Ed Scissorhand era).

  7. Dana says:

Depp really is looking pretty bad both looks wise and career. I do think he has lost fans because of this. Amber seems to gained some for the way she handled herself. I thought 7 million was a pretty low figure but it was worth cutting her losses and moving on. Godh by 2018 depp could be married again

    • Girly says:

He has not lost fans because of this, and she has gained more haters than fans. The public isn’t on her side.

      • Lady D says:

He has lost fans. Many, many fans. His little stumpy finger trick traveled the world via the web, not to mention his psycho temper tantrum. His addictions are there for everyone to see now and not everyone is going to continue to support the abusive drug addict.

      • Girly says:

@Lady D He still has millions of fans and the majority of people in the real world don’t care about celebrities’ personal lives.

      • Tiffany :) says:

“He has not lost fans because of this”

I know that is a lie, because I am one of the fans he lost. You are wrong.

      • Elizabeth says:

@Grily oh yes he has!!!!! I know a few who used to drool over his dirty @#$! they are done with him never been a fan only thing I can stand it in is potc I wont be seeing 5

“short attention span” So this a#$%le speaks for everybody don’t think so!

      • Tara says:

He lost me. That’s for sure.

      • Shelly says:

I’d say she has won in the opinion poll now, what with her giving her 7 million to charity. I will personally see all her movies from now on. Or at least buy a ticket.
and he looks like the piece of crap he turned into and I will never again watch a movie of his, and I used to be a big fan.

  8. Merchant Smearer says:

“I don’t believe in the short attention span thing. This will be remembered.” This has left a mark on me, too.

    • Naya says:

I am sceptical too. I think people will remember but move past it where he is concerned but not her. Look up any Robin Givens interview on YouTube and you will find people slamming her for “setting up” Mike Tyson for domestic abuse over 20years ago. Even in the Barbara Walters interview where he admits in her presence to beating her, all the YouTube comments are about how Robin tricked him into that public admission. To be clear, they are still trolling a woman twenty years after she accused her ex who served time for rape of beating her. A man who actually admitted that he did abuse her. Many of those commenters weren’t even born when that drama went down.

That’s why I dismissed that article. This will always play against Amber. Her QI is shattered and she is in an industry where she only has a few more years before she is “expired goods”. Johnny on the other hand will have his Oscar in a few years. The lifetime achievement awards will roll in shortly there after. F*ck this f*cked up planet.

      • Merchant Smearer says:

“F*ck this f*cked up planet.” You get no argument from me. If you have a better place to go, I’m with you.

      • FingerBinger says:

I don’t believe Depp will have an oscar in a few years. He’s been phoning it in for the last 10 years with black mass as the exception. Unless he does a 180 on the films he chooses he’s not winning any award.

      • TexasB says:

So are we pretending that Amber is a good actress now? She’s lucky she’s gotten this far in the first place.

      • Noname says:

@TexasB- She’s subpar at best, but even subpar actors find work.

As far as Depp, I am going to have disagree here on the phoning it in for the past ten years. I can see where Pirates of the Caribbean and Dark Shadows wouldn’t attract certain moviegoers but they aren’t as bad as Mordecai.. that was god awful. Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass were also decent. I have yet to see Black Mass. I am not sure I will be able to watch Johnny Depp any time soon though. Maybe if he does a Mike Tyson redemption tour? Maybe. I can separate Tom Cruise from Scientology but it was how he treated Nicole Kidman during the divorce and how he tried to discredit her that completely turned me off to him permanently. You don’t treat the mother of your children the way Tom treated Nicole. That’s purely narcissistic/sociopathic behavior. Is Depp an addict who displays this behavior while he uses or is he just using the addiction issues as an excuse to cover up this behavior?

      • Laura R says:

@noname, I’ve seen black mass, the movie is really really good. Like it or not , its One of his best performances and movies in the last years.

      • FF says:

Oscars aren’t awarded on merit really, it’s about advertising and who’s been “owed” one long enough after “doing right” by the industry and not calling out it’s bs while making it stuff to shill, and making it look good.

So long as he doesn’t create any further embarrassment (i.e. that can’t be avoided by scapegoating and creating confusion) he’ll get a lifetime achievement, at least.

You need to remember that he’s always been volatile, angry, and comtrolling. He’s been quite open about his jealousy too, so obviously this is all Amber’s fault, and – barring any further mess – there’ll be industrial pressure on to support him.

He’s not an irrefutable liability to the industry yet and it can be turned around by cleaning him up and undermining her.

I also don’t see him letting this go. He’ll keep trying to get at her. Just indirectly. She got away after all.

Just look at the phrasing in that sourced article: very pro-him.

  9. Kate says:

Depp’s career has been circling the drain for some time. Jack Sparrow is his last great chRcter and even that stopped being great with the second Pirates movie. Now it seems, sadly, he has been circle the drain as a person for a while now too. Hollywood either breeds these people or it attracts them but is certainly seems there are very few healthy individuals in show business.

  10. Andrea1 says:

Jezebel did a good coverage on this whole messy saga… They remained neutral and that’s what I loved about them. No one knows the truth only both of them do. I’m glad it’s over and they can start afresh

    • Dirty Martini says:

My feelings exactly. Never saw his huge appeal……admittedly I liked several of his films, yet just didn’t understand his personal
Hype. But never thought much of her either. After this drama, I’m glad for it to Be over because I don’t trust the truth telling on either. So she didn’t get real estate. She got cash. Just move on…….she can now afford her own place.

      • Who ARE These People? says:

No one said she hasn’t moved on. The People article makes it sound as if she was holding out like some kind of squatter, but that doesn’t mean it’s the truth. It’s all about his relief. What about her relief? I’m sure she has other places to go. Lord knows he does.

      • Dirty Martini says:

It was the premise of the headline on this site that she was “made”‘to leave “their” condo. Hence the phrase “move on”.

      • Katie says:

Well you’ve pretty much accepted EVERYTHING ELSE that People printed as truth. Why not this???! Oh that’s right…because it wasn’t Pro-Amber!!

      • DIrty Martini says:

For the love of literacy — why these repeated references to People magazine when I haven’t posted a blasted thing about People magazine? Sheesh…….complete leaps of illogical and unsubstantiated connection.

  11. Girly says:

Obviously how he acted on the fifth Pirates production is not how he always acts. Ashley is right.

    • Lindsay says:

Insurance companies use past behavior to predict future behavior all the time. He needs to be insurable. Just because you rack up a few DUIs doesn’t mean you always drive drunk or that you cause an expensive accident every time you do but they can raise your premiums to insane rates or flat out deny you.

Should the Criminal Minds guy get his job back because he only assaulted two staff members in 12 years? I mean that isn’t ALWAYS how he acts.

Not even abusive addicts are horrible people 100% of the time. For a lot of it they are nice and fun that doesn’t mean they deserve to be enabled.

      • Wren says:

Isn’t that how Lindsay Lohan finally stopped getting work? She became a big enough mess that she was uninsurable? Though I rather doubt that will become an issue with Depp. If you’ve got the budget to hire him you aren’t strapped for cash, and he’s such a big name that he may be considered worth the extra hassle. Who knows though.

      • Lindsay says:

Yes, that is what brought down Lindsay. Almost did in Robert Downey Jr’s case as well. The thing about massive budget movies is when they are held up because of an actor’s behavior it gets very expensive, very quickly so the premiums are already super high because of the value of what is being insured. God forbid he ODed and was hospitalized with brain damage like Lamar Odem or he died from it the insurance company is on the hook for the budget of the entire film.

I was more concerned with Girly thinking because only one example of his extremely destructive behavior was made public he gets a pass because he is not always like that. I am sure serial killers and tyrants have their charming moments too. You don’t get a pass because you are not always a complete disaster. Also, the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior and until he goes into to rehab, therapy, and understands HE is the problem, his drinking and drug use is a problem, and stops shifting the blame on to Amber this incident gives you a great snapshot of the problem he could cause on set. All the while starting an international incident over his dogs.

      • Girly says:

@Lindsay Wasn’t she the one charged for smuggling her dogs? I also think she got banned from entering the set.

      • Lindsay says:

She took the fall for it, yes. He is the one that taunted Australian authorities though. It was also his plane, he knew the dogs were coming, knew the law and didn’t care but she did smuggle them in.

All her being banned from set proves is their relationship was so volatile they could not manage to conduct themselves appropriately in a public and professional environment. They can’t ban the star of the film but they can ask his wife not to show up if he can’t maintain his composure when she is on set. It doesn’t mean it was her fault, just that production got fed up with their relationship dynamic and whatever distractions and tension it created on set. One of them had to go and it ended up being her because her attendance was not required to make/finish the film.

  12. Heat says:

I think the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has run its course, anyway. I really don’t think the box office on the next installment is going to be great. I also don’t see a voice-acting job for the sequel to Gnomeo & Juliet as a huge career move.
Johnny Depp does not seem to be well, not physically and not mentally. If he really wants people to forget this chapter of his life, he needs to get some serious help.

    • maria 2 says:

Yeah Film no 5 will most likely bomb, because it will be a crap movie, not because of J D’s behavior.

      • Dlo says:

I love the potc movies but will not support 5 directly because of Depp. Not one more dime of my money will go to support Hus career. Have not even seen a Tom Cruise movie since he pulled his nasty crap on nicole

  13. mkyarwood says:

Eh, I think this can only be seen as closing a figurative door with a literal one. It’s not so much ‘no place to live’, as ‘my options are wide open’. I think she should hit the theatre audition beat and quietly do her work for awhile.

  14. Shambles says:

That last picture of Amber is mesmerizing. She’s a really stunning woman. I won’t lie. I wanted to think badly of her in the beginning of their relationship out of pure snark, and I regret that now. She’s a strong woman and she fought a good fight. I hope peace and new beginnings for her.

As for her f*ckface ex husband, I hope to God this wakes someone up. Someone in his camp, some studio exec, someone. Because they need to stop babying this demented, grown ass man. Either he gets help or a) his career dies entirely and he turns into a sad, bloated hermit, b) he kills someone and ends up in jail, or c) his addiction kills him. This battle might be over for him by there is no escaping the war until he fixes what’s broken inside him.

    • jeanpierre says:

+1 shambles, she is strikingly beautiful in this picture.
Now that it all played out I was thinking maybe the bad press Amber received all throughout this relationship could have been somehow orchestrated, or pushed forward by JD team to isolate her even more. Is that crazy?

      • Shambles says:

Not crazy at all. They’ve shown us what scariness they’re capable of.

      • FF says:

        @JeanPierre

I thought that was what was happening.

Given his need to control her image and movements/autonomy I’d expect more indirect smearing with rumour-mongering, bad press, blacklisting, etc.

They can blame it on her acting (as if acting ability is a constant and not something actors frequently work on and improve or coast on).

Given the pathology he put on display I find it hard to believe he’ll leave her alone entirely.

She should get a place in London.

    • Becks says:

I’ve seen her in person. My friend lives in this building and I saw her in the elevator. I’m not a big fan of hers, but she’s stunning!

    • Shambles says:

She is a really beautiful lady. Never Back Down was a big thing when I was in high school among the 11th grade crowd, so I saw it a few times. Everyone loved Bajah, Amber’s character, and I thought she was hot too. It was a superficial role, of course, but she was beautiful. I saw her again in The Joneses on a very bored day and again thought she was gorgeous.

It was only in the very beginning when I heard she was dating JD that I got snarky about her because, full disclosure, I was letting a school girl crush on a fictional pirate cloud my judgment. And then it became apparent what an utter mess he was becoming, and my snark shifted to how tragic he looked. And I did remark a couple times that I thought they both looked high as kites.

And now… It all makes sense. He aged 20 years in 5 because it was all coming to a head. All the volatile tendencies, all the drug and alcohol abuse… He was losing his mind and taking it out on Amber.

I think Depp is easily charmed by a beautiful pair of eyes, and he met her on the set of TRD and became obsessed with her. That obsession (on him entirely, not her), in combination with years of drug and alcohol abuse, triggered something and he absolutely lost his mind. His body, face, and behavior started to show it. Maybe she was high with him, but if he was using that badly he probably encouraged her to do it too, as a way of further manipulating her. And she was probably happy for the escape from reality.

The whole thing makes my heart ache and my blood run cold. Depp’s team showed their hand and let us know how crazy, dark, and manipulative they are with the agressive smear tactics, down to — I strongly suspect– having people come on sites like this very one to badmouth her. It’s all so f*cked up, a product of almost 30 years of playing in the Hollywood playground. Depp’s messy, demented current state is a sad waste of talent. Amber is lucky that she got our young before she was pulled into that messed-up cycle. I really do hope she finds peace and I hope he finds help. Or humanity. Or whatever.

      • silliness says:

You make great points. The thing is, I’m not so convinced she was really a drug user except maybe for the occasional recreational use, and even then I would say it must have been rare and not a heavy use. Depp has been a public mess throughout most of his career, save for a few years early on in his relationship with Vanessa. I’ve never seen photos or footage of Amber being a high or even tipsy mess, and the thing is, when you’re using, people get sloppy. I just don’t see any evidence of that. And considering the hot mess Johnny has been, I would have figured she’d show some obvious signs of some use at least.

  15. Clare says:

Guys…she’s leaving this marriage with 7 million dollars – she is hardly going to be homeless. The settlement is actually very generous (set aside the abuse, which remains alleged, although I believe her) considering the length of marriage.

As for his career – I hope it crashes and burns. At the same time, I wish people would stop engaging/abusing his children with regards to all of this drama. they are CHILDREN, leave them alone.

    • khaveman says:

Yeah she did well considering the length of time and no kids together. I don’t wish ill to either one and I sincerely hope Johnny gets some real, effective help. I actually would like to see him do some good work again. Man is a great – though troubled – performer.

  16. Tiny Martian says:

Well, I’m guessing that aside from all the bad memories she must have of living with a rage monster, that most of his properties have broken cabinets, wine spills on the carpet, and holes punched in the walls. So I frankly think she’s better off without any of his property!

  17. Colette says:

This will have little if any impact of his career. Most people haven’t even followed this story and the people that have on gossip sites are mostly pro Depp. There are only a handful of sites like Jezebel and Celebitchy that are pro Amber.I just watched a woman on a show called Hollywood Today Live joke about being sorta flattered if a man cut off part of his finger in a jealous rage because it shows how much he loves her.On that show another lady basically said Amber sleeps with a woman, then Depp, than Billy Bob,she has no type she will sleep with anyone.SMH

  18. Velma says:

I think that Justice League movie she’s in is going to bomb in a major way. Jason Moma as the lead? Didn’t work out for Conan the Barbarian.

    • Jellybean says:

People said the same things about Antman and Guardians of the Galaxy. I really don’t know anything about Moma outside of Game of Thrones, but I would be more worried about DC’s general incompetence than Moma or Heard’s ability. I was reading some comments about Amy Adams’ new SciFi film and there were a number of people saying she was a bad actress and her involvement would put them off seeing it. They seemed to be DC fans who felt let down and were having a go at her for her involvement in MoS and BvS. I mean if you can throw hate on the wonderful actress and lovely person that is Amy Adams, then nobody is out of bounds. I am still hopeful that DC will sort themselves out, I am a bit bored of seeing Superman and Batman over and over again, but I am open to new characters if the films are of a good enough quality.

      • Lady D says:

A bit bored? After 29 Batmans and 11teen Supermans it is time and past time for something new.

      • Jellybean says:

Ok Lady D, I am bored rigid with Batman and Superman. It was a bit of British understatement.

      • Celebitchy says:

My apologies, Jellybean. I didn’t mean that to sound like snark. It just seems that every time I turn around, they’re making another freaking Batman movie.

      • Jellybean says:

No worries. I didn’t take it as snark, just the comment of someone on the same wavelength, but a bit more committed.

  19. Anon says:

Why shouldn’t she have to move out? They’re divorced and its his house. I believe she was abused, I believe he’s a repulsive abuser. But, its still his house and she has no business living there.

    • Jellybean says:

I agree, it is his house she should leave, she isn’t going to be homeless and I am sure she can stay with friends if she doesn’t want to go into a hotel while she looks for a new place. Didn’t one of her friends live with her and johnny for awhile? I am sure she would jump at the chance to return the favor. One of our friends is going through a rough patch at home and he has an open invite to stay with us if he needs it.

    • paranormalgirl says:

I believe she only asked to be able to live there through the divorce proceedings because she would be working out of town during that time period and wouldn’t be able to find another place to live that easily. Now that it’s over, I’m sure she will have no issue moving out and moving on. I mentioned in another thread that my friend worked on Criminal Minds for awhile… she met Amber when she was on an episode several years ago and said that she was actually a pretty nice person, at least back then.

    • iheartjacksparrow says:

If they were living in a condo, who’s living in the house that looks like a castle?

  20. wendy woo says:

As long as she doesn’t get blamed when he overdoses- which he will. #savingmypityforothers
I will never watch another film with him in, while I look forward to her cinematic future. Go Amber!

    • stinky says:

… stay tuned kiddies. Wendy’s on to something here… .
He’s been acting like (and aspiring to be) a fabulous disaster for a long, long time now. Seriously. He wants the ‘bad-boy’ drama/persona – but it all went South when he ended up w/ Yorkshire Terriers!

    • Carla says:

Did you miss the part where she said she wishes the best for him in the future? She wouldn’t appreciate comments like this.

  21. Lady A says:

People will forget? Man, I wish I could forget that image of his hand. Ugh.

How are producers going to get insurance on his films? I just don’t see it.

Sure, people still talk about Tom Cruise. Why wouldn’t they? Scientology is so crazy fascinating, but there’s also a major difference to being in a cult and being a raging alco/drug addict who likes to smash stuff and cut off the odd appendage. No. I think Depp is all but done.

  22. HeyThere! says:

I will remember and never see anything JD has to do with again.

    • Ariadne says:

Vote with your wallet. There’s no reason to keep lining the pockets of famous abusers. In a way, we the people, allow them to live a lifestyle without any rules. To continue doing what they do.

  23. JenniferJustice says:

Good. She’ll move out, get her own and place and Depp will have no hold over her whatsoever. I’m looking forward to independent Amber.

  24. jackie says:

I can see him going full charlie sheen in 18 months.

  25. kodakay says:

She doesn’t have a place to live? SHE DOESN’T HAVE A PLACE TO LIVE? She’s got 7 million dollars! Tell the dumb chick to go BUY a place to live. Problem solved!

Geesh, people want the world handed to them on a silver platter. It’s over. Take your money and get out of Dodge; with the quickness! Bye, Felicia!

    • Sarah says:

Goodness me, you’re emotional about it!
There are no comments from Amber anywhere in that article. She never asked for anything on any platters!

      • Rachel Starrs says:

$50,000/month spousal support, attorneys fees, the apartments, the cars, $20 Million cash — that doesn’t strike you as “on a platter?” I see it differently.

    • Tiffany :) says:

      “dumb chick”???
That’s really appalling. She isn’t saying she has no where to live. This info is coming from Depp’s camp. She hasn’t made a statement about her living situation. Calm down.

  26. this says:

He’s a grade A a$$hole but still fine she moves too many bad memories! and he bought this place, even if he never lived before her there, several years ago and i think it was in a trust at his sister’s name or so i read

Also on ET another lawyer think by the end of the divorce (in six months) it’s quite likely she will get a few more millions than this initial agreement…she could buy a home for her or maybe she can ask to her good friend Elon if he had some spare room on his LA mansion to share with her 😀

Amber is back in London now (sightings), i guess she isn’t worried about this yet

    • Lindsay says:

The ET lawyer is wrong. It is finalized. Nothing happens in six months and all the domestic violence claims have been dismissed with prejudice (meaning she can’t refile). The reason she has to move out is because the divorce is over so she can no longer live in his property as she is no longer his wife.

  27. Erica_V says:

Oh good I’m SO GLAD to know this awful ordeal is over for JOHNNY and HE can breath again…

    People is disgusting.

  28. lunchcoma says:

That makes sense. Johnny owns multiple homes, including another one in Los Angeles. It’s entirely reasonable for Amber to ask to continue to stay in one of them during the divorce proceedings. It gives her time to decide where she’d like to live and locate the right property, and it means she doesn’t need to move while also filming on location and dealing with the divorce. None of that means she even wanted to stay in the condo permanently, or that she’d spent the last few months expecting that she’d stay there. It was likely always intended to be a temporary solution.

And, please, she’s not staying on one of her girlfriends’ sofa. I’m sure she’s already lined up a new place to live. Hopefully she’ll have a happy and safe and full life there and rarely have to think about Johnny again.

  29. Ellis says:

So, Ashley Cullens gets to define how “people” think. “…people have very short attention spans. ….. nobody’s going to remember this happened. …….. and people will forget it and move on to something sexier and shinier tomorrow”. Yes please, show me the shiny bauble that will distract me from the monstrous behavior of Johnny Depp. Guess what Ashley? The common, non-Hollywood rabble actually do sometimes have integrity, and can make actual decisions for themselves about how they will proceed with their own thought processes based on morals and ethics. Surprise! Then she goes on to tell us the many things she thinks about this, and I guess that is meant to steer our deficient I.Q., bad memory-having, gullible minds. Whew, thanks Ashley! I was going to never go to another Depp movie again, but since you say this won’t effect his career, you have righted that wrong, and I will forget how much I abhor violence against women, and rush right out to put money in his pocket at the next opportunity! Or maybe my short attention span will cause my memory to forget he exists. I’ll think about that, but I’d better make it quick, since I can’t attend for very much longer.

  30. CoolNewName says:

I do not know if Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise are really comparable. Yes they have both been involved in divorce scandals but there are some very key differences between them.

While I am stunned to hear myself defend Tom Cruise in any context he does have a very good professional reputation no matter what ninth-level-of-hell crazy he has exhibited in his personal life. He is actually known for being very well-behaved, positive and professional on movie sets and can always seem to put on a good front during talk shows and public appearances. (Of course this could just be another symptom of sociopathy so your mileage may vary.) He also maintains frighteningly good relationships with people in high positions.

Compare this to Johnny who has held up a major motion picture due to an injury we now know was self-inflicted, who has shown up to present major awards visibly high/intoxicated and who has been involved in a very public spat with an entire government and he actually does not fare all that well next to Tom Cruise. So I DO think his career will be more negatively affected than Cruise’s.

    • lunchcoma says:

You have very good points there. I don’t think studios have strong moral objections to performers unless there’s an audience backlash, but they care very much about being able to complete films. Whatever my feelings about Tom Cruise and Scientology are, I’d be confident that casting Tom Cruise would result in a finished movie. Seeing Johnny Depp’s finger would make me very concerned that would not be the case if he were cast.

They also have very different box office records. Depp’s last few non-Pirates movies have been disappointments. Cruise has a history of his films doing well beyond one specific franchise.

  31. Syd says:

She had a short marriage and now 7 million. I know so many marriages that eventually ended because of abuse and those women and children have very little to live on, truly no place to live. Honestly this is a stupid Hollywood story! She has options. She can move on, move in with a friend; she can rent a place… whatever! Her freedom is paid for.
I don’t understand the entitle based comments nor the lack of perspective comments.

    • Colette says:

She just released a statement that she is donating all the money to charity.
But you are right she is free from that abusive as#hole.
      FREEDOM

    • Syd says:

What an amazing thing for Amber to do- she placed the attention on those that need it most- yay Amber!

  32. kal says:

So she should move out, it’s not her apartment. If she was so certain Johnny was abusive, why didn’t she want to go to trial instead of settling regardless whether or not Johnny wanted to settle. I’m damn sure if someone was abusive to me I’d want them dealt with & punished. Money is all she cares about clearly.

    • Colette says:

Money is all she cares about so I guess that’s why she is donating it to charity so the money can fund some charities.

    • Veronica says:

Most abuse victims don’t actually go through the justice system due to the low indictment rates, relative uselessness of restraining orders, and the emotional toll of having to deal with their abuser while simultaneously being ripped apart on the stand by defense attorneys. My sister never took her abusive ex-boyfriend to legal task – simply because she wanted it to be OVER rather than drag it out even more miserably than it already was. It’s easy to say you would do something in a situation you’ve never actually experienced.

      • Gigi says:

Amber Heard is not most victims. She had the money to move out. Her friends were living right in the next condo, for free btw. John y spent most of his time away filming. If her claims were true, she would have gotten away. But being the narcissistic liar she is, of course not.

      • Shelly says:

Still think she is a liar? now that he admitted it in the statement?
Oh and she gave away all the settlement to charity?

  33. Rose of Sharon says:

Mr. Depp is not making Ms. Heard do anything. He was blindsided that she filed for divorce! Few people listened to Ms. Heard when she reported that her husband was experiencing delusions and paranoia. The two most frequent early delusions in dementia patients is believing that their spouses are unfaithful to them or stealing from them. (Late stage: Believing TV characters are in the room and/or the person in the mirror is either a friend or an enemy.)

Please stop with the tug-of-war control games, Depp advisers, enablers, sycophants, fair-weather friends, attorneys, and Disney machine, because Ms. Heard is no linger playing. She never went into the mud.

Just get him to a neurologist already.

  34. Rose of Sharon says:

    (Please correct: longer not linger.)

  35. norah says:

btw amber has donated the money all of it in case pple want to call her more names

    • Celebitchy says:

They do, they will and they are. You should see the comments on the DM. PR stunt is the nicest thing they’re saying. Makes me sad for womenkind.

      • Cirque28 says:

The DM JD apologist point of view: Amber pretended to love Johnny for years, then fabricated all of this evidence, including smashing herself in the face repeatedly, scratching her own arms, recording a somewhat nonsensical video with a convenient lookalike dressed up as Johnny and spliced-together audio from bits of his movie dialogue, convinced her friends to risk perjuring themselves, etc… For a tax break and some good PR. What a sly one she is!

They’ve never heard of Occam’s Razor.

      • Colette says:

On TMZ there are idiots wishing her physical harm.I had to change my settings on Disqus because they were saying nasty comments about me for defending her.I no longer get emails when they reply to my comments after I received about 30 comments.

      • Six of Nine says:

        @ Cirque28

The use of Occam’s Razor is not regarded as good practice in science. It seems that Occam’s Razor is particularly efficient when analysing history of science in retrospective. But it is no good when trying to eliminate theories prospecitively while you don’t know yet which ones are wrong.

Occam’s Razor works best when applied retrospectively and doesn’t work very well when applied prospecitvely

      • K2 says:

@Six of Nine – pretty sure, given the divorce is over and she’s donating all proceeds, that this is officially retrospective and historic now.

    • H says:

While I think its great she’s donating the money, I would have kept some of it. Her career in Hollywood is probably done for, unless she has a fall back profession, I would have at least used half for my retirement.

The posters over on DM are idiots. Hopefully Johnny falls into a big vat of red wine, never to return. So sick of the Depp apologists on DM.

      • K2 says:

It seems pretty apparent that she’s going to get the Denise Richards brand of vindication, going forward. Depp’s passed the point of no return now, in terms of addiction and behaviour.

      • Gigi says:

Charlie Sheen had a long history of abusing women. Heck, he shot Kelly Preston by “accident”. Johnny Depp has never been accused of abuse until this succubus came along.

    • Janetdr says:

That tricksky gold digger! Oh wait……

  36. BrooklynTam says:

It wasn’t a part of the divorce so he’s not making her move out. She probably didn’t want it anyway with all the bad memories and the fact that Depp still has a key!

  37. FF says:

He is controlling, so he would throw her out.

She is probably quite happy to get out of a place where he abused her.

The impact of fan perception/loss is debateable but he did do a number on the insurance on that Pirates film with his finger and *that* is something that would effect his career. And I hope potential future insurers take note.

  38. Blackbetty says:

    He’s completely lost my respect.

  39. Flamingo says:

“I feel like Johnny tried to separate Amber from her friends many times”

I’m pretty sure that he let them stay at their place.
