Here are some photos of Natalie Portman in Toronto over the weekend, where she promoted the same two films at TIFF that she promoted in Venice. Those two films? Planetarium and Jackie. I haven’t heard much about Planetarium and I don’t think it’s going to be much of a factor in the coming Oscar race, but Jackie might be Portman’s chance at an Oscar campaign this year. The reviews really are great, from Venice and TIFF.
For the Planetarium premiere, Natalie wore an above-the-knee, embroidered Dior coat-dress. I have mixed feelings about this? I wonder if it would look more sophisticated if it was just a tad longer, I guess. But I’m going back and forth on that – if it was longer, she would look like she was drowning in fabric. Mostly, this is just such a strange silhouette for maternity wear, although if the Duchess of Cambridge has inspired any major fashion trends, it’s for pregnant women to “go shorter and go with a coat-dress.” Portman’s costar, Lily-Rose Depp, wore Chanel.
And here’s Natalie at last night’s premiere of Jackie. I actually love this dress – this pale chartreuse color is underutilized, probably because very few women will look good in that color. Natalie looks amazing here.

I think Natalie looks great in both looks, though I’d have liked a looser hairstyle in the first pictures. Lily Rose looks like such a strong combo of both of her parents.
Both dresses look horrible. The second one looks like it’s for the 60y old mother of the bride.
Yeah, I like the chartreuse color on the second dress but the style is grandma.

I LOVE Lily-Rose Depp’s look! She has such a great taste in shoes.
Lily looks so sweet when she smiles. I know women, young and old alike, do NOT owe it to us to be all smiley all the time. But it is nice to see her with a smile. Her face lights up.
I’m digging Natalie’s fashion all around.
How tall are Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis? I’m surprised that Lily Rose appears to be the same height as Natalie.
Vanessa is only 5’3″ IIRC, and Johnny’s around 5’10” I think.
Checks out that she and Natalie would be about the same height, but you never know, Lily-Rose might well have some growing left to do.
Natalie is not very tall herself, so I’m not surprised they are the same height.
I thought Lily-Rose would be taller. I thought her mother was 5’7″ (which, if true, compared to Natalie is a lot taller). Maybe somebody misprinted her height in a magazine years ago, as it appears that Google says she’s around 5’3″. I don’t know how tall Johnny Depp is.
When it was announced that Lily-Rose was some kind of model, it didn’t strike me as odd…until now (because of her height).
She isn’t a runway model. She does ads for Chanel perfume and glasses, so her height isn’t that important.
Google told you how tall Vanessa is, but not Johnny?
Google said she’s 1.6 m and since that is my height I knew immediately that that measurement converts to 5”3″. Google says Johnny Depp’s height is 1.88 m and I will now have to take out a piece of paper to convert that.
Wow, Natalie might look better pregnant than not pregnant. And Lily-Rose is stunning, like her mother, beyond the nepotism factor, I think she’s got a great face for modeling. Still looks kinda short though, lol.
Love that second dress! She looks great in it! Lily’s makeup seems to look fresher and younger here! I like it!
I hate to say it, but Natalie’s style is terrible. I swear she looks fifty! She went from looking much to young for her age to much too old. This has been the case for a few years now. She needs to work with a real stylist to craft a better look.
Hate the second dress, it does her no favors. The first one is OK, but not beautiful or flattering.
There is something really off about her. She comes off like I’m better than you all. The whole Paris/ Los Angeles WS so fake. When she 1st moved to France, she said how she loved it,compared it to US,now that she’s Bia k,she needs to change her tune. You can tell someone’s character by their lies. Swan film, actually saying she danced was the biggest lie for many reasons, she took away credit from the real prima ballerina onto herself for her Oscar. To all prima ballerinas,it takes years, several hours a day to reach that plateau of excellence and to say she learned it within 6 months is a mockery to all who have trained their hearts out. If Nat WS that good,then she would be dancing all over the world. Disgusting.
