I’m so excited for this!!! They both look great. Sandy is giving me pre-makeover Gracie Lou Freebush teas in these pics.

  2. Sullivan says:

I’m looking forward to the movie. The photos make me wonder if their faces wouldn’t be just as lovely, if not more so, without the Botox. Or fillers.

  3. Alix says:

A random bunch of Oscar winners does not guarantee a decent movie.

    • BonnieJean says:

True. But it’s a good start!

      • Alix says:

Eh. When a movie is bloated with so many “names”, it gets increasingly difficult to view any of them as characters. It’s more like a celebrity showcase.

      • Nemera77 says:

        @Alix.

There really aren’t that many “names” in this film. Sandy alone has actually carried a movie to Big BO.. but that has been awhile. Not talking about her teaming with someone one else.
This seems like a BAD idea for me. I loved the first Ocean’s. They could have done a movie with a different take and not even attached to the Ocean’s films. Not impressed with the casting either. Clothes don’t make a movie. I’m all for women doing interesting films.. This is not one I’m excited for

    • Kaye says:

Alix – +1 for singular verb! (first comment)

And this is the first time I’ve noticed that Sandy and Cate have a similar facial structure.

  4. Sage says:

George’s Oceans movies were not good so I’m a bit nervous for this one.
    Cate does look fabulous!

    • boredblond says:

I thought the first was very good, the second a shrug, the third ridiculously bad. I really don’t have much interest in this one, despite a talented cast..Hollywood never tires of spending big bucks on old ideas.

    deleted!

  6. AngelaH says:

And in the most important news in my life, the new Gilmore Girls trailer dropped today!

  7. hey-ya says:

….basically thats how old Cruise should look…glad to see Val is back in good health (hopefully)…

  8. pinetree13 says:

I thought the first picture was a photoshop of Sandra Bullock in a blonde wig and without. I didn’t realize it was Cate. They look like twins in that photo!

  9. Ivy says:

NO ONE IS MORE EXCITED FOR OCEANS EIGHT THAN I AM AAAGGGGHHHHHHHH

Mindy kaling in the same movie with Rihanna ??? And Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathaway?? Wild card Awkwafina WITH sandy and cate??? 2018 is gonna be so lit wow

  10. Melanie says:

Is anyone excited for the ‘A Star Is Born’ remake with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga? I’m curious to see how it will do when it comes out.

  11. Michelle says:

I will admit that I loved the Ocean movies that were done by George Clooney and Brad Pitt but I am sure I am in the minority. However, I am not feeling good about this movie. I love all the ladies that have a part in it, but couldn’t the writers come up with something more original than trying to copy a movie like this? Have some similarities, but make it better!

  12. Harper says:

I definitely don’t agree with that blogger’s read of “Mascots,” the new Christopher Guest movie. I’m a plus-size woman myself, and I’m generally pretty sensitive to fat-shaming, but I didn’t see fat-shaming here at all? I just saw a super dysfunctional marriage, where the man is a sad-sack loser who clearly hates his wife and finds her domineering (we’re introduced to him freaking out at her for wiping a smidge off his nose) but is too much of a wimp to just leave her. I think it would have played exactly the same with a thinner actress in the role of the wife. Imo, nothing in the text or subtext suggests that the husband finds his wife’s figure unattractive, or that we’re supposed to feel his actions are justified.

    • Anners says:

@Harper those were my thoughts exactly!

    • Antigone says:

I agree as well! It wasn’t about her weight.

    • Hope says:

Harness here. I’m a plus sized lady and I didn’t get the fat shaming at all.

    • Ange says:

Me too! I watched the movie a couple of nights ago and didn’t even notice her weight, it was more about how they were both so angrily arseholeish to each other and should have left years ago but they were playing relationship chicken for some reason. As one of the commenters on the original article noted; if you go looking for outrage and there isn’t any there you might be a bit off in your perception. Also: xojane is a hive mind of perpetually offended kidults so I expect nothing different.

  13. BackstageBitchy says:

I am flabbergasted at the writer who said that it was good to see Val Kilmer looking healthy again.
I mean, yeah, he’s THINNER than he’s been in years. But I saw him twice in person in years past and while he was quite heavy (florid, boozy-looking, sweaty and LARGE), he was smiling and jovial and seemed to be alive and enjoying life.
Then came the rumors that Kilmer was gravely ill and refusing treatment due to religious beliefs. I thought I remembered reading he was VERY sick, like terminal.
Now here he is in this music video which seems to be a veritable contemplation of death and despair, of the space between being alive and being dead. He is dull-eyed and sallow and EMACIATED, judging from the protruding sharpness of his shoulder blades.
But this is supposed to be him “looking good”? Because he’s not fat anymore??

  14. Kate says:

It’s hard to get excited about anymore warmed over “remakes”. I like the idea of an all female cast but I would rather see them in something more original.
