Kanye West has been out and about for a few days. He was first seen publicly (since his hospitalization/nervous breakdown) last week, when he stepped out with newly blonde/yellow hair. TMZ also reported that Yeezy has been overseeing the neverending renovation on his family home in LA, and TMZ reports that Kanye is currently in New York to interview psychiatrists, so he’ll have go-to doctors on both coasts. He also announced that he will resume his Saint Pablo tour in the new year. So… the message he’s trying to send is that he’s doing a lot better. But how does Kim feel about all of this?
Kanye West has quickly returned to his busy lifestyle after his scary hospitalization last month – and wife Kim Kardashian West is not pleased about it, according to a source.
“Kim still denies they are getting a divorce, but things are definitely not great between her and Kanye,” an insider tells PEOPLE exclusively, noting that the couple have spent very little time together since his release. In the days since, West has been spotted out in West Hollywood at the “Rick Owens: Furniture” exhibition at the MOCA Pacific Design Center. On Friday, West hit the streets of Los Angeles with pals for an incognito BMX ride.
“Kanye is supposed to rest and focus on his mental health,” the source tells PEOPLE. “Instead, he has had a very busy week and is done resting.”
Adds the source, “Kim acts annoyed. She also seems miserable and is spending a lot of time with her family.”
Though they may spend time apart, an additional insider claims this is not out of the ordinary.
“Kim and Kanye have been spending time together behind closed doors and no less than usual,” says the source. “They both do their own thing a lot of the time but they’re constantly checking in with each other about things — and especially about the kids.”
The couple are currently living apart, a source previously revealed, explaining that the arrangement is for medical reasons. The confidante added, “He is instead receiving outpatient care elsewhere with a medical team. Kim still seems concerned but is supportive. They don’t know for how long Kanye will need outpatient care.”
Again, you know there’s really trouble when People Magazine is the one outlet saying that Kim is annoyed and miserable. I believe it too. While maybe Kim isn’t seriously considering divorce, I totally believe that they’re going through a really bad phase and that Kim is probably throwing down some ultimatums. While Kanye does seem to be doing too much, I also think he’s trying to signal to Kim (and the world) that he’s taking his mental health seriously? Or who knows?
Update: Apparently, Kanye also went to New York to personally meet with Donald Trump at Trump Tower. Seriously.

You can have psychotic breaks with Bipolar Disorders. These patients can be easily confused as having schizophrenia. Maybe Kanye came to recommend some medication for Trumps delusions.

I don’t want to comment about the rest (my God, this is really a horrible family), but I restored a house for four years with my ex and I nearly got hospitalised too. It also destroyed the relationship. With hindsight I can say “great!” because I found the one and married him years later, but it was hell.
Regardless of what Kanye is or did, at this moment I do wish he finds peace, either way.

When I saw the pictures yesterday, I felt the same – that he is heavily medicated or maybe over medicated – it happens even under Drs. care. My grandmother became overly medicated, was hallucinating and I had my mom put her in the hospital to detox.
It´s not necessarily a case of over-medication, but mood stabilizers etc. are quite a gamble — you never know how and if they gonna work. Patients usually have to try a few, before they find meds and dosage that works for them. Also getting on and off of them takes weeks, including ‘fun’ side effects that mimic withdrawal and whatnot. Basically, I’m not surprised he looks like a zombie.
Someone on another said he looks like he gained weight possibly a side effect of mood stabilizers.IDK his eyes did look odd to me.
Finding the right balance of drugs can be challenging, enough to balance things out, but not too much to remove all your personality and enjoyment. Staying with a partner who has mental illness and isn’t diligent about treating it is even more challenging and can wreck even the strongest relationships.
I hope Kanye can find his peace, and the appropriate dosage to help with that, and I hope Kim can set boundaries and stay healthy. I do believe they love each other, but sometimes your issues don’t line up to make things work.
Yes. And also in the first days/weeks the meds can be sedating/zombiefing but that can get better. After my son’s manic episode this summer, people (most of all me) were freaked out at how subdued/vacant he was but we tweaked his dosages and he got used to the new meds and eventually his old personality came back.
I’m also rooting for Kanye to find peace and health.
Exactly, it can take months for the heavier drugs (anti-psychotics and anti-anxiety drugs are not nice) to have the proper effect. Plus it’s often a cocktail, and managing the doses between all the drugs adds another layer of difficulty.
I’m glad your son had good luck with that and is feeling more himself, it’s such a tough spot for young adults and men in particular. Having your support probably means the world.

I think hes been medicated for years, and felt better, or felt stressed and worse, and stopped taking them.
When you’ve been around people who were medicated for mental health issues, or have medicated on and off, you can often spot signs of it.
Granted he could be just exhausted, I’m not his doctor, but mental health and being medicated doesn’t stop you from carrying about your day.

I’m on the fence here. On one hand I feel for Kim. It must be exhausting to have to deal with someone so manic and narcissistic . I’d be angry as hell if I recently had a life altering event that my life was threaten, and not being able to lean on my husband . Then on the other hand I also think Kim was looking at Kanye as a step up, if you will.

For anyone in the healthcare industry when they say they are living apart for medical reasons what do they mean? I don’t understand I have had relatives receive outpatient care but they still lived in the same house with their family.The nurses,therapists,etc would simply come to the house.
From all the stories, she is still at momma’s house while he is in the first house they bought (not the one they are renovating).
I don’t think it has anything to do with medical reasons, they just have a bizarre marriage and always have. The first year of their marriage, it was said they only spent something like 30 days together. They’ve also lived with her mother more often than not, and he still keeps an apartment in Paris and spent the majority of his time there while Kim was pregnant with both children in the U.S.. As a matter of fact, one of the complications of Kim’s pregnancy with North was apparently due to the fact that she kept flying to Paris with her mother. There is a ton of distance between the 2 of them.
Regarding healthcare, though, they have so much money that doctors and nurses could easily go to them discretely without anyone even knowing. It’s just a BS excuse for them to try to make their extremely odd marriage seem normal.
They’ve always lived apart. The magazine is just trying to make it seem like they attempted a normal marriage, kim is a good wife, etc. Now that there is more focus on Kanye, they are trying to make it seem like they are just now living apart due to his mental illness. They are both rich and can live together in a place big enough where he can be in a separate wing of the house. They want to make it seem like she was really trying to make it work before she files for divorce. This will be her 3rd divorce before she turns 40, so they have to make it look like she really tried but his issues were too much.

One of my friends would check himself into in-patient care when things got really bad.
He would frequently stay for weeks, while his partner stayed at home holding down the fort.
They love each other dearly, but sometimes his health takes a turn for the worse and he would impact her too much, or be too dangerous to himself to not be monitored. I would imagine if you have money you would do this privately, and not at a clinic.
Her mom won’t let him stay with her because she would either kill him or jump off a cliff herself. There, that’s a medical reason….
They’re really just continuing their usual pattern. Kim and the kids stay with her Demon Mother, Kanye stays elsewhere. He has his own apartment so he could stay there or with friends.

I read a TMZ article when Kanye was still in the hospital where they listed what her day is like and it was so pathetic and ridiculous because they were acting like she was some kind of hero/victim when it was really just the life of an average person. It was literally, “she wakes up early to feed and bathe both kids, plays with them for a while, and goes to the hospital to take care of her husband, and then she comes home and takes care of the kids again before bed… all while wearing a brave face and staying strong for everyone around her”

i get two squirming young kids fed and ready and dropped off to two different day cares (couldn’t get them in the same one) and then I go to work and I’m USUALLY on time, EVERY SINGLE DAY OF LIFE. She gets up with her kids and gets them ready at a leisurely pace and she doesn’t have to worry about making a mess because maids, etc. CRY US A RIVER KIM! Yeesh. It is sad to visit a loved one in hospital for sure but she’s lucky she can do that. Many would have to choose what precious time they can book off from work and would be stressed to the maximum.
They should have just emphasized her post-robbery struggles or something we could actually sympathize with. But making her sound like such a martyr just for taking care of her OWN kids is eye-roll inducing.

This is the beginning of the end. Their relationship has always confused me, especially when Kanye spent most of Kim’s first pregnancy away from her working on his album in Paris. You don’t just leave your pregnant girlfriend (they weren’t married yet if I remember correctly) for months at a time like that! There are music studios in LA. And it doesn’t look like that arrangement changed when they got married. I’m sure Kanye’s manic behvavior came across as creativity and “artsy” at first but he’s a dad now and he still hasn’t changed at all. Kim knew what she was getting into when she married him. But I guess nobody could predict at Kanye’s inability to support Kim after the Paris robbery. She was still reeling from the trauma and he had to go and have a nervous breakdown and basically make it about himself. I know that wasn’t intentional on his part since he is clearly mentally ill but I can tell Kim’s patience is wearing thin. I don’t blame her for wanting to end it but she will always be tied to him even if they do get divorced because they share kids together.
