Kanye West claims he & Donald Trump discussed ‘multicultural issues’

These photos are like staring into the mouth of hell. As we discussed yesterday, Kanye West suddenly appeared at Trump Tower Tuesday morning. He went up to talk to Donald Trump, then they came down together and posed for photos. Even though Kanye is less than two weeks removed from a psychiatric hold (voluntary, but still), you would think that maybe he would want to keep a lower profile, or that Trump’s people would want no part in Yeezy’s particular brand of crazy. But no. Apparently, Kanye called ahead and the Trump meeting was on the books. Kanye even got the thumbs up from the Secret Service, with an official telling TMZ: “Personal problems that Mr. West is working through does not establish him as a security threat to President-elect Trump.” The meeting lasted for fifteen minutes. This is what happened in the lobby, after the meeting:

This is ridiculous. And yet when the news broke yesterday, I basically felt like “meh.” After all, we already knew that Kanye admires Donald Trump and that if Kanye had voted, he would have voted for Trump (ugh). So what did Kanye and the Orange One discuss?

Kanye West and President-elect Donald Trump met at Trump Tower Tuesday morning to discuss a potential role for the rapper, E! News has learned exclusively. The “Jesus Walks” rapper met with Trump to discuss becoming an “ambassador of sorts,” a source close to West tells E! News. The source adds that Trump is interested in getting West involved in an “entrepreneurial leadership role.”

As for how the meeting came about, the insider tells us that Trump’s team reached out to West.

“Trump thinks he’s a great role model when it comes to business,” the insider adds.

E! News has reached out to Trump’s team for comment. When reporters asked about potential cabinet positions, Trump only mentioned his personal relationship with the rapper. “We’ve been friends for a long time,” Trump added. “We discussed life.”

[From E! New]

That’s E!’s version of events. People Mag’s version is that Kanye was the one to reach out to Trump, which I believe. People’s sources also say that Kanye and the Orange One “didn’t talk about politics.” Suspiciously, the source also says, “Kanye is in N.Y.C. for meetings and he is also working with a realtor to find an apartment. He loves N.Y.C. and wants to spend more time there.” Uh… yeah, people. Now I’m starting to believe that a divorce is happening. Kim Kardashian stayed behind in LA, lest the Orange One grab her p-ssy, and Yeezy is househunting in New York? Chaos.

And finally, Kanye tweeted about the meeting:

Good luck, bruh.

Pompous jackass meets delusional ass clown. The new America 😒

    • Hannah says:

Word is Kanye will be dressing Melania in full Yeezy for the inauguration day.

    • Megan says:

What a scary pair. And if Trump thinks Kanye is a good, businessman, he is even crazier than we thought.

    • Nicole says:

Yep delusional meets asshole. You decide who is more of each label. Just ridiculous.

People were speculating that this was yet another distraction from his latest idiotic cabinet pick as well

    • Kitten says:

Didn’t they meet for exactly 15 minutes? That’s a lot of issues to talk about in a mere 15 minutes.

And yes Nicole, Rex Tillerson is the most controversial cabinet appointment yet (and that’s saying a LOT given the other monsters he’s hired) so likely this was a planned distraction.

      • EP says:

I knew Romney was never going to get the gig. Trump just wanted him to grovel for the job before saying no.

    • Melly says:

Didn’t President Obama call Kanye a jackass years ago?

      • SusanneToo says:

See my link in #21. BO is funny and charming.

      • jwoolman says:

Yes, but Obama said Kanye was a talented jackass…. I think that was after he drunkenly got in stage to announce Beyoncé should have won the award the teenage Taylor Swift was getting.

    • Tiffany :) says:

It is so troubling that Monday was “African American Issues” day for the Trump transition team, and instead of talking to people who are actually informed about the ISSUES in the community, he only talks to entertainers and sports stars. How about talking to some of the actual experts???? Oh, that’s right. All Trump knows is how to put on a show, not how to solve actual problems. All he knows about the black community is what he sees in entertainment.

      Dangerous Empty Suit.

    • Capella says:

When will I wake up from this nightmare. Every day I keep thinking “this is it … this action will be THE gamechanger and the jig will be up” but, noooooo … I seriously can’t believe it. His acceptance speech for “Person of the Year” … ??? … Thank you TIME magazine … for setting yet again, another stage for unbelievable asshattery posing, seriously posing not only as the POTUS elect but as the highly esteemed person of the year!!!!!

  2. Shambles says:

The elusive “December 15th press conference,” which I already knew was never going to happen, has been pushed back to January because the Orange Antichrist is just so busy, you guys! So busy.

But Kanye West can call him up on a few hours notice and they can spend the afternoon hanging out. I would find it ironic, hypocritical and extremely disturbing for a myriad of reasons, except that right now I’m just numb to the pit of fiery lava we’re slowly melting into.

The Baby-Fisted Fascist looks like a literal Christmas ham. He’s going to have a heart attack sometime in the next 4 years.

    • Ramona says:

I dont remember a president that didnt work out. Like as minimum publicly go out for a jog or bike ride. It used to be an important show of vigour and vitality. Now vigour and vitality is displayed by how many 3am tweets you can send out. I understand the push against fat shaming but an obese 70 year old president is a dangerous thing. Hit the gym PEOTUS!!

And of course he postponed the press conference. He has no intention of setting up a blind trust or divesting, and that information could push a few Electoral College members into doing the right thing i.e. picking someone else. At this point, I’ll even take Mitt Romney. I didnt like him but I never thought he was straight up evil.

      • SusanneToo says:

Oh, don’t bother with a silly gym, donald. You’re smart. Keep on chowing down on KFC, on Hardee’s, on Papa John’s. It’s good for you. Eat up.

      • Snowflake says:

Don’t listen to the silly liberals, Trump. Who needs working out? That’s for p_ssies! You’re a man! A really man eats fast food! It’s not bad for you, that’s just the liberals talking nonsense as usual. And people respect a man that smokes heavily! You ain’t no p-ssy snowflake!

      • Ramona says:

Lol, you guys. Listen to them Trump, I am not a smart person like you.

      • woodstock_schulz says:

yeah, fast food being bad for you is a hoax perpetuated by the Chinese, dontcha know

      • jwoolman says:

Yes I’d be happy to get a sane Republican who won’t tear down everything as a compromise.

Trump gained a lot of weight rather fast over the past couple of years. Could be from medication, some really do interfere with metabolism. He also probably isn’t getting as much exercise as he used to do (he’s probably playing less golf, for instance, during the campaigns and doing a lot more sitting). Plus it’s common to need less food as we get older and sleep deprivation actually makes it even harder to normalize weight. So he’s eating the same as when he was younger but that doesn’t keep him balanced anymore.

Fast food is probably more of a problem for him now – he might have become salt sensitive and fast food has huge gobs of sodium that can cause bloating in the salt sensitive, plus he may not be absorbing needed nutrients from his food. He doesn’t have to become a gym rat, but he needs to be more careful of what and how much he eats and how much sleep he gets. The sleep issue may be especially acute. He was used to getting by with very little when younger, but that might not be good enough now even though his body is still set for sleeping only short periods of time.

    • Alix says:

Yeah, it’s so important to have DIRECT PERSONAL ACCESS to the president. Because we can all afford that, right?

As for the heart attack, don’t tease me…

    • Bonzo says:

This is just another distraction from Russia’s intervention in our election that Trump keeps denying and the fact that he’s appointing a buddy of Putin’s to Sec of State. He’s just using Kanye to divert attention to trivial matters — as he has before.

Of far greater importance is Eric Lipton’s NYT piece from yesterday on how Russia carried out their cyberattacks and how unprepared everyone — especially the FBI — was at spotting them and raising the alert as they ought to have.

Google “The Perfect Weapon: How Russian Cyberpower Invaded the U.S.”.

      • Shambles says:

Bonzo, I saw that article on the NYT page when I checked it this morning. I’ll definitely give it a read.

      • DeniseMich says:

Agree Bonzo! The NYT was on CBS this morning discussing their article. My biggest concern is that Trump asked Russia to Hack Hillary. I believe it was in a debate or in a tweet.

People that live in a Republican state need to send letters to their representatives stating they are concerned.

we need to find a way for him never to be sworn in.

Kanye West meeting Trump is the least of our worries.

      • Shambles says:

I just read the whole thing Bonzo. Just… wow. What a f*cking rabbit hole. Of all the convoluted, chilling acts of political warfare. And the fact that some of our leaders are so spineless that they’ll look the other way, in the interest of having their agendas pushed. It’s disgusting, all of it. I want a new world.

      • Bonzo says:

Shambles, I fear that politicians are too self-protective and self-serving to right this ship. We Americans can no longer look at nations with obvious broken political systems and say “We’re glad America’s not like that”. It took something this massive (Russian hackers, fake news, Trump) to show just how far off the mark we have been for a long time.

We will never be GREAT as long as a kleptocracy is in power.

      • jwoolman says:

DeniseMich – I remember Donald saying that about inviting a Russian hack to find Hillary’ 30,000 “missing” e-mails (actually, they were recovered by software) in a press conference soon after the convention, I think. Maybe the one where he said he wanted to punch a couple of the DNC speakers (Bloomberg and Kahn) in the face. But he probably said it other times as well. Not in a debate, though.

He was ragging on Hillary for not having press conferences but actually one in July was his last one. I think his people decided he was not to be trusted in a press conference…

    • RussianBlueCat says:

When did donald announce he was delaying the press conference? Was it the same day he met Kanye? If so this meeting was another one of his distraction/deflect moves he does to avoid answering tough questions. This man is shady

      • Shambles says:

It was either yesterday or the day before.
Or in between, in the middle of the night.
Yes, this man is shady. “He’s a businessman!” As they say.

    • jwoolman says:

I always thought the Dec 15 press conference was aimed at the Electoral College which meets Dec 19, to convince them that he has “no conflicts of interest”. He claimed that he had sold off his stocks in June, but there is absolutely no proof of that so it’s probably like his charity contributions – he says he does it, but when people call up the recipients, he hasn’t. In May, he did set up three family trusts. My guess is that he shifted things into those and pretended he was selling them. But Ivanka is probably managing the trusts so they are not blind trusts, and he most likely retains control over them himself so he still knows what he has and can buy or sell at will. If it were otherwise, he would be saying so and providing normal proof of the setup.

So my guess is that Trump cancelled the press conference because he doesn’t want to have to answer questions about his wonky idea of how to avoid conflicts of interest and also questions about Russian connections. He or his people decided it would damage his prospects for getting through the Electoral College unscathed rather than helping. So shoving it off to January probably means never.

  3. als says:

In that photoshoot he made Trump look like the grown up, which is quite an accomplishment.

  4. Brunswickstoval says:

Maybe they were discussing him performing at the inaugauration.

Seriously, Trump won’t make time for important security briefings in preparation for becoming POTUSA but he’ll make time for Yeezy.

    We’re all fucked.

    • Lucy2 says:

This- he’s blowing off intelligence briefings but meeting Kanye West?!?!

A role model for business? Though compared to Trump, I guess canceling concerts, blowing tons of money on useless crap, declaring yourself millions in debt, and begging for cash on social media is good?

      • Carmen says:

Trump already said he doesn’t have to attend intel briefings because he’s, like, smart.

      • jwoolman says:

Well, Kanye really is a role model for the way Trump does business. Kanye builds up debt pretty fast and seems to be running out of sources willing to pour more money into his unprofitable projects (US banks won’t finance Trump any more, you would think that would be a major red flag for a future President). But at least Kanye pays people who work for him and seems to have real friends.

    • Esmom says:

I know, I feel like I could weep but I think I’m almost cried out at this point.

    • Kitten says:

We shouldn’t even be talking about Kanye with Tillerson as Sec of State. This guy is like Cheney/Rove-level of evil and should be in jail. Basically Trump–a “political outsider”–has hired Exxon and Goldman Sachs to run this country–oh and Russia.

The climate, the environment is done. So much permanent damage can be incurred over four years. I can only hold on to the slight hope that the GOP Senate will reject his nomination, but it doesn’t seem like anybody knows how to say “no” to this orange baby.

“But Hillary and her Wall Street ties!”

      • Tiffany :) says:

“a “political outsider”–has hired Exxon and Goldman Sachs to run this country–oh and Russia”

Well put. Very, very troubling. I am bracing for the worst, but if I see an opportunity to work against it, I will fight back like a rabid animal.

  5. anonymous says:

Kayne West is the living proof that money can corrupt your values.

    • Hannah says:

All of that could’ve been avoided if Beyonce and Jay-Z had made that phone call.

      • swak says:

Jay-Z made the phone call, he was suppose to come over personally and check on how things were going.

      • Ramona says:

What Swak said. Kanyes first rant about Jay was that he merely called and didnt comeover after the robbery. Which is childish and entitled. In his second rant, the one he added Beyonce to his hit list, he seems to be suggesting that Jay should have rang him after his first rant. Which is again just stupid and Jay Z was right not to engage.

I just hope Jay Z doesnt pull a Ted Cruz. If someone from work attacks your spouse, you are within your rights to cut them out until they grovel back. Bending the knee to a loose lipped narcisist without boundaries is pointless, again see Ted Cruz.

  6. Tiffany27 says:

No time for security briefings, but can meet with Kanye Kardashian at the drop of a hat…..

    • Alix says:

He’s, like, a smart person, so no need for intelligence briefings.

    • Christin says:

But he has time for Theatrics 101. Otherwise known as distraction tactics, to divert attention from hacking, tax returns, wife’s immigration trail, appointees, etc.

  7. Jessie says:

What I want to know is what Kim thinks about it…(never thought I’d type those words).

  8. paolanqar says:

I think he should lay low and take his meds religiously.

This is the nail in his coffin-divorce. Kim (Kris) will never support this.

    • RussianBlueCat says:

The only thing left to do is for Kim(Kris) to file for divorce. They just have to make sure the timing is right. To avoid any backlash from the public that could damage the “Kardashian Brand” . It all comes done to money

      • paolanqar says:

It seems like Blac Chyna will try to bring them all down too. I cannot wait for this. It will be epic.

Plus her and Rob’s baby is the only offspring born as a Kardashian. So if there’s anybody entitled to wear that name is baby Dream. I can’t wait for the snakes sisters to sue that!

    • Ramona says:

I wonder what Kris boyfriend was doing there then. Sure Corey could have been charged with keeping an eye on him and Kanye set this up secretly. Or maybe Kris and Kim dont care, and actually wouldnt mind the open door to the White House now that Hillary is out. I bet Kim would love to have a relationship with Flotus like Beyonce had with Michelle. I think Kaiser is wrong, Kanye drawing closer to Trump might be what keeps Kim in that marriage.

  9. Layla says:

Trump is looking more and more like President Snow each day.

    • Tate says:

My fears grow each day. Never have I felt anxiety like this.

    • MI6 says:

President Snow in action, the Heat Miser in looks.
      😆

      • Ramona says:

Scary! Just the other day, his transition team sent a request to Department of Energy asking for a list of all the civil servants who have worked on climate change issues. He clearly intends a purge of the department. The DOE issued a statement that they will not provide him with those names. Unfortunately, you know once his secretary is in charge, he will have full access. There are some very smart DOE scientists probably looking for new jobs right now.

      • Tiffany :) says:

Ramona, I read that climate scientists are working to save all climate related data, because they are afraid that it will all be purged when Trump’s team takes over. Really troubling.

      • jwoolman says:

Tiffany is right. US climate scientists are really worried that the Trump people will either delete data collected over many many years or make it inaccessible. Even partial deletion would be harmful. If there are are any gaps in the records, this will make the data not very useful in showing climate change (which would be the purpose, since Trump is dead set on claiming it’s not real and is appointing people of like mind, foxes guarding the henhouse).

The scientists are busily archiving copies of the data on non-government servers. I don’t know yet if they have thought to protect it further by archiving copies outside the United States in Europe and Asia and Canada especially, away from Trump’s immediate influence. Climate change work will continue throughout the world, but American scientists think they are likely to lose funding for current projects. I don’t know how much can continue without government grants, it also will depend on whether new sources of grants appear and how much local university budgets can pick up the slack for grad students and faculty. NASA has been working on climate change projects, which is an obvious role considering their ability to get panoramic pictures from far above the planet, but Trump wants NASA to stop that and to just do “space exploration” (don’t look down to see what’s happening on Earth, I guess).

Well, people wanted to elect a President and Vice-President who believe the Earth is only 6000 years old. Neither of them are science-friendly.

I also predict we will again have problems getting students and scientists into the country, and American science depends very much on foreign grad students (who do a lot of research while working on degrees) and foreign scientists. It was awful during the Bush II Administration after Homeland Security came on the scene after 9/11 – grad students were afraid to leave the US to attend conferences for fear of not being let back in. Chinese students on scholarships couldn’t get in on time to start the semester. Research at National Laboratories was crippled and demoralized when foreign team members were pulled off projects. Visas have always been used as a political weapon – I remember during the “Cold War” when two famous East German scientists were invited to an international scientific conference on my campus to give the plenary lecture and couldn’t come because the US government kept “delaying” their visas (a common tactic). Ironically, the East German government was no problem at all. But we had thought by this century all that was behind us. Nope.

      • lightpurple says:

@jwoolman, we are also going to have problems getting medical students into our country. The ACA has provisions for doctor training in primary care, which has a severe shortage of doctors, and other payment mechanisms for hospitals and doctors. Trump’s pick for HHS plans to eliminate those payment mechanisms (so much for a MD caring about public health access, but then again, he’s an orthopedist, not someone trained in public health). Ryan’s plans to gut Medicare and Medicaid will further impact reimbursement for doctors negatively. And they also plan to eliminate disproportionate share payments, which will have a serious negative impact on our major medical centers.

      • jwoolman says:

LIghtPurple – Obviously the ACA is not just an insurance broker as many people assume. There are many other aspects to it as you indicate, and medical funding will also go way down if they trash Medicaid and Medicare. I’be heard that small hospitals in non-urban areas are especially at risk of closing due to to Trump’s plans. Once they close, they are unlikely to open again once sanity returns. This greatly limits access to emergency and routine services. We saw this with Ronald Reagan, who really was just a more likeable version of Trump Lite. He successively gutted many government programs, just as he had promised to do. Not all could recover and the consequences for real people were severe.

The messy response to Katrina was an example of what happens when fools rush in to trash good programs. Someone who routinely worked with FEMA said they were very well organized in the past. They paid promptly so vendors were willing on short notice to get supplies to their warehouses, meaning they were prepared for emergencies just as their name indicates. Bush gutted FEMA and put Homeland Security in charge. So FEMA wasn’t able to do its usual job in New Orleans and related areas. Instead we had armed idiots from Homeland Security turning away help offered by others and messing with refugees from the disaster. I believe that Obama put a lot of work into bringing FEMA back up to speed.

Bringing troops home was also important to emergency management, because a big problem in Katrina was that the National Guard units of affected states were off in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan along with most of their equipment. The Bush Administration was using the Guard to make up for recruiting shortfalls for his expensive wars. Governors of many states had warned that Bush’s use of the Guard this way meant that the Guard was not available for state emergencies. Which is precisely what happened.

Trashing regulations on companies will have the effect of more accidents that endanger the surrounding communities. Individual companies rarely self-regulate because, like Trump, their first concern is their own profit. They need outside pressure to keep them doing things that reduce their profit but provide better safety for workers and neighbors. Reagan’s response to violations of EPA rules on leakage from plants was to change the limits so the leaks were acceptable….

  10. Maya says:

Multicultural as in whites from America and whites from Europe issues then?

Funny how secret service has no issues with all of those Russian supporters/republican traitors having access to Trump.

It’s clear FBI is corrupt and they helped Trump but CIA and NSA and other agencies have to expose these traitors and arrest them immediately.

America cannot be dump enough to officially swear in a person who is a traitor.

    • Alix says:

America’s dumb enough to elect one, apparently.

      • Betsy says:

I choose to believe, in the present absence of evidence, that the vote was hacked. I fully acknowledge my white privilege as I say this, but I do not want to admit that there are that many racists and sexists or people who can look the other way. They’re there and real, for sure, but… ugh, people, really?

    • robyn says:

Brothers Grimm? I wonder if Kayne likes Trump because neither of them smile much. Here’s why Kayne should NOT hang his hat with Trump or wear the deplorable t-shirt.

There’s no denying that corrupt and genitalia-grabbing Trump is verbally abusive, in bed with Russia, uses intimidation and lies like Russia and promised the world he would act like a mafia man throughout the campaign. He surrounds himself with cult members who never admit to a single fault of Trumps. As a woman, I often feel personally assaulted by him when he speaks.

Trump inspires the irrational hate-Hillary crowd which is equally disturbing especially in women … some seem to have pitchforks others do it with honey and a cross in their hands. Whatever the excuses, people voting for Trump allowed someone who is an assault to the environment and the world get away with everything. By giving him the top prize, they selfishly turned their backs on everyone Trump abused from the disabled to the gold family member who lost his son. They voted for a coward who had the gall to criticize a war hero while avoiding risking this own life and the lives of his children. It is inexplicable, it is deplorable.

    • Kitten says:

      Don’t underestimate our stupidity, Maya.

      • hmmm says:

        Kitten,

I have underestimated stupidity for so long. It all began when I laughed at the thought that America would elect an *actor* as President. And now, we are here.

      • Lady D says:

I remember laughing at bottled water when it first came out. I couldn’t believe anyone would be stupid enough to pay for water. Twenty years later, there is a ring of plastic water bottles around the planet.

      • jwoolman says:

Lady D – I am personally very thankful for bottled water. What you are paying for is not for the initial tap water, but the result after filtration and of course for the quality control testing and bottling and distribution. I suffered for years because of tap water that tastes awful to me, I could barely choke it down. The only bottled option available at the time our tap water went bad was Perrier water and various spring waters, which I really don’t like. I need pure H2O. I even tried distilled water sold for steam irons, that just tasted like the plastic containers. I even tried buying a distiller, but that just concentrated the awful tasting stuff.

Finally good home filtering units became available so I could filter my own tap water and enjoy water again. My unit uses several filters: simple particulate filter, activated carbon filter (which traps the bad tasting stuff), and a reverse osmosis filter which seems crucial in making our water drinkable. I am very glad that when my unit breaks down or needs a replacement part, I can just go to the grocery store and get something drinkable. I look for charcoal filtration plus reverse osmosis to find brands that work for me. Aquafina is about as good as my own home filtering unit and uses the same technology. So I can get good water now any time. My calculations show that Aquafina when on sale costs about the same as water run through my filtering unit, when all costs are considered.

Plastic bottles can be recycled and also metal containers can be filled from larger units. the machines that allow you to refill jigs with filtered water are too uncertain for me – they require maintenance to prevent microbial growth (which I can taste and smell at low levels) and my experience with a local grocery store’s attempt at this was inconsistent. If they don’t properly maintain it or don’t fill it with the right stuff if not filtered locally, it won’t taste good and is a waste of money for me.

You’re very lucky if you have tap water that you can drink without filtering. Many communities and many individuals are not so lucky. Even the cats prefer the filtered water (yes, I’ve given them a choice to see), and they’ll happily drink out of mud puddles and the toilet!

      • EP says:

Exactly. You keep voting for corporate parties thinking that they’ll finally put the interests of ordinary citizens ahead of the 1%. That’s not how capitalism works

    • jwoolman says:

Yes, Manafort has easy access and I suspect he’s working as a go-between between Trump people and Putin people. But the Secret Service really is only concerned about protecting the President-Elect’s body, not his mind…. So anybody who isn’t likely to kill or maim him will be ok. Kanye is unlikely to be a threat in that sense.

  11. Maria says:

how much about these complicated issues can you actually discuss in 15 min? Please!!!

I have to agree with everybody on this thread. The soon to be POTUS has nothing else to do? Are we all living in a satire and do not know about it? Are aliens watching us, like we watch VEEP?

    • Ramona says:

“how much about these complicated issues can you actually discuss in 15 mins?”

Trump is “like a smart person”. He doesnt need security intelligence briefings and he can solve race relations by having a 15 minute conversation with a relapsed bipolar rapper.

  12. lightpurple says:

Of course, a misogynistic jerk would consider another misogynistic jerk to be “a good man.” Neither one of them is a good man.

  13. Tate says:

Oh Trump is going to change things, Kanye. Just not in the ways that you and the dumb asses that voted for him want it to change. Luckily you are rich so you should fare better than the other minions that fell for his con.

  14. Dinah says:

Trump and his three chins look utterly hideous. Is his bloated body failing? He has aged remarkably bad. He’s never been sexy, but he was fairly attractive way back in 1984. He has to have a disease, more than likely alcoholism. The Nude Melanja K. is aging horribly as well.

    • jwoolman says:

I don’t think Trump is a drinker. But he could be taking medication that promotes bloat or maybe he has developed salt sensitivity which will do likewise. His fast food favorites are loaded with salt. Like many people, he hasn’t adjusted his food intake to his energy needs as he gets older and less active.

  15. Sam says:

I’m sorry but I’m pretty sure Kanye West didn’t vote. So he can go have a seat and stfu.

Also by all accounts this “meeting” was like 15 minutes long. So yea I’m sure all of that was talked about. Shut up Kanye. Just shut up.

  16. Ashamed 2 b a Fl girl says:

Well, on a superficial note he can design *cough* clothing for Melania and Ivanka.

  17. I Choose Me says:

When two bloviating a-holes meet. Film at eleven.

  18. unbroken says:

What’s going on in America? Trump will be president, these two insane people like each other, Kanye West wants to be president,… – the world is ending.

    • swak says:

Notice though he was first going to run in 2020 (made that announcement at one of his concerts) and now he tweets #2024. Guess he thinks Trump will win again in 2020 (heaven help us if that happens).

  19. Ms Vogue says:

NY Mag points out, that the guy standing behind Kanye in the last pic is Corey Gamble – the ‘boy friend’ of Kris Jenner… so did meeting happen with the blessing of Kris ?

  20. makemyday says:

People are confused, it’s not Trump who is the new president, it’s Putin. His friends already work for Trump.

  21. Jenns says:

Imagine Obama meeting with Kayne like this. I’m sure Fox News would sh*t themselves over that.

    • SusanneToo says:

Unlike the donald, President Obama is a smart, make that brilliant, man.

    • Kitten says:

      IKR?

    • Snowflake says:

Yes! Every single thing that Trump has gotten a pass for doing, Obama would have been crucified for doing. Just imagine it…..After this election, I have nothing but hate and disgust for the Republican party. They have done backflips to excuse Trump, where the shit would have hit the fan if it was Obama.

When is Trump supposed to move into the White House? Is he going to move there or os he planning to stay in Trump Towers?

    • HappyMom says:

I know. The hypocrisy over ALL of it-the skipping security meetings, his kids sitting in on phone calls with world leaders, Melania not immediately moving to the WH, Russian interference with our election!-somehow the Fox viewers are fine with all of this. It is mind-boggling.

  22. grabbyhands says:

    I can’t believe I felt sorry for this f*cktrumpet.

The ONLY thing that drew Kanye to NY was the gravitational pull of one delusional narcissist to another. Multicultural issues?? When has Kanye EVER cared about it before? He of the confederate flag jackets and declaring that racism is over? God, I hate people so much. I guess we know at least one person attending the inauguration.

  23. swak says:

Trump also met with Jim Brown and Ray Lewis. So I’m wondering if Trump isn’t trying to show that he is not a racist.

    • robyn says:

There is no wondering about it …. OF COURSE HE IS!!!!!!

Next thing you know he’ll have someone in a wheelchair show up because he insulted the disabled and who knows … maybe even Rosie will pop up too.

Do not believe the softer kinder Trump because he will screw you in the end. Are you listening Mitt Romney?

    • hmmm says:

Well, these are ‘his’ African Americans, don’t ya know? Like that token guy he pointed out at his rally. It never ceases to astound me the number of people willing to debase themselves. My view of humanity has changed considerably in the past year. It’s not only disappointing, but frightening.

    • IlsaLund says:

It was African American Day. Trump wanted to show how concerned he was with issues facing the African American community so he met (not with community leaders) but ex sports figures and rappers to discuss black on black crime and the need for African Americans to accept & address that as a key issue and not systemic racism.

Arctic report card is a nightmare (arctic is heating up at 2x the rate of the rest of the planet), the PEOTUS is not taking security briefings because he’s “smart”, all of our social welfare programs are under attack… and this nasty national embarrassment has time for a meeting with a mentally ill pop star??!!!???!!
    What the eff.
    I’m so numb.

    • Kitten says:

I made myself borderline-insane last night listening to Democracy Now’s coverage of Rex Tillerson.

I’ve been nervous and anxious for about a year at the prospect of a Trump presidency but I am now in a full-blown state of panic. When you have all the experts telling you that this will be a really bad four years during which an innumerable amount of damage will be inflicted on our country, any sense of pragmatism or optimism gets thrown out the window.

Secretary Reich’s coverage last night ended with the powerful reminder: DO NOT NORMALIZE. This is NOT your standard Republican administration. This is unlike anything our country has ever seen. We must fight like we’ve never fought before.

      • EP says:

Re: the Secretary of State appointment, Romney was never going to get the gig. Trump just wanted him to grovel for the job before saying no.

  25. MellyMel says:

Why is Kris Jenner’s boyfriend there as well? I didn’t realize he and Kanye were close. Or is he just keeping an eye on Kanye for the K’s?

  26. ria says:

I remember, not a long time ago, many many people here, calling Kanye a Genius, an amazing Producer.
Everyone against that Praise was ignored or shut down.
Every time there was a different opinion about
His Rants and Ignorance, it was dismissed

How a couple of weeks change the YAYscreamers to the NAYsayers.

  27. Leah says:

I have to laugh at him and his stans, they think hes smart or will have the presidents ear. LMAO
All this is is Trump using Kanye to distract from other things such as conflict of interests, the constitution and the russian ties of his administration. Kanye is just a media friendly distraction so people won’t bother with the real news.

  28. NotSoSocialButterfly says:

K looks like he is moments away from vomiting on tRump’s shoulder in the last photo.

  33. Bonzo says:

Eric Lipton (who wrote the Russian cyberattack article I mentioned above), just tweeted that Dems have informed the GSA that Trump will be in breach of the lease agreement the moment that he takes office unless he divests his financial interests in his DC hotel. He includes a screencap of the letter.

  36. Sera says:

Trump continues to be a tv personality. He h as yet to meet with, NAACP, UrbanLeague , Congressional Black Caucus, etc. He meets with Kanye West, Names Brown etc g I’ve me a break. He is j y st a con man and a show man approves every day. Photo ops, photos oh to ops, no substance. As a black person I will say again #Notmypresident. I will never trust him. I am praying he gets impeached before he takes the oath. How can people believe anything he says? Tax returns, haven’t seen yet, his wife’s immigration papers, remember that, foreign investments and creditors, etc. Wake up America please. I could go on about women’s rights, immigration etc.

It was just revealed on the Diane Rehm Show that last night Tillerson’s Medal of Freedom from Russia was deleted from his wikipedia page. Does anybody here wiki? Please go in and relist that information. And keep relisting it every time it’s removed. Thanks.

  39. chaine says:

None of this bodes well for Kanye’s sanity. Especially that he is tweeting about it.

  40. me says:

The Kardashians were ok with this? Does anyone remember a few years ago where Khloe and her family publicly stated they hated Trump after Khloe was kicked off the Apprentice? Kanye thinks he can “talk” Trump out of being racist. Ha ha funny.

Please alert yourselves to the Orangepocalyse’s diverting/deflecting attention away from the serious issues of conflicts of interests, deplorable cabinet picks, censoring the media, witch-hunting the DOE, and denying the CIA’s intelligence on Russian involvement with the 2016 election.

Don’t fall for the trap of Clockjerk Orange meeting with Kanye (or anyone else for that matter).

  43. IlsaLund says:

I share everyone’s concern and frustration with these events. But I have to state the obvious and that is Kanye West suffers from mental illness. It was unfair of the Trump team to use Kanye in this manner given his mental health issues. Yes, Kanye is a talented musician, but he is also mentally ill and needs medication to function. To exploit a mentally ill person in this manner is disgusting.

    • Ginger Gal says:

I share everyone’s concern and frustration with these events. But I have to state the obvious and that is Donald Trump suffers from mental illness. It was unfair of the West team to use Donald in this manner given his mental health issues. Yes, Donald is a (fill in blank), but he is also mentally ill and needs medication to function. I am Argentinian and with all due respect, I never, ever, ever, thought that so many millions of Americans were so racists and stupid. I never, ever ever ever, thought that the Racist Facist was going to be elected President of the United States. Ever.

    • Snowflake says:

I never in my wildest dreams thought America was this racist. The night of the election, I went to bed, confident that i was going to wake up with Hillary for our next President. I was stunned when I woke up.

    • EP says:

Trump is just the continuation of the trajectory that America has been on for a long time. I’m surprised that so many of you are surprised.

  47. EP says:

Good to see Democrats finally approaching the level of concern that we Greens have been feeling for decades. Welcome to the party.

  48. Betsy says:

Am I the only one who thinks this is slightly exploitative of Kanye? I think he’s an idiot, but the man just got out of a fairly long psychiatric commitment.
