Brad Pitt starts filming in California, Angelina doesn’t come with him

During last week’s analysis (or over-analysis) of Brad and Angelina’s epic Cannes trip, the Enquirer mentioned that Brad would be starting work on the film Moneyball at some point over the summer. Now Life & Style is confirming – Brad Pitt will be headed to Oakland, California very, very soon (like, a week, maybe?) to work on the film that is based on the true story of Billy Beane and his magical draft system. Did that make any sense? I don’t know anything about the football (?), I’m only aware that words like “draft” and “magic” apply.

But Angelina isn’t coming! Yet. She still has to finish getting the crap beaten out of her on the New York production of Salt. They’ve been filming for about three months, and I’ve got to think they probably only have a few more weeks to go. So Brangelina is splitting up! For a few weeks, at least:

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been everywhere from California to New York and France in the past month, but Brad’s next movie will keep him at home in LA!

Brad will begin shooting Moneyball in California in June, Steve Elzer, a representative for the movie, confirms to Life & Style. Meanwhile, Angelina is still filming Salt in New York.

Moneyball centers on the major-league’s Oakland A’s and their general manager Billy Beane (played by Brad) who attempts to draft players to the team using computer-generated analysis.

[From Life & Style]

Here’s the thing – in the report from last week’s Enquirer, Angelina maybe wanted to spend the summer in France, in the chateau that they’re renting. The Enquirer wrote, “She plans to take the six children to their Chateau Miraval, near Nice, for a long break.” Trouble? Maybe, maybe not. I can’t see Angelina being that thrilled about having to spend the summer in California, but she probably will do it. Maybe she and Brad will take a few weeks towards the end of the summer, and run off to France.

Here’s another part of last week’s report, of course from In Touch, and of course about the uncool Bermuda Triangle – according to In Touch, Brad and Jennifer were looking forward to spending some time together in California without Angelina. So perhaps that’s Brad’s plan for the weeks that he and Angelina are separated?

can we talk instead about why Brad is channeling Johnny knoxville or whatever from jackass?
Is that suit pink? the Mulvaney boys from my h.s. (way back when)were the only guys that I’ve ever met that could truly pull off pink

  2. Wif says:

Come to think of it, my husband never follows me to work either. I wonder if Jennifer Aniston is behind this somehow.

  3. selma says:

bullshit with your comment jennifer aniston is behind this, why would she and she starts filming bountyhunter 15 june in NY

  4. jennifer aniston says:

what the fuck kind of article is this

  5. nimble minx says:

    ugh…another non-story about this bs.

  6. sonia says:

According to Simplybrad.com Brad starts filming Moneyball June 11 and someone at JJ claims the Salt(AJ’s Film) wrap party in this saturday. He’s doing pre production stuff in Ca.Brad is not going to be away from his kids or Angie for months. They always take turns working but there can always be overlap.

  7. Ron says:

Brad and Jennifer will not get back together ever. Can we get a new story please??

  8. N.D. says:

what weeks, he’s starting next week, she’ll finish hers this week. No overlap, no separation.

  9. HashBrowns says:

Oh please let them stay in Oakland-that stupid Oakland A’s stadium is way too close for comfort and you just know Brad’ll be staying at the fanciest hotel in the area (aka the Claremont). Maybe he’ll go over to San Francisco and not bring the paparazzi circus to Berkeley…maybe. Hopefully.

Filming is a pain in the ass for those not involved. They cut off streets; they deny parking spaces; they make A LOT of noise; their trucks are everywhere;they light up the street like it’s daytime at 3 in the morning-although I have to say the people working on sets are usually very nice and will answer questions if you have them.

Can you tell I’m originally from L.A. yet?

  10. heeheehee says:

Sure Sonia thats what it is.
Why is their breakup such a huge secret?
And why won’t the King and Queen’s subjects believe it.
    Weirdest breakup ever!

  11. Codzilla says:

HashBrowns: My condolences for the potential disturbance Brad’s presence may unleash. I grew up in Berkeley, and the Bay Area traffic is horrific on a good day. I can’t even begin to imagine the gridlock that would ensue as a result of blocked streets and hundreds of loonies clamoring for a glimpse of their idol. Ugh.

  12. someone says:

I have read that Brad loves it when hes in LA, but AJ hates it..so we will see whats gonna happen!

  13. Annie says:

    LOL Hashbrowns and AMEN.

Filming is a pain in the ass. But I gotta add a period. Cuz filming sucks if you’re involved too. I just think for those of us not involved, it’s extra annoying cuz we’re not getting paid, we’re just sitting on the 405 or the 101 swearing…a lot.

  14. sonia says:

I’m always curious about people wasting their precious time commenting on celebrities they don’t like.I can honestly say I’ve never taken the time to comment on a celeb I don’t like. Can someone explain this to me. With the limited time you have to spend on the computer why not spend it on people you like.

  15. cassie says:

I think Brad prefers to live in NOLA or France less paparazzi. BTW I know how to spell paparazzi by watching the spelling bee champion on Regis and Kelly. Both Pat Sajak and I thought it was spelled papparazzi. So I learned something new today

  16. Cheyenne says:

Oh yeah, right, Brad is looking forward to spending some time alone with Jennifer. IT said so, so it’s gotta be true.

If there is anybody out there who still believes that Brad wants to get back together with Aniston, there’s a bridge over in Brooklyn I’ll sell to you cheap.

  17. HashBrowns says:

Well…my complaint was mostly about filming. It wouldn’t really matter who it was who was filming around here.

The trouble with Brad Pitt filming around here is that he’s Brad Pitt aka the Golden God of the Golden Couple aka Saint Brad. Therefore the paps will be crawling all over town trying to catch a glimpse. All the loonies will be attempting to get pictures and clogging up the roads/freeways/sidewalks and such. It isn’t Brad I’m bothered by, its the Paparazzi Storm that he incites.

And filming is just bothersome. If you haven’t lived in an area where they are constantly filming, then you really have no idea how annoying it is.

@Annie: Boy do I know-I got to intern on a film when I was in high school (it was actually filming at my high school) and there is soooo much sitting around not doing anything while they set up shots. And then when they broke down for the evening, the whole caravan of idiots drove a half an hour away to Hollywood because that’s where they were all staying.

Oh, and a quick comment about the noise: I was at a luncheon with my mom once in downtown while they were filming Transformers. Seriously we were on the 60th floor of this building and could still hear them (they had fake explosion noises going on and a fake megatron voice-it was quite funny actually but the older black women we were eating with were NOT amused). Of course the windows were open due to the many ladies of a certain age going through the change 😉

  18. Annie says:

They like starting things. That’s all.

  19. Wow says:

Ugh! Why WOULD she be in LA when she is STILL FILMING in NY. Gah!

I’m no Brangelina fan but c’mon, the media need to chill with the bogus stories about them. I would be so sick of it if I were either one of them.

  20. judy says:

Well if it is too muc hardship on people to have the movie industry bring a few miollion bucks into the area please feel free to picket the set and whine and cry that someone is doing something for the economy.
Why worry about Jan and Brad, that has been ovr for 4 years or longer and he doesnt give a rats behind what she does and he didnt when he left her..I dont about all of you but does your husband or wife pack up the kids and come and watch you work?? especially after they have been working non atop too?? Cant they find something else to write about besides the non existant “bond” between Jan and Brad LOL or the Non seperation between Angie and Brad lol GOD find something that is not an out right lie to right about like the poor people of Berkeley that may have a few extra million bucks in their coffer because of a movie being made there lol

  21. kiki says:

    big yawn

california is broke and it shows, I too would like to be in the south of France and not in LA

  22. Wif says:

selma, were you referring to me? I was making a joke. Paired with my previous sentence I was trying to imply that maybe JA was trying to get my man (which she never would. Her loss, he’s a total catch.)

  23. HashBrowns says:

@Judy: Berkeley is fine. We aren’t hurting from the collapse at all. The whole Bay Area is pretty much unfazed, especially in the housing markets. The restaurants are all still packed; bars are still packed. People are still going to see movies. We don’t need a movie to come here to survive the economic crisis; we’re surviving just fine.

Anyway, if you haven’t been in a place where they were filming, you don’t know what a pain in the ass it is. I suspect you’ve never been around when someone was filming something.

And just for the record: I love films and I love the whole process. I just have a love/hate relationship with it.

So to summarize: we don’t need the money. Filming tends to be annoying. You have extremely poor grammar skills.

  24. Annie says:

A part of me wishes CA WAS suffering, to be honest. I’m looking for a new place to live and damn rents are crazy as always.

And if people were broke/out of jobs, why the f* is there STILL so much damn traffic on the 405? WHY? 🙁

  25. Lucky says:

FYI … the state of California IS suffering. The state is bankrupt. The issue is Prop 13 passed way back in the 70s froze property taxes. They can’t be increased. So we keep voting for various parks, railways, roads, schools, etc, etc, but have absolutely no way to pay for any of it.

  26. anastasiabeaverhausen says:

I don’t see what the story is here. Sometimes I have to go out of town for work. My husband doesn’t pack up himself and our child and come with me.

Couples can and do survive separations of many weeks, even months! When my husband was in the Army, we did it all the time.

  27. Not Impressed says:

wait. did someone say jennifer aniston starts filming bountyhunter 15 june in NY?

  28. Annie says:

I’m fully aware that we’re bankrupt, We’re at like what 9% unemployment? And have some of the most foreclosures in the nation? I was just making a joke about the fact that rents are still ridiculous and cars are still flooding our roads.

And actually, there are a lot more issues than Prop 13, but that is neither here nor there. Frankly though, I think we’re still better off than a lot of other states in the union right now because while there are a lot of foreclosures…there are places in CA where our home prices have risen.

  29. RobN says:

Baseball. Baseball. Baseball. If we’re going to hear about this frickin movie, and be subjected to a million stills from it like we are of Salt, at least get the stupid sport right.

  30. Codzilla says:

Ps: That pink suit is laughable.

Oh, and Judy, your writing is even worse than Brad’s outfit.

  31. dew says:

I realize Angelina’s injury turned out to be minor, but there’s no way of knowing that until after the fact. Was there a very good reason why Brad didn’t rush to her side?

I was working when I received a txt from my husband about a cut finger. I called him right away and found out he was being referred to a hand surgeon right then and there. I spent a few minutes finishing up my current assignment, then rushed across town just as he was entering the hospital. His surgery happened about 90 minutes later. Had I fully believed that txt message that it was just a cut finger, I could have missed my husband going under general anesthesia. There’s no way of knowing the full extent until after everything’s done.

That’s why I’m wondering if Brad even tried to visit her after her injury.

  32. cassie says:

Dew How do you know he didn’t go to her side , the press didn’t even know she had an accident until her manager released a statement saying it occured that morning.Brad was spotted in LA after 9 pm (12am est)so he flew out of NY after 7 pm est as least 8 hrs after accident. When the manager released the statement Friday afternoon Angie was already back on the set filming

  33. lb says:

Sonia, it is not organic chemistry problems we are working on here..it is not a reach to understand why someone would diss a celeb. People bitch about celebrities because it feels good to deny all the propaganda their machines promote. Also, you might get clued in by the name of this site ‘celebitchy.’ Just Jared would be a better match for the pollyannish set

  34. Ursula says:

Who is looking after those poor kids they collect?
