Heidi Montag & Spencer Pratt: ‘We’re not super famous anymore, but we want a relaunch’

Screamin' out gang gang gang gang gang

A post shared by Pratt Daddy (@spencerpratt) on

I had secretly hoped that the quiet coming from Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt’s camp these past few years was due to their reflection on how they’d let fame infect them. I realized when they accused the illuminati of blacklisting them that they’d done no reflection at all. At the time, Heidi was about six months pregnant and again, I stupidly thought, perhaps parenthood will refocus their energies. Nope. Heidi and Spencer are so desperate to be back in the spotlight, they are launching a podcast as an appeal for fame. That’s not my interpretation, the podcast is called Make Speidi Famous Again. Ugh.

She’s been a mom for nearly four months, and Heidi Pratt is getting the hang of things.

“I’m sleep-deprived and tired and busy, but it’s so perfect,” she gushes about life with Gunner, 3 months. “I waited a long time to have kids and it was meant to be to have him.”

Now, the 31-year-old former Hills star is back at work with a new project with husband Spencer, 34: a podcast called Make Speidi Famous Again. (The first episode of the podcast is available exclusively on PEOPLE.com today; for future episodes, subscribe at Apple Podcasts or go to http://PodcastOne.com.)

“Spencer came up with the name,” explains Pratt. “It’s a fun expression of where we are now. We know we’re not super famous anymore, but we want a relaunch.”

[From People]

I think most of us guessed, “Spencer came up with the name,” without being told. Now, I didn’t follow The Hills but relaunch what? These two were famous for being jack-sses, right? And from what little I’d gathered since their fall from fame, that save for their hummingbird conservation, which is admirable, they haven’t done much to correct course. I’m nervous because these two have proven they will do anything for celebrity. It’s one thing to want to be famous but it’s another thing to be fine with notoriety as long as it gets your name in the headlines. Unfortunately, they are not sparing their son from this mess. Not only is he featured in their promo photo for the podcast, their blurb ends, “with the occasional cameo from stud baby celebrity, Gunner Pratt!”

Part of me feels like I should applaud their raw and honest ambition but they appear so selfish, I just can’t. And this is just my personal opinion, but they have never done anything to establish themselves as authorities on pop culture so why do I care what they have to say about it? Why not a podcast on hummingbird rescue or a larger theme of bird or animal conservation? I know, I know – we’re talking about Speidi. I await their lineup for the “top notch celebrity guests” the promise on the show. So far they’ve announced Kristin Cavallari so… there’s that.

    Lemme answer this one: NO.

  2. queenE says:

We aren’t super famous now -translate- We need cash

  3. trollontheloose says:

From the same losers who praised the doc who performed the one-day multiple plastic surgeries to the same losers who bashed him once he dies from a car accident. Never cared about them but this was the lowest of the lowest. Since the, it’s physical, I can’t stand neither of them. You just know where their loyalty stands: in the poop of money

  4. Laughysaphy says:

Can someone explain her Christmas Instagram caption? Did she give birth to her baby on the side of the road in traffic??

    • Kitten says:

I suspect that she meant that was all the sh*t she had to do to get to wherever she took the photo.

These two chumps smhd…”Gunner” sounds like something a Palin would name their child.
(apologies in advance to anyone who named their child that)

  5. Hh says:

Kind of like Scott on KUWTK, Spencer was the villain who’s actually pretty funny when you look back on it. It was all scripted. The only thing that I hold against them is the sex tape rumor about Lauren Conrad (which is no small thing). That was down and dirty.

    • Lex says:

Yep it was for sure all scripted but imaging him being actually emotionally abusive and isolating Heidi from all her friends is hardly a stretch of the imagination! Heidi and Lauren were actual real friends and then they weren’t… because of him!

  6. Lama Bean says:

Haven’t we suffered enough in the past year? I’m over reality stars.

  7. markweer says:

    NOPE! Wherever you’ve been–STAY THERE!

  8. Jeezelouisie says:

    “STUD” Baby??? No, just NO.

  9. Jayna says:

It’s amazing how she did that extensive second round of plastic surgery, another nose job, something with her jaw, etc., and looked barely like herself and now looks like she did after she got her nose job but nothing else on her face. That’s a good thing, though.

    Aren’t they Trump supporters?

  10. Dolkite says:

“We’re not talented or even relevant, but we DID have a baby recently and we know all you gossip hounds are suckers for any woman who achieves GETTING PREGNANT and so you’ll all be waiting with bated breath for Heidi’s BABY BUMP and all the DESIGNER BABY ACCESSORIES we’re planning on endorsing. Come on…it’s a BAAAAYBEEE…”

  11. Appalachian says:

Not super famous anymore? We’re they “super famous” to begin with? I always thought they were try-hards doing whatever they’d could to extend their 15 minutes at all costs.

Wait…..didn’t they cover their house in crystals???

    • Pinetree13 says:

Lol yeah the delusion is strong with these ones….and yes they blew their ‘fortune’ on crystals. 😳

  12. me says:

Why should we care about making them “famous” again? More like “we blew through our MTV cash, please make us rich again…we have a kid now”. Nope. Don’t care to see you on TV again. But villains do seem to be popular this year…although they weren’t the only reason the show was successful. On their own, I don’t think they’d make a good show. Who would they fight and attack lol?

  13. Mrs.K says:

They do it as both of them are unemployed and uneducated. Only way they can make money is to try to stay relevant.

  14. Norman Garza says:

Staying relevant for Speidi is not much more than shouting for attention and trashing Lauren Conrad including her son.

  15. Anastasia says:

That poor child appears to have their original faces.

I’ll add to the chorus of nos. Don’t care, never will. Go away.

  16. moo says:

Because working a “normal” job is so beneath you??? … wow.

  17. Nicole says:

They also love being alt-right famous sooooo…nah yall can stay in 2007 where you belong

  18. A Fan says:

    A relaunch? Eff off.

    [*Go get a real job.*]
