Ivanka Trump spoke privately to her dad about his policy of putting children in cages

Ivanka Trump heads to work in Washington D.C.

Here’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot in the past week: while I’ve never had any time for the “family values” Republicans and their brand of misogyny, I think we’re now completely past the moment in time when any Republican can EVER say anything about importance of families and the sanctity of human life. Not when their party is ripping babies away from mothers and putting small children in cages. Speaking of, Ivanka Trump has made “families and children’s issues” one of her signature issues. She has not said one f–king word publicly about the caged children. Apparently, she vaguely brought it up with her father, which we only know because Trump vaguely brought it up in a meeting:

Ivanka Trump met with her father, President Donald Trump, on Tuesday to discuss the images of immigrant families being separated at the US-Mexico border, White House spokesman Hogan Gidley told CNN.

“She offered the President her support and she said she would talk to any member of Congress to help find a legislative solution to the issue,” Gidley said. After the meeting, Ivanka Trump called House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California and Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, both Republican lawmakers with whom she developed a close relationship during her push on the child tax credit. She agrees with her father’s sentiments that he hates the family separation issue and doesn’t want it to occur, although she has remained publicly silent on the topic.

Her private conversation with her father was first revealed by the President during a closed-door meeting Tuesday evening with House Republicans.

“He mentioned Ivanka talked to him about that,” New York’s Republican Rep. Chris Collins told reporters after the meeting. Collins continued: “His daughter had seen the images and said for a lot of reasons we should be dealing with this. And that is what this bill does.”

[From CNN]

This is Ivanka wanting you to know that she watches the news and wanders into the Oval Office to say “daddy, can we do something?” And he says “no” and then he starts ranting and raving about something else. When really, the best way for Ivanka to get his attention would be to start a conversation about her breasts.

Before she was working for her father’s real-estate company — and then his White House — Ivanka Trump tried to make a go of it in modeling. It was a career in which Donald Trump, famous for bedding and wedding models, so keenly wanted his daughter to succeed that he told friends at the time Ivanka would be wise to get breast implants, according to a new book on the Trump family.

“Donald wanted it for her, bad, to the point where he suggested to friends that breast implants might help her along,” author Emily Jane Fox writes in Born Trump, which was released on Tuesday. President Trump’s sister, Maryanne, was so mortified that she petitioned one of her brother’s friends to talk him out of letting her niece get plastic surgery.

“When his friend confronted him about it, he denied that [Ivanka] was getting implants,” Fox writes. “At the end of the call, he asked, ‘Why not, though?’ ”

[From People]

Not that it even matters in this horror show, but Ivanka has had a ton of plastic surgery, all bought and paid for by daddy. Of course she got a boob job. She’s also had her eyes done and some other face work. Anything to please daddy.

I take whatever she says with a grain of salt. Disgusting, selfish woman.

  2. Tootsie McJingle says:

Twitter is a horrible, dismal place right now. Facebook is pretty bad too. I know not everyone is a fan of the political posts on this site, but I want to say that I am personally grateful. This site helps reassure me that the whole world is not insane and there are reasonable, moral, humane people still left out there. Thank you Kaiser, CB, Hecate and Corey.

    • Ruyana says:

      Agree, absolutely.

    • minx says:

      Yes, co-sign.

    • Esmom says:

Agreed. I usually enjoy Twitter but it feels way too chaotic right now. FB has been pretty much dead to me since the election. Too many people I know mindlessly posting fake s^it with zero regard for the havoc they are wreaking.

    • Floydee Mercer says:

I, also, very much appreciate the de-normalization of the fascist regime which this site allows. I find it impossible these days to find any £***s to give about Jlo or pop culture when atrocities against humanity in the name of Jesus Christ himself are happening on American soil … “but the abortions” …

I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to learn that these poor innocents are being exploited even further by passing them off to a depraved cabal of GOP preverts.

      • OriginalLala says:

yes, this is what I fear as well – little children in supremely vulnerable positions are open season for perverts who want to exploit them, and the gov’t couldn’t give a shit.

    • Tate says:

      Enthusiastically agree.

    • Sparkly says:

Yes, agreed and my thanks as well! I usually don’t comment on these posts because I never feel like I have anything constructive to add. I feel like I’ve been screaming into a void these past couple years, and too often I try to hide from it all. I’m always grateful to see decent people keeping necessary conversations going and publicly speaking out about these atrocities.

    • Raina says:

I agree that it’s good to be reminded of sanity during this freak show period in time. I barely bother with FB anymore, I get too worked up.

But, dear GOD, do these two have punchable faces. It’s like I’m about to start hitting myself to get it out.

    • Lilly says:

So many simply can’t admit they’re wrong, even at the expense of babies. I am lucky enough that on fb I don’t have any friends who support #presidentmiller. But, when you live in the world, there it is and I’m so grateful for like-minded people out there. Thank you cb and commenters.

    • BCity says:

I feel the exact same way. Couldn’t sleep last night thinking about those poor children and got up to read CB, because all of you give me hope. Thank you, Kaiser and every single one of the kind and lovely people here ❤️❤️

    • Scarlett says:

Same here… I’m purposely NOT on facebook & twitter for that reason. But I was on YOUTUBE watching news clips from a few news sites. And I kept repeating the same question over and over again: “WHERE IS IVANKA TRUMP?” because she champions herself as the goddess of women and children. Interestingly enough I hardly received any comments bad or good. SO is Ivanka irrelevant or is she just to precious to touch? I can not stand her, the fakeness, the smile, the smugness, the lap of luxury, the $86,000,000 salary, the I am wonder woman persona. Is there really a God?

  3. Jenns says:

Cool story, bro. But it didn’t happen.

Ivanka and Jared are bringing in millions. She’s not going to say a thing to her “daddy” and risk upsetting him. This is how is always plays out with her. Something terrible happens, then there is a leak or comment made about how upset she is, and then radio silence.

    • Tiffany says:

But they are in debt for well over a billion.

      • grizzled says:

Not any more. Jared found someone to assume the debt. No idea what the taxpayers are in for.

    • Lightpurple says:

You are giving her way too much credit. She won’t say anything to Daddy because she fully supports this policy. She has been busily posting Perfect Aryan Mother pictures for weeks.

    • lucy2 says:

My first thought was she floated the idea of her fashion company providing uniforms for the kids. Seriously I wouldn’t be surprised.

      • minx says:

You are probably right, wouldn’t be surprised at all.

      • Marley31 says:

This is so sad on every occasion and I am wondering how all this can be legal. I have a 13yr old and her being a few months old or a teenager I would be raising he’ll. Who is watching out for the safety of these children?? This is sad, ridiculous and down right inhuman and once again I feel its illegal. How can the government take a child away from there parents for no apparent reason only because of were they are from. 😞😞😞

    • flan says:

I think she might have said something.

Not because she is so moral, but because she sees that this is turning off even some of the people who voted for him (as well as make them look ridiculous abroad).

  4. Digital Unicorn says:

Of course she spoke to Daddy and then leaked the news, gotta help promote the idea that its the Dems fault.

And hell yeah to all the plastic surgery, she looks like a new person from when she was younger. She’s turned herself into Daddy’s fantasy pron star, complete with big fake ass boobs. He’s always had a creepy fetish about her and she knows it and plays on it to get what she wants out of him.

They are one sick grifter mob family.

  5. Tiffany says:

So Samantha Bee was……right all along. Huh. Who knew. Right, everyone with common sense.

  6. minx says:

I hate this woman and her father so, so much. It’s too fukcing bad they have to endure the “images” of these children, with no concern for the actual people in the images.
Anyway, she’s strange looking, even with all the surgery. I remember her early modeling pictures and boobs weren’t her problem. She was kind of a butterface, round face with no cheekbones, droopy eyes, small chin—in short, like dear old dad.

    • Skylark says:

I find her very strange looking too, somehow unfinished, which is often the case with those who’ve had so much obvious plastic surgery. And no amount of money can fix those cold, dead, lizard eyes.

    • Lightpurple says:

She’s had so much surgery in her face that the movement of her mouth is limited.

    • Nancy says:

She looks like a lizard to me with huge, fake, gross mammary glands. If anyone fits the look of the Reptilian Elite, it’s this POS. As false of a person as Melania is, I wonder if she had her moments of wondering why her husband wassoclose to his daughter. These are lethal people. Never dreamt I’d live through the horrors of a family like this, with that man as president. It’s a GD nightmare.

      • Scarlett says:

Nancy… it’s a nightmare that doesn’t seem to end. I know I know, we have 2.5 more years (HA HA HA AHHH) but I’m concerned that people just don’t think and are okay with this… I can’t stand her either. She was awful looking in her modeling years, major reason that career never went anywhere. The fact that this woman is now basically in charge with her criminal husband is beyond depressing. I’m sure all other presidents were also looking to get rich from White House but not at this Trump level.

    • Tiffany :) says:

Unless your goal is to be a bikini model, large breasts won’t help a woman be a editorial or runway model. At least that is what I was told when watched ANTM in the early years! It makes me sad to think she might have had serious surgery based on the pressures of her dad and his ignorance.

But, she doesn’t deserve my empathy, so I take it back.

  7. Bella bella says:

That claim of “family values” is exactly what I wrote and asked my Republican Congressman Faso about yesterday. How he can be so hypocritical and craven to even pretend to have them. And then I wept.

    • Pandy says:

At least you wrote so good on you Bella bella. Complicit Barbie – what exactly is her job? Wander in to report optics don’t look so good?

  8. Jerusha says:

Why would any member of Congress, even the vile Rs, give a flying fvck what ivanka says? Everyone connected to Dicktator-in-Chief is covered in sh1t and they stink to high heaven.

  9. Always Lurking says:

These two are disgusting and creepy!Big yikes!
Meanwhile, that devil known as Corey Lewandowski mocked a little girl with down syndrome who was separated from her mother. I hope there is a special place in hell for that disgusting pos.

    • Nancy says:

I simply couldn’t believe that. This whole regime are without souls. Just as the trumpster mocked the reporter. They detain children, strip them away from their parents and to add insult to injury have the audacity to go after a girl with down syndrome. These kids just don’t have a chance.

    • Tiffany :) says:

It’s really troubling that Corey thought he could make such comments in public and everything would be ok. If they are this horrible in public, what’s behind the scenes is so much worse.

I have no doubt that Lewandowski is still firmly implanted in the Trump organizations, even though he was “fired” from the campaign.

      • Naomi11 says:

Sure he thought it was okay. Look at all the crap the a-hole in the White House says and gets away with. There is definitely a special place in hell for each and every one of the.

  10. Shelley says:

Her base is his base. I’m sure there will be folks who will buy her bags and clothes. This is a branding issue for her, not one of civil liberties and humanity. If she was a true Jew with a knowledge of her history, explain friendship with Steven Miller an other racists that inhabit the administration. IT delights in trolling folks with her Instagram life while simultaneously promoting image that path to good life is Trump’s policies. Her meaningless pretensions are simply meaningless.

  11. Erinn says:

I feel bad for CHILD Ivanka. I don’t feel bad for the complicit mess that this woman is… but I do have a little bit of sorrow for what her childhood/early teens must have been. I can’t even imagine how much that kind of thing would eff you up when it comes to self-image/worth.

But at least she wasn’t stuck in an effing cage.

  12. Lila says:

I am really tired of Saint Ivanka.

  13. seraph7 says:

It’s disgusting she hasn’t got the decency to speak up for defenceless children, but she doesn’t even have loyalty to her own side. Always trying to make herself and Jared look good at everyone else’s expense. This ‘both sides’ nonsense she and Melania are trying to push is infuriating.

When justice comes for this trash, I don’t want to hear one word about decency, civility and compassion towards her and her criminal family. They had none for the children and parents. They had none for us.

  14. Wood Dragon says:

    Sure ya did, Ivanka. Sure.

  15. Ruyana says:

It doesn’t need “legislation”. It needs one phone call from her insane father. He, Miller and Sessions dreamed this up and they can stop it.

  16. Snazzy says:

You know, when it comes to Ivanka, I don’t even dislike her. I hate her. And I hate the word hate because it’s so strong and unforgiving. But yup, I hate her.

  17. Lightpurple says:

Just stop! Princess Nagini the Corrupt of the Modt Sacred Horcruxed Vagina probably gave the green light on this policy. Nothing goes through this administration without her input. She’s only talking to Daddy about the images because she is getting tons of flack & it’s tarnishing her brand. Recent polls put her approval ratings in the low 30s while other presidents’s daughters are double that. Exploiting her own kids has backfired. And this. There is no need for the feckless snake who supports Daddy to reach out to Congress. No laws mandate this. This is Trump policy, nothing more. And if Susan Collins takes that call & continues to give his monster legitimacy, she should have “Idiot Mean Girl” tattooed on her face.

    • minx says:

Happy to hear that her approval rating is that low. Lower 30s is really the Trump base and no one else, so 😝.

  18. LW says:

I call bullshit, Ivanka is cancelled.

  19. Maria says:

Is there any part of Ivanka that hasn’t had work done?

  20. Juliette says:

They are all terrible. Check out the “summer camp” photo that Vanessa Trump posted today. Not tone deaf. Straight up evil. The lot of them can go to hell. Beyond sickened watching this unfold and knowing i am powerless to help. I sit here raging daily waiting for something to stop this nightmare.

    • Scarlett says:

same here… I’m just hoping that the people paid to do these jobs (house & senate) can have their brains and hearts moved at this insanity of a sh*t show. No need to be a doormat but we don’t need to cruel either. Ivanka constantly showing us she is the most amazing mother is tone deaf and people buy it. I HATE HER. Samantha was right, besides why did she have up apologize? There was nobody thread just an adjective to describe the real Ivanka.

  21. dot says:

I dislike her. I dislike her father. I won’t comment on her face or body…plastic surgery or no plastic surgery. Her looks are irrelevant… her actions matter. I think focusing on her looks takes away from focusing on her actions.

    • minx says:

I find it cathartic to comment on her looks, it’s a way of letting off steam and expressing how much I loathe her. She’s vain and thinks she’s hot, she’s spent a lot of money on that. Her looks reflect her black dead soul.

      • wildflower says:

@minx Especially because she is constantly pushed at us as this great beauty, which she isn’t.

      • dot says:

I can see that… but for me personally, I feel even worse about myself when I comment on other women’s looks in negative ways. Even the women I hate.

      • Nancy says:

I agree with minx, it is cathartic and does release steam. I also agree with wildflower, to us she is the daughter of the Antichrist, and to those who cheer them on, she is their cover girl. I don’t agree with dot. Even if her looks weren’t store bought, she is ugly on the inside for the lies she tells constantly, her disregard of her go America, while she gets richer with children in China making her products overseas. These are not good people, and their only interest is in themselves. I feel not one ounce of remorse or guilt stating honestly she is ugly inside and out.

  22. S says:

Oh, good for her, she’s so brave and pretty. … All of these people are monsters and I hope that the God they claim to believe in is real, simply so that they can spend eternity where they belong: frying for all time.

  23. Tess says:

It honestly would not surprise me at all if I found out the Kushners were somehow making money off of these child internment camps. I can almost bet that Ivanka’s solution would be to make the camps “more humane” by allowing each child a donated stuffed animal instead of getting to see their parents and family again.

  24. Feedmechips says:

If you looked like Cheeto orangutan, wouldn’t you want plastic surgery too?

  25. Jay says:

Nah, they’re still going to claim family values. Because to them, family values has always been about white families. And white families making more babies so POC don’t outnumber white people.

  26. Marigold says:

I think I might hate her more than her father. He has time and time again shown us who he is-a willfully ignorant, hateful, racist, sexist windbag. She pretends to be something else and tricks too many people into thinking she’s the rational Trump. This “story” is just another tool in her arsenal.

  27. Marjorie says:

I am from New Jersey and live here today. The Kushner family has lived here since they immigrated to the US after surviving the holocaust. Jared’s grandmother, Ivanka’s children’s great-grandma, survived by hiding in walls and tunnels of the city hall where her family lived. Her brother and parents and most of her extended family were killed. She was one of only about 150 who survived out of thousands in their town. (This is all from memory, but Google Rae Kushner for more details). There is a Jewish school in Livingston named for Rae that teaches peace and remembrance. Ivanka needs to say something, directly, for real. Otherwise I guess we have to hope they all get hauled off to prison.

  28. SJF says:

She warned him about the optics, not the policy.

    Big difference.

  29. hogtowngooner says:

Oh OK, Ivanka has the sads about these poor children. It didn’t stop her from posting that tone-deaf picture of HER child safe in his mother’s embrace on Twitter, but OK. Sure.

But she also has a position in the White House. She has the ability to do more than “talk privately” with her idiot father who is wreaking havoc across the country. But she won’t actually DO anything, or speak about it publicly. Some “adviser” there.

I hope her complicity takes her down in all this. She shouldn’t get to slither away because she was sad about it. She knew it, and she did nothing.

  30. Chrissy says:

Some jews she and her husband are. Standing by and allowing her father to recreate Nazi Germany putting humans into cells and stealing babies… But, I guess when you grow up with a silver spoon because your parent (s) are crooks, I guess you just think of the Spanish as “the help” and less than human. Pigs, they are nothing but complicit, despicable pigs.

  31. why? says:

No she didn’t. This is just another fake story that Ivanka leaked about herself (like the time she leaked that she convinced her father to bomb Syria because of the images of the children or that she and Jared for the moderating voices in the WH) because many people who Lawrence O had on his show last night were calling Ivanka and Melania out for not doing anything as these kids are ripped from their parents.

Just days ago, Stephen Miller was giving interviews about how they love the backlash and chaos this is causing and now today, we are seeing Ivanka throwing her father under the bus to save herself and the Dotard saying that he will end the separations, but remember he also promised to save DACA and put sanctions on the Russians. Then once the press lost interest in DACA and the sanctions, he reversed them or let the policies lapse. Why is the press always falling for the Dotard’s cons?

  32. girl_ninja says:

She has had so much work done. Too bad she’s rotting from the inside.
