I enjoy Shia LaBeouf for many reasons. He doesn’t seem like one of those interchangeable pretty boys (like say, Zac Efron or Chace Crawford) and he’s worked hard to carve out his own credibility as an actor. He’s probably the most A-list of Young Hollywood, but that comes with a price - and that price might be some kind of eating disorder, according to Star Magazine. Star is claiming that Shia pretty much lives on “Parliament cigarettes and black coffee” and that he probably only consumes 700 calories a day. They also claim that Shia is down to 140 pounds - down from his old weight of 165 pounds:
Shia LaBeouf is a real-life Transformer! The 5’9” star of Transformers used to be appropriately plump. But now that he’s on the road to superstardom, he barely eats, a source tells Star.
“Shia’s been living on Parliament cigarettes and black coffee, which make him lose his appetite. He probably only gets about 700 calories a day.”
The 23-year-old actor weighs in at 140 lbs. - down from a healthier 165 - according to Kansas-based certified personal trainer Marty Tuley. “It looks like he went on a crash diet to lose so much weight,” says Tuley. “He’s lost all of his muscle mass to get this unhealthy thin look.”
But Shia likes his skinny frame, explains the source. “He wants to be slender. He says it makes him look better on the big screen.”

Shia has always been kind of a small kid, so I’m not sure what they’re talking about. Sure, when he was a teenager, he went through a chubby phase (most of us do at some point during puberty), but he’s been slender for a while now. And he’s so short! He’s only 5’9”! Oh, well. This could be true, I guess. If he comes over to my house, I’ll feed him. That’s what Shia needs - someone to mother him a little bit, get him to eat better and cut out this cigarette and coffee business. Maybe a meatloaf? Or some roast chicken.

He is one of those young actors who get better looking with age. I didn’t think he was that cute, when he 1st showed up on the A-list scene.

he was just seen out exercising. i think he takes better care of himself than this story would have us believe. i also think he would look better a little bulked up-it would make him look older and more distinguished and not such a pre-pubescent hipster. i hate that body type and dont know why its an aspiration for him. yuck.

The AA diet… smokes and coffee.
If he really did stop drinking booze, that could explain the weight loss. I lost 15 lbs. pretty quick when I quit drinking. -

I don’t get it. Am I the only one who does not like this kid? Why is he an A lister? He was on like a Nickelodeon show or something, wasn’t he? Maybe I’ve missed something- was he in a real movie at all? I don’t find him attractive at all, he’s like a tapered little man. Why is this tapered little man an A lister? Because of Transformers? Shelve this boy and show us Channing Tatum! Now THAT is a man. Shia LeBeuf could not hold Channing Tatum’s jockstrap!

nj, Shia did many movies on the Disney Channel one of which was titled “Tru Confessions”. He played a mentally challenged younger brother to the lead. That movie sealed the deal with me that he can act. And as far as Channing Tatum… he’s attractive but good god that boy has the worst acting abilities I’ve seen. Now granted the only thing I’ve seen with him in it was that dancing movie.
I can’t wait to see what else Shia is going to do. I love me some of that boy.

Okay, my bad. Ihou shalt not judge acting chops by Transformers movies! (Unless its Megan Fox). Funny enough I have never seen Channing Tatum act. And I’m a bit out of the target age demographic for Shia. All the teeny girls at my beach think he’s JUST DREAMY. Sigh… I guess I’m just old.

Ah, man, I got a big old school girl crush on this fellow.
That video of him talking to a fan on a US morning breakfast show just did it for me: he’s cute, self depreciating, kooky, mature beyond his years and has the greatest smile. Awww.
I just want to take him home and feed him -lol -(though he would have to step outside to smoke ;-))

He’s a good kid. He got nerves, balls. Channing Tatum doesn’t have that, that’s why he can’t do dream movies like Indy Jones and Transformers. When you making movies that define your childhood, you gonna put your life on the line. Sad how Spielberg is using him like a technician though. He’s a real dude Harrison Ford type.

I’m 26. I have had a thing for him since he was on Even Stevens. He is very talented, serious, driven, and adorable no matter the role he takes on. His performance in Transformers mimics that of the Even Stevens in the way of quirkiness and mannerisms. Eagle Eye, I believe, he had more of a chance to open up theatrically though it wasn’t as mainstream as he and his people had hoped it had been. He gets better looking with age as Richard Gere once had. He has the skill and talent to be huge and widely admired just as a younger Richard or Harrison Ford..He just needs the fan backing and outstanding roles now..Best of hopes for him…

Ok he’s slender but he might age quickly and get lung cancer.

5′9″ and 140 lbs is completely normal and healthy. If he was down in the 120’s or teens, then there might be cause for concern. He probably beefed up for Transformers and now is back to his normal slender self. Kind of like James McAvoy did for Wanted.
I still watch “Holes” when I need a comfort movie and some comfort food.
