Jennifer Lopez in Christian Siriano at the People’s Choice Awards: cute or blah?

You would think that the widespread criticism of the CMAs last week would have led to E! changing up their plans for a live, in-person People’s Choice Awards. You would be wrong! LA peeps just can’t let go of their in-person awards shows and it’s a problem. It’s going to be an even bigger problem in 2021. Anyway, the People’s Choice Awards were last night people actually came out for it and I’m not seeing many masks? It looks like they were socially distanced at the show and on the red carpet at least.

Jennifer Lopez picked up an award for People’s Icon of 2019, which… I mean, sure. She wore this Christian Siriano dress which I don’t like that much, but I love that she’s wearing Siriano. Siriano has spent several years making custom designs for some of the plus-sized women in Hollywood and I love that J.Lo – someone every designer wants to dress – went with him.

Sofia Vergara wore Dolce & Gabbana – a familiar silhouette for her. She looks pretty.

Mindy Kaling in a sequined number. I can’t believe she was able to hide her whole second pregnancy and now she’s all “back to the red carpet.” I love this dork and I kind of dig how she matched her eye makeup to her dress?

Here’s Christina Hendricks in a surprisingly okay Marchesa number. She’s such a bombshell, my God.

I like it. In fact, I like all the looks listed.

    Not digging Sofia’s dress.

J Lo is a beautiful woman and can wear basically anything. I don’t know if it’s the super tight ponytail or a bit too much Botox, but she looks a bit Nicole Kidman like in recent pictures. She had a video on IG where she was talking and her face looked like a very well kept 50 year old woman. She was glowing.

I don’t love Sofia’s dress, but kudos to her for at least wearing a mask.
I like Mindy’s dress, the colors are so pretty.

There is zero reason to have this be an in-person award show.

I do!’t know if it’s because of the pandemic, but I find myself completely not caring about red carpets anymore! What’s wrong with me??

I don’t think there is anything wrong with you. Maybe the problem is more about the shallowness of the red carpet? It used to be fun eye candy…but now, in light of everything, all I can think is – why are certain rich people allowed to do whatever they want, while others suffer?

I love Mindys dress. JLo looks great except for the hair. Sofia’s dress is awful. Just yuck. Cristina looks great.

This award show was at least done more safely than the CMAs. There was social distancing, celebs waited in their cars until it was time to go on stage, and then they left. I’d say that’s fine.

There are ways to pull off events safely with very low attendance and safety measures, and it seems like they follows them.

I love everyone’s dress, but Christina’s. Christina’s dress not so much, but she has that gorgeous face!

    Jennifer’s dress is blah.

    No Leslie Jones?!

Is bombshell code for curvy? Because if so, my boobs have got that locked down.

Jennifer Lopez’s is the only dress I really like. She can wear so many different styles; it’s incredible. Sofia’s is okay. I’m not into the mermaid sequins on Mindy’s, and Christina’s washes her out.
