Demi Moore sort of looks back to normal after her altered Fendi runway appearance

In January, Demi Moore walked the quarantine runway for the Fendi show. She got a lot of headlines from the appearance because I guess we hadn’t seen much of Demi in the past year, and the photos went viral. They went viral because no one could understand what she did to her face. Demi’s been nipping and tucking for years, but much of what she’s gotten done over the years has been pretty good-quality work. You can see that she looks younger, that her face looks tighter, that she seems to be ageless in that particular way of surgical enhancement. But her Fendi appearance was something else.

So was it makeup or something else at Fendi? Demi posted the Instagram above this week and people were trying to find some clues. I don’t even know anymore? Something with her cheeks and jawline, right? But the work doesn’t look as strikingly different here. Maybe it was just the lighting and makeup at the Fendi show which made Demi look SO different. I’ve gotten bad at determining exactly what was done at this point, all I can tell is when someone looks notably different. Fendi photos:

Here are some photos of Demi from a year ago, February 2020. She looked like she had some good-quality plastic surgery, but she still looked like herself.

She had a facelift and it had not settled in time for the show. It probably still has not settled, 2 months later, but she FaceTuned the hell out of the IG post.

  2. escondista says:

NOOOOOPE. still looks strange. She can do what she wants with her own face but i can also have an opinion. She would have been much more beautiful without getting work done but I hope that she is happy with what she has done. That’s what truly matters here.

  3. Emm says:

I think that IG photo is a weird angle and different lighting plus the glasses and she can tweak it however she wants so it’s really hard to tell if she looks the same as she did on the runway. That last pic of her though, she looks great and she looks like herself. Not sure when that was taken but she needed to stop right then and there.

    Harpo….. who dis woman?

  5. Justpassingby says:

The hollow cheeks are gone, but her nose and lips do look different. Did she get a lip lift maybe?

    • Esmom says:

I was going to say it’s her lips and nose that look the most different. She most definitely does not look back to normal if you look closely. You could see that in the Fendi non-runway shot and you can see it in her IG photos. The change looks less dramatic on her IG at first glance maybe because she doesn’t have the dramatic styling of the runway show but the changes are very discernible to me. I feel like she has much more of that generic plastic surgery look now. Yikes.

  6. NotSoSocialButterfly says:

I still think she had fat removal/sculpting to her face and it was magnified by contouring make up.
She doesn’t look one bit like she used to.

    • Jenn says:

It looked to me almost like a threaded facelift, or more specifically like the theater equivalent (with strings, clips, and medical tape). She still looks radically different in this photo, yeah.

    • lucy2 says:

That’s what I thought too, maybe something minor, and a lot of weird makeup. She didn’t have those crazy runway cheekbones in any of her instagram posts, so I figured extreme contouring.

  7. Andrea says:

Tragic. Why must women (although I suppose man do it too) do this to themselves? I love Justine Bateman, age gracefully. She’s so cool!

    • EllenOlenska says:

I just read the Justine Bateman article in vanity fair because you mentioned her and it was fantastic. Thanks for prompting me to look it up!

No, it’s definitely not back to normal. It’s super obvious that she did a blurring tool or some Photoshop in a swift swipe up the side of her face. There’s no texture there and it’s all the same color. I kind of feel sorry for her, I’ve been getting Botox regularly for about four years. Every year I get a little filler underneath my eyes. For filler I had been seeing my regular guy, who is a board-certified plastic surgeon. Botox a doctor or PA but kind of a skin center…anyway Then, I got lazy I was at the skin center after Covid restrictions were lifted, getting some of that Botox. And I figured why the hell not I’ll just ask them to do my under eyes with filler while I’m here. Big mistake. It was so botched and swollen. Just awful. I was going through a divorce at the time and my ex husband had a lot of excitement at making fun of my appearance. A**hole. I kinda hid out hoping that it would settle … waited about six weeks. Finally caved and had my regular guy dissolve it…. But I was super self-conscious about it in the meantime…. and it humbled me quite a bit – gave me a sense of humility. As in I’m so vain laugh at myself sort of.

She looked fine in the feb 2020 photo, she really didn’t have to do anything else! But I’ve heard that these procedures can be quite addictive. You start to chase perfection which ironically ends up making you look more nipped and tucked.

    • TeeBee says:

I’m turning 54 this year, and for a while I’ve been looking at my face, pulling the sides up ever so slightly to get rid of the deepening lines around my nose and mouth, and I think it would look lovely to do that ONE little change, ever so slight, but what a fresh look!

Then I think, what if it isn’t that subtle, that it gets pulled too tight, that it goes horribly awry, or even worse, that it leads to more and more changes, because that often is how it gets started.

And I end this little vanity session with the relief that I have a life where a few lines, a naturally aging face is just fine. And then I read articles like this, and am even more grateful that I am not in an industry or line of work where it isn’t even a choice. It is an occupational hazard.

I thought that was our Spanish cucumber princess Hilaria in that top photo…

  11. Nerdista says:

Can we also talk about Ryan Gosling’s nose job, Ronan Farrow’s continuous face tweaking, John Krasisnkis nose, Jake Gyllenhaals nose…

  12. ennie says:

It looked like she was sucking in her cheeks like I do to dream I don’t have jowls- on top of whatever else she has been doing.
She was so beautiful and has overcome so many things. She seems she finds so hard not to cling to her former youth and embrace some “flaws” that come with age. I understand plastic and dermatology work, but there are limits to what can be done, and some people can get away with things others don’t.
I like listening to her interviews, and generally like her.

  13. Stacy Dresden says:

    I’m scared

  14. MaryContrary says:

It’s a whole lot of lip filler for sure. I do understand the desire to look younger. I always dismissed it-but now in my mid-50s I really get it. It’s not like I want to look 25 again-I’d be happy with my early 40s. I think when you live someplace like LA too, everyone else around you is doing it, and you don’t realize how strange it is when that tight face, big lipped look is reflected back at you everywhere.

    • Apple Tart says:

I feel the same I turn 50 in a few months. And keep pushing my forehead up debating to get botox or not lol. I think aging gracefully is beautiful. But a little help never hurts.

  15. Jill says:

I think she had her nose altered and her upper lip shortened in addition to hella lip injections and fillers . It reminds me of a friend who had fat transfer into her face. She loves it, but she doesn’t look like herself anymore.

  16. jeff says:

She looks like Bridget Moynihan in that pic. Why oh why do beautiful women do this to themselves?!

  17. Jules says:

Strange world we live in when this is considered back to normal.

  18. Julia K says:

Wish we lived in a world where all of us were able to feel comfortable with our age and appearance. So sad that she feels a need to chase after her youth and beauty, instead of gracefully living in the present.

  19. mtec says:

Something she got done got botched for sure. It’s very unfortunate.

  20. Em says:

Did she get a nose job?

  21. newmenow says:

Enjoying reasonably good health and aging is a gift.
My family does not have a history of growing older, my parents both passed in their late 40’s.
I hit 50 and I stopped wearing makeup, and dyeing or perming my hair, gave up perfume too but that is because I now can’t find a light scent I like. I’m pretty comfy and I do smell of Ivory soap, but wish I had stopped wearing 4″ heels years earlier because my feet are a wreck now. lol

Hollywood is obsessed with looks. Not talent, but youth and looks and power, of course.
Gotta be a real head trip to constantly be only valued on your looks.

Demi Moore is pretty much a self-made success, she did not come from money and had a tough childhood. She broke ground and was the highest paid actress as one point, IIRC.

More celebs should look to Ali McGraw for aging style. She was doing yoga in the 1970’s, and seems to have had minimal work done, seems to have retired from public life and appears to be happy when she does do interviews.

  22. Granger says:

It’s impossible to tell from that Instagram photo what Demi Moore really looks like. It’s the easiest thing in the world to use filters now, and there are subtle-enough filters out there that don’t make you look like a doll. They just make your face look smoother and brighter, your eyes brighter, etc.

  23. Jaded says:

I’m 68 and have let everything settle naturally. I would never consider botox, fillers or anything other than a good skin care regime, no tanning, healthy eating, exercise and sunblock. Nor do I dye my hair. Because I’m not a celebrity I don’t feel the pressure or suffer the age-shaming that they do, and Mr. Jaded loves me au naturale; that’s what counts.

  24. OliviaJoy1995 says:

That doesn’t at all look like her in the IG post either.

  25. Nestaw says:

Take a sharpie and draw a lign from the corners of your mouth to the ears, do each side.
Then you can sport the true south park Canadian look. Own it!
