MerlinsDad and I are both fully vaccinated.
    Get that vaccine y’all!!!!!

    • sa says:

Me too, got my second shot yesterday! So far I’m not even feeling any side effects 🙂

    • (The OG) Jan90067 says:

Mazel tov! Happy for you both! 😊

I’m already looking to the boosters in the fall, and then I want to go to NY and see a Broadway show!

      • MerlinsMom1018 says:

If Pfizer says hey y’all we got a booster, MerlinsDad and I are getting that one too!!!!
Really happy to see so many fellow CB’ers are vaccinated or are getting first or 2nd dose!

    • clomo says:

I’m getting my second shot in a week, and there have been no new cases in my area when 6 months ago a floor and a half of the 3 floor hospital here was full of it. I’m really worried about India, they are getting hit hard, it’s very sad. I have friends over there and know they are struggling a lot with all that comes with this virus.

    • minx says:

My husband and I were lucky to have had our second shots done by early February, it was our adult kids I was concerned about. But now they are both two weeks past their second shots, so phew, big relief.

    • booboocita says:

Got my second Pfizer vaccine about three weeks ago. California prioritized educators. I’m looking forward to seeing all my students in the fall again, although I’ve been told that we’ll all still wear masks on campus.

    • Christine says:

Fully Pfizer vaccinated too, as of last week! I am a single mom, and I have been terrified I would get covid and die, and leave my 11 year old alone! No horrific tale of side effects to tell, I am just so grateful that science got us here, and I hope everyone gets it.

    • Saucy&Sassy says:

I’m fully vaccinated–Moderna–and it’s been a month since my second shot. I’ve started getting out with my friends. I can’t tell you how great it is to have a semblance of normalcy again. I’ve gotten so used to wearing a mask that it doesn’t bother me to continue to do so indoors. I hope all of those who aren’t vaccinated yet will have access to a vaccine very soon!

  2. MaryContrary says:

The FDA will be approving Pfizer for the 12-15 year olds later this week -so that means I can get my youngest vaccinated-woo hoo. The rest of us are two weeks past our second shot-but I won’t feel more secure until he’s vaccinated too.

    • sassafras says:

Same with me. Once I get my youngest vaccinated, I’ll be so relieved. I’ll be praying for my friends and family in other countries to get vaccinated next.

    • Christine says:

I am so jealous. My son is 11, and I have already reverted to my 15 year old self, trying to figure out if I can doctor his birth certificate to make him 12, just like I did when I needed to change a grade on my report card.

On a completely different note, kids today are so screwed. They will never understand the White Out V. written report card glory.

  3. Merricat says:

The Merricats are also vaccinated! Two days of feeling blah were nothing compared to the weeks and months of Covid misery. I will happily get my booster in the autumn.

  4. fluffy_bunny says:

I am fully vaccinated and my husband and son will start getting vaccinated at the end of the month. They are waiting because my son is really busy with school and can’t afford to miss any time if he has side effects.

    • sassafras says:

I’m hearing that from other teenage/young adult parents! I hope that and this new approval means we’ll have a “surge” of young people getting vaccinated over the next three months and Joe will meet his next goal!!

  5. Natters says:

Fully vaccinated and so are just about all my friends (except my brother and his wife who chose to believe that the vaccine will effect their future unborn children). Last Week With John Oliver did a great show on the progress of the vaccine in the US and it was depressing because there is a large amount of Americans still undecided and an even larger who refuse to get vaccinated (mostly Republicans). So the US may not achieve herd immunity because of these idiots. Meanwhile other countries would literally and figuratively kill for the opportunity to have the same access to vaccinations as we do.

    • (The OG) Jan90067 says:

I hear you, Natters. I was just replying the very same thing to someone in my Twitter feed. Apparently, NY is now BRIBING people with Yankees and Mets tickets to get the shot: show up, get vaxxed, and get in for free.

Makes me so ashamed in my fellow Americans. Like you said, so many others are literally DYING to get the shot.

      • fluffy_bunny says:

WV is giving residents of a certain age savings bonds for getting vaccinated. So basically paying them.

      • cassandra says:

Embarrassing, but if it works I say go for it.

I work in healthcare and it is truly mortifying how many of my peers are refusing the vaccine. It really makes me doubt their judgement and ability to care for their patients.

      • Ann says:

I saw somewhere that in NJ some places were offering free beer. Whatever it takes.

    • Christine says:

I completely agree with you. I am so grossed out by all of the people refusing to get it. Yeah, you are awesome. If Covid mutates, beyond the capacity for the current vaccines, we will all be really effing grateful to die, because you are stupid.

If free beer and savings bonds are working with these dummies, why isn’t the threat of IMPENDING death? I will never understand, no matter how many times I try.

  6. paranormalgirl says:

me, MrParanormalgirl, and the spawn are all vaccinated.

  7. Jensies says:

Fully vaxxed at my house, lucky that all extended family is vaxxed too. Going to visit my parents in the Midwest for the first time in 18 months and I feel nervous but also so much better since we’re all vaccinated.

  8. fabulousfunster says:

    Go Joe!

  9. Becks1 says:

We are fully vaccinated and so are my parents and siblings!

I saw the Pfizer might be able to get a vaccine approved for kids ages 2-11 for the fall and I can’t wait for my boys to be vaccinated. Even with the vaccine for 12-16 that means both my nieces can get the vax.

    • Nic919 says:

Health Canada approved Pfizer today for 12 to 15 so I’m sure the CDC isn’t far behind.

  10. Watson says:

Congrats to everyone who was able to get vaccinated in the states!! Good luck to Biden in counteracting vaccine hesitancy and misinformation. He’s got his work cut out of him post Trump.

In regards to Britney, she isn’t wrong.

  11. SusanRagain says:

Read that headline. Came to say Me Too!
The fools I have to speak to everyday who are anti-vac have been on my last nerve for months now.
Vaccine to protect yourself and other humans. Say Yes!

    • sassafras says:

“Vaccines don’t work!” say people who have never had small pox or polio.

  12. salmonpuff says:

My husband and oldest are fully vaxxed. My middle and I go for our second next week. And when they approve it for 12-16s, my youngest will get his as soon as he can. And my oldest’s university just announced it will require vaccinations for in person learning this fall. Whew!

    • schmootc says:

Glad to see universities requiring vaccinations. I know at least one private school in my city has already announced the same for the fall. It needs to be normalized like that so the ‘hesitant’ will catch a clue. (I hate the word hesitant in that context, it sounds like it’s not a big deal.)

      • sassafras says:

I’m still using the term “vaccine hesitant” because I think it’s including in the Black and brown communities who may have legitimate concerns about “new medicines” based on historical events. But I also think white anti-vaxxers should just be called what they are, ignorant and privileged AF.

    • fluffy_bunny says:

My son’s school is not requiring vaccines. They’re in GA so what can I say other than they’re dumb. Somewhere in their housing contract you have to say you’ve been vaccinated for menningitis b so no clue why they can’t just add covid.

  13. Terri says:

I wish the pediatric vax was by weight vs age, my kids are both the products of 6′ parents, so I think my 11yo sb vaxed with my 12yo, not in the 2-11 category.

  14. goofpuff says:

The Kansas lawmaker harassing a child story was far worse that it sounds. The guy absolutely deserved to be arrested.

    • TheOriginalMia says:

My jaw dropped so many times reading that story. Absolutely bonkers behavior. He needs to be jailed and prohibited from interacting with children.

    • MerlinsMom1018 says:

You know? I have a male family member who is overly macho, overly religious and refuses to acknowledge what most of us in the family have known for years. He’s gay. He knows it, but won’t acknowledge it
This lawmaker reminds me of my family member. Just sayin

    • JanetDR says:

That was such a disturbing story! That whole classroom was violated.

  15. The Recluse says:

Got my 2nd Moderna shot yesterday!
Not feeling fabulous, but not feeling horrible either. Hopefully by tomorrow I’ll be at 100%.

    • sassafras says:

I got Moderna and only felt sort of sleepy and brain-foggy the next day. Here’s hoping the best outcome for you!

    • Terri says:

Best wishes to you, I had my second Moderna and down for couple of days, brain fog and joints first thing in the morning.

  16. jferber says:

All three in our house are now fully vaccinated. President Biden wants to go to smaller venues, like pharmacies, etc. for walk-in vaccines. Also some states are rewarding twenty-somethings with $100 or a beer voucher if they get vaccinated. Hey, whatever works.

    • fluffy_bunny says:

My city is doing vaccines at local breweries and you get a free beer.

      • SusanRagain says:

Hey, if a free beer gets folks to come and get the vaccine, I’ll put up $ for free fries.
Hey, Come get your vaccine, free beer + fries = If it works hell yes!

      • Christine says:

I will put up $$ if they want chili and cheese on those fries.

  17. Lena says:

Let’s hope there are seventy percent of the country who aren’t Afraid of vaccinations. Unfortunately I think it’s higher than thirty percent.

    • Lady D says:

My dad would literally faint at the sight of a hypodermic needle. It didn’t even have to be for him.

      • fluffy_bunny says:

He can close his eyes as soon as he sits down. I know someone who always passed out whenever she needed to have blood drawn. She just warned the tech ahead of time but she never didn’t get whatever testing she needed done.

  18. dawnchild says:

Fully vaxxed household here, but please be aware that it can be not as protective for those with immuno-compromised situations! I shared this with my friend who has RA …hope the link on this with some good statistics comes through. They’re expanding studies to these categories now so there’ll be more info soon.

  19. Ann says:

We are all fully vaccinated in our house now. My son was the last to get his second dose. My daughter got hers first, in January, as she works with pregnant women and babies. It is such a great feeling. Husband and son are off on a golf trip now, first trip in over a year.

  20. Jay says:

    I hope so, too, Joe!

Here in Toronto things seem to be trending in a good direction, with more and more people getting their first shot. I teach students who are overseas and they would do anything to have their vulnerable family members vaccinated, but can’t, while there are people who live in an abundance who can’t be bothered. It’s very disheartening, but I’m glad so many of you are protected!

  21. Kkat says:

My husband gets his second tomorrow then we will all be fully vaccinated in my house!
That was includes my brother in law and sister and my two kids.

My parents who are dumb asses who watch Fox and are on FB had their dr tell them yesterday if they get covid they will 100% die
So now they are going to get vaccinated too!
    Yay for no nonsense Drs!!🎉

My mom was but long term effects… And the Dr told her your really old and will be dead before then so it’s not a worry
    😂

  22. Mrs. Smith says:

Me and Mr. Smith are fully vaccinated and so relieved!! It feels like we (as individuals) finally got a foothold on this whole year plus craziness. But I live in the south surrounded by Trumpers, so I’m happily wearing my mask for the foreseeable future.

  23. Amando says:

I hope that happens, but there are soooo many who refuse to get vaccinated. Even so, by July 4th, open things up. The people who refuse it will just have to deal with the consequences of their choice.

  24. Rise & Shine says:

I have family in healthcare and my Dad got Covid and one of my brothers was the attending Dr. and could not allow any visitors, even myself or my kids. It was awful, one of the worst days of our lives. My Dad still is having long term covid effects, in and out of the hospital, ER, back home than back in the hospital. It is hell and never in a million years would I wish it any of you. But yeah, we all have gotten our vaccines, I have my second one scheduled and we kind of waited to make sure our parents and seniors got it first, along with healthcare workers. This has been a terribly difficult time, but finally, I think we may be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, and better and brighter days ahead for us all. And SO SO SO happy we have Joe, Jill and Kamala in there for us, love them so much! And looks like former AG Barr and Trumpies are in a little trouble now lol. .. GOOD. Love ya all!

  25. Sue says:

The Kansas lawmaker was on bath salts, right?

  26. Jewell says:

ugh those green blazers make me naseous. Why are they all so ill fitting 😬
