Tori Spelling hospitalized for mysterious stomach ailment

Tori Spelling was hospitalized twice in the past two days for severe stomach pain. Her husband, Dean McDermott, posted updates on his Twitter indicating that Tori had undergone tests and that they didn’t yet know what was wrong. People are inevitably going to make comments that she needs to eat something and speculate that her extreme thinness contributed to whatever is wrong with her. I don’t think that’s fair, because illness can strike any of us and it’s often hard to diagnose at first. If you haven’t experienced anything like that in your life, consider yourself lucky.

Tori Spelling is in recovery mode. From what, nobody knows.

The Inn Love reality star and professional marriage rumor-debunker is currently laid up in a hospital, where she has been receiving treatment for severe stomach pains.

“Tori went to the hospital last night for abdominal pain,” her rep told E! News. “They released her last night. She wasn’t feeling any better today so she returned to the hospital for more tests.”

There’s the clinical, succinct explanation. For the slightly less composed alternative, we turn to Spelling’s concerned hubby, Dean “Twitter Play-by-Play” McDermott.

“The hits just keep coming!!” he wrote yesterday. “T is in the hospital now with severe stomach pains. We’re trying to get her comfortable.

“Will keep you updated the best I can. Phone battery is dying.”

A man of his word, McDermott kept his followers abreast of Tori’s state later last night.

“Just out of the hospital. After a battery of tests, no conclusive answers. She still feels terrible. Hope it passes soon. She’s in a lot of pain.”

There have been no further updates from McDermott on his wife’s condition, but we’re sure another is on the way. Just as soon as he finishes doling out cross-state trick-or-treating advice.

Dean also tweeted that he was in the hospital 10 days ago for a bad stomach virus (which kind of sounded like food poisoning to me) and that both of his children with Tori, Stella, 15 months, and Liam, 2 and a half, had the flu and then colds last week. It sounds like something is going around at their house and I hope that Tori recovers soon. There are all sorts of things that can cause bad abdominal pain and hopefully it isn’t anything serious.

I’d be throwing the snow cone at the Paps who won’t let my family have a day in peace at the flea market! Sounds like she’s passing a kidney stone~talk about pain.

  2. manda says:

    could be gall bladder!

  3. princess pea says:

The worst abdominal pain I have ever experienced was appendicitis… but it’s fairly simple to diagnose, so I guess that’s not it. Sorry Tori, I got nothing.

Could be gall stones, could be a virus. Viruses are hard to pin down, gall stones not so much. I hope she feels better soon, because abdominal pain SUCKS.

When ever she get’s well I hope she starts keeping some food in her body because she looks gross. Like sticks held together with whip cord covered with skin..

Abdominal pain from malnourishment perhaps? Does she even get her period anymore?

  7. bros says:

its called abdominal pain from abuse of laxatives. im surprised it took this long for her serious anorexia to catch up with her. she looks like an ice worm.

  8. Hieronymus Grex says:

    Did she actually ingest food?

I have to laugh when people assume you don’t get periods when you are extremely thin. I had eating problems for years and was about Tori’s weight. I never lost a period or was as much as late. In fact, they were always extremely heavy.

Or ovarian cyst 🙁 Hope she will be ok.

@MizzExpert – Methinks Tori and Dean called the paps and told them where they were. Tori can thank the paparazzi for her career resurgence (sp?) because prior to her and Dean ending their marriages for each other, she didn’t appear on these websites nearly as much as she does now. She should buy them a snow cone instead of throw it at them.

Paparazzi can be intrusive to celebrities who do not seek the limelight but Tori and Dean do not fall into that category. Just my two cents…

it’s called hunger pangs. Quit ignoring them.

I’m sorry, but what is with that outfit? A towel dress that is too long, librarian glasses and slipper boots? It’s not like she didn’t know she was going to be photographed.

Too much hay and not enough oats.

  15. j. ferber says:

She is obviously in the throes of some eating disorder, most likely anorexia from the looks of her.
