Over the weekend, Radar broke the news that Oksana Grigorieva had given birth to Mel Gibson’s love child last Friday, one week ago. A day after that report surfaced, Mel’s rep confirmed the news, and announced that Oksana and Mel had named the baby girl Lucia, and that mother and child were doing well. While I don’t doubt any of that – that Oksana gave birth, the name, that everybody’s healthy, I do think there’s something fishy in the water. But after the Enquirer has spread some really nasty stuff around about Mel and Oksana, they’re now singing a different tune. According to the Enquirer, Mel is “thrilled” with the baby, and he thinks this is the “beginning of a new life for him”. Oh, really?
After a tough year struggling with the fallout from the collapse of his marriage, Mel Gibson has something to smile about. Proud dad Mel is telling friends that his new daughter with Oksana Grigorieva has given him a second chance at happiness.
Oksana gave birth three weeks early to a healthy baby girl on October 30 at a LA hospital.
Now pals say Mel is “thrilled to death with his second family. He’s behaving like a first-time dad – deliriously happy and telling anyone who will listen about the joyful news.”
Although the delivery went smoothly, there were concerns early on about Oksana’s pregnancy.
“Oksana remained quite thin and then the birth turned out to be about three weeks premature,” said the friend. “Mel asked his friends and family to pray that everything would go well for Oksana and the baby. Thankfully, it all went perfectly in the end, and Mel’s ecstatic.”

First, I still have questions about when Oksana was originally supposed to give birth. Radar reported that she was “a few weeks” early, and this report from the Enquirer claims Oksana was three weeks early. While I’m not going to lose any sleep over it, the weird timeline still bugs me. My second “something’s fishy” question is about Mel’s activities post-delivery. Allegedly, Oksana gave birth on Friday (in Los Angeles) and she and the baby were home (in Los Angeles) by Sunday. But on Monday, Mel was back at work in upstate New York, where these smoking pictures are from. I thought you were supposed to light a cigar with a baby’s birth, not a cigarette, but anyway… why did Mel leave Oksana and the baby in the lurch? Certainly Mel could have gotten a few days off of work to spend time with the baby at home. Which means that Mel might want to be away from Oksana, right? Which throws into question how “thrilled” he is about this whole thing, in my mind.

That new life may not be very long if he doesn’t put down the cigarettes and mellow out on the booze.
He doesn’t have much of a choice in not trying out a new life, since he basically effed himself out of the old one.

I don’t think it’s all that fishy that he’d be back at work. The film has has to stick to a shooting schedule or they lose money.
Entertainment Tonight showed pics of the baby (very cute) and she doesn’t look at all premature, though. I’m guessing what everyone originally thought was true – Robyn was willing to put up with his flings, but filed for divorce because Oksana was already pregnant.

Mel, you can’t start a new life with old ways. This baby may be touching your heart but Oksana is going to tear your heart apart and always use this baby over your head to manipulate you and to get something out of you. I truly believe that deeply you desire a relationship that the woman would be a helpmate to you to help you overcome your issues, I truly believe deeply you desire a true love, I truly believe you desire to change and walk free from your issues, but Oksana is not that helpmate and not that true love. The kids you had with Robyn were a product of what you and Robyn did together built together, a marriage, a family, these are your kids. Lucia is not a product of a marriage or of a family. She is a product of entrapment, control, dominating, manipulating for money purposes to use against you and dominate you; you did not consent to this child, you did not plan or desire this child; she is not your child she is not your family, she is Oksana’s child and I bet that she is going to see to it that you have no part of this child’s life unless you forked up some money. That is not a family. A baby is not a “second chance in life” and is not going to cause you to stop drinking, smoking, or being vulgar or free your heart from hate. Before you can find a good woman you will have to desire to become a good man, and no I do not believe you are a good man right now. There is no honesty or integrity in you, you lie and live constantly in a make believe world denying any wrong doing saying all the “right words” but there is no sincerity in your heart, you are afraid to confront your past and be “real” with people. You have not repented, repentance is not SAYING “I’m sorry” or “Father, forgive me for I have sinned – say two hail Mary’s and two our Fathers”. Your heart never changed and that is what God looks at. You have never been forgiven, God has not forgiven you because you have not forgiven yourself, you never repented in your heart. You need someone to help you turn your life around, to be a strength to you and to help build you into a better man, but your life will never turn around until your heart turns around. I hope this message gets into your hands. I hope you cut Oksana completely off and the baby and all she is entitled to is child support; you have to stand up and take that ring out of your nose that she is twisting around you and kick her out of your life. If there is someone out there reading this that knows Mel personally please print this out and get it to him.

The “beginning of a new life?” What about the “old life,” i.e. seven children? If this story is true, what a slap in the face to them, on top of everything else they’ve been through! Why doesn’t this guy have any concern for their feelings?
Regarding the “early delivery,” am I the only one that thought it was strange that Oksana was living in New York with Mel (we have photos to prove it) but “just happened” to be back home in LA when the baby came early? And isn’t it interesting that an she talks about marriage in a UK Glamour article, but a few weeks ago claimed she and Mel had no plans to marry and hadn’t even discussed it?
This saga keeps getting more and more interesting!

Yeah, I do have a little too much time on my hands right now. If my comments are “creeping you out” then I must be saying something meaningful and maybe bringing some purity your way; No, I’m not Mel’s “ex” or his stalker and you don’t understand what I meant that the baby “is not his child”. So, until I get me a job (which I hope is very soon) and get back to work then all I have to do right now is make comments on Mel Gibson’s life desiring to reach out to him (not with the intention to be his “squeeze”) because I truly believe he wants to better himself and I want to see him better himself, don’t you?, and if my comment happens to get to him and if my comment happens to make a difference in his life then my comments have done more than all the other comments. Considering the enormous amount of negativity hurled at his new born daughter, Lucia, this latest NE article makes a lot of sense. As any father, Mel Gibson is concerned about his child’s welfare and he wants to emphasize to the general public that he does care about this child. Since he has already made his feeling clear concerning, his wife, Robyn and their children as well as how he feels about Oksana; there’s no point in reading anything else into this article. Mel Gibson has a movie to finish shooting and they’re probably on a very tight budget. It certainly makes more sense to complete this project than to take time off at this point. Who knows, they’re probably scheduled to wrap up shooting sometime before Thanksgiving.

i think the euforia of a birth has bonded him right now to the baby and the girlfriend…time will tell when the divorce is final what will happen…if it is his child i think he will be happy and be a part of her life no matter what happens to the girlfriend…as for a new life, he could have started it a little bit better instead of the way he did……

I’ve said it before on other posts, but it bears repeating: IMO at this point the Mel/Oksana relationship is all about the baby. If she hadn’t gotten pregnant and Robyn hadn’t filed for divorce, who knows if they’d still be together. Although he couldn’t handle monogamy, Mel seemed to like the security of having someone to come home to, and right now Oksana and the baby fit that bill. I have no doubt he loves the baby and will be a hands on father, but as Linda K says his current euphoric state is clouding his judgment.
I find it interesting that photos of the baby were shown on Entertainment Tonight. We never saw photos of his other kids when they were born, and some didn’t even have a “formal” birth announcement to the public. I’d always admired how Mel and Robyn kept their kids out of the spotlight. I hope Lucia isn’t the next Suri Cruise, constantly thrust in front of the camera. I hope when Mel comes down from his “high” he’ll put his foot down with Oksana and return to keeping his private life private.

Nothing fishy about it. Even Liam Neeson had to return to work not so long after the tragic death of his wife. They have to keep on schedule, especially with a low budget- and keep in mind rich people can fly under the radar in the comfort of luxurious jets so who knows where they are at any given time.
Someone here noticed celebrities often deliver as much as a month earlier than the reported time. It’s seems like they give the wrong date on purpose, maybe to avoid the press in their faces.

I smoked for a long time. I realize it affects my health therefore I must stop smoking yet it’s been very hard. None of the stopping steps did the trick. Then I discovered the e cigs. It has pretty much saved my life. No longer sucking in toxic chemicals feels amazing!
