We haven’t seen much of former Beverly Hills 90210 star Shannen Doherty, 38, since she was on Charmed from 1998-2001. She did a four episode guest stint on the new 90210 in 2008 and there were rumors that she was canned due to bad behavior. (She did come back though in three episodes in 2009, so maybe those reports were false or overblown.) She had a reality show on Oxygen in 2006 called Breaking up With Shannen Doherty that involved her going around telling people their significant others no longer wanted to be with them. That lasted just one season. There’s more, but the jist is that Doherty has had just piecemeal work the past few years. If the National Enquirer is to be believed, she’s now trying to remedy that with the last ditch effort of many fallen stars – a reality show. The show would follow Doherty’s career and her attempts to move in with her new boyfriend. She now allegedly has a couple of networks interested:
Shannen Doherty… recently had a three-hour meeting with her reps, who told the notorious diva that she needed an image makeover so she can “get back to work,” a Hollywood insider revealed to The Enquirer.
“The bottom line is Shannen’s got one of the worst reputations in Hollywood for being difficult to work with. She’s got to make herself likeable again.”
The new project will focus on Shannen’s life as a one-time popular actress who must now compete for acting gigs, as well as her romance with her current boyfriend, 35-year-old photographer Kurt Iswarienko. Cameras will be rolling as Kurt and Shennen, 38, move in together…
So far, at least two major cable stations have shown interest in the series, according to the insider – and the show could be on the air as early as next summer.

Why do we need yet another reality show featuring the life of someone we’ve forgotten? People must watch those shows or they wouldn’t keep getting made, but I can’t see this being a real success for Doherty. If anything the show would just magnify the personality traits she’s trying to overcome by making a reality show in the first place. Plus it’s pretty much dooming her relationship with her soon-to-be live in boyfriend.
I don’t think most verite-type reality shows are worth the trade off for the participants. It’s like signing a pact with the devil. You get what you bargained for but the price is always way higher than you expected. Maybe I’m too negative about the possibilities, though. A reality show has really boosted fellow 90210 alum Tori Spelling’s profile and so far her relationship with the husband she stole is fine.
God her eyes just irritate the crap out of me. I know she always keeps her head tilted so you can’t tell she’s secretly a Picasso painting, but UGH. she’s always come across as a diva with a bad attitude, and she always will.

I’ve always loved Shannon Doherty, ever since the little house on the prairie days!! lol. I hope she can make some kind of comeback.
I wouldn’t be surprised if VH1’s one of the networks supposedly interested. They have a dozen other crap reality shows about pseudo celebs, it’d probably just replace some other stinker like For the Love of RJay or JRay or whatever his name is.
Has she ever worked on anything where she wasn’t a pain to her coworkers or bosses?

Seriously, for someone who has been very difficult to work with and doesn’t have THAT much talent, she’s had a lot of chances in Hollywood, and none of them have lasted long because of her attitude. Why another one?
Oh well. Is this a desperate and very sad last resort from a volatile and mentally ill woman? Maybe she can be on a reality show and it may even get ratings but it won’t help her serious acting career if she ever becomes interested in reviving it. I don’t know what type of therapy she’s doing or has done, if she’s really healed and can be reasonably well behaved to work with others. Seems someone’s willing to insure her since two cable networks are showing interest. I guess as a reality show outrageous behavior is a draw though how much sustainable interest is there to those that enjoy watching usually staged situations of ill people’s shattered lives on display?

Wow, she’s looking really rough. I never thought she was attractive but youth can be forgiving. She is not aging well at all, even with help from plastic surgery. It’s difficult to believe she is only 38. I guess that’s what substance abuse and living hard will do to you.

She looks like my aunt on bingo night. Auntie loves the glitter tees & stirrip pants. And when Auntie starts focussing on her cards, she gets her eyes all crooked & a quadruple chin. I think that the multiple ryes also contribute. Now my auntie & her bingo gal pals would make one tuff reality show!
