We’re now less than 10 days from Wicked: For Good’s premiere. The international premieres have already begun, and they’ve brought us some good fashion moments. Everyone looked fantastic at the UK premiere on Tuesday. I don’t even hate Jonathan Bailey’s unfitted suit! I can’t wait to see what they’ll wear to the US premiere, which will be in New York on November 17.
While in the UK, Jeff Goldblum did an interview with This Morning where he talked about several things including his character (The Wizard), watching Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande in action, and getting to sing with them in the Act II song “Wonderful.” He also mentioned that filming both movies had a big effect on his real life. Without getting too spoilery, one of the central plots of the book, play, and movie involve the ways that animals are mistreated. His character is involved, which caused Jeff to do some heavy reflection and ultimately decide to give up eating meat and poultry.
Jeff Goldblum is opening up about how his role in Wicked has changed him — for good.
Goldblum, 73, who plays the Wizard of Oz in the film adaptations of Stephen Schwartz’s Broadway musical, revealed in an interview with U.K. show This Morning that he decided to go stop eating meat after taking on the role.
“It’s changed me,” Goldblum said. “After doing this movie we talked about the animal cruelty. I stopped eating meat and poultry. So this Christmas and Thanksgiving, I may be having another something else.”
“I’m happy. We need the world to work for everybody on earth and every creature too,” Goldblum added.
So…working with animals changed Jeff…for good? (GONG.) Seriously, though, good for him. He’s not alone in having this experience, either. James Cromwell famously became a vegan after filming Babe. I wonder if he had conversations with his co-stars about his newfound feelings while he was working through them. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have both been vegans for years while Michelle Yeoh is a vegetarian. It would not surprise me if they helped influence his decision simply by being sounding boards and real-life examples of what a meatless diet looks like.
While this year’s press tour has been a lot tamer than last year’s, Jeff and Jonathan did a really fun interview for ET last week after the announcement that Jonathan had been named People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2025. Jeff joked that he was trying to figure out a theme song for Jonathan and even sang a few snippets of different songs like “You Sexy Thing” and “I’m Too Sexy,” before his co-star proudly pointed out that he’s People’s first openly gay SMA. It’s a charming interview. They clearly have great chemistry and respect for one another.
Here’s Jeff’s full interview. His comments about giving up meat and poultry start at 4:04:

How refreshing to read about a famous actor who was moved to make a positive life change as the result of filming a movie. I’ve been vegan for decades. Had no idea Michelle, Cynthia, and Ariana are all veg or vegan too.
A great choice for a great man. Go Jeff!
