Blogger alleges that Jake Gyllenhaal shoved a girl

82ND ACADEMY AWARDS, RED CARPET ARRIVALS

Over the weekend, there was a rumor floating around that Jake Gyllenhaal beat up a girl. The whole story originated at Drunken Stepfather (NSFW site), where one of their bloggers claimed that he (the blogger is a dude) went up to Jake and asked, “Aren’t you the guy who kissed Heath Ledger?” To which Jake allegedly went crazy, and ordered security to take away the blogger dude. The blogger went on to allege that Jake “shoved” one of the girls the blogger was with. Of course, Drunken Stepfather then changed both the blogger’s words (to “Hey isn’t that the guy who killed Heath Ledger?”) and the name of the original post (from “Jake Gyllenhaal is a F-ggot of the day” to “Jake Gyllenhaal Pushes Girls Around of the Day”). E! News sums up the situation:

Did Jake Gyllenhaal roughhouse with a woman this weekend?

No, we don’t mean in the fun way, babes. There’s a report going around that the Prince of Persia star got into a little altercation up in Montreal over the weekend.

And we’re here to sort things out for you…

The alleged incident supposedly went down Saturday night at restaurant Garde-Manger.
Apparently Gyllenhaal was dancing on the bench of his table with a group of pals, ticking off a blogger from DrunkenStepfather a few feet away who found the show to be quite egocentric.

Said blogger then went up to Jake’s table, turned to a girl there and goes (according the blogger himself): “Hey isn’t that the guy who kissed Heath Ledger?”

Gyllenhaal apparently got in the guys face, told him to f–ck off and got the dude escorted out of the club. Only problem is in this he-said, he-said tale is that the blogger also claims his female guest was pushed about 10 times by Gyllenhaal before J.G.’s crew pulled him away.

Gyllenhaal’s rep claims blogger’s story is “libelous” and informs us his lawyers are taking “immediate action.”

And for more info on what really went down, here’s what we’ve learned:

Jake was definitely at the restaurant Saturday night (he’s a regular there) as was the blogger. Main discrepancy here? We’re told by sources who were present that the blogger in question said, “Hey isn’t that the guy who killed Heath Ledger?” prompting Jake to yell to the bouncers “get these guys out of my face.”

The instigator and his crew were then thrown out.

We originally read this blog post yesterday, where the site definitely had “killed” not “kissed” up until it was later changed. The post actually backs up this supposed kill claim by ranting in the item that if Jake was Ledger’s friend, he probably would have been there for him in his low point.

Seriously can’t say we blame Gyllenhaal’s heated reaction. “Isn’t that the guy who killed Heath Ledger?” Not a funny joke, dude. We wish punches were thrown.

As for this girl who was supposedly caught in the crossfire? Onlookers tell us “there were a bunch of girls” there but “no one was shoved or hurt.”

Jake is currently in Montreal filming Source Code, which won’t be affected by this nonincident. We hear filming has been going “great” up there before this.

[From E! News]

Currently, Drunken Stepfather still has the story up, and they added a new one basically claiming to stand by the story, and publishing the letter sent by Jake’s lawyer, which in a nut shell claims: “the story is entirely false. Specific false and defamatory statements in your story include, without limitation, the claims that he was “making out” with a girl in the restaurant, that he threatened you, and, most damaging of all, that he pushed the girl who was with you into a table at least ten times before his crew held him back and that he “pretty much hit a girl.” As you know, none of this is true, and there was no physical contact between Mr. Gyllenhaal and the girl in question – nothing that could under any interpretation be described as hitting her or shoving her. There is absolutely no excuse for this kind of irresponsible journalism.” DS responds:

“I know what happened. I know what I saw. I don’t really care whether his profession Lawyers, managers, Publicists and other keepers say it didn’t….

I wasn’t the drunk one dancing on bars like a fool. I saw what I saw. I witnessed what I witnessed and telling my story is not defamation of character, it is free press, I am allowed to say what I saw as a first hand account of the events that took place if I was in fact there…I love that they are telling me what I saw, or at least trying to tell me what I saw because rich and powerful people can create my reality if it involves their client…If he doesn’t want to be called someone who shoves girls…he shouldn’t shove girls….especially since he only lost his mind after I made a comment to a person he was with, not even directly to him…

What I can tell you is that when he got in my face I thought it was a joke…but when he hurt and scared the girl I was with for telling him to calm down and even made her cry…it was no longer that funny…

I hate how celebrities think they are above the law, that they can do what they “erase” events I witnessed, that they try to destroy the little credibility I have while using scare tactics cuz I don’t come from a rich Hollywood family…”

[From Drunken Stepfather]

Ugh. I don’t really know who to believe, especially since DS’s story changed to reflect the kissing/killing problem. I believe Jake would get angry if someone said something to him about “killing Heath Ledger”. I believe that Jake would try to get that guy thrown out. I believe that Jake would probably try to get the guy’s friends thrown out too. BUT… shoving a girl? Eh. I just doubt it. Of course, I also think DS is generally horribly offensive, so maybe I’m just one of those sensitive types!

    Bitch Fight!!!

  2. d says:

That DS guy is pretty vile, so just based on his website behaviour, I would not be surprised that he’d say something nasty to Jake and then spin the story in whatever way he could to make himself look good. He’s just awful; can’t believe I used to check out that site.

  3. may says:

i believe it, jakey poo is just a huge FAKE – come out already, yeash

  4. Rose says:

Drunken Stepfather is a scumbag, pure and simple. Oh now he’s so concerned for women? Don’t makes me laugh.

  5. Kim says:

Yeah, the accusation against Jake Gyllenhaal reeks of libel because I just can’t see a DS blogger standing up for a woman, like, ever.

  6. Tina says:

“I don’t really know who to believe”

    WHAT?!

Who in the right mind would believe some homophobic blogger who purposely hurts other people’s feelings, insults their dead friends for a few more hits and changes his “story” every few hours?!?

  7. Kaboom says:

Not the first blogging asshat who tries to get a rise out of a celeb to create publicity and a story, won’t be the last. I just say Perez Best-Western.

  8. Dawn says:

I not buying this story at all. That website Drunken-Stepfather is mean and of sh*t most of the time.

    Team Jake!

  9. ThunderC*nt says:

His eyes are imbalanced. He reminds me of those gay guys who hate women because they are envious and wish they were a woman. You know the type. There’s always a few at the local gay club. Show up looking gorgeous and they’ll make a beeline towards you. Watch it! It can easily escalate into hysteria.

  10. Kitten says:

If that realy happened it would be all over the news ! Such BS !

  11. may says:

ThunderC*nt – you are spot on!
that’s exactly how some are…and I believe that is Jake’s issue as well

  12. may says:

Jake – the truth will set you free baby!

  13. Melanie says:

    Video or it didn’t happen.

  14. buckley says:

I never thought Jake was gay….doesn’t seem to be the type to hide it.
But that’s just my perception. I happen to really like the guy and he’s a great actor in my opinion.

  15. waldemar says:

Imbalanced eyes = gay who hates women???

Wow! You learn something new everyday.

  16. Rachum says:

oh as if this is true! Jake is blatantly too nice for any of this nonsense. Maybe he tried to get them thrown out and said blogger took offence (sp?) due to an over inflated sense of ego hence this shit.
    Poor Jake. I’ll comfort you.

  17. Dawn says:

Gays that hate women? Okay maybe, but I know more straight guys that hate women. You know them the women beaters and such.

I get more love and friendships from my gay guys

  18. JC126 says:

    I don’t like DS.
Frankly, when just about ANY celebrity shoves a paparazzo, the pap most likely deserved it.

  19. Lori says:

He did such a good job in BB Mountain. I can’t even believe that one performance will make the whole world think you are gay.

I don’t believe he is gay. I don’t believe anything that this blogger says.

I feel like climbing under a sheet and making a you tube video, shouting “LEAVE JAKEY ALONE!”

  20. Sumodo1 says:

I don’t like Jake. Period. He has wonky eyes. He is perhaps to blame in the Reese Witherspoon breakup. Unless he rescues baby seals? He’s a bore.

  21. Novaraen says:

I’m sure that DS was pretty much a d*ckhead to Jake and his group because that’s his MO….BUT…he seems more concerned not with being personally attacked but with his female friend who was pushed. I dunno…it strikes me as having a grain of truth to it.

  22. danielle says:

The fact that the blogger changed his story makes me doubt him. Plus it’s not explained why Jake G. allegedly shoved this girl, and not the blogger if he was going to shove anyone. Also, how odd was it that this blogger got so mad because a celeb was dancing on a bench with friends?

  23. ,,,, says:

First, I have a hard time trusting someone who uses the word “cuz” instead of “because.”

Second, if someone told me to “calm down” after their friend accused me of a killing a very good friend of mine (who’s death was unexpected and too soon), I would probably yell at them too. I can see him getting upset, getting them kicked out, and yelling. But I just can’t see him shoving her.

When he was asked about Heath after the Academy Awards, he was still very emotional. He is also Matilda’s god father. I can imagine being accused of killing Heath would incite some amount of anger, and understandably so. But again, I just don’t think he pushed a girl.

  24. lolo says:

Jake Gyllenhaal is a good guy. I think he is the perfect son in law.

  25. padiddle says:

DS is a misogynistic pig, there is no way this is true. The only way I could POSSIBLY see it being true is if the guy got in Jake’s face, a scuffle ensued, and the girl was accidentally pushed by JG when trying to hit someone else. I mean, I don’t know him, but he’s never displayed any negative attitudes toward women, where as DS…well I won’t even go there…

  26. Iggles says:

I’m no Gyllenhaal fan, but I heard all about this on Towleroad.

    TEAM JAKE!!!

The blogger on DS sounds like a homophobic LOSER. I don’t trust a world outside of his mouth, so no I don’t think Jake hit a girl.

  27. Sudini says:

Team Jake! Sorry, but Drunken Stepfather is a total crap site run by total misogynists.

The fact that they already changed their story once doesn’t bode well for their (already very questionable) credibility.

  28. Novaraen says:

When DS commented to one of the girls in Jakes entourage about “Hey isn’t that the guy who killed Heath Ledger”…that is what set Jake off (which is understandable)…then the female friend of DS stepped in to tell Jake to calm down…etc…and that is when she was pushed repeatedly. DS actually says there is video proof and will be posting it soon. I for one would love to see it.

  29. Melanie says:

I think Jake would make an excellent astronaut.

  30. nikki says:

when the video(pix) will be out, the truth will verify
but i don’t care:when “Thor” guy and his brother hit a guy in a party, no one don’t care!

  31. Trustiva says:

“Oh now he’s so concerned for women? Don’t makes me laugh.”

Exactly my thoughts. Drunken Stepfather is the most misogynistic gossip/ entertainment blog out there that I can think of. Girls are only boobs and f*ckable (age doesn’t matter) or ugly and sluts for them. Every female artist or celebrity gets either categorized in one or the other category. They use the nonincident of a shoving as an excuse of reporting about something they felt stupid about. The writer doesn’t want to acknowledge that HE provoked the shoving and tries to spin a different story out of it so that Jake is to blame. Ugly.

  32. GatsbyGal says:

If the girl was with that douche who said it, and was egging him on or laughing at what was said, I don’t blame Jake for shoving her at all. That’s just cruel, Heath is dead.

  33. nona says:

Just like Sandy Bullock’s story, this is sad and funny at the same time.

  34. hatsumomo says:

OK, Im going to be totally honest and go out on a limb here….but I like Drunken stepfather. Yeah I know, its a god awful website and it dehumanizes women and children and such but I still go to check some stuff out and generally they cover things not all gossip sites are willing to touch with a ten foot pole.

  35. Maritza says:

I think Jake is a sweet guy, I doubt he shoved anyone!

  36. Lilias says:

I’m inclined to believe that whatever women were with these douchebags were probably very very shovable. You know the rough-looking types who hang around total a-holes and are a-holes themselves.

If someone said something like that to me about a friend who died I’d get steaming mad too. And I’d try to have them kicked out so they would get the hell away from me.

If the girl did what he says she did, telling him to calm down, I suspect she probably did it in some classless, sarcastic way-not really meaning it but basically baiting him.

Now that is IF that happened at all. I suspect nothing of the kind happened and this douche is just trying to get some publicity out of being a giant idiot to a (seemingly) nice guy.

  37. Feebee says:

Hmm, Drunken Stepfather vs Jake G…. not really a contest is it. DS’s rebuttal to the lawyer’s letter says a lot too. Chip on his shoulder, didn’t this he’d be taken to task and defence is the best offence. What a loser.

  38. mollination says:

I tend to believe the real story falls somewhere in the middle (As usual), but it’s a bummer that DS had to go ruin his own credibility by changing the story back and forth from “kiss/kill”. If there had just been one story I might be inclined to believe almost everything he said.

1.)He’s never pulled this kind of stunt before, unlike the blogger who shall not be named but pretends he has the same last name as a hotel heiress.

2.) I COMPLETELY agree with ThunderC*nt about Jake. I know a guy like who she describes, and now that she says it, that’s completely the vibe I get from Jake.

3.) I don’t *think* Jake would flat out be a girl-hitter type (mostly b/C of what it would do to his rep, not b/c he’s such a great guy…who knows what he’s really like?) but when you’re drunk and there’s already a ruckus, it’s pretty easy to make the poor decision to do so. Especially if that girl was acting like one of those idiotic girls who think *they* are the perfect ones to break up a fight between two raging dudes.

4.) I think this kind of above-the-law behavior that pisses off DS so much is so much more prevalent than we even know amongst celebs. If you’ve ever so much as gotten backstage at a B-list show, or hung out with a goddamn radio DJ (for instance) you know it. The shit you see happen at *those* levels is outrageous, vile, egocentric delusion. So I imagine by the time we’re talking about Hollywood, our heads can’t even fathom the shit that gets pulled.

  39. Mistral says:

I call bullshit on the DS blog. I think they’re just desperate for attention and this is a sensational story that will get them a lot of hits. Are they based out of Montreal, or did the blogger just happen to be there on vacation? Pretty embarrassing if that guy is a fellow Canadian.

  40. Melanie says:

Yes, Drunken Stepfather is a Canadian. It makes you wonder, doesn’t it….

  41. Macheath says:

Why do so many people think Jake is gay and get annoyed about him supposedly being in the closet? I’m genuinely curious, did I miss something? I don’t know anything about JG so I can’t claim any knowledge about his sexuality but isn’t saying “Come out of the closet already!” to a (perhaps) straight person repeatedly just as annoying as saying “Why can’t you act normal?” to a gay person. *Kanye shrug*

Anyway regarding this incident. I call BS on DS.

  42. Melanie says:

Drunken Stepfather is not only Canadian, but he is married to a self proclaimed fat woman. What is he doing out in clubs provoking celebrities? Sounds to me like he got what he was looking for, a fight and notoriety.

  43. here we go says:

Never been to the DS website & don’t intend to start now. Sounds pretty f’ed up to me, so sign me up for Team Jake.

As for Jake’s orientation, read Ted Casablanca’s Blind Vices regarding ‘Toothy Tile’. Many people think Jake is the closeted Toothy because he hasn’t been eliminated as a possibility. (BTW, you’ll need a scorecard to keep up with all the actors who have been eliminated.)

  44. Snarf says:

Since when is Drunken Stepfather worried about the wellfare of women in general? I call bullSh*t.

  45. Novaraen says:

I went to DS to read the story firsthand and it does NOT say kiss anywhere…it clearly says that he said “Hey is that they guy who KILLED Heath Ledger”…so I don’t know where everyone is getting the idea that he changed it. As for the story..he says that Jake had him kicked out but his lady friend that was with him was still inside and that is when Jake went off on her and pushed her at least 10 times before his entourage pulled him away.

I honestly think there is truth to this story.

Oh…I don’t know or care about Jake’s sexuality either. DS did also say that Jake was making out with some chick that night.

  46. Emily says:

Jake doesn’t strike me as the sort of guy who’d get pissed off about someone saying “is that the guy who kissed Heath”. But I don’t think there’s anyone out there who wouldn’t get pissed if someone basically accused them of killing a friend.

  47. imo says:

Its amusing to me that so many people are quick to be team Jake but any other celeb that have similar allegations lodged against them are instantly evil. Is it because Jakey-poo is so gosh darn Vanilla? give me a effin break. I think the truth falls somewhere down the middle. @ Gatsby and Lilas, glad to hear that you think its ok for a man to shove a woman under certain circumstances or depending on the company they keep. Here’s to hoping that one doesn’t shove u on ur ass one day.

  48. Iggles says:

imo – Go to Towleroad and read the vile initial postings by the DS blogger. He is a homophobic a**. His rants were so disgusting and bigoted I’m not inclined to believe a word out of the dude’s mouth. He clearly has issues and has revised his post several times.

Trust me, I am no Gyllenhaal fan, but DS hasn’t a leg to stand on.

  49. Fluffy Kitten Tail says:

Gee, I suppose everyone on here knows Jake, and can confirm he is a nice, calm dude, right.

DS site sucks, and if this is untrue, I am sure Jake will sue for defamation. Until then, no one needs to be certain Jakey is so sweet.

  50. ThunderC*nt says:

#11, then you must surely know about this one then if you are attractive. Unattractive people stop reading HERE.

Besides the woman wannabe gay guy out at the gay bars, have you ever dealt w/the closet lesbian at your job? Weird b/c to get your attention they start out by coming at you in a negative way so you’ll at least notice them. They could be in a totally remote dept. from you at work but they find an excuse to come and tell you off. Anyone? Imagine how confusing it is when the closet case is pregnant but also has MS. They expose their true feelings if you get them lit at the office x-mas party. Anyone else have this happen or just realizing it now? Think back.

  51. jules says:

I agree with the posters that said there is probably sooo much celeb diva-like egocentric behavior that would shock us. As for if it was true, it’d be in the news- I don’t think so, not without photographic evidence or an independent witness corroborating his story. If DS does have a viedo- I gurantee THAT will be all over the news.

Regardless of what really happened after the comment, DS doesn’t deny the horrible comment that totally deserved a punch!

  52. Dannni says:

No, I don’t think DS is such a stand-up guy, but he isn’t an attention whore with a busted moral compass like Perez either. C’mon.
I believe this….I’ve seen similar behaviour on sets when some of these celebs are treated like everyone else. They believe they are very, very special.

  53. I Choose Me says:

My thoughts, the DS blogger who possibly may have been drunk himself that night is exaggerating events – just like everyone in these sort of situations tend to do. That said, I think Jake may have been angry enough to push the girl (being accused of killing a good friend would certainly set me off) not intending to hurt her but just to get her out of his face. Forget about him being a celeb – nobody is all good or all bad all the time. So as nice as Jake is perceived to be, it is possible.

@ThunderC*nt – what the ferque (thanks Kaiser) are you on about!!!

  54. Anti-icon says:

I read an item on JJ a year or so ago about Jake kicking a photographer. I thought at the time the photog probably provoked him. And that’s what this is too—a blatant provocation by a stupid stunt baby “reporter” who needs to go to journalism school. Stunt blogging, the new celebrity gossip craze….NOT!

  55. Moofreakinmoo says:

I never thought DS was actually real, I thought it was a pisstake?! EW the guy really is that gross

  56. JB says:

There was a story on DS a little while back where he basically said he wished he could see Chris Brown beat the sh-t out of Rihanna, so… yeah. The site is poorly written, horrendously unfunny, and just plain amoral. Given the undercurrent of gossip about Jake Gyllenhaal, I wouldn’t be shocked if he overreacted to someone questioning his sexuality, but the guy from DS is obviously lying. I wouldn’t trust anything he says.

  57. Sara says:

If I was a guy, drunk, a good friend had died, and was asked if I was the one who killed him, I would go off too!
Big deal, he shoved a girl–if that’s even true, which I can’t help but doubt. I’m sure she’ll get over it. If she was standing there and thinking that the reporter, or whatever the fuck he thinks he is, was in line and not saying anything offensive, she deserved it.
And, another thing, because his eyes are offset he’s gay and hates women? Wow, you guys sound so smart! Your parents must be so proud of you!<3
If he really does hate women, you might want to tell Reese Witherspoon that, see what she has to say. Broken up or not, they didn’t seem too unhappy to me.
