Jill Zarin fired from Housewives docuseries for racist rant about Bad Bunny’s show

Jill Zarin was a castmember on Real Housewives of New York from 2008 to 2011. She’s openly MAGA, and has complained bitterly about how “isolating” it is to back Donald Trump. Like many former Real Housewives, she supports herself in the cottage industry of Bravo specials, interviews, convention appearances and notoriety. That’s about to go away for her after a recent Instagram video she posted complaining about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show. Jill recorded herself on the couch where she opened by saying this was “the worst halftime show ever… I just don’t think it was appropriate to have it in Spanish.” She also complained that Bad Bunny was “grabbing himself,” that she couldn’t understand the Spanish and that “to me it looked like it was a political statement because there were literally no white people in the entire thing.” What a racist bitch my God. Well after that Jill was sacked from an E! docuseries called The Golden Life. Good. Here’s more, from NBC:

Original “Real Housewives of New York” cast member Jill Zarin has been fired from a “RHONY” revival show after she posted a social media video that criticized Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show for being in Spanish and for what she said was a lack of white people.

Zarin was set to star on “The Golden Life,” an E! docuseries that was announced Feb. 3 and will feature other former “RHONY” cast members, including Sonja Morgan, Luanne de Lesseps, Ramona Singer and Kelly Bensimon.

“In light of recent public comments made by Jill Zarin, Blink49 Studios has decided not to move forward with her involvement in The Golden Life,” Blink49, the production company behind the new show, said in a statement Tuesday. “We remain committed to delivering the series in line with our company standards and values.”

Representatives for Zarin did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Zarin published the video to Instagram on Sunday, shortly after the Puerto Rican artist’s performance. She called it “the worst halftime show ever” and expressed frustration at its being mostly in Spanish.

“I don’t speak Spanish. I would’ve liked to have known the words that he was saying,” Zarin said. “To me, it looked like a political statement because there were literally no white people in the entire thing.”

Lady Gaga, who is white, was featured prominently in the halftime show, singing a version of her song “Die With a Smile.”

Zarin criticized the NFL for selecting Bad Bunny as its halftime performer, saying it “sold out.” She added that she believes the concert “was an ICE thing,” an apparent reference to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the turmoil surrounding the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown in Minnesota and throughout the country.

[From NBC News]

I love how NBC News pointed out that Lady Gaga is white and that she performed! Zarin can now try to eke out a living from the meager offerings among right wing outlets. Refer to Zachary Levi and Gina Carano’s careers to see how that works out. It’s so gratifying to see these racist has-beens stroke out over a phenomenal halftime show in Spanish. Bad Bunny, the most streamed male artist, triggers them so much. This was a business decision for the NFL and it paid off massively for them – and for the viewers. This was an entertaining, creative, uplifting and joyful performance. It featured a real engagement and wedding! The people who can’t enjoy that are truly blinded by hate.

Zarin also claims that she can’t recognize Lady Gaga because Gaga allegedly had a face lift. I doubt that’s true and that’s so ripe coming from her. Look at this woman. Only her lips move.

Thanks to Page Six for this video. It repeats itself after the first minute.

Evena her late husband’s old business, Zarin Fabrics spoke out against her. They wanted people to know that she hasn’t been associated with them in years (The Zarins sold the company years ago) and that they don’t agree with any of her politics.

  2. Ana Maria says:

even if you did not understand the words, I don’t understand how someone can not appreciate production values, the joy of the show! Long live Benito!!

    • Snuffles says:

I know, right? I thoroughly enjoy immersing myself in other cultures from time to time.

She’s acting like she’ll break out into hives if she goes more than 15 minutes without seeing a white person. That’s a really sad mindset.

    • Mac says:

Does she live under a rock? Bad Bunny is a global superstar. He’s not some rando the NFL (famous for it’s liberal agenda /s) plucked out of nowhere.

  3. alexc says:

It’s so hard being a racist, poor thing.

  4. lamejudi says:

She runs with a fabulous circle of racists.

And now she’s got plenty of time to enjoy it.

  5. Constance says:

Wait Racist Ramona still being employed ?

    • Wendy says:

Yeah right.. she needs to be cancelled NEXT!!! Yuck

    • Lau says:

This new show will also have Luann in it, they should just cancel the thing altogether. Let’s not forget that their collective problematic behavior is what got them kicked out (after way too many seasons) from RHONY.

  6. Mel says:

Well, whatever he did, Bad Bunny performed so well that people are buying up his music on iTunes. I brought 3 songs myself because the beat is fire. So, she should have stuck to critiquing musty hot dog water’s ( Kid Rock) half time show.

  7. Christine says:

I am never getting over all of the people who missed whole ass Lady Gaga, and complained on social media about a lack of white people. What sort of terrible life do you lead where that joyful half-time show made you rabidly angry?

Jill Zarin has always been awful, I can’t believe there is any interest in her at all.

  8. OriginalMich says:

Eventually, this overtly racist period in the US will end. The repercussions for people like this b saying something so vile out loud? Those will go on forever. People used to have more sense.

  9. pamspam says:

White people are represented literally EVERYWHERE. The overwhelming majority of shows and movies, news programs, print media, features white people. Not EVERYTHING needs to look like and BE FOR you, Jill. Can you not just appreciate it for the beautiful thing it was and not cry salty white bitter tears because – shocking – there were brown people featured for like, what, 12 minutes of your pathetic life? I’m so done wiht a$$holes.

  10. Here2 says:

We were talking about the halftime show at dinner the other night and my kids were cracking me up talking about “white people crashing out” over Bad Bunny. I said, “guys, we’re ‘white people’ and I loved the show.” And they came back with, “mom, there are white people, who are people who happen to have fair-ish skin and not have any distinguishable racial or ethnic component in their background but who act normal and aren’t hate-filled racists, and then there are “WHITE PEOPLE” who make the rest of us cringe and disassociate ourselves. There’s a difference.” (I am paraphrasing, lol)

So per the youths, Jill is “WHITE PEOPLE” and I’m glad she’s facing repercussions for her stupid racist rant. Cue her meltdown about “FREE SPEECH!!!” at any moment because “WHITE PEOPLE” also never understand that the GOVERNMENT can’t retaliate for what you say, but the rest of us are free to dish out whatever you’ve got coming to you.

  11. Jbolivar says:

Yes, only non-consensual grabbing is “American.” And who watches a halftime show for the lyrics? The meanings were clear to anyone with emotions and a heart that can be reached. I don’t understand her aligning w/Maga- they have no use for her. According to their cult tenents, she’s low value: not a teenager, divorced (aka “used”), too “old”. She might aspire to Econo-wife, but if she can no longer bear children she’d be a “Martha,” at best….
