Elin Woods meets with a divorce attorney

California v Stanford
Tiger Woods’ wife Elin is indeed lawyering up to prepare for a divorce from her philandering husband. Yesterday we heard that Elin was incredibly upset, understandably so, at the Nike ad that featured Tiger getting a lecture from his deceased dad. The scandal that humiliated her and tore apart her family was being turned into a commodity exploited for a commercial. At that time it was thought that Elin would inevitably leave Tiger, but she was not known to have visited a lawyer recently. According to Radar Online she met with a new attorney before her weekend solo trip and is getting her ducks in a row to file for divorce. Tiger and Elin have a prenup, and there were stories that Elin was given a $5 million bonus last December for staying with Tiger, and that she was promised $55 million if she stuck around for two more years. Her original prenup was reportedly $20 million for 10 years of marriage. Also Elin didn’t leave Tiger to go see her sick mom, as People reported. Elin’s mom is in Sweden and isn’t receiving treatment in the US at all, according to local reports:

Tiger Woods wife met with a divorce lawyer shortly before flying to Scottsdale, Arizona, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

What’s more, Elin Nordegren did not fly to be with her mother. A published report said Elin flew to be with her mother Barbro Holmber, who was said to be getting medical treatment in the U.S.
But a government official in Sweden denied that report. Susanne Akerlind, described as Secretary ex-minister, was quoted by Expressen newspaper the other day saying about Elin’s mother: “I have been in contact with her today in the Castle of Gävle.” She went on to say that Barbro was not ill and had not been in the U.S. as far as she knew.

It all backs up what RadarOnline.com originally reported, that Elin decided to take a separate vacation from Tiger.

Now, RadarOnline.com has learned that shortly before leaving for Scottsdale, Arizona, she visited with a divorce lawyer in the home she is renting in Orlando.

A source close to the situation said the lawyer spent several hours at the home.

”She’s switched lawyers,” the source told RadarOnline.com exclusively. ”Her new lawyer is from out of town.”

In a follow-up report, Radar claims that Elin will return home from Scottsdale, AZ, where she’s been since Sunday, but that she plans to leave again within a few days. They note that Elin has been away a lot lately, and that “this will be the fourth trip Elin has taken recently without Tiger.” As for whether Elin will file for divorce, they quote a source who says “Divorce is something she’s talking about… No one is sure if she knows if she’s going to go through with it.” If Elin is really getting $55 million for two years, maybe she plans to keep traveling to see if she can make it through. No matter how much money she has at her disposal, that’s got to get old after a while.

‘Bout time. I’m all for a good pair of aviator shades, but honey make sure you get paid well enough to change ’em up a bit. $12 at a Florida 7-11 for a new pair of sunglasses would do wonders for your God given bone structure.

  2. Bee says:

I really hope Elin does file for divorce. But if she doesn’t, she can just keep playing hide and go seek with Tiger and the media for another two years until she gets her 55 million dollar payout. God knows she deserves it for putting up with this manwhore for so long.

  3. Maria says:

    FINALLY!

  4. Marjalane says:

It’s a little nauseating to anticipate the soon to be reported drama of Tiger “dating again”. Shudder. Maybe he and Jesse James can double.

  5. ogechi says:

So marriage is all about money? SHAME!!! If she wants to leave, she should leave so that this story will end. She does not hold the air Tiger breaths. ENOUGH!!!!!!!

  6. lucy2 says:

$20 million plus probably oodles of cash in child support, she’s set for life. It may not be the hundreds of millions Tiger has, but to be free of him and the horrible way he’s treated her would be well worth it.

  7. Jackson says:

Hmmm. I think I could manage to travel a lot and spend Tiger’s money for the next two years if it meant an extra $55 million – unless she can get the same in a divorce settlement. I think if she didn’t sign a confidentiality agreement then Tiger should be more than willing to pay up to keep her quiet now.

  8. London Lady says:

Elin should try and get as much money as possible for her kids; better that than it be spent in casinos and ladies for hire me thinks

  9. Linda says:

I’m sure she is going to get plenty in child support….and she should.

  10. Jag says:

She’ll look better in the divorce if she travels with the kids, instead of without. Leaving them with nannies, like she just did, isn’t going to give a good impression.

  11. Just a Poster says:

Maybe her solo trip was just to clear her head, so she could really have one hell of a cry, and not do it in front of the babies.

Perhaps she has reached her ‘enough’ point. Sometimes a person has to reach that to move forward with their live.

  12. suz says:

It bothers me that the tabs are keeping count of how many times Elin has been traveling without Tiger, as if it’s unheard of for a married woman to go anywhere without her husband. First of all, duh she’s not going to travel with him anywhere- they don’t even live in the same house. And she can travel as often as she wants, she’s got unlimited means to do so, and for all we know she has chronic wanderlust that pre-dates this scandal.

Aside from that, those old pictures of them make me sad for her. I reallllly hope she leaves him and winds up being supernaturally famous in her own right; living well is the best revenge, etc.

  13. YT says:

Leaving the children for a few days with their full-time nannies is not like leaving them with strangers. Besides, didn’t Tiger take the children on vacation with him?

I’m sure she could care less about what impression she gives. The media print stories based on few facts and a lot of fantasy anyway.

  14. meme says:

i doubt elin gives a flying fajita what ANYBODY except her family thinks about what she does or doesn’t do. she’ the garbo of golf.

  15. guilty pleasures says:

Haha, judging Elin for anything is priceless, she is not doing anything immoral or horrible, not bringing disgusting whore-borne diseases home, just trying to pick up the pieces Cheetah shattered on the floor.
Stay for two years, easy money, and deserved. She is a large part of the reason Cheetah had the squeaky clean image that brought sponsorships.
Don’t sign a confidentiality agreement until the cheque has cleared girl!

  16. Ally says:

Is there a single picture out there of him looking at his wife with affection or even appreciation? He’s always turned away from her. This guy clearly has that Madonna-whore complex, where you marry one kind of woman, but can only have sex with another kind. I guess he found his perfect match in that stareffer Uchitel woman, though, since those texts he sent her seemed like he was getting ready to bolt his marriage for her. I’d think that would be kind of hard for Elin to get over, too. (And the $10 mill that favorite mistress has supposedly now received.)

The Nike ad was crazy, but then any commercial with this guy would be at this point. I’m sure they analyzed the public reaction and realized they needed him to do some Nike-logo’d self-flagellation before they could get back to the usual golf-genius-style advertizing.

Considering that the whole Nike Golf brand is built on Tiger Woods, it’s amazing that they weren’t keeping tabs on him, and either insisted that he clean up his behavior (morality clause) or change the tone of the ads away from the squeaky-clean-zen-master image so it would be less dissonant when his real life was revealed.

As it is, the market Nike Golf sells to probably = fairly wealthy older dudes with manicured dyed wives who also wish they had some skank on the side… so Nike will probably just add some “bad boy” vibe to the new ads & keep on selling.

  17. Cinderella says:

If this she is really seeing a divorce attorney, I am totally drinking in her honor tonight.

  18. TG says:

Why would they do an add with his father. His father was no role model. He left his wife and children for Tiger’s mom, what a jerk. Two peas in a pod.

  19. Spooge says:

About time. The guy’s a douchebag and she deserves a lot better.

  20. justathought says:

Am sure, after Elin watched that weirdly awful creepy self indulgent Nike ad where Tiger’s dead dad’s voice is used for monetary gain….she’s decided enough of this twisted morality and insanity.

  21. bellaluna says:

I, for one, would be absolutely appalled if my husband used his dead father in a commercial to help restore the image he himself had destroyed.

As for Tiger being ready to date again, when did he STOP dating, exactly? Oh, right, when he got caught. Forgive me.

When Elin decides it’s in her and the children’s best interest to leave, she will. Until then, best to stop the rampant judgement and speculation and leave it alone.

  22. Red Folder says:

    I hope so. Team Elin!

  23. Gypsy says:

I know this “news” is not true but I think Tiger should consider being free to enjoy his life any way he wants.
    Team Tiger!!!

  24. Tia C says:

    @ Cinderella: Me too!!

I wish her the very best.

  25. money talks says:

If she had any sense she would have left in Dec, your husband has unprotected sex with over a dozen woman exposing you to diseases. As for Nike she wasn’t too offended since she has been spotted wearing Nike since the ad and I saw Charlie in Nike too since the ad.Well I guess she couldn’t find anything else to where but the company that employs her cheating husband. The company that didn’t have the morals to drop him.

  26. Camille says:

Divorce him Elin! The guy is complete trash.

  27. Danielle says:

At least she put that Master’s golfclub to good use in his SUV window. I would’ve been scared of an angry Swedish woman too.
