Call me crazy, but I kind of thought that Alan Cumming was mostly straight. Sure, I knew he had sex with men, but I thought that his bisexuality swung more towards lady-love than dong-love. I was wrong. Alan has been with the same dude for years and years. They had a civil partnership ceremony five years ago, and for their anniversary, they just got married!!! Mazel tov!

Actor Alan Cumming has married his long-time love Grant Shaffer for the second time. The couple celebrated the fifth anniversary of their civil partnership in London by exchanging vows in New York this weekend.

The 46-year-old Scot revealed the news on Twitter, writing: ‘I just got married!’ He posted a picture of the overjoyed couple embracing after the nuptials, held at the Soho Grand Hotel. In the picture, Cumming and Shaffer are seen smiling and hugging while their are applauded by their friends and family.

The Good Wife star wrote later: ‘On the 5th anniversary of our wedding in London Grant and I tied the knot again in NYC!!! #eatmericksantorum’

His message ‘Eat me Rick Santorum’ refers to the candidate Republican nomination for president, who is vocal in his opposition to gay marriage.

The couple, who reside in New York, were first married at the Old Royal Naval College Greenwich on January 7, 2007 after two years of dating. At 21, Cumming married his RSADA classmate Hilary Lyon. They split eight years later, and Cumming was later engaged to his Circle of Friends co-star Saffron Burrows.

The X Men star, who was awarded an OBE in 2009, has labelled himself as bisexual in previous interviews. Speaking to Oasis magazine in 2007, he said it had always been known among his inner circle, but he felt the need to ‘come out’ publicly.

‘It was all sort of there, but when you become more famous then you realize you’ve got to say something… just to clarify it and talk about it, and make sure it was talked about in terms that I approved of because people try and claim you, I think. The gay community tries to claim you, the straight community tries to claim you. But I felt that was more for press stuff, because I just felt I was being misrepresented a lot of the time, mostly with people saying I was straight. It is confusing for people because I’d been married before. Now I’m married again, to a man, but I’d been married to a woman, and gone out with women. And then, I hadn’t really had regular relationships with men, long-term ones, I mean. But amongst my friends, amongst people I’d known, I was always bisexual.’

You know what? I would still hit it like a house on fire. I think Alan is so sexy, and he seems like a hoot too. I’m strangely happy to learn that he’s been in a committed relationship with the same man for so long, though – and it’s so amazing that Alan and Grant were finally able to marry. Yay! Oh, and EAT ME RICK SANTORUM.

PS… I can’t even describe how much pleasure I got from these photos. Alan’s eye makeup is so much better than Duchess Kate’s.

OMG, have you see the trailer for The Debt? I’m SO seeing this movie. But I love stories about Mossad and the Cold War – Spielberg’s Munich is one of the best movies ever! Anyway, The Debt. It’s a film told in two storylines – these three Mossad agents are hunting a Nazi war criminal in the USSR in the years after WWII, and then the three agents as senior spies, reflecting on their mission and how the mission was screwed up. Helen Mirren is one of the spies! And Jessica Chastain plays the young Mirren character. The film also stars Sam Worthington, Marton Csokas, Tom Wilkinson, and Ciarán Hinds (*squeal*). Here’s the trailer. It looks so good.

Anyway, Mirren and Chastain were the stars of a screening last night. Or should I say, Helen Mirren was the star, because the bitch looks AMAZING. Helen’s red dress is Michael Kors. I even love her blowout! I guess I should mention that Dame Helen is wearing fug ankle shoes/booties, though. She has great legs, but you can’t tell because of her shoe choice.

Jessica Chastain (who is in everything these days) wore an edited Christian Dior from 2008. It’s pretty, although it’s hit-or-miss wearing such a pale color when you’re a pale redhead. Jessica makes it work, though, and she’s got a killer figure. The makeup is overdone – raccoon eyes! I blame Duchess Kate.

And Alan Cumming, for no reason other than he’s fabulous and he needs to STOP. I do not need to see Cumming’s cleavage.

Here’s a blast from the not-so-distant past – the former White House intern at the center of the Clinton impeachment case, Monica Lewinsky, 35, was photographed out in New York yesterday with Broadway star Alan Cumming. It’s hard to tell from the photos whether Alan and Monica just ran into each other and stopped for a chat or if they were hanging out the whole time.

We haven’t heard much about Monica and a quick glance at her Wikipedia page reminds me that I last saw her on The Tom Green show in 2000. She laid low for a couple years after the scandal with President Clinton and launched her own handmade fabric purse line without a lot of fanfare. Her purses don’t seem to be available anymore and it looks like she’s carrying someone else’s high end purse in these photos. In 2003 she briefly resurged as the host of a dating reality show on Fox called Mr. Personality. Monica then went on to earn her masters in social psychology from the London School of Economics in 2006.

I listened to most of the secret phone recordings between Monica and her turncoat former BFF, Linda Tripp, about ten years ago when they were available on Broadcast.com. It was a way to kill time while I was working at whichever now-defunct Internet company that employed me. Most of it was boring girl talk, and I remember that they talked about their hair a lot. Lewinsky still has great hair. She also has some awesome friends if she’s hanging out with Alan Cumming. He’s one of the most amusing people I’ve ever seen interviewed. Hope you’re doing well, Monica.
