Angelina Jolie doing pilates game on her kids’ Nintendo DS

OK! Magazine claims that Angelina Jolie has been taking time from her busy schedule running around after four kids and nursing two infants to do pilates with the help of a progressive demo-type video game for the Nintendo DS, Let’s Pilates. IGN describes the game in a review as similar to a workout DVD but with some added customization elements where you can build your own workout. It seems to be working for Angelina and she’s doing about an hour workout three times a week:

How does multitasking mom of six Angelina Jolie shed the barely-there baby weight? By using her children’s computer games to work out!

“The kids were convincing her that video games were more than just fun,” according to a source close to Angie. “They explained to her you can do anything from practice math to learn to read music and exercise.”

The source tells OK! that Angie’s eldest son Maddox, 7, was showing his mom — who, along with partner Brad Pitt, also has her hands full with Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, Shiloh, 2, and 4-month-old twins, Knox and Vivienne — the games for their Nintendo DS online when they discovered Let’s Pilates!.

“She tries to get in an hour of Pilates three times a week,” the source says. “She’s picking it up pretty quickly and is already at the hardest setting!”

[From OK! Magazine]

Sometimes I do workout DVDs off my laptop. The main problem I find is that I can’t see the screen with some pilates moves because you have to twist away or bend down. You would think that with a small screen like the Nintendo DS you would have to memorize the moves and that it must be hard to see from all positions. It’s certainly something that’s convenient to bring with you though when you travel a lot like Angelina.

We have a Wii fit and I’ve lost weight with it because the thing is pretty motivating in terms of weighing yourself every day. The workouts aren’t super difficult although there are some leg lunges and pushups that are challenging. You have to go to the gym and do other workouts to supplement it.

I’m curious to check out this pilates game that Angelina supposedly uses. I wonder if my kid will let me use his DS or if he’ll complain that I’m keeping him from playing Nintendogs.

Is Victoria Beckham going to run the New York City Marathon this weekend?

According to Starpulse, Victoria Beckham is planning on running the New York City Marathon this Sunday. They claim that she’s been training in secret like BFF Katie Holmes did last year. Of course there was a good deal of controversy about whether or not Katie actually ran the marathon or if her bodyguard did it in her place. She appeared in photos without a sports bra, looking relatively well, and was in heels for a benefit later that night.

But Victoria Beckham appears to be consider putting herself through the same ordeal – though she’s known for being unwilling to even go outside in anything without a three-inch heel.

Spice World star Victoria Beckham is reportedly set to follow in her best pal Katie Holmes’ footsteps and run the New York Marathon.

The former Spice Girl has allegedly been training in secret for the event in the Big Apple this Sunday. Holmes completed the run in five hours, 29 minutes and 58 seconds. And now Beckham is set to take on the same feat.

A source tells Britain’s Now magazine, “It was meant to be a big secret. She’s been training for months with the main goal of running in the New York marathon. But, if she doesn’t feel ready, she’s planning to do the one in Los Angeles in February next year.”

Beckham’s soccer ace husband David has reportedly been giving her fitness tips to get the singer-turned-designer into shape. And the couple has put plans to expand their family on hold for the time being so Beckham can achieve her goal.

The insider adds, “She wants to get the run out of the way because once she gets pregnant it’ll be ages before she has the opportunity again.”

[From Starpulse]

I’m calling bullshit on this. Either the story is completely fabricated or it was put out for a nice little press bit by someone in Beckham’s camp. But there’s no way in hell she’s doing this. For one thing, you can’t just sign up. You have to compete in qualifying marathons. Sometimes they’ll make an exception for people (the marathon organizers are pretty vague about when they’ll do this but celebrity appears to be a reason) but I still think it’s bull.

Posh would make a fool out of herself. She’s obviously in okay shape as she’s not overweight or anything – but most people would argue she’s underweight with little athletic tone. I think if she’d been training hard enough to do this successfully, we would have spotted the difference in her teeny tiny calves. They’re as wispy as always, and I’m sorry, but simply won’t carry her 26 miles. I wish her the best if somehow this turns out to be true, but I also hope she has a car keep pace alongside her.

Eva Mendes’ deep thoughts: loves chocolate, hates working out

I feel badly for female celebrities. In interviews they always have to talk about what they eat, why they eat, what their workout regimen is and how often they get Botox. There are far too many interviews focus on mundane crap like that. Nearly every celeb says the same thing, “Oh I hate working out!” “Oh I love to just eat whatever I want!” And we’re supposed to believe that they naturally have those bodies without any work whatsoever.

But it’s sorta nice to hear a celeb give us the courtesy of both admitting they like to eat and they have to work hard to look good. Eva Mendes is a good example. The low-key actress, who doesn’t give a lot of interviews, admits that she loves food and has to work out a lot because she puts on weight easily.

Eva Mendes has revealed she loves eating and she hates exercise. The 34-year-old actress – who recently bared almost everything for Calvin Klein’s Secret Obsession perfume advert – insists her perfect figure is not the result of a strict diet.

Eva told Grazia magazine: “I’m like every other girl across the globe – I love chocolate and I hate working out. But the truth is I have to do it. I like to eat. I cannot hold back. I cannot skip a meal. So I get into the gym; I do a lot of cardio then some light weight training. Weight is easy for me to put on, and I’m thankful that it’s pretty easy to take off.”

The Hitch star admits there is pressure on Hollywood stars to stay slim. She confessed: “Of course I take care of myself, and of course I have to look a certain way, because I’m an actress. There’s also that little rebel inside of me saying that nobody’s going to tell me how much I need to weigh or what I need to look like to fit in. I’m very defiant – I want it on my terms.

“Last year they thought I was pregnant because I had a bulge. I’d had pasta! I’d had a big lunch! Who really cares?”

[From Metro]

Though I appreciate her candor, I kind of hope for Eva’s sake that she talked about a few more interesting topics than food and working out. Girls liking chocolate isn’t exactly a news flash. That said, I’m eating some right now so I’ll shut the hell up.

Eva does have an amazing body though she doesn’t look the type to put on weight easily, unless she’s talking about two pounds. She always looks trim and healthy and never takes it too far in either direction. Whatever she’s doing, it’s looking good on her.

Here’s Eva on the set of her new movie “Last Night” in Manhattan yesterday. Images thanks to Fame.

Photos of Britney Spears practicing new routine for concert tour

Britney Spears’ official website got a major update yesterday with some pictures of Brit and her dancers practicing a routine for her concert tour. It looks pretty hardcore (and a tad dangerous) too – Brit’s holding what appears to be a real whip.

Gimme more! Brit was snapped rehearsing her latest dance routine — holding a whip.

The Spears Comeback Train is rolling on full steam ahead — she’s reportedly signed Wade Robson, the man behind her raunchy video “I’m a Slave 4 U,” to choreograph her world tour. She will reportedly hit the road in March next year.

Meanwhile, Brit’s driving-without-a-license trial has come to a grinding halt — jurors are at a deadlock! Jurors in her trial went home today without reaching a verdict after announcing they were stuck on a 10-2 vote. They’ll reconvene tomorrow.

Britney, 26, is charged with driving without a California license.

[From Extra]

It really is amazing to see how incredible Britney looks. Her body appears the same as it did years ago – she’s obviously worked incredibly hard to get it back into such crazy shape.

TMZ is reporting that the jurors in Britney’s trial are deadlocked, and they theorize that confusion of dad Jamie Spears’ testimony is partly to blame. Apparently Jamie has a very, very thick southern accent, and the website claims the jurors couldn’t understand much of his testimony. A court employee now has to read it back to them. TMZ loves to make fun of the Spears family for their southern roots, so it’s hard to tell to what extent they’re joking. I doubt Brit’s trial is hinging on even a very thick accent, but it probably doesn’t help speed things along.

Faith Hill poses in a bikini on the cover of Shape

I’m always amazed that any celebrity would even own a bikini. Tara Reid is a perfect example of why you’re just asking for trouble – the combination of a zoom lens and bad lighting can kill a career. Yet most of them seem to spend ¾ of their summers gallivanting around in little more than tiny triangles of fabric. And if you’re that brave – more power to you. Even if you are Tara Reid.

Country singer Faith Hill is donning a bikini for a magazine cover – for the first time ever. That’s pretty awesome. Hill is 41 but appears at least 10 years younger, and she looks absolutely amazing.

Faith Hill’s beautiful face has adorned covers of CDs and magazines before, but for the first time ever she’s posing in a bikini. What gave her the bravery? Pilates. “I could bend in ways I haven’t been able to since I was a teenager,” the Nashville-based star tells Shape magazine for its December issue (on sale Nov. 10). “My husband [Tim McGraw] loves it!”

There was another consideration: knee surgery in January forced her to cease exercising for six months. “I had never gone that long without doing something,” she says. “I was not happy.” In July she and McGraw began a daily routine that included four miles on the elliptical, light weight lifting, crunches and push-ups.

“I found I slept better, had more energy and was stronger,” says Hill, who then increased her regime to include Pilates classes three times a week. “It was so hard, but ultimately so worth it. My core is much stronger, and my arms are more toned. In fact, wearing a bikini on a magazine cover is my 41st birthday present to myself.”

[From People]

If I looked like that at 41, you could not pay me to keep my clothes on. I would be beyond immodest. Hill does have a cardigan over her bikini. It’s cute and matches nicely, but a little uncommon. It makes me think she’s still a bit uncomfortable with a few parts of her body, and that’s probably why she wore it.

I don’t blame her, I’m just surprised – if nothing else a retoucher can get rid of any imperfections. Nonetheless, she looks amazing and clearly worked hard for it.

Here’s Faith Hill and husband Tim McGraw enjoy a family outing with their three daughters in June. Images thanks to Bauer-Griffin.

Shirtless Russell Simmons does yoga

Def Jam founder Russell Simmons was seen out at the beach in Miami yesterday doing yoga. The 51 year-old mogul was photographed doing a triangle pose, headstand, and full spinal twist. He reportedly got into yoga a little over two years ago when he started dating model Denise Vasi, now 27. He then moved on to a younger model, Porschla Coleman, who became his yoga partner, but they’ve since split up. Simmons was last seen out with America’s Next Top Model winner Jaslene Gonzalez, 22, his youngest girlfriend yet.

Simmons was married to Baby Phat founder Kimora Lee Simmons for eight years until they separated in 2006. They have two daughters together, Ming Lee, 8, and Aoki Lee, 6, and maintain a friendly relationship.

Simmons is a supporter of animal rights and is a practicing vegan, which he explains by saying “I don’t eat anything that runs away from me.”

Simmons looks great for 51. His net worth is valued at $340 million.

Posh claims she’s eating more and running four miles a day

It seems that Hollywood is agreeing with Victoria Beckham. According to The Sun, Posh is improving in nearly every aspect of her life. She’s eating better (eating at all was an improvement), exercising, shopping less and smiling more. I’m not going to agree with the “eating more” part, but the others seem to be true, to an extent.

Victoria says: “You know, I could just go shopping every day and sit on my bum. I could do what half these people do in here — sit and have lunch and go shopping — but I’d be so bored. I don’t even go shopping any more.”

Victoria’s life has changed dramatically in the past year. Before moving to LA, she infamously never set foot in a gym and went hungry pretty much every day in a bid to stay slim. But now the former SPICE GIRL is pounding the treadmill, running four miles every day, and has built up such a healthy appetite she even allows herself carbohydrate-loaded toast for breakfast.

“I run four miles, seven days a week,” she explains. “I feel energised and healthy — there are really nice gyms here and I just enjoy it. I need that self-discipline to get up in the morning, drop the kids off at school then go to the gym. I can think properly then go home and do some work. But I do feel so much better. David puts music on my iPod and Gordon Ramsay bought me trainers where you have a little chip so you can clock how far you’re running.”

And does she have a bigger appetite?

“Yes, I am eating more. I think you do eat more when you’re working out. And you want to eat healthily, so it’s good all round.” For the record, lunch when we met was grilled fish, salad with balsamic dressing (on the side) and water, followed by peppermint tea.

vi
[From the Sun]

Aside from being kind enough to justify her eating and exercising habits to The Sun, Victoria also said she’s cut back her spending – and that David spends more than she does. I’m imagining it’s all relative; hypothetically he spends $20,000 a month on a new watch while she spends $16,000. I doubt it’s what any of us would call a sizeable difference.

She explains: “I was on the dole once and I remember what it’s like to watch how you spend your money.

“I know everything that goes in and out of our accounts. I’d like to think I’m a good businesswoman, I’m learning a lot along the way. David definitely spends much more money than I do.

“I don’t really go shopping any more — apart from the flea market I go to every Sunday. You can get some amazing vintage stuff there.

“That’s often where I get inspiration for my designs.”

[From the Sun]

So the theme of the whole article is pretty much, “Everything’s totally fine since we moved to America.” It’s kind of hard to imagine Posh Spice at a flea market. But then again that’s probably the one place she can find interesting stuff. When you can afford to buy everything, I’d think the fancier stuff could lose some of its appeal. Not that I’d complain, mind you.

It sounds like, all in all, things are better for the Beckhams this last year. But Posh is still very much Posh – it’s not like she’s ebullient or bursting with enthusiasm. Obviously I’m reading the words, not hearing them, but it still feels like there’s a lack of excitement. Her words say one thing, but they don’t necessarily convey the intended sentiment.

Tom Cruise gets diet tips from David Beckham

One of the greater battles in Tom Cruise’s life (aside from the obvious fighting off body Thetans, etc) has been the battle of the bulge. Less “end of the universe”-type important than the Thetans, but also a lot more obvious to anyone with eyes. Not just any guy walking down the street can spot a body Thetan. But pretty much anyone can see what’s going on around Tom Cruise’s midsection.

Luckily Tom Cruise has the husband of the world’s most infamous dieter at his disposal, and David Beckham has been doling out some friendly advice.

TOM CRUISE has reportedly been getting diet advice from soccer ace DAVID BECKHAM. The Top Gun star and his wife, Katie Holmes, became pals with Beckham when the footballer and his Spice Girl wife Victoria moved to Los Angeles last year (07).

And the actor is said to have shed 10 pounds in just six weeks with the sports star’s help. A source tells Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper, “David has been round at Tom’s house a lot. While Katie and Victoria have been swapping fashion tips on the phone, David has been advising Tom on diet.

“Tom has a private gym at his home and David has been working out with him. He also gave him diet advice. Tom has been sticking to 1,200 calories a day, mostly grilled chicken and fish with lots of vegetables, salads and fruit.

“David put together a work-out regime that included the treadmill, weight training and fencing lessons together.” And the reason for the ageing actor’s sudden health kick appears to be to do with his young family.

The source adds, “Tom had been steadily gaining weight. He didn’t notice it at first but then he developed quite a paunch. He hated it when pictures started appearing of him with a belly and love handles. He turned 46 this summer and he’s got a 29-year-old wife and a young family so he wanted to get back in shape.”

[From Contact Music]

You know some people shed pounds not because they’ve stopped eating but because they’re unhappy. If David Beckham moved to my city and I looked like Tom Cruise, I’d be pretty grumpy about it too. I’m just saying.

As cute as the story is, are we really supposed to believe that David Beckham’s sitting on his program, custom-tailoring his ifit program for Tom Cruise? I’m pretty sure the guy can afford his own trainer. And while I’ll admit that David Beckham probably knows what he’s doing, he’s also a busy guy – and I’m guessing a top-of-the-line professional is a little more likely to be able to give Tom the custom attention (i.e. praise and tummy rubs) that he requires.

I bought the whole “Posh is helping Katie lose weight” bit because they were probably trading illegal pills and tips of some sort. But I really doubt David Beckham is willing to block the front door to keep Tom from heading to Chili’s like Harley Pasternak does for Jessica Simpson.

Here’s Tom Cruise, David Beckham, Will Smith and their spouses are shown on 7/23/07 at a party at the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Jennifer Lopez to do triathlon on 9/14, says twins sleep through night

Jennifer Lopez met up with Good Morning America’s Chris Cuomo in Central Park this morning. She talked about training for a triathlon to take place on September 14 in Malibu in which she will run, bike, and swim to raise money for Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles. According to the website for the 2008 Nautica Malibu triathlon, the course consists of “a half-mile ocean swim, an 18 mile out-and-back bike course, and a 4-mile out-and-back run course.”

Lopez was recently declared the most inspiring woman by Self Magazine and was there with the magazine’s editor Lucy Danzinger, who is is helping her train.

Twins sleep through the night
Lopez said the twins are doing “great” and “amazing” and that they sleep through the night and that they “go to bed around 9/9:30 and get up around 6:30/7:00.”

They are looking for a nanny still
She mentioned they are about to get help with her six month-old twins, and that “We actually just tried somebody out last week when Lucy was there, it was her first day, because I will be going back to work to do a film later in the year, so I’m trying to find somebody… We’ve been doing it [caring for the twins] by ourselves and we love it.”

Lopez said she got the idea to do a triathlon when she was 8 months pregnant and saw one on TV. She thought “maybe I could do that this year.”

Lopez was encouraged by Self editor Danzinger, who contacted her after she heard she would do a triathlon and told her she could help. Danzinger is a triathlete who has been training for around 4 years.

Start slow if you’re training
Self.com has more about Lopez’s triathlon training, and Danzinger said you can train for one if you’re already active by just adding things gradually into your workout.

Lopez claimed the swimming was a “killer” and was the hardest part for her. Danzinger added that you can train to swim by just trying it for five minutes at a time, and giving yourself permission to stop.

Lopez said training is fun and challenging but admitted she’s scared she might not be able to finish.

Danzinger emphasized the importance of setting goals and said “if you have a goal, you can reach that finish line.”

Lopez spends about an hour and a half training a day, works out at home
As for working out and having time for her children, Lopez said that she has a full setup at home with a stationary bike and treadmill and that she does about an hour to an hour and a half a day. Her husband, Marc Anthony, is very supportive, and helped set up her workout room.

Jennifer Lopez usually seems like a self-centered diva to me, but good for her for training for a triathlon and donating the money to charity if that’s what she wants to do. I’m kind of surprised that she claims to be such a hands-on mom, although she seemed genuine about it on GMA this morning. You can donate to Lopez’s cause through Self.com.

Carmen Electra Pole Dancing Wii Game Could Be Coming

The company that brought us the Carmen Electra home pole dancing kit is seeking a partner to help launch a pole dancing version of Nintendo’s Wii.

“According to the report, Peekaboo Pole Dancing, the company behind the Carmen Electra home pole dancing kit, is looking to bring the new exercise to the makers of the game. The report speculates, “Pole dancing would certainly be an interesting fit for the Nintendo Wii, and it would be something to see how big of a pole they would actually ship with a game.”

[National Ledger]

It sounds like a total fabrication and the dream of 15 year old boys everywhere, but it could be a possibility. Carmen has several pole dancing, lap dancing and stripping instructional videos aimed at providing a work out and adding sexy skills for the bedroom. The possible stripper game will be rated and aimed for an adult audience that caters to both men and women.

Currently Peekaboo Pole Dancing is shopping for a partner to make the dream a reality. The company needs help to license the concept. While Peekaboo denied Electra’s involvement, it has not been completely ruled out. They sent out an email announcing the idea and mentioned a few of celebrities who own their portable poles to encourage hype. Kylie Minogue, the Pussycat Dolls and the Spice Girls were all mentioned.

I get the general idea. However I foresee a couple of problems. One – Wii games are aimed at all ages. I understand that adults can play, but the idea of seeing my dad swing around a pole in pasties on family game night is not appealing. Second a slew of lawsuits will begin as some knob uses the pole in a manner other than what it was intended for.

Note by Celebitchy: The Wii Fit comes out on May 21 and is priced at $89.99. You can anticipate a pole dancing Wii option being wildly popular, but it doesn’t seem like something the Nintendo people would want to put out considering the adult subject matter. If it does come out I know my husband and countless other husbands and boyfriends will be ordering one hoping to get the benefits, so maybe Nintendo will accept the controversy in exchange for the cash.

Here’s a video demonstrating the Peekaboo Pole Dancing Kit:

And here’s Carmen Electra doing a lap dance:
