Tiger Woods’ neighbors hire a lawyer to say that there was no fight

Tiger Woods’ poor neighbors have had to hire attorneys just to get people to leave them alone. Ever since Woods’ accident, there’s been the general feeling that neighbor Linda Adams and/or her two adult sons saw something, but they aren’t saying. The family rushed to Tiger’s aid after his car hit a fire hydrant and then a tree early Friday morning. Linda Adams called 911 at the request of Tiger’s wife Elin. The family insists they have no secret knowledge that they’re keeping bundled up, and would like everyone to leave them alone.

Tiger Woods’ neighbors — the ones who made the 911 call — just hired lawyers to talk to the media … and one of them just offered up new details about what happened after the crash.

Attorney Bill Sharpe said the Adams family was awake when the crash occurred — and that they were surprised, obviously, when they discovered it was Tiger lying on the ground outside their house.

Sharpe said Tiger’s wife Elin asked them for help — which is why they called 911. The lawyer said they gave Tiger a pillow and a blanket while they waited for an ambulance.

Sharpe said the family told him there were no indications the Woods were fighting that night — and Elin was very concerned for Tiger’s safety.

The next guy, attorney Christian Conrad, wasn’t as forthcoming … reading a brief statement about how the Adams family want to remain good neighbors by shutting their traps about what happened … and want to be left alone.

[From TMZ]

It’s completely understandable that they want to be left out of this media frenzy. Just because they want to be “good neighbors by shutting their traps” doesn’t mean they won’t cooperate with police and share everything they saw. Tiger has been extremely evasive with the police, but there’s no reason to believe his neighbors would be willing to be that accommodating.

TMZ also has more information that suggests Tiger’s facial injuries were not from the car crash. There was no blood anywhere in the car. If he received those injuries from the accident, it’s logical to believe that he would have bled in the car.

Tiger Woods did not bleed in the vehicle he crashed Friday morning — not a single drop — according to law enforcement sources. Cops from the Windermere PD, who first responded on scene, observed Tiger’s lower lip split open and we’re told he had other marks as well. But TMZ sources say there was absolutely no blood in the SUV.

What’s more — we’ve learned Tiger’s wife, Elin Nordegren, told Windermere cops she smashed the back passenger window with the golf club, then unlocked the driver’s door and dragged Tiger out. Yet there were no traces of blood.

This has created even more suspicion with law enforcement … that Tiger’s wounds may have not been the result of SUV meets fire hydrant.

[From TMZ]

This is an excellent example of why it’s always easier to tell the truth. There are just a million little details you don’t consider at the time you’re coming up with an elaborate lie. Obviously you don’t want to believe that Tiger was physically assaulted by his wife. On the other hand, it’s hard to imagine something shady didn’t go down, considering all the evidence that doesn’t line up with their strange version of events. Especially when coupled with Tiger avoiding the police. It’s an interesting mystery, and the affair adds so much drama to the whole thing. It’s sad when you realize people’s lives are spinning out of control right now. Hopefully if nothing else Tiger will at least talk to the police – trying to hide from them can only drag things out.

Joe Jackson: MJ’s kids have future in showbiz, ‘Blanket can really dance’

wenn5317793
This Huffington Post report is just an update on the formal LAPD investigation into Michael Jackson’s death, but at the end there’s a quote from Joe Jackson (who was interviewed by ABC News) that will make your blood run cold. First, the update: LA Police Chief William Bratton (the guy who cleaned up New York under Mayor Giuliani) admits that they still have no idea what they’re dealing with, whether Michael’s death was homicide, accidental overdose, et cetera. Apparently, toxicology is taking forever. I would imagine it would, if the rumors of MJ’s prescription drug habit have any truth.

Now for the grossest part in an already sordid story – Joe Jackson’s interview. He believes that MJ’s death was “foul play”. Okay, that’s interesting. Then, as an aside, Joe started talking about MJ’s kids, saying that Paris was crying whenever her dad’s name was mentioned, but that she has a future in showbiz. He also said that Blanket “can really dance”. Uh, I’m sick to my stomach:

Detectives investigating the death of Michael Jackson are looking at his prescription drug history and trying to talk with his numerous former doctors, the Los Angeles police chief said. Jackson’s father, Joe Jackson, told ABC News in an interview that he believed “foul play” was involved in his son’s death. But in the interview aired Friday on “Good Morning America,” Jackson did not elaborate.

Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton told CNN that police are waiting for the coroner’s report before ruling out any possibilities in their “comprehensive” investigation into the sudden death of the 50-year-old pop star two weeks ago. The coroner’s report will determine the cause of death and hinges on time-consuming toxicology tests.

“Based on those we’ll have an idea of what we’re dealing with,” Bratton said Thursday. “Are we dealing with homicide? Are we dealing with an accidental overdose? What are we dealing with?”

Bratton said detectives are gathering evidence, including items seized from Jackson’s rented home and arranging interviews with his many physicians, but the police chief deferred to the coroner to determine the cause of death.

“The next move really is his,” Bratton said. “We’re not marking time waiting for his report.”

The Drug Enforcement Administration and the state attorney general’s office, which keeps a database of prescription drugs, are assisting investigators. An attorney for Dr. Arnold Klein, one of Jackson’s many physicians, told the Los Angeles Times that the dermatologist was subpoenaed for medical records, which he turned over to the county coroner’s office.

Bratton refused to discuss details of the case. Jackson, who died June 25, had a well-known history of using prescription medications, especially painkillers. Following his death, Cherilyn Lee, a registered nurse who had worked for Jackson, told The Associated Press she repeatedly rejected his demands for the potent anesthetic Diprivan, also known as Propofol.

Jackson had multiple doctors, friends and staff who came in and out of his life. Which people were being interviewed by police was unclear because the LAPD has said virtually nothing about the probe.

Joe Jackson said he didn’t know anything about drugs his son was involved in.

“I don’t even know the name of them,” he said. “I do know that whatever he was taking was to make him rest because he had been working so hard.”

Police towed a doctor’s car from Jackson’s home hours after he died and said later it could contain medication or other evidence. Coroner’s officials also said Jackson was taking prescription medication but declined to elaborate.

Meanwhile, Joe Jackson told ABC that he and his wife, Katherine, should have custody of Michael’s three children. “They’ll grow up to be strong Jacksons,” he said.

He said Michael’s daughter, Paris, who spoke at the Tuesday memorial service, was taking the death hard and was crying whenever Michael’s name is mentioned. He said that she might have a future in the entertainment business along with the youngest son, nicknamed Blanket, who “can really dance.”

[From Huffington Post]

I’m so tired of giving Joe Jackson the benefit of the doubt – the man is crazy. He is wrong. He should have nothing to do with those children. Next month, when Katherine Jackson has to go to court to prove she’s capable of raising the three kids, Joe Jackson’s involvement should be a major factor for the custodial issues. As in, if Joe is around, the kids should be nowhere near him.

Heath Ledger Drug Probe Dropped; Mary-Kate won’t have to testify

asg-002579.jpg

Mary-Kate Olsen is off the hook. The pint-sized starlet had been subpoenaed by a grand jury to testify in the DEA’s investigation of Heath Ledger’s death. She had previously refused to say a word unless she was given full immunity – however you can’t do that with a grand jury. I think a lot of people were irked that she was being so stubborn, considering pretty much everyone else was reported to have cooperated very willingly with the investigation. On the other hand, she could easily have just had a super cautious lawyer.

Now it won’t matter at all, as the feds have called off the investigation entirely. And according to some sources, they botched it.

Federal prosecutors have decided not to pursue a criminal case into how Heath Ledger obtained the powerful painkillers that contributed to his overdose death this year, a law enforcement official said Wednesday.

Prosecutors in the U.S. attorney’s office in Manhattan had been overseeing a Drug Enforcement Administration probe into whether the painkillers found in Ledger’s system were obtained illegally. But the prosecutors have bowed out “because they don’t believe there’s a viable target,” said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because no charges have been filed.

The decision comes after recent reports that actress Mary-Kate Olsen was demanding immunity before answering questions about the startling death of her close friend and his drug use. Authorities say she was the first person called by a masseuse who found the 28-year-old “Dark Knight” actor’s lifeless body in his Manhattan apartment.

The DEA had obtained a subpoena that could have forced Olsen if she continued to hold out. But the subpoena, issued in April, is no longer valid because it was contingent upon prosecutors pursuing the case, the official said Wednesday. The official added that the case could still be revived if evidence of a crime emerges.

[From the Huffington Post]

You have to wonder who that “viable target” target was. It sounds like the investigation was pretty far reaching. TMZ has an interesting account from several anonymous sources. It’s TMZ, so you’ve got to take it with a grain of salt, but it sounds like their information could actually be legit.

Sources connected with the Heath Ledger investigation say the Drug Enforcement Administration set a new low for starf**king. People who have talked to TMZ off the record are now willing to go on record — still anonymously — about one of the most bizarre DEA power grabs ever.

How’s this for starters … no one we’ve spoken with connected with the case can point to a single DEA case where a massive investigation was launched over an accidental death in which no criminality was even hinted at.

We know the DEA went all over the country, in one case tracking down a guy in California who smoked a joint with Ledger in the ’90′s, telling him he had to testify in a Grand Jury probe. And how’s this for chutzpah … the DEA told the guy he would have to pay his own way to NYC to testify before the Grand Jury!

In another case, the DEA was nosing around a film set in Arizona looking for people who had information about possible Ledger drug connections.

[From TMZ]

There was also a lot of inter-agency rivalry between the NYPD and the DEA, according to TMZ. They claim the U.S. Attorney’s office was “appalled” by the “bogus” investigation, and basically shut it down as soon as they felt they could. So it probably didn’t have anything to do with Mary-Kate Olsen. Considering how quiet she is, I’m sure we’ll never know what she knows. And that’s pretty much the end of this case.
