What are the general thoughts on Michelle Trachtenberg? I think she’s a pretty little thing, but I don’t have an opinion on her talent or her personality. She seems kind of bland to me, but then again, I was never into Buffy. I’ve never gotten the needy-famewhore vibe off of her, and she doesn’t seem to be one of those hyper-ambitious girls just dying to see her name in the press. So this new interview with Michelle seems out of character. Michelle drops this bombshell: she was up for the role in Bella Swan in Twilight. Can you feel the Twihard Fatwa coming down on Michelle? I can.

Michelle Trachtenberg was a vampire slayer’s little sister on Buffy, and she could’ve fallen in love with a creature of the night on the silver screen, too!

The 26-year-old actress told Us Weekly Wednesday at the opening of LOLA in NYC that she was indeed considered for a role in the Twilight films. “There was definitely interest here and there because there’s only so few pale girls in Hollywood,” she explained.

“I’ve known [director] Catherine Hardwicke since the movie Thirteen,” she said. “I was actually supposed to star in that, but I was on Buffy at the time.” (Hardwicke, who went on to directed the very first Twilight film in 2009, directed the saga’s star Nikki Reed in the 2003 drama and Evan Rachel Wood played the film’s primary character. Reed cowrote the gritty screenplay.)

So why did Reed, Kristen Stewart and Ashley Greene end up as Breaking Dawn’s leading ladies instead of Trachtenberg? “I guess schedules never worked out,” she explained.

“I already have Buffy,” she added. “I’ve already done the vampire thing.”

But the Gossip Girl star doesn’t want to speculate how her life would be different if she’d starred opposite Robert Pattinson in the blockbuster films. “[Hypothetical answers mean] you’re not living in the moment and you’re looking negatively at what you’re doing now,” she mused.

I’ve read way too much about Twilight, but I’ve never heard anything about this. I thought the casting story went like this: Catherine Hardwicke’s first choice for Bella was always Kristen Stewart (who at that point was fresh off of Into the Wild, which got her a lot of attention) – Kristen was offered the part and she said yes immediately. All of the casting drama was with Edward, and it took months for Robert Pattinson to be cast. Isn’t that how it went? Or was there a “search” to find the right Bella and several actresses were considered, including Michelle Trachtenberg? Or is all of this just wishful (famewhore) thinking on Michelle’s part?

And in a parallel universe, what would the world be like if Michelle had been cast as Bella? Would Robert Pattinson have fallen for Michelle instead??! OMG.

John Mayer has been keeping his nose clean for the most part for several months. There was his Douche Extraordinaire visit to the Today Show, but that was pretty tame, honestly. And it’s been a really long time (in Mayer Douche Time) since we’ve heard anything solid about his dating life. Sure, there are still reports that he and Jennifer Aniston are back together, and there’s still that story that he and Taylor Swift are hitting it, but nothing solid. Now Page Six is reporting that Michelle Trachtenberg was all over his douche-jock the other night:

“Gossip Girl” star Michelle Trachtenberg cozied up to John Mayer at Soho House in Los Angeles the other night.

“Michelle was bouncy and flirty. She seemed smitten with him,” said one witness.

But the singer/guitarist “seemed too cool for school and non-expressive.” A flack for Mayer had no comment. Trachtenberg’s rep said the pair chatted for five minutes and then she resumed dinner with her family.

“They’ve known each other for years,” the rep added.

Ugh. I hope this isn’t true. The part about her being “smitten” that is. I mean… I don’t really have strong feelings about Michelle Trachtenberg either way, but she strikes me as a nice girl with some self-esteem issues, and that’s a fatal combination for a douche like Mayer. Even though it sucks that Mayer seems to think he’s “too cool” for Michelle, in the long run I prefer it this way, rather than Mayer getting his douche paws on her and f-cking with her head.

Michelle Trachtenberg, 24, is maybe best known for her roles in Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl. She’s seen out at events occasionally, and I remember reading some rude commentary on her weight earlier this year. She’s a gorgeous average-sized young woman in a very tiny insular community that considers anything over a size 2 fat. (Yes I got that from Jennifer Love Hewitt.)

Trachtenberg has finally spoken out about the criticism, and she tells Hollywood Life that she’s not fat. It’s not that she’s personally insulted, she explains, she just doesn’t want young girls to get the wrong message about their bodies.

We got to catch up with actress Michelle Trachtenberg at week two of the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge on Jul. 31 at Blue Star Jets field in Bridgehampton, where she took a break from filming Gossip Girl and openly expressed her frustration over being called fat — and considering how great the actress looked, wearing a flowing floral Rebecca Taylor maxi dress standing in the shade while attendees mingled at the SWAGG Moblie Application lounge, I don’t blame her! “Look at me,” she said while grabbing both sides of her teeny waist, “Tell me, where am I fat?”

Honestly, I couldn’t agree with her more! I’ve seen her in person at multiple events and Michelle is a thin girl with a nice figure — I think it’s ridiculous that her body is constantly under scrutiny! The down to Earth star said at the end of the day, it’s all about how it effects her fans. “It isn’t even about me, it’s about the message it sends to normal girls,” she said. “Some girl in Middle America is gonna pick up [a tabloid] and say, ‘Oh Michelle is my favorite actress and they think she’s fat, what does that say about me?’”

I agree with her message, but did she have to add the part where “some girl in Middle America” says she’s her “favorite actress“? It just sounds a little haughty, but I’m looking for something else to talk about other than body issues and am prone to nitpick. Michelle looks to have lost some weight in the past few months, but she was perfectly gorgeous before. It looks like she made some bad fashion choices that didn’t flatter her as well. The average woman is a size 14 and Trachtenberg was maybe an 8 at the most earlier this year. She’s not fat, but when you line her up against her emaciated peers she does stand out as particularly lovely, healthy and normal-looking. There will probably be many more girls in middle America calling her their favorite actress now that she’s spoken out about this.

There are new reports that the night Ashlee Simpson got drunk and was “too thin,” she also had a showdown with Michelle Trachtenberg, Pete Wentz’s ex. Ashlee and Pete were seated near Michelle and her boyfriend, and the two couples had a nice conversation where Ashlee even showed Michelle pictures of her son Bronx. But when Ashlee got drunker, it turned into a not-so-nice, one-sided screaming match. Ashlee started grinding up on Pete and giving him a lapdance while screaming insults at Michelle and telling her that the whole time Michelle was dating Pete, Ashlee was boinking him.

Ashlee, Jessica Simpson’s younger sister, had to be restrained at the event where Jay-Z and Eminem performed. The trouble started when Wentz and Simpson were seated near Trachtenberg, who dated Wentz before Simpson met the Fall Out Boy bassist.

According to PerezHilton: “The evening started off very civilly. Pete and Ashlee had a pleasant conversation with Michelle and her boyfriend for close to 20 minutes, and even showed [Trachtenberg] some baby pictures of [Ashlee's] little boy, Bronx.”

But then Simpson started drinking. “Things got out of control,” an insider was quoted. An increasingly loud Simpson began to give Wentz a lap dance while staring directly at Michelle and hurling insults at her. “She was grinding up on Pete like a stripper. It was actually pretty disgusting,” a witness told the Web site.

Things reached a climax when Simpson screamed at a confused Trachtenberg, “I hope you know, the whole time you were dating Pete, I was [bleep]ing him!”

A bystander dragged Simpson away from Trachtenberg, who once starred in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” while Wentz looked mortified.

Trachtenberg’s spokesperson didn’t return Page Six’s calls. But Simpson’s rep said, “It was just a misunderstanding. Ashlee has since apologized to Michelle and they remain on good terms.”

We’ve heard in the past that there was some tension between Michelle and Ashlee. After Ashlee and Pete’s wedding, Michelle was talking sh*t about the couple in an airport and was overheard by one of Pete’s friends. The two clearly have some issues with each other, though I’m sure Pete loves being fought over.

It’s just low-class to yell in a crowded party about how you helped your husband cheat on his ex. But since their conversation turned from “look at pictures of my infant son” to insults, you have to wonder if Michelle said something first.

The News of the World reports that fuzzy little mini-mars bar sized popstar Robbie Williams, an old soul at the age of 32, is taking a line from his own songbook and “Doing it for the Kids” … or well at least Doing it for Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Michelle Trachtenberg — who is all of 21.

“Robbie really likes Michelle — he especially loves her sense of humour. They’re having a great time just hanging out.”

“As we all know, Robbie doesn’t have a high celebrity profile in the States despite many attempts to launch his career over there.”

“So as far as Michelle is concerned, she’s just spending time with a normal bloke from a place called Stoke. That’s just how Rob likes it.”

Well we have all heard lots of talk about how Robbie likes it … some of it involving blokes fom Stoke … but Michelle managed a gay romance on Six Feet Under … I’m sure she can manage it with Five and a Half Feet Williams.

It’s always amusing to watch how the ultimate dig the UK press lobs at one of their own is that they tried to crack the US market and failed. They take Oasis and Robbie to town for that regularly. I actually think Robbie Williams has pretty high Q factor in the States –even if his Billboard numbers never were cross-over stellar. But then again I just may be partial to Stoke Blokes — just like Michelle.

The tortured man-child has never been the poster boy for maturity, but he seems to have medicated most of his early demons back into the box … and just might be a lovely set of celebrity-dating training wheels for young Miss T. Michelle recently threatened to kick Lindsay Lohan when Drunky McFreckles went off at her in some Miami Club so we already know the girl has good sense – Lindsay Lohan kickage oughtta be an Olympic Sport at this late date.

Michelle you are old enough to drink — so drink deep from the well of crazy English boyfriend … you’ll be a better hydrated woman for it … also maybe talk him into a little manscaping … you are both in L.A. after all.

Courtney Love, Scott Weiland of Velvet Revolver, Michelle Tractenberg, and Ben Kingsley were among the stars at the kick-off to fashion week 2006 at Mr. Chow’s in LA last night.

Love was recently linked with “Capote” director Bennett Miller, and toured with Weiland in 2004. They look cosy and may be a couple, but we doubt it.
