This year’s MTV VMA awards are swiftly approaching (I’m totally looking forward to the Robin Thicke appearance are you?) and will arrive this Sunday evening. Miley Cyrus has been duly tweeting rehearsal photos for her “We Can’t Stop” performance. I guess these are her twerking partners or (in her words, not mine) the “home girls here with the big butt / shaking it like we at a strip club.” Of course, Miley had to caption the above photo as “STAY ON YO TOES HOES! #wereback #votemiley.” But seriously, y’all. Miley fully realizes that she’s white, so enough with the friendly reminders because she’s living everyone’s dream, you jealous people.
Now onto the topic of today’s Miley discussion, which is once again the haircut that changed Miley’s life that everybody wants to copy. You may notice that during the past week, Miley has been wearing her hair in mini-pigtails that vaguely resemble horns, right? Well, she’s growing that hair out little by little. I sort of glossed over Miley’s recent admission in a Fashion Police interview about how she is tugging on her hair nightly in an ill-advised effort to make it grow faster. Now Miley’s hairstylist has revealed that she’s practically counting the days until she has long enough hair to add a weave:
Miley shocked the world when she drastically cut her hair and started rocking a pixie cut. Now, Miley’s plan is to grow her hair out! And her hairstylist is revealing how he’s helping Miley grow out her cropped ‘do!
Miley Cyrus, 20, drastically changed her image when she chopped off her long locks, but she’s now returning to her old do! Miley’s hairstylist revealed how he’s getting Miley back to her old roots!
Miley revealed on E!’s Fashion Police that she loves her cropped ‘do, but she has decided it’s time to grow out her bold pixie cut. She says that she will use Viviscal (a hair growth pill) and a few well-placed extensions.
To return to her old form, Miley went back to her hairstylist Chris McMillan, who also gave her the bold pixie cut.
Chris said, “We’re growing it out. Up and over is the new direction. We’re keeping it short on the sides and back until the top gets longer. Very Madonna first album cover.”

So is this really a surprise? Miley has been trying in vain to really own this haircut, but I’ve secretly been wondering how long she can hold out before getting a weave. Like, with dreadlocks or something awful like that. Honestly, I can’t wait for the return to fake hair for Miley because that means Pink might finally be able to reclaim her old hairdo. That will be awesome.

I think her hair looks good when it’s styled like in the last picture in the white dress. But many people go through hair phases, so it will be pap-worthy when she comes out of the salon with the new ‘do.

Yes, nothing is more empowering, than hair that is NOT your own.
I have hair as short as Miley’s and while I like having short hair, it is a pain in the neck. I constantly have to get it cut which is annoying as well as expensive. That surely wouldn’t be one of Miley’s concerns though. And growing out short hair is unbearable. You’re bound to look a bit … off.
Ooooh, I looked so bad when I was growing out my short hair. No matter what I did, there were several mullet months I could not escape.
I’m sure Miley has the resources to avoid that, unless she could honor her father’s career with her hair for a bit.

My personal offense- at least this time- is that she is standing in a crowd of African-American women and is clearly the leader of the group since it’s her song. I remember when she got the cut. She said it “was so her”. Well this is a quick about face.
I think she is having a really difficult time not being Hannah Montanna anymore. She is extremely lucky that she generated enough money that she can live luxuriously for the rest of her life. So it is not like she has to take any job that comes along.
