Rob Kardashian reportedly enters South Florida rehab, will focus on weight loss

Rob Kardashian

A few months have passed since I last spoke of Rob Kardashian. He’s been laying low and battling his demons. Rob’s been struggling with his weight for years. He’s obviously depressed, and his family is mostly too busy preening in the mirror to care. They tried to make it into a KUWTK storyline without Rob’s involvement. So rude. Rob finally lashed out at Kim, which she deserved after telling him to stop being depressed. Kim also told the family to stop “licking his a**,” but we already knew she was a selfish person.

Stories circulated about Rob being hooked on crystal meth, which was ridiculous. I can see him being hooked on painkillers, but who knows. A new report from Gossip Extra (a South Floridian publication) says Rob quietly checked into rehab last weekend. The facility sounds pretty strict:

Keeping up With The Kardashians star Rob Kardashian quietly checked into a beachside Palm Beach County drug and booze rehab center over the weekend, and he managed to avoid dozens of shutterbugs scouring the area.

The rogue Kardashian, who’s the youngest of momager Kris Jenner‘s four children with her first husband, is “in good spirits” and has a positive mindset, says a friend who helped him check in for the 60-day in-patient program.

“He told me ‘This is it, I just need to stick with it and do this,'” said Delray Beach resident Mark Behar, a bodyguard who works with Hollywood celebs and befriended Rob years ago.

Behar says Rob’s regimen includes weight loss and physical training. “Rob will probably lose 10 to 20 pounds within the first few weeks by just being in rehab and daily programs relating to his detox.”

Kardashian, 28, could end up staying in the area until Christmas to get himself back on track.

Overweight and allegedly battling substance and alcohol abuse, the Dancing With The Stars 13th season standout is said to be trying to cut himself off from the world until he gets better.

The rehab center’s rules include a ban on cell phone and visits for the first month and a half!

So … Florida. A few years ago, we heard about Rob’s secret lovechild with a woman who lives in Miami. So he has state connections already. A Florida rehab would give Rob space from his nutty family, which sounds like the best medicine of all. Gossip Cop has been unable to confirm or deny whether this story is real, so it’s probably true. I hope Rob gets the help he needs.

Well we all know Kim won’t visit Rob, a ban on cellphone use means she can’t take a selfie.

  2. Tate says:

I can’t imagine having those people as family. Good luck to him.

    • Elisa the I. says:

Hmmmm, but if my family was like this, I would cut all ties and try living my own life – even if it’s hard. That’s what i don’t get. Maybe he is a masochist….

  3. MrsBPitt says:

I don’t know much about drugs, but don’t people with drug problems, usually get really skinny? Alcohol, on the hand, can get you fat quick! But, I don’t remember ever seeing Rob out drunk…maybe he is addicted to food? Whatever his problem or problems are, I hope he gets better and runs far away from his looney toon family!

    • BeckyR says:

If he is struggling with depression, smoking a lot of pot, and rarely leaving his room, no wonder he has packed on the pounds. I hope he gets it all sorted out.

Could be also opiates, sleeping pills, pain killers. Look up Eminem’s pics from around 2006-8, like the ones from 2006 Shadybowl Superparty. He’s normally a very lean guy but at the time he was high on sleeping pills etc all the time and slept all day and only got up to eat, he said so himself. Amber from Teen Mon was not slim either even though she was on opiates all the time, her words.

    • kcarp says:

This is probably a fancy way of saying Fat Farm. It’s Hollywood its more acceptable to be addicted to drugs than to be fat.

I need to lose 14lbs and I wish I could go to a spa for a couple of weeks and get it off.

      • Snazzy says:

Right, me too! I need to lose a good 15 pounds and I would love to be able to lose them “in a few weeks” through “detox”. Is that even safe?

    • Bridget says:

Was John Belishi skinny? Addicts come in all shapes and sizes.

    • Brittney B says:

I think that’s why Bedhead dismissed the crystal meth rumors and said painkillers were more likely.

Downers in general tend to cause weight gain. If he’s taking opiates, he’s probably constantly lethargic (forget exercise; any physical activity at all is unlikely). Many people get the munchies too.

The only drugs that are directly associated with weight loss are appetite-suppressing uppers like cocaine, meth, prescription stimulants, etc. I have a friend who did coke heavily throughout college and stayed very thin, but she gained 25 pounds within a month of switching to painkillers. “Heroin chic” is kind of a misnomer; when opiate addicts lose weight, it’s usually the depression or lack of funds for food that does it.

I feel bad for him and wish him the best, it can’t be easy being around so many narcissistic as*sholes, extremely successful ones at that.

  5. Moxie Remon says:

I really love Rob and please, don’t get me wrong, but i think he was always kinda lazy. Remember, if anyone here watched, that he graduated and decided to take the easy, spotlight life? He could’ve had a normal job, like a normal person and focused on the real things. I think his disease really took it’s toll on him, obviously, but i have to agree, it must be awful not to have an understanding family. But hey, it has to come from him too in order to get help.

    • Kelly says:

Not only does he not have an understanding family, but he’s just not–and I hate to say this–as attractive as his sisters. They have the girl group going for them and he’s on his own. If he made a sex tape, no one would pay for that.

      • MrsBPitt says:

@Kelly…not as attractive as his sisters? Really? To me, the whole family are very ordinary looking! Kim was probably the more attractive of the bunch, (but I can barely remember her before all the surgery). I see just as attractive, or more attractive people walking the aisles of the grocery store. The Kardashians women may think they are model material, but I disagree!

      • qwerty says:

His looks are not the problem, he looks fine. It’s the fact that we live in a society where women can literally do nothing but look good and be rewarded with fame and money, while men are expected to be useful/capable somehow to achieve those things. At the same time, women who are great at the same things as men won’t be elevated to the sex symbol status the way men are (regardless of their looks really) if they’re not attractive. Sexism cuts both ways I guess.

      • qwerty says:

I’m dog tired so am not sure I’m speaking clearly. Basically they chose a line of “work” where a man has no place.

    • nikko says:

I think he’s spoiled. The baby and the only boy of the family. They all spoiled him. I think he’s just lazy too, because he could of gotten out there and did something w/ his life. He was just hanging on to his sister’s fame. I’m like Kim, he needs to get his lazy a** up and do something. He has all the opportunity (his mom got that sock business set up for him), to get hisself together, go see a therapist, get the gastric surgery and quit hiding out.

  6. Nicolette says:

Wish him well and hope this is successful for him. Aside from whatever it is he’s battling whether it’s weight, drugs or alcohol addiction he needs rehab from his toxic family. Best thing for him would be to get away from them and build a life elsewhere.

  7. Carolina says:

I hope he gets better and stays away from that toxic family. I remember when they all went to therapy on an episode and he kept trying to talk and none of them would listen to him and when he started crying and left the room they all just sat there like idiots while khloe went after him. Kris just sat there and looked at the camera with her crocodile tears running down her face

  8. kri says:

This facility at least sounds like it means business, and if he can tough t out, he’s got a good chance of having a happy life. I don’t click/comment on the Voldemort Family anymore because I genuinely want them to go away, but Rob is a bit different. He appears to be somewhat human, so I’m pulling for him.

    • TeaAndSympathy says:

Yes, I agree, kri. I hope that, even when he finds it really confronting and tough, he sticks it out for the whole term, even though 60 days doesn’t seem that long. This is the best thing he could have done for himself, and I’m betting that part of the therapy will include dealing with his feelings and onions of his (vile) family. I do hope this story is true, and wish him all the best, because even after all that’s happened, there’s still some hope for him.

      • TeaAndSympathy says:

Onions?? Autocorrect thinks it knows bloody everything. Obviously, I meant OPINIONS.

  9. Mispronounced Name Dropper says:

Any guy who can’t make his situation work really is in a bad way. He has money, connections and would have no shortage of women who would date him because of his fame. What a waste.

  10. Seapharris7 says:

I wish I could get that kind of help for my depression… I like Rob, and I want him to succeed.

  11. MinnFinn says:

Goats on the Roof – Please weigh in on this. You had some strong opinions about Melissa McCarthy and America’s obesity epidemic the other day.

  12. Patricia says:

So I was sick last week and I watched a few episodes of KUWTK from season nine (don’t judge!!)

All anyone would address is his weight. “Oh I heard Rob went to the gym, that’s good” “Rob needs to get to the gym more often!” “Rob probably isn’t coming on vacation because he’s upset that he’s fat” (um, maybe he’s depressed?) the only person who had a grip on the fact that he’s not well and it’s not just about pounds was Khloe.
It’s like this family can literally only see the outward expression of his issues. They can only focus and worry about the superficial aspect. No one ever mentions that he’s obviously depressed, that the weight is a secondary issue. It’s like if he was having all these issues but was still thin then they would never even realize he had a problem. To them it’s just all about the weight, all about the looks.

Poor man. I hope he gets help. He deserves his own family to look past the weight and see that there is a deeper issue and support him to get help for that, not just berate him about the gym.

  13. Mylene - Montreal says:

ALL Kardashian Man have issues …. Just can’t wait for Kanye ……

  14. MediaMaven says:

Maybe they could ALL go to rehab – take away their phones and all of the stupid stories and selfies and give the world a break for a while. They can use the time to “touch up” and “tweak” all of their artificial body parts gone wrong, and take some proper Photoshop classes.

  15. Sassback says:

I actually didn’t think Kim was mean for telling the family to stop “licking his ass.” The interview where she derided his depression was horrible but she was right in some capacity-no one can make you get help. They seem to have to gone both ways with him-kissing his ass all while making fun of him or dismissing his problems as simple laziness. But Kim had a point-he has the world at his disposal, money for rehabs, trainers, chefs, whatever he wants. A lot of people don’t have the luxury of having immediate help like that. I myself suffered from depression for about a year and my family could not make me get the help I needed, they could only lay the tools at my feet; one day I kind of hit a bottom and realized I needed help and only I had the actual power to make myself use what was given to me, and I went to therapy and got on my medication, etc.
It’s the same thing with drugs-if Rob is using Sizzurp and weed and pills like the tabloids suggest-you can only get help if you want help.
