This is a photo of Rob Kardashian in 2011 during his DWTS stint when he looked his happiest and healthiest. At this point, I think most of us can agree that Rob Kardashian is struggling with some serious problems. He’s dealing with Kim’s twisted version of tough love (and she delights in dragging him for tv ratings). He’s clearly depressed and has probably been that way for years. He’s also very conscious of his weight while surrounded by one of the most superficial families in history.
Every so often, rumors of Rob’s substance abuse hit the tabloids. These are mostly limited to details about painkillers and Sizzurp. This week’s issue of In Touch takes a dramatic turn and alleges something scary. The tabloid says Rob’s hooked on crystal meth. EH:
Reality star Rob Kardashian has been struggling for the past two years, but there may be more to the story than just his weight issues.
“Rob is hooked on crystal meth. He’s a drug addict,” a friend tells In Touch.
“His problems started because of his social anxiety,” an insider close to the family reveals. “He began doing drugs to help cope with everything. But now his issues are all magnified.”
To make matters worse, Rob, 28, is refusing to admit hat he needs help. “He’s in pain,” adds the friend. “He’s a total mess.”

I don’t buy this story at all. Perhaps Rob is doing drugs, but meth probably isn’t in the mix. We’ve all seen those dramatic transformations of meth addicts. Rob doesn’t fit that profile. Even though we rarely see Rob, we’ve seen him enough to sense that this story seems really off base. CB and I were talking about this, and she pointed out that it’s probably not a planted story by Kris Jenner. Remember how Kris grew “outraged” when In Touch photoshopped Bruce Jenner in makeup? This story seems like another cheap shot by In Touch. Rob has a lot of problems, but I doubt crystal meth is one of them.

No they most certainly do not. This is coming from someone that lives in the town Dateline dubbed the Meth Capital of the World. Also where the girl was arrested a few montha ago and was wearing an I Love Crystal Meth shirt while trying to sell it at I think the local Waffle House. Sigh.

Hmm, that’s what people said about Rob Ford, the mayor of Toronto and the crack stories. I think that meth users are skinny because they choose meth over food, Both Rob’s had access to enough money that they could afford both food and their drug of choice.
No, meth users are skinny because the drug numbs the senses – you have energy for days and no hunger, no pain, no need to eat, sleep – anything. It’s not an either or situation. I’ve known meth addicts with plenty of money and they all end up the same – very thin & scary looking.
I think Rob Ford was on crack cocaine which is very bad but not quite as destructive as crystal meth.

Artie Lange was hooked on coke and heroin as well but it’s worth noting that coke and heroin are NOT meth. Meth is it’s own uniquely destructive drug-the most unique aspect being that it ravages one’s appearance.
YESSSSS. This must be a total BS story. He is hooked on FOOD, the large amounts of which are fueling and feeding the cycle of depression and self-loathing, which likely has other deep-seated origins.
ITA. I am trying to eat healthier these days and have sworn off things with sugar, flour, caffeine, etc. And I can tell you that it hurts not to have my old bakery store standbys to ease me over life’s little bumps. So I can sympathize with Rob. Enough of the crap food can help you numb feelings that you don’t want to have. So I agree this story is BS. And just when I thought I couldn’t dislike his horrible family any more than I already do.

I once knew a guy who did meth and he was a big guy (was) weighted about 300ibs within 3 months dude got down to 160 and his teeth were nasty! So I agree no way he is doing meth.
There are lots of “before and after” photos of true meth addicts. I have never seen an addict who gained weight.

I’m actually starting to get intensely curious about what’s REALLY going on with him. So many rumors, but ZERO public sightings of the guy. Is he just locked in Khloe’s house and never goes outside?
I don’t buy the crystal meth story either but if it’s some kind of intense drug problem it would make Kim’s “cut him off and let him hit rock bottom” approach make a lot more sense.
It’s not as hard to avoid the paprazzi as some celebs would have us believe. He just has to stay out of major celeb hot beds and maybe wear sunglasses and a hat and he can avoid being seen for some time.
I would think the paparazzi are looking for him though! He hasn’t been photographed in what, a year? I’d expect them to be camped out at Khloe’s house waiting. I dunno, I’m just so shocked that in that family, all we’re getting is rumors. Maybe they’re more protective and supportive of him than is readily apparent.
In Kim’s tough love CB post Kim mentions they hired drivers so he doesn’t have to deal w being seen or paps so I can’t imagine he’d sneak off for that kind of shady drug deal if he’s requesting blacked out windows to take him for normal errands, you know?
Intouch is usually wrong and make things up. the only thing that makes me believe it is that they probably would not print such a serious allegation. then again i think in the US a celeb cant sue for libel or slander.

LDUB, I second sweet Snazzy’s congratulations. My cousin’s daughter got all caught up in meth and now she is in prison. As sad as I am about her prison sentence, I’m hoping it will save her life. You have been very strong and very brave, and I would be very interested to hear any wisdom you may have about how I can support my young friend if you feel like it.

I so dislike the Kardashian Orc clan. I hope the meth thing is just some bs cooked up by ITW, because it is some nasty stuff. I just can’t help but think that Rob is in some attic filled with botox bottles and souls, while Kris tries to force him back on the show, making him go to rehab/weight loss camp, while filming it all. Ugh.
I think he was on drugs but not meth, and that he went into rehab and got out around the time he posted the Gone Girl pic (which I think is just a K TV stunt).
So all the dudes are on drugs? that other ones husband is on drugs too right? And the other ones ex husband was kicked out of his team over drugs too. I see a pattern here.
Scott (Kourtney’s husband) is an alcoholic and that story has been featured on KWUTK a few times. Lamar (Khloe’s ex-husband) was accused of smoking crack and abusing painkillers. I don’t think it caused him to get kicked off a team rather he was doing it in the offseason and teams were turned off by it. He was also at the end of his career so with or without drugs he may have been finished in the NBA.
Actually my first impulse was that Kris planted this story to punish him for not falling back in line. I’d hate to think a mother would do that, but…look how she got them all famous. And what she’s done to almost all the guys who were involved with the daughters (watch your back, Kanye). EDIT – just saw NewWester said the same thing below!
Maybe she didn’t plant this particularly awful story, but she’s certainly perpetuating all the fighting as a storyline on the show.

I feel like he’s not long for this world and the only person who will feel guilt about any of it will be Khloe. The rest will just keep it moving. Maybe Kris will feel it, years later when she’s old and feeble.
I swear Khloe is the only sister (of the 3) even capable of feeling so much as a tinge of compassion. This, more than anything, makes it plausible that she perhaps does have a different father. I remember Khloe saying in a recent interview how much Kim and Kris were alike that they “could be the same person”…kinda gave me the creeps.
I’m sure Kim GOT him some meth, in attempt to be a good sister and help him lose all that gross weight…I think In Touch just got the details a tad confused… 🙂

I actually feel really bad for Rob, he seems so lost and out of place with his own family, it can’t be easy. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s hooked on something, but definitely don’t think it’s meth, he was so close with Lamar and I think they probably bonded over drugs.

I mean – it’s possible, although highly unlikely. It is actually possible to be a heavy meth user (I’ve actually seen them) – but granted, I’ve never encountered an obese meth user – they might be on the heavy side, but obese? Nah. Usually the ones who trend to the heavier side aren’t just using meth. They also seemed to be fans of prescription meds that depress the metabolism and make them eat – so maybe that’s why.
But overall, I have a hard time believing it. Part of me thinks this might be the family trying to distance themselves from him and try to shame him back into behaving. Remember when they floated the stories that Lamar was a crack addict? Easy to believe that Lamar used drugs, but crack? I put nothing past this family to try to shame its members and force compliance. Right now Rob isn’t doing what they want, so who knows what they might try to embarrass him.
Agree, I also think that many people can’t distinguish between use and addiction. Not everyone who uses meth becomes a raging addict. I know lots of responsible hard working tax paying people who use what are considered “hard” drugs (a not very meaningful term) on occasion. I could certainly believe that RK has used meth, maybe on a number of occasions. But there is just no way someone who is obese is a meth ADDICT.
That was my read on Lamar too, someone who, when not working USED drugs, possibly even too much but the idea that he was playing professional basketball whilst being a crack ADDICT was just nonsense.
I think it makes sense that Rob would have a substance abuse issue, but I was thinking more along the lines of booze and pills. Rob has always looked very puffy since his weight gain, and alcohol and pills can do that to a person. I could be wrong but I thought meth heads were generally skinny.
There is no way he’s a meth addict. That stuff takes away your appetite so completely, you even have to force yourself to drink water. More than likely his addiction is to pain killers or pot, those things make you get the munchies. In any case, it’s deplorable what his sisters are doing, just throwing him to the wolves for ratings.
He’s just lost I think being only male in family not very successful in business or personal. Doesn’t help when his family are all attention seekers I don’t understand if kris is so rich anyways she can’t just take some time to help her son. I know someone who is hooked on Meth, who also happens to be very big and overweight. That is her cover. Some people stay big even on Meth. She thinks it is a big secret because of her size. It may be with other people , but I was close enough to know the truth. Of course, take one look in her mouth and she almost has no teeth!

I’m really going to go out on a limb here, but this family is so f-ed up that I wouldn’t put anything, and I mean anything past them. I wouldn’t be surprised if they themselves are keeping him hooked on whatever it is he’s taking just to work new story lines into their pathetic show.
I wouldn’t put it past PMK to put out fake stories about her own son. Kim’s probably still pissed about that Gone Girl pic he put up on instagram about her. PMK doesn’t let anyone talk about her prized possession like that. Also, I bet PMK is begging Rob to go back to their show. She wants the cameras to capture his suffering just for ratings. I would say that most people (in life, in general) don’t have a never ending supply of money to do drugs, so meth becomes their only goal and focus.
Rob could easily afford to keep up a habit of a cocktail of drugs.
I think he may use meth and then pile on the downers but nothing about him screams amphetamine addict to me. Sadly I’ve had a lot of experience with addicts of all sorts and even sadder I’ve watched more KUWTK than I would admit under my real name, he always struck me more a pain pills and booze kind of person and certainly the last photos of him look more like that. He’s been hiding out for a while now though so I guess he could look completely different now. If he starts showing up thin then I’d be more prone to believe it but I’d suspect prescription dexies rather than street meth.
This is one of those no-lose stories.

Of course, that assumes that the Kartrashians didn’t throw the story out there to start with, which they probably did.
Like others above stated, unless he is thinner now than those above pics, method users are skinny! He is addicted pain pills most likely. I could tell in some episodes when he lived with Chloe and Lamar that he looked high on pills. He and Lamar were probably getting high behind Chloe’s back. My brother was addicted to oxy and he was fat!
With the krude K Krew, always look for The Thing they are trying to distract attention away from. They don’t care about Rob, so he’s dispensable. They’ve already tried the fake concern about Rob conversation, the fake phone conversation with Rob on a dead phone. This is just another phase of the same storyline so they can push it without harm to their idiot brand, perfect distraction material that can be turned on and off with a phone call to the right contact. They’ve done the same campaigns against every other guy who doesn’t cooperate 100% with Demon Mother Kris.
Which means Bruce might be keeping Kris in the loop to avoid getting the same treatment, although his storyline might be more than she can handle so she probably has little control over it and that must be infuriating her. Maybe his upcoming interview is The Thing?
Or are people talking too much about the continuing disconnect between Kim and Nori? Lillian Glass posted a series of pics on her body language blog demonstrating the problem in detail, but not with very recent pics so I don’t know when. Glass thinks they need intensive family therapy immediately, so Kim and Kanye can learn how to interact with Nori, stop using her as a prop, and develop a real bond. Glass thinks it might be too late and she is obviously very worried about Nori’s body language with her parents. I think Nori is fine, she reacts normally with other people and it’s just her parents who are the problem (and thank goodness she’s around normal people most of the time). Anyway, it must be bugging the Ks that their Easter pap invasion of the church just continued to show that the kid doesn’t want Kim to hold her.

Most likely addicted to weed. Sad, this guy should drop the weight already. Without doing that, he won’t feel good enough to connect with life outside his house and without that, he’ll never get to escape that abhorrent family of his.
Well I am going call b.s. on this one. Every single person I have ever known to do meth has lost both weight and their teeth. And it seems to happen rather quickly once they are addicted. I don’t see any sores on Rob’s face from the constant picking most addicts do either. I am sure there is something going on with Rob but I doubt meth is his issue.
Eh… Rob being a crystal meth addict is a reach at best. I’m a recovering addict (heroin and benzos, not meth) but I’ve never seen an everyday meth user be this heavy, and if they are they aren’t for long. It’s hard to eat anything let alone enough to make you gain as much weight as Rob has. As far as painkillers (or opiates/opiods) I’ve seen it go either way. Some people lose a lot of weight like I did but others crave sugar and gain weight quite quickly in retrospect.
It’s truly sad that this family can’t do anything privately, out of the cameras view. It’s hard enough being an addict (whether it be food, drugs, etc…) I can’t imagine how hard it must be to deal with it while your family exploits you and openly puts it out there for the whole world to know. Rob obviously doesn’t want the media attention but this sad family will only consider an intervention if it’s televised and they profit off it. Sad really, they care more about saving ratings then they do their own flesh and blood. It’s truly deplorable. Addiction is a family illness in the sense that it affects everyone around the addict, not just the addict, and everyone (if he is addicted to something) should be seeking help in that family, but alas, I’m sure in their eyes they are perfect and he’s the one that’s dysfunctional.
Hopefully he’ll get the help he deserves so he can get healthy, then (hopefully) he will disconnect from the fucked up freakshow he unfortunately refers to as “family”. SMH
