Costume Institute Gala over 100 photos

The Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art held a ball last night to celebrate the opening of an exhibit on British design. Sienna Miller, wearing an awful gold sequined minidress and black tights, served as co-chair for the event.

The star-studded Costume Institute Gala was the opening event for a new exhibition celebrating British design at New York’s prestigious Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The flamboyant show, made up of themed rooms including a Hunt Ball and a Gentleman’s Club, is the latest example of the city’s growing obsession with all things from across the pond.

Celebrities from the UK including Liz Hurley, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell put on their glad rags for the lavish event.

The Americans were represented by A-listers including Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Jessica Parker and Richard Gere.

The British-born editor of American Vogue, Anna Wintour, swept in first.

Miller, who teamed her glittering frock with opaque black tights and wore her hair tied back in a simple ponytail, shared the limelight with Christopher Bailey, the creative director of Burberry.

He and Wintour were the starlet’s fellow co-chairs. The fashion house and Vogue publisher Condé Nast have sponsored the exhibition.

The guy dressed like a cabaret pirate posing with Charlize Theron is Dior designer John Galiano. He's responsible for her monstrosity of an Oscar gown with the giant shoulder bow. Sienna Miller is shown with Christopher Bailey, Burberry's creative director.

We have over 100 pictures from the event. Stars and designers attending include Alexander McQueen, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, John Galliano, Charlize Theron, Lindsay Lohan, Victoria Beckham, Emmy Rossum, Eva Mendes, Gisele Bundchen, Gretchen Mol, Jessica Alba, Josh Hartnett, Lenny Kravitz, Donatella Versace, Rupert Everett, Linda Evangelista and Amber Valetta, Jessica Alba, Marcia Gay Harden, Mary-Kate Olsen, Ashley Olsen, Melania Trump, Donald Trump, Molly Sims, Rosario Dawson, Scarlett Johansson, Stella McCartney, Amanda Peet, Andre Leon Talley, Naomi Campbell, Angela Lindvall, Angie Harmon, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Bridget Moynahan, Tom Brady, Chloe Sevigny, Ciara, Dita Von Teese and Marliyn Manson, Drew Barrymore, Elizabeth Hurley, Erin O'Connor, Matthew Williamson, Eve, Gina Gershon, Ginnifer Goodwin, Ivana Trump, Jacquetta Wheeler, Jason Lewis, Jessica Stam, John Legend, Johnny Rotten, Josh Lucas, Joy Bryant, Julia Stegner, Iselin Steiro, Karolina Kurkova, Lily Cole, Lauren Bush, Lily Donaldson, Gemma Ward, Liv Tyler, Francisco Costa, Lydia Hearst, Mandy Moore, Minnie Driver, Nick Cannon, Petra Nemcova, Rachel Roy, Damon Dash, Ralph Fiennes, Richard Gere, Cary Lowell, Thandie Newton, Selma Blair, Shalom Harlow, Sienna Miller, Christopher Bailey, designer for Burberry, Zooey Deschanel, Sophie Dahl, Ivanka Trump, Mark Ruffalo, Taye Diggs, Idima Menzel, and Sarah Wynter.

Sarah Jessica Parker hates Hollywood

Sarah Jessica Parker has slammed Hollywood for making movies for dumb teen audiences:

Sarah Jessica Parker has attacked Hollywood, claiming studios only make movies for 16 year-olds. The actress accuses the system of pandering to teenagers "wanting to see movies for knuckleheads."

She says, "I remember when adults went to movies. Until about five years ago there were always adult films, and they made their money back. It wasn't such a risk. So I feel I have to compete against audience's tastes."

Parker, your last film was totally panned as insipid and predictable, and the one before that wasn't too much better. It's not like you're making thoughtful art films so who are you to complain about the industry that made you rich? Maybe you're trying to make excuses for starring in terrible films. You're starting to sound like Gwyneth Paltrow and should zip it.

Here's Parker with her husband, Matthew Broderick at "The American Theatre Wing's Annual Spring Gala Honoring Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane," on April 10th and at the Fragrance FIFI awards on April 3rd. Maybe Dr. Ruth can help her mend her lousy relationship with some old fashioned loving.

Sarah Jessica Parker's feet are deformed

Sarah Jessica Parker, 41, had to have her feet digitally enhanced for her terrible film "Failure to Launch" because years of wearing heels has left them hideously deformed:
"Forcing her feet into stilettos every day has punished Sarah's feet," an indiscreet source claims.

"Unfortunately Sarah Jessica Parker has lots of protruding veins which weren't very nice so we did our best to hide them."

Sarah herself isn't faring too well either, as evidenced by these candids taken on Friday in New York. No offense to her three year-old son, James.

Parker recently ruled out a Sex and the City reunion, and may have ruled out her marriage to Matthew Broderick as well.

Sarah Jessica Parker's marriage is doomed

Sarah Jessica Parker headshot with the caption: you're too good for me. Now get out.
Sarah Jessica Parker thinks her husband can do better. She recently said that she fears she's "holding him back." Isn't that what people say when they need an excuse to leave?:

Parker is quoted recently as expressing regrets over marrying... Broderick because she thinks she's "holding him back" from someone better suited for a man "in his prime".

Parker says, "I feel bad that he's not on the market... I feel like I'm holding him back in certain ways. I love him so much."

"He's just getting to his prime and I'm holding him back...

"Every now and then I see him with a woman and she's really smart and beautiful and I'm like, 'God, they have great chemistry. They'd be great together.'"

So she's sick of him, she thinks he's cheating, or she's cheating and wants an excuse. Either way, there's something wrong with their marriage.

Parker, 40, and Broderick, 43, have been together since 1992 and have been married for 9 years. They have a three year-old son, James. In a January, 2005 interview Parker revealed that she works hard on her marriage, and that she does practically everything for Broderick:

“Matthew is a master at making himself appear a bit downtrodden and in need of help. He knows exactly how to get people to do everything for him. And the brilliant thing about it is that his charm is so pervasive that he pulls it off so effortlessly that you never realise he's secretly manipulating you to buy the groceries, answer his mail, make dinner reservations and get his dry-cleaning. He doesn't even bother to try to hail a cab when we're out on the town together. He just assumes I'll be out there in the middle of traffic waving frantically for a cab! And he pretends to be so lovably innocent that you can't even get annoyed with him. He just gives you this blissful smile and you're hooked!”

It sounds like Parker is sick of waiting on Broderick hand and foot for 14 years and wants out.

"Failure to Launch" after party photos

Matthew McConaughey and Salma Hayek at the Failure to Launch after party
Matthew McConaughey was said to be wearing a gold band on his left ring finger in his Wednesday morning appearance on "Live with Regis and Kelly." This comes after speculation that his girlfriend of a year, Penelope Cruz, is pregnant. McConaughey wore a ring on his right hand to the "Failure to Launch" premiere. Life and Style reported that McConaughy was sporting a wedding ring a week ago, but they used a horizontally flipped photo to prove it.

Salma Hayek showed up at the "Failure to Launch" after party in New York last night. She looks gorgeous as always. We just wish Penelope could have made it.

Three more after the jump.

Failure to Launch NY premiere pictures

Headshot of Matthew McConaughy with the caption I'm so hot I can carry any crappy film
The "Failure to Launch" New York Premiere was held last night at the Clearview Chelsea West Theatre in New York City. Initial buzz on the film is unfortunately negative, but there is a scene in which Terry Bradshaw, who plays Matthew McConaughy's father, bares his 57 year-old butt. We've already seen Kathy Bates semi-naked in "About Schmidt" and welcome the chance to see Bradshaw's assets too.

Pictures from the movie are available in an earlier post.

Sixteen more pictures after the jump.

Photos of Matthew McConaughey in Failure to Launch

Failure to Launch will be in theatres March 10. It really looks like it's going to suck and the title could be prophetic, but I might watch it on DVD. The plot is genius. Here's the synopsis from the official movie site (which I had to transcribe and can't link properly because it's all Flash - what poor usability):

Tripp (Matthew McConaughey) has never been able to leave the nest. He's always had some reason or other, but now, his desperate parents have had enough. They hire the gorgeous and talented girl of his dreams (Sarah Jessica Parker) to get him to move out of the house

And they thought SJP was right for this role because...(?)
Failure also features Kathy Bates, Terry Bradshaw, and Bradley Cooper.

Update: Matt didn't have much to say when asked about his co-star SJP, and it's easy to infer from his comments that he didn't get along with her. Sarah blew off the suggestion that there were any problems on set.
