Family of John Graziano files suit against the Bollea/Hogans

The family of permanently disabled John Graziano, the now comatose passenger in Nick Bollea’s car accident last year, has finally filed suit against Nick and his parents. The civil suit names Nick, Linda and Terry Bollea (aka Hulk Hogan) as co-defendants, as well as the man who was street racing against Nick in the minutes leading up to the wreck that left Graziano, 22, in a permanent vegetative state.

Clearwater, Florida - The attorney for John Graziano’s family announced details of a 6-count complaint civil lawsuit filed in Pinellas County on Monday.

The lawsuit cites three counts of negligence against Terry Bollea (Hulk Hogan and Nick’s father), one against Linda Bollea (Nick’s mother), one against Nick Bollea, and a final count against Daniel Jacobs, the driver of the Dodge Viper that Nick was racing.

The Graziano family is claiming in the lawsuit that Terry and Linda Bollea should have known that their son was a reckless driver, and were also aware that their son was drinking on the day of the crash.

Hogan’s son, Nick Bollea, was allegedly speeding when Clearwater police say he lost control of his car and crashed last summer. Graziano was a passenger in the car and suffered serious head wounds. Graziano’s family says he will require medical care for the rest of his life.

Bollea faces a felony charge of reckless driving with serious bodily injury.

[From Tampa Bay News 10]

If you recall, Nick and his parents went on the offensive in the weeks after the horrific crash, deflecting blame instead of owning up to their roles in this young man’s injury, stating that if John had been wearing a seat belt he would have been fine, even though the photos of the car after the crash suggest otherwise. It looks like John’s family will finally get their day in court after all. This will be one in a long line of court appearances for Nick, who was arrested in the days after the crash on three charges, including third degree felony reckless driving.

  1. Just one word… Finally!!!

  2. Whatever. Graziano is just as much responsible for what happened to him as Hogan’s kid is. He was a 22 year old adult who got into a car with a 17 year old kid knowing his favorite pasttime was street racing. Forget whether or not Graziano was wearing a seatbelt, he should have never got into the car. This accident was waiting to happen and everyone who knew who Nick Bollea was knew it.

Not even us gossips were surprised when we heard about the accident and I’m supposed to believe Graziano would have been?

They are both liable and the most the Hogans should have to pay, despite the fact that I despise them all, is half of Graziano’s medical care.

  3. At last, we will see some justice out of this.

  4. The Bollea family may have known about Nick’s fast driving and racing, but as a parent did the other family not know who was driving the car their son, without being held at gunpoint, got into and that their son had a penchant for failing to fasten his seat belt? Or did they just not care because, after all, the son was out with the son of a celebrity? Money grubbers. Equal fault on both sides.

  5. These are shallow, ignorant people. The truth always comes out and this family’s true colors are being shown to the world.

My heart goes out to the John Grazino and his family. I can’t even fathom what they are going through. I lost my son, Jon in a high speed DUI accident. He passed over immediately; his best friend was driving the car. There were five boys in the car. And my son was the only fatality. There was anger at first towards the driver, and he did prison time. At the time the DA said “well lets see how sorry he is when he gets out.” He was sorry, and he told my other son that a day doesn’t go by that he doesn’t think of Jon. I have talked with him several times, his remorse is real. He was responsible for his best friend’s death and he has to live with that.

So though I know of my loss and the pain and the repercussions to our family, I can’t even imagine what the Graziano family is going through having their son there, but not really there. Not only are they having to live with the knowledge that their precious son is never going to be the same. They have to deal with a “family” that seems to have no conscious at all.

Nick is blubbering about not having a window aww and being all by his self? Poor baby. The idiot can still walk, talk and has all his functions….well maybe not his mind, but it looks like he never had that! But at least it has given him time to think. Mind you not any inner soul searching BUT trying to set up reality show…where he can make the most money off of this tragedy! I’ve got a title for his new reality show, Nick the Devil in Disguise and His Evil Family

Linda crying that she is the victim, that she is missing her son? What the hell does she know about missing a son, for God’s sake she is talking to him. She can see, touch and hug him and have him respond. He will be out in eight months. The Graziano family is sentenced to a life time. and she is the victim? And going on about the victim’s family wanting money? Let me tell you something that I’m not sure you will understand Linda. All the money in the world will not replace what they have lost!

And to you Hulk Hogan, who was a hero to my sons when they were small. Blaming the victim that he must have done something wrong? And by the way Hulk Hogan….please tell me what my son did wrong to die? Going to school to be a firefighter? Wanting to eventually going into animation? Not crying to his father, who has several Emmy’s about getting him his own show? Maybe instead of getting a reality show Nick should be sent to the front lines in Iraq and see how positive he is when he comes back!!

  7. I don’t agree with all the suing that goes on these days, but in this particular case it may be exactly what needs to be done. The Bollea’s obviously only care about money. If we can’t get justice through their conscious to care about what happened to John Gaziano and his condition, then going after the only thing they care about may be the right answer-their “precious” money. It may sound wrong, but it isn’t. (Besides they need to pay for Gazianos medical care anyways at the very least)

  11. As a mom myself…. a MAN of 22? As a parent you can’t tell your child at 22 no you can’t ride with this person.. you have to hope you raised them with enough common sense to not get into a situation like this! You know he knew all about Nick he knew that Nick liked to race and all he was probably loving every minute of it! I mean come on he knew him to well and he probably loved it! I hate that this happened but he was a grwon man making his own choices his family should be mad at HIM for making these decisons yes Nick should have to face the music in this and get his punishment to make him realize he was wrong but I hate that it took THIS to make him realize he had to grow up and change… but I also think him having to live the rest of his life knowing he did this to his best friend and him never being able to have his best friend again the way it used to be is a BIG punishment! I feel for both of these families.. and yes I agree it is always about the money!

  12. Charlene after reading your story…. I see your point…… I would be angry too….. I still agree with what I said but what you said yeah I agree with that too… because Nick was raised diffrent and spoiled … you know we see all these celebs they don’t get in trouble for what they do untill its too late…. but really if it was our child they would be sent straight to jail teh first time.. whcih is what should happen it shouldnt be letting them off over and over again untill they kill someone.. i mean look at what Lindsey Lohan did? and paris adn Nicole …. maybe their parents should be punished with them and maybe it wouldn’t be all about them them THEM!
