These are some photos from Chris Pine’s November pictorial for Details Magazine. CoverAwards already pointed out that Chris is styled a lot like Zac Efron was for his Details cover shoot. Very similar sort of rip-the-sleeves out, I wish I was James Dean blah blah blah stuff. You know what Jon Hamm did for his Details cover shoot? He got wet. He was in a pool fully clothed. Because Jon Hamm is too good for this cheesy James Dean styling. And since this is all we have – because Details released the photos a full week before they released any excerpts from the interview, we can only judge Chris on these photos.
Anyway, I don’t really care for Chris Pine, so maybe that has something to do with how cheesy I find these photos. I prefer Chris Evans – Pine’s contemporary, who just seems to be a nicer guy and a more considerate person. If Lainey at LaineyGossip is to be believed (which I think she is), Pine has been a bit of a diva on the set of This Means War, with Tom Hardy and Reese Witherspoon. You never hear stories about Evans being a diva. Because he’s probably not. Also: Pine dated Audrina Patridge. Ugh.
But, anyway… I know some enjoy him. So here you go.
I think he’s probably promoting his new film Unstoppable with Denzel Washington… the one in which they both look really surly and over it.

Trying way to hard and I don’t know why. He’s supposed to be the next big thing (as in talented actor) so I think he’s going the wrong way trying to be the big sexy beast. It’s true with men as well as women – if people see you as a sex symbol they’re likely to downplay your actual acting ability.

Wouldn’t the theme of the photo shoot be up to the photog? James Dean is never cheesy, CP’s lookin’ fine and the pics are good, and sexy.

I LOVE Pine (and Evans!! Both are pretty underrated actors). I love his gorgeous eyes, I love the chuckles he does, I think he’s one of them who can act. I don’t care if he’s a total bitch in real life, but damn, I’d love to hit that!!

Like the pics, no doubt, but I do love some Chris Evans! I mean “Didja ever see a dream walkin, well I did!” That Evans is wet dream worthy! Pine, I just don’t know enough about, but I hope he takes a Chris Evans class or something!

All of those poses except for the one in the car, are super feminine! Some people are naturally sexy without trying (like my late hubby MJ), and some are not.

Chris Pine is ok as a young Kirk in the Star Trek alt-universe prequel, but as much as I love my Star Trek, it doesn’t take a whole lot of talent to mimic William Shatner.

I don’t like men who do sexy poses, purse their lips when taken a pic, or have a colgate smile or show their muscles on every magazine interview.

Hot as hell. I’d hit that every way I could. I don’t think he was a diva when working with Reese, because there are photos out of the two of them laughing and talking, and she seems Type A and hardcore about her work, and I don’t think she’d be friendly with someone who was being a diva.
Also, I don’t think celebs have much control over the clothes and poses in photoshoots, so, if anything, blame the mag and photographer.

He is not trying too hard. He does whatever the photographers want him to do. that aside, he’s gorgeous!!
the only turn off is he tries to sound all intellectual, and then he just wants to date starlets and C or D listers or basically women who throw their bodies out in public. So that’s the turn off. I think he can really act, but he did a horrible job back in CSI. so he definitely came a LONG way and I wouldn’t be surprised if he got an oscar somewhere down the line. But, however, I think as famous as he is, his roles are limited to playing the hard masculine hot dued in the movies. He’s not at the age where he’s a popular pick for drama.
