God, I feel tired just looking at Scarlett Johansson in these photos. She was in Madrid to promote Mango, the co-sponsor of the Spanish Fashion Awards, because she’s the corpsey face of the Mango label and has been for a couple of years. I usually hate her Mango ads because they tend to de-emphasize what is pretty about ScarJo, and leave her looking like some grey, frozen corpse, which I personally don’t find attractive, and I don’t think it helps sell clothes. So the idea was already in my head: ScarJo + Mango = Corpsey. So it’s not shocking when she shows up at this event looking like hell.
Hell for ScarJo, obviously. Not the “hell” in which normal people often look like. She just looks exhausted, and this haircut – once considered cute – if kind of offensive in its badness now. It just looks like a stringy mess. ScarJo looks totally out of it too. Like she needs a nap. Shocking, because that’s normally how I feel when I look at her. She’s so… over-hyped.
I think I’ve mentioned in other posts that I recently saw Iron Man 2, but I don’t think I’ve discussed my thoughts on ScarJo. Um… was anyone else expecting something completely different from her role? The way her part was being promoted and all of the hype around it, I thought she was going to have a major role, and she just didn’t. She was just there until her big fight scene, and that was completely boring too, just boring in a different way. Ugh. I’m kind of over ScarJo.

I think she looks cute but her facial expressions read exhausted. I guess she is tired but I think she is adorable. I have the hugest crush on her.
I’d put the exhausted look down to weird eye makeup.

Her skin is glowing. Her lips are pink and juicy. Her eye make-up looks great. I don’t get the corpsey comments at all. The dress and necklace are hideous but she actually looks really pretty here. Why can’t I get my skin to look like that?!? Dammit!
She looks a LOT thinner. I prefer my sturdier scarjo.

I put it down to bad eye make-up and those shoes – seriously she looks like her feet hurt. She’s normally smokin’ hot though.
I don’t know about corpsey, but if she’s exhausted or didn’t get enough sleep, then she’d likely have a cold and be open-mouthed a lot. Yea, I don’t particularly like the eye make-up. In fact, the make up in general. Does MANGO make make-up?
Anyway, I think her hair is nice. Everyone is doing this kind of ombre colour this season, and she’s doing it on short hair which makes it different from the rest. If it wasn’t a little tousled like that it won’t look stringy but it probably would look really thin and without any body either.

I’ve always had a problem with Scarlett’s forehead, or should I say threehead. I think she has beautiful features but I find low foreheads like hers to be extremely unattractive. I think her threehead was one of the reasons she seemed so unconvincing to me in that multilingual genius role she played in Iron Man II.
Intellectually, I know that those with threeheads aren’t necessarily dumber than the rest of us–and that for all I know Scarlett may be a Mensa member in real life — but to me they look dumber.
I’m not the only one that thinks this either; after all they used Neil Patrick Harris who has an obvious fivehead to play boy genius, Doogy Hauser.
I love her entire look with the exception of the garish necklace.

I saw Iron Man 2 last week and I *was* underwhelmed by her character as well as Mickey Rourke’s. They were both so hyped that I went in with really high expectations for both their characters and was disappointed.
Looks like they actually want Taylor Swift, no? and yet ScarJo is so much prettier.
She looks great, just a little thin and a little tired. Like she needs a nap and a sandwich. Otherwise, she’s beautiful as per usual.
I think her acting talent is waaay overrated, and I think her looks are overrated too. And her performance in Iron Man was terrible! Anyone coulda done the part better than her! I didn’t see the fight scene because I totally fell asleep halfway through that mess.
Great hair and really bad makeup. That black liner on the inside of her lids makes her look squinty.

HATE THE SHOES…there is no excuse for a young starlet to wear grandma heels…sorry just a pet peeve of mine….she doesn’t look her best, but everyone is entitled to off days…even people with styling teams…can you imagine all the jet lag and busy promotional schedules….I do think she has lost a little too much weight, but whatever makes her happy.

I’ve noticed that she hasn’t been looking as good as she used to (not just at this event, and not “bad” just not as good as she used to) & she’s lost a lot of weight. Also, while she seemed to have potential acting-wise, I don’t think lately she’s been living up to that potential. It all makes me wonder what is going on with her.
But, meh, I’m not that concerned. I’m over her too.

I am not a huge fan either, I dont think she’s a great actress. I usually do not rush out to see her in movies. I only see her when she happens to b in a movie I want to see.
She is cute, always has been. But I agree that she looks tired, it doesn’t have to do with the makeup and the clothes maybe she is just tired.
I’m kind of over her, too. When I first started seeing her in movies I thought she was the next great thing. Then I saw a few more and realized she’s the same in every movie. Cute, but has limited acting range. More than being tired, she looks totally baked here, IMO.

Not impressed at all just another wannabee trying to cash in a little extra and play at being a fashionista. The days of celebs setting fashion trends are over; most people don’t even pay attention to this stuff. Oh for the days when actresses acted in great fun films and models – mannequins as they were called – did this stuff. THis girl is way overrated – besides in my book you are not beautiful if you need/have plastic enhancements – you are just another boring plastic starlet of which there are plenty in hollyyawn.
Your write up and thoughts about ScarJo are spot on Kaiser. That is exactly how I feel about her- she is totally over-hyped. And her role in Iron Man 2 was completely redundant and yes, incredibly boring.

Definitely overrated. As hard as Woody Allen tried to make her a mega star, I just don’t think she had the talent to go there. I think she and Ryan Reynolds are both very pretty, but boring as hell. And that haircut is hideous- it’s as if some la-de-da high end stylist proclaimed it chic and everyone’s laughing behind her back.

I do not understand this star-let. She is pretty, but not stunning. She can act, but not that well. She seems utterly devoid of any personality, but is married to a hottie; but they are rarely seen together. Is she relying totally on the mystery angle?
If the Mango Professional look is to look high, she nailed it. Usually you have to pay to get that look, and she is actually getting paid to look stoned. How lucky can a girl get?

I agree about how she looks in these photos. And I just plain didn’t enjoy anything about Iron Man 2 except RDJ with his shirt off. But I just watched The Other Boleyn Girl and I watched Girl With a Pearl Earring a couple weeks ago, and I really like ScarJo in both of them.
