I’ve decided that my long-term financial plan is to either be famous or marry someone famous, and then pop out as many kids as I can so I can sell their photos to OK! and In Touch for a couple million each. I won’t act or sing or anything once I have the kids. I’ll just use childbirth as a way to make a lot of money. Sure my plan is fraught with holes, but I think it’s still the most solid thing I’ve come up with in months. And considering how much money celebs are raking in for their newborns, why wouldn’t this be a good idea?
Matthew McConaughey’s lil’ bundle of joy will be making Matt a big bundle of jack.
Our spies tell us OK! mag will shell out $3 mil for the first pics of young Levi, who was just born Monday night. And that’s not all — we’re told that the deal includes baby’s first Christmas as well.
We also hear OK! gets first right to the pics of the wedding if Matt and Cam get married — though they’ll have to pay extra for those snaps.
[From TMZ]
OK! also had the exclusive first comments from Matthew about Levi’s birth, along with an explanation of the baby’s name.
Pre-selling baby’s first Christmas is pretty masterful. Doesn’t that sound like a cute ornament to put on the tree? There can be the traditional carriage ornament for baby’s first big holiday, and then another one shaped like a dollar bill that says “Baby’s First $500,000 in the bank.” How sweet. TMZ doesn’t make any mention of what Matt and longtime girlfriend Camila Alves plan on doing with the cash. Hopefully they’ll either donate it to a charity or put it away for baby Levi.
I’m still wondering what celebs like Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Richie, and Christina Aguilera did with their hefty baby photo millions. Unlike a lot of other celebs, I haven’t heard any mention of the money going to good deeds, which makes me think it’s probably going into luxury real estate or handbags.

I think it is stupid for this magazines to spent so much money on a B-list actor, hate to say it but he and his kid are not worth it and I am sure others feel the same too.

HOUSTON ASTROS/LOS ANGELES DODGERS! Come on now!

Yeah, $3 mill is WAY over-priced. When was the last time Matt had a hit movie? Didn’t Fool’s Gold crash and burn?
And judging from the Lopez/Anthony People photo spread, I’d say a big chunk of the money is going to pristine white chairs, mirrored tables, and chandeliers. Because that stuff is so baby-friendly.

Meanwhile schools go unfunded, military vets can’t get decent medical care (esp psych), etc. etc.
Matthew McConaughy has an illegitimate child —- $3 MILLION!!!
-
IMO, any money made off of baby photos should be placed in a trust in that child’s name. After all, it’s the kids money as these magazines, etc. are paying for their image. This ensure a child’s future should either parent financially screw up.
If parents are so into donating to charity - then they should donate their own money, not the money made off of their kids image.

i gotta say i find it INSANELY irksome that people are all “use your own money to donate to charity!” It IS there money! They were PAID for this. It’s not the child’s money- it’s the person(parent) who worked on the deals money, although i do agree, it should be put aside for the child’s future. i just don’t get why people treat this kind of earning differently then money they’d make off a movie or a product endorsement.

Levi McConaughey is such a cute sounding name.
It would also make a good cartoon character …much like his Dad. -
Matthew McConaughey: i want 3 million for my baby’s pictures.
Editor: How about this instead; I get the pictures for free and in exchange I don’t jump this desk and beat some sense into that thick pretentious skull of yours.
Enough is enough !! Quit paying, they’ll quit asking for these outrageous amounts.
-
they pay all that much, ´cuz even an “illegitimate child” (thats so last century btw), SELL! It sells, it sells, and you people buy it, you read stories about it, and make comments about it, and it SELLS!
Now what the media has to do with military vets, schools or whatsoever?
FOR CRYINNG OUT LOUD!
That´s the epitome of ignorance! -
Wow! I hear ya… well, hey, more power to him if people are willing to pay that, which clearly they are… as supported by people buying the magazine.
I’m in the planning process for getting pregnant, but I don’t think I’ll be offered that coin for pics of my baby. Oh well… I’ll have to find another way to make my millions - haha
