Lindsay Lohan wanted for Dancing with The Stars

Kate Gosselin’s turn on Dancing with The Stars boosted ratings to the point where the show occasionally bested American Idol. (At a low point for Idol, but still.) Producers know that controversial figures drive ratings, and they’ve (allegedly) got their sights on one of the most controversial people out there – Lindsay Lohan. According to Radar Online, Lindsay is wanted for the dance show and she’s considering it. This story is much too positive towards Lindsay and sounds straight from Dina. I’ll bet it’s one of her delusions. (Remember that Dina claims to have been a Rockette, which was quickly exposed as a lie. She would love to see her completely sober daughter on DWTS.)

“Dancing with the Stars producers have had Lindsay on their wish list of castmates for a very long time,” a source with knowledge of the situation told RadarOnline.com. When asked about the news, a rep for the show said they do not comment on casting.

Though Lohan’s dubious history has been a sticking point for the show in the past, her current stay at the Betty Ford Center is producing positive results which have caught people’s attention.

“The producers were concerned about her erratic behavior, but they are taking another look at asking her to come on for the next season because she is doing so well at her sober living facility,” the source added. “The producers are aware that she would be available because she isn’t going to be filming Inferno.”

The source added that the ABC show would showcase Lindsay’s lesser known talents: “The girl can dance. Lindsay is wicked talented.”

Despite the allure of the hit reality show, the source stressed that Lindsay’s future will depend on what is best for her ongoing sobriety. “Lindsay won’t be making any decisions about what she chooses for her next project without consulting first with her treatment team,” the source said.

“This wasn’t mandated by the court, her advisors or medical team, but Lindsay has taken that step herself, which is a very, very positive sign.”

One added bonus of the high-profile gig is the money. “It pays very well. Lindsay has very limited income coming in and this could help get her out of the red,” the source said.

[From Radar]

Yes Lindsay is doing so well she’s theoretically considering talking to her “treatment team” (aka remaining hangers on and Dina) about future job opportunities endorsing sketchy companies that believe that the publicity of being associated with Lindsay outweighs the permanent negative taint. She’s done ads for Facebook apps, clothing lines, and photoshoots for magazines in various stages of undress. If this DWTS opportunity pans out and Lindsay has the wherewithal to actually train for it and appear on even the first episode, I’ll be surprised. She’s too entitled and self absorbed to follow through on the most basic requirements, hence her violation of court orders, incarceration, and court-ordered rehab.

Meanwhile Lindsay has inexplicably earned back her right to drive, but officials at the Betty Ford Clinic (which runs the sober house which seems to let her come and go at will) have put the kibosh on that. They say that the paparazzi make it too dangerous for Lindsay to drive. (As if she doesn’t do a good enough job of that on her own.) So in response, Lindsay is of course blaming the paparazzi that she charges for photos, and plans to take out some kind of vague restraining order against all of them. I hope that some of them show phone records to the judge to prove that Lindsay is more than willing to notify them of her whereabouts.

Every person I know who’s gone through a successful rehab, (note: successful) has become so attached to their facility that they NEVER wanted to leave, for any reason. It took months for them to feel safe outside in the real world. I know a woman who did eight weeks at Betty Ford and she never went shopping, or to dinner- there wasn’t any opportunity to have a car on campus either! I don’t see Lohan staying clean for longer than it takes to drive to L.A.

Dancing with the stars? Shit- if they thought Bristol Palin was a circus, wait until Lindsey and white Oprah get on board.

  2. susanne says:

I agree that she wouldn’t be able to keep it together long enough for the show to start…

    I’d watch, though!

  3. susanne says:

How much do you want to bet that lindsay doesn’t go on the show, but one of her parents DOES. Ugh.

    I’d still watch, though!

  4. sandip says:

I think it would be a good thing to restart her career. If she could show up, work hard, start and finish something.

  5. Carrie says:

Let’s remember that while Kate Gosselin’s horrible dancing and bitchy attitude were great for DWTS, it was pretty brutal to Kate’s “career.” I think one of her shows was canceled in production and the other is circling the drain.
If, and this is a big IF, Lilo is really clean and ready to work hard, then showing up every week on DWTS and working her ass off, being charming to her partner, acting grateful and reflective in her interviews, could be a great career move. People like a success story- if she really seems to be better, and she hits the right humble/chastised notes, then it might just restart some type of career for her. If she can’t do this completely, it will be the final nail in her career.

  6. Obvious says:

tsk tsk Carrie. Kate was just on the Today show saying she was not cancelled. why don’t you believe the words coming out of her mouth??? (more like lies spewing but still…)

I’d like to see LiLo get better and be able to compete on DWTS. However, I’d also like a million dollars and life time of supply of cheesecake-it ain’t going to happen sadly.

  7. Nudgie says:

I think Dina should go on instead – it will finally give her the “Rockette” moment she’s lied about and will give us much needed belly laughs!

  8. Bodhi says:

I would totally watch every bit of that silly show again if LL was on it!

  9. KJ says:

    PLEASE GOD YES

  10. bellaluna says:

No. Just. No. I’ve never watched this show, and this wouldn’t make me start.

I don’t buy it. Blohan doesn’t have the wear-with-all to handle DWTS. She can barely handle shopping.

  11. chasingadalia says:

I feel bad for the poor unfortunate souls living with Lindsay. Like rehab isn’t hard enough.

  12. ElizabethM says:

If Lindsay truly commits to it then the experience would be terrific for her. It requires a lot of discipline and that’s something she needs to learn (both in general as well as a way to maintaining sobriety/drug free existence).

Heck, if she really gets into it and works hard, she could win. Bonus to it: I think she would have fun.

As for the alleged restraining order, she should take one out on her parents. Forget the paps, it’s her parents that cause her trouble!

  13. Feebee says:

It might be good for Lindsay and her career. She’d need a partner that didn’t take her crap but I wouldn’t wish her on Maks or Tony (actually Tony should be immune from bad partners for life after getting Kate Gosselin). Derek’s due for a pain in the arse partner.

I can totally see Dina doing it. I’m surprised Dina’s promoting Lindsay doing it, it’s like she’s admitting Lindsay’s not A list anymore.

  14. LindyLou says:

I would totally watch DWTS if LL was on it. It would be hilarious to watch the little crack-tard make a fool of herself.

  15. Innocent says:

I personally can’t see Lindsay doing this and as for Lindsay’s recovery and sobriety then we will see what her behavior is like outside of rehab.

    Performing the Argentine Crackhead Tango…

  17. prell says:

am I the only one who feels relieved to see her looking like she is not strung out and lost? I am rooting for her. I know she is all kindsa crazy and entitled, but she suffers for that more than anyone. I am just glad that as of now it does not look like she will drop dead any day. It was scary there for a while.

  18. Praise St. Angie! says:

“but she suffers for that more than anyone”

that is, of course, if you don’t count the people she’s stolen from, the time/money wasted by studios when she doesn’t (didn’t) show up for calls, the people she car-jacked, the people she chased down during said car-jacking, and the baby she clipped in her Maserati.

    oh, and her little sister.

  19. The_Porscha says:

I would bet that in Lindsay’s head she still thinks she’s too “big” of a star to be on DWTS. The show, while entertaining, is usually home to waning, rising, or b- or c-list stars, and I’d put money on the fact that LL thinks she’s A-list (despite mountains of evidence to the contrary). Delusion is this entire family’s middle name.

  20. Whamo says:

I think if she stays off the drugs she can work this whole rehab thing to her advantage. People love to see someone rise, crash and burn and then make a comeback. While she’s no Meryl Streep I truly think she is talented and I think if given the right role she’d supprise quite a few people as to how good she really can be. I’m not a huge fan but I can’t really hate on her for some reason.

  21. KateNonymous says:

    Cannot…stop…myself…

    “Tripping With The Stars.”

But this is something I see Dina doing.

  22. Ron says:

I would normally not recommend this show to a decent star. But in her circumstances, it would give the public/industry a chance to see her committed to a project and doing well and I think it would help her right now. Lindsay is really a talented girl and I hope she gets it together this time.

  23. Camille says:

@Whamo and Ron: Ditto to all of it.

  24. tripmom says:

I have never watched this show before but I would TOTALLY watch if she was on. I’ve never seen someone wear 16 pounds of sequins while they pretend to NOT be on crack.

  25. Maritza says:

I would love to see Lindsay on DWTS paired with Maks, that would be awesome! He has such a bad temper and she would give him hell but in spite of everything she could become a great dancer.

  26. dorothy says:

Jeez…do they dust have a death wish for that show? It’s bad enough as it is. Put Lindsay on it and show will tank for sure.

  27. Trippin says:

Go away freckle puss, we’re over you!!!
