These are photos from earlier this month, on the New York set of New Year’s Eve, the follow-up to Valentine’s Day. It’s an ensemble romantic comedy, and Sofia Vergara and Katherine Heigl both have parts in it (Heigl got the part meant for Halle Berry). Sofia and Katherine were put together as friends or coworkers within the film, and I believe they’ve already shot most of their scenes. Which brings me to one of the funnier tabloid stories this week – according to Star Magazine‘s insider, “Katherine’s always complaining about having to stand outside in the cold for long periods of time, and Sofia can’t stand her whining. Finally, Sofia told her to be grateful that she has the role in the first place.” Ha! After Sofia told Dame Heigl to STFU, the insider claims that Dame Heigl and Sofia just started ignoring each other. Now, it just feels like this is true, right? It reinforces what we know of the two women – Sofia is easy-going and happy to have found a niche in Hollywood, and Dame Heigl is an ungrateful snot who bitches and moans about every little thing. Unfortunately, Gossip Cop is raining on my bitch-fight parade:

The tab claims co-stars Sofia Vergara and Katherine Heigl are “ignoring each other on set.”
The reason?
A Star “insider” says, “Katherine’s always complaining about having to stand outside in the cold for long periods of time, and Sofia can’t stand her whining… Finally, Sofia told her to be grateful that she has the role in the first place. That clearly didn’t go over well.”
Unfortunately, Star’s dish is even colder than the temperature on the film’s New York set.A source close to Vergara assures Gossip Cop the feud is “not true.” And a production source notes Vergara and Heigl worked together only ONE day – and that was two weeks ago.
We’re also told the two women got along great.

So, who to believe? Star Magazine’s insider with his delicious story of Dame Heigl living up to her a–hole hype, or Gossip Cop’s source who claims that the whole thing is false? I tend to believe that Sofia and Dame Heigl probably didn’t get along all that well, but that both of them managed to be professional throughout their one day of filming.

I beleive there were war of words(hell yes), bitchfight – not so much. Otherwise, there would have been pictures of Heigl bruised and tattered bitchiness posted somewhere already.
Gossip Cop is publicists’ voice. Their founder is also the marketing chief behind the Twilight franchise.
They confirm and deny those stories that suit the stars’ interests.

Kaiser, I’m amazed that the word “bangs trauma” wasn’t inserted into this article somewhere! Although I know that they are clip-on bangs for the role, but still, bangs are bangs and apparently they are traumatic!

I second what Insider said. I hate GossipCop. Most of the stories are “so and sos publicist says it’s not true” so we’re supposed to believe the publicists!! Like publicists NEVER lie! Please.

Love Sofia. She does have that i’m so happy just to have a job and laid back vibe about her while we know Heigl is a brat. I dont know whether to believe this or not but I can see it happening. Bangs are not a good look on my girl though

There has been enough out there about what an epic bitch Heigl is that I doubt she was professional on set. Didn’t New York Mag say something like none of her leading actors would agree to work with her ever again?

I’m so glad we have them out there to ferret out the real truth amidst the pack of lies that is the Internets!
Even if the site wasn’t a front for the industry, their admitted approach to getting the “facts” strains credulity. Yes, I’m sure that Sofia’s people would have no problem confirming it for some random blogger if it were the truth. “Yes indeedy, you’ve got it right, by jove! That Heigl is a royal pain the butt, and Sofia told her where to stick it!”
When would the answer EVER be different, for any star, if their truth-seeking is just a call to the publicist? Sheesh. Woodward and Bernstein they are not.
Sorry but it stinks to me of all this Heigl hate that goes around. Heigl is always 100% professional on set. Heck even Seth Rogen who slammed her for her post Knocked Up comments said she was fantastic to work with. The press just look for things to hit her with and 99% of it is just completely untrue. The ladies got on just great and even posted a picture of themselves together via Twitter. Sorry but this just the endless Heigl hate wagon (which this site also perpetuates). Honestly she gets more abuse for absolutely nothing than anyone I can think of. There is this label that she is some sort of diva but it is the most ridiculous thing ever. Dont take my word for it, or some rag mag either. Go check out the comments and interviews with her co-stars. You wont find any with a bad word. Dont buy a word of this crap.

@ Rick – It was documented that on the set of The Killers, that Dame Heigl wouldn’t even run on the set for the scenes that required her to run.
So whatever reputation that Heigl has earned, it’s one she earned fair and square.
I happen to work @ a major retail store and have met Sofia on more then one occasion. She is very conceited. When asked by employee’s if she needs any help she waves you off without as much as even making eye contact. It’s truly a shame.
