I have been utterly bewildered by everybody’s super-strong opinions about Renee Zellweger’s trip to Milan this week. Renee flew to Italy to promote a new Tommy Hilfiger purse, the proceeds of which go to a breast cancer charity. Renee did a day-time press-pool photo op event earlier this week, and then did an evening red carpet event, both times clad in relatively cute Hilfiger clothes. When I thought Renee’s makeup is funky (the red coat photos), you yelled at me and said she looked great. When I thought Renee looked pretty good in her little green cocktail dress, a lot of you yelled at me and screamed that she looked like hell. I don’t get it. Truly. Renee’s face isn’t looking so jacked lately, but her makeup and styling is still very hit-or-miss. That being said, I honestly don’t think she looks as emaciated as she used to – she’s thin and muscular, and her collarbone looks painful, but I think she looks healthier than she has in a while.
Anyway, these are some new images of Renee – they are ads and promotional images she’s done for this Hilfiger charity bag. According to The Mail, Renee actually collaborated with Hilfiger to design the bag, which is retailing at $425 and is made from brown, natural, vegetable-tanned leather suede. $140 from each bag will go to the Fund for Living, with is an association to support women battling cancer and to also help cover their day to day expenses. Renee said: “This is one of the best things about this initiative, and I love that Tommy Hilfiger has supported it for five years. It’s very real, very direct, helping women in their personal struggles, buying a wig or allowing them to hire a babysitter or to take a taxi when they don’t feel like they can ride the bus.” You can read more about Renee’s involvement here.

It’s ironic that they Photoshopped her legs more than her face. This is the one time I am in favor of Photoshop because in the ads, her legs look great: thin and toned but not sinewy. Too thin loses for once.

I’ve had a girl crush on her since Empire Records. I think she is so underrated. I heart her. I almost had to bust her kneecaps where she was dating my man Bradley, but since they’ve broken up I am ok with her again 😉
I don’t have any complaints about the ads….probably could have done without her bare feet, but she looked good. She needs things that soften her up.

I always found her somehow disturbing. I recently understood what it is. She is totally insecure. The way she smiles (doesn’t smile), she poses, she talks, everything…she really tries hard, but she is always so unnatural and visibly uncomfortable. I feel uneasy for her…

That weird ‘scrunched’ facial expression just makes her look deranged, or like someone who suffered a seizure at some point.
I’m torn about Renee Zellweger… while I think they should use more “normal” looking people in fashion and entertainment, she’s just not attractive. At all. Why is she always so squinty and puckery? Just… ugh.

Her weird, lemon-suck smile, too bony. Also, ever notice how in many pics she tries to “look up” to the camera…as if she was a shy little girl? She’s a grown up for God’s sake. Not my type.
Since some of the money is going to charity I’ll give it a partial pass – but I’m of the old school actors/actresses should act film/theatre, singers/musicians should sing and models should be used to sell product. I’m underwhelmed by the photography that’s the best they could come up with?

Too funny! His minions are disgusting, too. I once temped at one of his stores in Beverly Hills and they made the temp workers buy pants to work there (even if it was only for a few days). Only $10 but still it was about one hours pay. When I said that I wasn’t going to do that, the C*nt queen who worked in retail but had major attitude (such as a delusional sense of grandiose self) “dismissed” me.

I think she looks really beautiful in the TH ads and absolutely STUNNING in the emerald green dress.
It looks like there is one thing that came out of the end of her relationship with Bradley and that is the return of the glamorous Renee.
Let’s hope she holds steady where she is now (weight and body-type) because this is the best she’s looked in years.

The photoshoot was well done.
I think she’s super cute and I like her, she seems like a really decent person. She is a bit too thin but she’s got the kind of face that would show any weight gain (I can sympathize) so she probably stays thin partly due to that.
Aside from the fact that Renee would probably fit nicely into that bag, I think she looks great in the b/w photos – they soften up her angles a little. Color photos tend to point up in stark relief how pale and thin she is and she always ends up looking a little worse for wear in them.
And I do love that bag!
Here’s the thing, I eat. I love to eat. I just eat things that are healthy and in moderation. I have the same body type as Renee Z(however you spell her last name) and I have more people comment and say things like “eat a burger” or “do you call those sticks legs” and it sucks. Would you tell a person that is overweight to put down that soda and fries? It must suck even more for celebs…if she was a little thick, she would be slammed every time she ate a burger. Make up your mind about what is acceptable please…
I like the first photo but not the second. Why is it that bare feet are supposedly sexy, especially when paired with a big old fluffy dress. I think her toes look gross.
Here’s my beef. These Cause-Related marketing programs — where a consumer must BUY something in order for the charity to receive something…isn’t as effective as people donating their individual funds to their chosen charity. I’m sick of charity as a “reason ” to spend too much money on “fashion” items. The fashion world needs to grab a club and reform itself.

That’s quite a profit he is making off of this “charity bag”. As far as I know, no one buys his ugly,uncomfortable, wrongly cut clothes anymore, I haven’t seen his name stamped all over the place, promoting himself, that is how he became famous isn’t it. Talk about an ego about nothing.
She looks fine here, but it is her smirk/”demure” smile that REALLY annoys me. Almost as ridic as Katie Holmes’ half-smirk. If she actually had a normal smile I would like her better.

The photos look pretty. But it’s a bit ridiculous that TH co. keeps $285 from every bag. You can’t tell me it cost that much to make. It’s nice that some is going to the charity, but still.
I’ve never really understood the appeal of his stuff, it always seems very generic and simple, just with his label sewn on to jack up the price.
I agree with #2, I like that green dress, but she just doesn’t look comfortable in it.
The bag is fug (although nice that some of the profits will go to a charity) and I don’t think much of the ads either. She does look pretty, but her posing and smirky facial expressions are not good.
She looks good, and is incredibly talented. Her face has character, a highly under-rated quality. And I love the bag, can’t afford to pay half my mortgage on a bag but love it all the same.

Wow!These shots look really great.I think Renee gets a lot of unfair comment all round.The lightness of the sitting down photo along with the flowing dress give her a dreamlike almost ethereal quality.Her legs look toned and fine.She does seem to have a penchant for barefoot photo shoots,and maybe she will be buried without shoes?,but she has a sweetness that makes bare feet come across as cute.The overall look is sassy and sexy.
