Yesterday afternoon, I emailed this story to CB, asking her if I should cover it. We were both wishy-washy on it, because our perspective on Lea Michele is totally skewed. In the history of Lea Michele’s (perceived and actual) bitchiness, this story just seemed… meh. But I’m doing it, I suppose, because everybody likes talking about Lea’s latest incident of bitchiness. Here’s the story, via E! News:
A few Glee stars ditched New Directions this weekend and hit Coachella in the desert to watch other people sing for once. Lea Michele, Chord Overstreet and Harry Shum Jr. all checked out the concerts together from the VIP area Saturday, where one of them was trying to go incognito.
“Harry introduced himself to two girls as Jerry from San Luis Obispo and said he was unemployed,” an eyewitness reports. “The girls played along even though they knew who he was.”
But when one girl jokingly called “Jerry” over to sit with them later, Lea couldn’t resist making fun of her…
“Lea started laughing and imitated her in a high-pitched voice,” the onlooker said. “She was totally mocking her for no reason.”
Lea was all smiles later while hanging at the Lacoste and HTC pool party on Sunday, where Katy Perry, Kellan Lutz and Alexander Skarsgård were also spotted.
Chord and Harry ditched Lea later and caught up with another Gleek at the Armani Exchange Neon Carnival Saturday night. They hit the late night bash with Mark Salling.

So, Lea was trying to be a snot, but she ended up looking like she wasn’t really in on the joke, right? And who thinks that this is just Lea’s normal behavior whenever people don’t pay enough attention to her? That’s what Lea reminds me of: a needy child who acts out to get attention. She was probably truly offended that Harry Shum and Chord weren’t both trying to get into her pants.
By the way, on Twitter yesterday, I asked who you guys would rather smack, Lea or Kristen Stewart. The only rule is that you can only smack one of them, and you have to leave the other unscathed. Although I definitely think both have earned it, I would choose K-Stew, mid-eye-roll.

Why is everyone focusing on Lea and no one is calling out Harry Shum for lying to those girls? And honestly what Lea did just sounds like something most people have done at some point. Can you honestly say you or your friends have never imitated a girl or guy who was acting like a ditz? I’m not a fan of Glee or Lea Michele, but I do think people are often much too hard on her.

I’d smack Lea, she’s so pretentious and up herself it’s sickening. Kirsten’s just really awkward, and the video of her dodging the kiss from Rob wasn’t mean at all! She didn’t even eyeroll the paparazzi. She just didn’t want to kiss him while 100 paparazzos snapped fotos of them. If I were in her shoes I’d do exactly the same thing, I’d hide from all those flashbulbs!

I’d smack Lea. I’ve never detested a celebrity, like I detest her. K-Stew may seem immature, but I think shes very intelligent and doesn’t beg for attention. I don’t think she would ever pick on a fan either. At the worst, she would give an eye-roll, bite her lip, and walk away. Even though she definitely needs to work on her public image, I think I would get along with her jaded disposition before I ever shared anything in common with Princess Lea. I just want her career to plummet, so we can start seeing her obnoxious, rat face on Lifetime.

Lea. A thousand times that pretentious, rude, jerk. As for Kristen, I really don’t think she eye-rolled. She looked embarrassed and Sparkles looked like he thought it was funny. I don’t get the Kstew hate, really. She’s a young, awkward girl, who has admitted to being very socially awkward. I get that. (And no, I’m not a Kstew fan…have never seen anything she’s been in.)

I am a K-Stew fan (sue me), so I really like this poll b/c it brings things into perceptive about the hate people generate towards her, when compared to this snot.
Kristen is overall harmless, so cut the chick some slack in her awkwardness that may not translate well in pictures/videos.
Lea is just mean, has a history of being completely self-absorbed and entitled. She really dug herself a grave, and wont be around for as long as Kristen will.

Stories like this are always out of context. You can tease or mock someone without being ‘nasty’ sometimes its part of an ongoing joke and sometimes peoples attempts at humour just fall flat. Situations like this always look different to an observer. She could have been targeting it towards ‘Jerry’ or it could of been the girls – at the end of the day shes not beating up people/crashing cars/taking drugs that we know of. She just appears to have a personality that isn’t all sugar and puppies.

Sounds like she has a crush on Harry and got jealous of the girls.
Maybe the other girl was really pretty and she felt threatened.
Or maybe she was jealous that Harry had adoring fans and maybe that didn’t sit well with her Diva-o-meter.
Whatever the case, if it’s true then that was a really immature and rude thing to do. That girl might have been her fan too. She should remember that she’s only a high schooler on TV and in real life she’s in her mid-20s.

Harry or “Jerry” is the real loser in this story to me. Maybe Lea was mocking harry but it came off as mocking the girls. I think shes a brat but I think it was directed more at the guy for lying to the girls. Like she was trying to call him out.

This is all I’ve seen of her acting. Wouldn’t watch one of those vampire flix unless someone paid me–not after the belly-turning experience of Duty-Reading Bk 1 cause my tween nieces were into it.
BUT… Considering that my personal idea of Hell is having total strangers imagining they KNOW me? Am biased. Stewart was so freaking young when she did the 1st movie. Dedicated pros finally learn, but it takes years if ever (hi, M Rourke!), to work a PoS script like it’s Shakespeare & fulfill obligations for promo w/o getting sick.
Even worse, Summit–w/the media in general–spin those kids like tops to sell tickets/DVDs/whatever… Wow. At that age, if serious about acting but shackled to *years* of PoS scripts, + millions of vapid fans who think they own my private life? My late-teen/early 20s ‘tude would’ve blown hers out of the water. Um, so… no slap til she escapes the Twilite Zone.
That other chick tho–ok; she has one seriously smug, ego-swollen face–but never seen her show & can’t imagine it being worth the energy to smack her. If she is what she seems, it will *all* come back to bite her soon enough.
