Bristol Palin heckled after enjoying a fantastic mechanical bull ride

wenn3324078

There’s a new Bristol Palin controversy. It involves a 47-year-old heckler, tragedy, flip-flops, alcohol, West Hollywood, ignorance, a mechanical bull, and the words “whore,” “devil” and “homosexual”. Basically, it was just like Bristol was back in Wasilla. Before I start in on Bristol and this situation, can I just admit something? I’ve never had the chance to ride a mechanical bull, and seeing this bull’s moves… well, I kind of want to now. It looks like a lot of fun. This bull didn’t “buck” as much as other mechanical bulls that I’ve seen. This one just looks like he’s doing fun things to a lady’s vagina. No wonder Bristol is giving the bull that insane, high-pitched, screech-laugh. She’s feeling something she’s never felt before (and that’s a burn on Levi Johnston, not Bristol).

Here’s the video (NSFW language and bull-ridin’)

So as Bristol falls off the bull, she kind of lays there for a second in a post-orgasmic bliss (because, you know, that bull was magic!) and then this dude yells, “Your mother’s a WHORE!” Bristol smiles and makes eye-contact with the heckler, and gives him a little finger action (as in “come here”). Then Bristol makes her way past the dude that she leaves hanging for a orgasm-victory high five, and goes over to the heckler. This is the conversation, lovingly transcribed by Michael K:

Bristol: What did you say?
Palin Hater: Your mother’s a whore. She’s the f–king devil, dude.
Bristol: Oh, is she? What did she do wrong?
PH: She lives, she breathes. If there is a hell, she will be there.
Bristol: Why is that?
PH: She’s evil.
Bristol: Is it because you’re a homosexual?
PH: Pretty much. And why do you say I’m a homosexual?
Bristol: Because I can just tell you are. And that’s why you don’t like my mom.
PH: No, that’s not why. Your mom is evil.
Bristol’s backup: How old are you?
PH: FORTY SEVEN YEARS OLD!!!!!!!!
Bristol’s backup: Okay, then leave her alone.
PH: Why? She came up to me.
Bristol’s backup: You said it first!

There’s more, but I didn’t feel like transcribing it. A couple of points.

1. Bristol is surprisingly filled with rage after her bull-orgasm. Usually, I just get sleepy afterwards.
2. Bristol’s gaydar is finely tuned. “Don’t like my mom” = GAY. Amazing.

  1. Alice says:

What is she, a teenage boy? Only teenage boys are stupid enough to use ‘YOU’RE GAY’ as an insult. I’m not gay, and I hate Sarah Palin anyway because she’s a retarded cowardly pile of scum who tried to get herself a payday for hunting wolves out of a helicopter.

  2. natalie says:

well, she comes from a family of homophobes.

  3. Leticia says:

    oh no.

  4. Dibba says:

She’s nasty. Looks gross. I’d turn gay if I were a guy around her.

  5. sassy says:

there were no victor’s in this exchange. they were both stupid.

  6. bros says:

what an awful idiot dry humping a bull in her cross sweatshirt. just like her mom, she takes the bait every time! these mean girls can never ignore anything. they love love love getting into it with people and can never just be classy and walk away. take your posse of losers and leave the stupid bar you’re in bristol, with your new immobile plastic face.

  7. Lithe says:

The heckler shouldn’t have called her mom that name, but I’m embarrassed for Bristol that she thought that a homophobic retort was an appropriate response. Not very enlightened, that one. And how fake does she look?

  8. Jo says:

I read on another site that supposedly this was for her reality show. Are you kidding me? She really is a low life beyotch who should be home minding her baby and not hanging out in bars riding mechanical bulls and acting like she’s all that. She got what she deserved. Trash hanging out in bars attracts more trash. Plus, she’s not even old enough to be in a bar.

  9. Lenna says:

I’m no fan of Bristol or her mom, but I thought she handled that fairly well. She tried to get a reasonable answer from the guy regarding his hate for her mom and he really couldn’t give her one, except she’s evil….I hope my daughter could handle herself in a siutation where she was being heckled for her parentage.

  10. i.want.shoes says:

I liked the “did you ride Levi like that?” that somebody yelled out.

    The girl’s a dumb twat.

@Lenna: seriously? I would be mortified if the only arguments my child could come up with are homophobic ones.

  11. the original bellaluna says:

    She’s a fame-whoring asshole. Her mom is a fame-whoring asshole. I really don’t have anything else…

(But yeah, it’s not that hard to ride a mechanical bull.)

  12. Tiffany says:

If you go out in Hollywood with a camera crew to get attention, don’t be surprised when you DO get attention, even if it is negative.

Secondly, I was indifferent about Bristol for a long time since it isn’t her fault her Mom is an ignorant liar. However, it is become really clear that Bristol herself is a homophobe. Why would she jump to the conclusion this person was gay? Many straight people dont like her Mom. Being gay has nothing to do with it.

  13. Turtle Dove says:

    The “Gays” = 1

    Bristol = 0

Can you imagine this family was once a few short steps from the White House? (shudders)

Glad this man gave the self serving, sense of entitlement Palin and her bitchy minions a piece of his mind.

  14. Really says:

She handled this well, more than I expected from her. She defended her mom and made the guy look like an idiot. I’m not Palin fan, but the guy was being a jerk to shout BS with no real explanation aside from him “hating her mom”. Loser.

  15. Tiffany says:

“I thought she handled that fairly well”

Ummm, she called him gay because he didn’t like her Mom. You think that is handling it well? The best option would be to ignore him all together, but that doesn’t make for good reality tv, right?

  16. MorticiansDoItDeader says:

Maybe his speech and mannerisms indicated he was gay and she was asking if he hated her mom because he’s gay and her mom doesn’t support gay marriage? I can’t watch the video at work, but that would be a legit reason to bring up his sexual orientation. HOWEVER, it she was using it as an insult that is disgusting and she deserves to be ridiculed.

  17. Lenna says:

I don’t think assuming someones gay because they act/look gay is homophobic…I mean, he was gay wasn’t he? What I meant by she handled it well was only referring to her tone and the fact that she didn’t cry, stamp her feet, etc…obviously it would have been the better thing to walk away..but the 47 year old calling out her mom as a whore should know better too. Gay or straight

  18. Iggles says:

I agree you Tiffany! I was gonna call Lenna out, but you beat me to it.

How is responding with homophobic remarks a “good” response? Clearly debate skills is something she’s lacking. But she’s just a 19 year old “kid” so it’s alright? 🙄

  19. Rachel says:

I don’t like her mom, either. Shame that makes me gay, though. My husband will be disappointed.

  20. Lenna says:

Again…you’re all missing the point. a 47 year old grown man called her mother a whore…he’s lucky he didn’t get slapped. If she had said, why do you hate her, cuz you’re a vegetarian? Would that be an insult to peta? She did nothing wrong except make an accurate assumption based on a myriad of things that she is seeing, that perhaps we don’t. We make assumptions all day long in our lives..we just don’t have a camera in our faces.

  21. The Bobster says:

How is responding with homophobic remarks a “good” response?

    ______

Maybe it’s tantamount to calling someone a racist or homophobe when you’re losing a argument with him. It’s used to shut down all further debate so you don’t have to slink away with your tail between your legs.

  22. fancyamazon says:

I absolutely despise Sarah Palin, and have no use much for her daughter, but I have to say that I think she did well also. Someone bad-mouthed her mother and she let him know that she wasn’t going to just ignore it. As for the homophobic stuff, well, maybe she had mor visual info than what we can see in the video, because he promptly confirms that he is indeed a homosexual. There is no way of knowing that she would have come up with that with every person who bad-mouthed her kin or not.

  23. lucy2 says:

Agree with sassy, no winners here.
That guy was an ass. I can’t stand Palin, but I can’t imagine screaming that at one of her family members.
Bristol of course took the bait (professional victim is the family business), and then went right to GAY?! Not good either.
Totally agree she’s asking for the attention, but probably can’t imagine that it’s not all going to be nice.

Given that this was filmed for her reality show, I’m half wondering if the whole thing was staged, and will be played as her “being strong and sticking up for her family”.

  24. serena says:

Her new face gives me the creeps. Just look at her son who has her same old face.. it’s frightening.

  25. jover says:

Just a word of caution – there are just as many people that “hate” Obama so maybe turn down the rhetoric – I dislike Palin’s politics but she’s no worse than Jesse Jackson in the media whoring department and there are plenty of books that reveal the real Jesse – name calling from both sides is really childish no one likes it when the tea party hurls crude insults at obama; the palin family just needs to disappear, this family is so boring and useless i honestly can’t even work up anything like hate toward any of these yahoos; that would give them way too much credit.

  26. Jessica says:

Is that Beyonce in the back there at the bar in the orange shirt and hat???????? LOL

  27. Quest says:

Bristol should have lit a ciggy and enjoy the aftermath by just ignoring the dude, she is so petty and likes to play into these verbal fights. Just STFU bitch!

  28. Jaded says:

You know what? The guy is clearly loaded and probably mildly deranged. The dignified response to his comment would have been to just ignore him, not march over and get all up in his face. But she’s a chip off the old block and as much of a grandstander as her mother, ergo she had to create a huge televised event out of it. The Palins are a national embarrassment.

  29. gee says:

Idiots fighting idiots. No winner, just losers everywhere.

  30. Laurie M. says:

I don’t understand all the incessant extreme hatred toward Bristol. Both this heckler and Bristol said inappropriate and offensive things, why focus only on her response?

  31. Lucy says:

okay ladies, where is your outrage that this idiot 47 year old man can use the words whore and bitch and you only get outraged because bristol said gay…I am not for any palin…but I would love to see my sisters come down on people who use slurs against women as much as they would if someone used the “n” word or gay or any other slur…WOMEN SHOULD BE OUTRAGED!!!

  32. Lucy says:

@jaded….so if someone called your mother a whore and a bitch, you would just ignore it…riiiiight…

  33. marie says:

    this looks entirely staged.

  34. Crystalline says:

Both are stupid. Pretty much it, neither should’ve said a thing. Making either one out to be a saint is ridiculous because they both knowingly used derogatory language.

My question is, why is she in a bar? She doesn’t turn 21 for a month.

  35. jay says:

I can’t stand this family and yet I was with her on the outrage at him calling her mother those names..it was beyond the pale and cheap. BUT, her response to antagonism or opposition is to hit with the “gay” comments. She and her siblings have done so before, it’s documented, and it seems in their minds it’s an appropriate response: oh, you’re gay so you MUST hate us for that; too bad. Just don’t be gay and it’s all good!. That’s the moronic thinking these people espouse. She could have responded with something OTHER than a borderline homophobic statement, called him out on being an asshole, which gay or straight can be. He definitely was one in this instance, although her mother’s stance and apparently her own on gays no doubt swayed his vehemence. He is at fault for the bullshit he lobbed but she is also at fault for her own bigotry and stupidity.

Can these people PLEASE just jump that small gap they look across and just move to Russia already???

  36. Laurie M. says:

@Crystalline – it appears she is at the Saddle Ranch on Sunset Blvd here in Los Angeles. That place is a well known restaurant, as well as a bar. I would guess that “after hours” only bar patrons age 21 and older are allowed. Before that time, under 21 can eat at their tables and ride the bull.

  37. SueAnn says:

He is an IDIOT! Bristol is protecting her mom. I am sick of this gay hate crime crap! What about hate crimes against white christian people! They happen all the time!!!!!

  38. fabgrrl says:

Why is anyone listening to these idiots? Bristol and the heckler, both idiots.

  39. fabgrrl says:

@SueAnn: Bwahahaha!! that is the funniest thing I have heard all day. Yeah, those poor, oppressed, white christians. Hehehe, good stuff. Keep up the jokes :^)

  40. Kloops says:

Both were idiots and neither made a valid point. Double fail.

I do not understand why she would allow herself to be filmned riding a bull like that. Looked like she should be having some “private time”.

  41. SueAnn says:

    Team Bristol….

  42. missie says:

It is being widely reported that this was completely staged for her show. She didn’t handle anything “well”….she just followed the script.
I have no idea who will watch this garbage.

  43. Dot says:

Sarah Palin is a lot of things and almost all of them are negative, but if ‘whore’ was the best that guy could come up with then I’m not in his misogynistic corner either. And what is heckling her daughter going to do? Manners are an indicator of dignity, and neither of them showed themselves as having much of it.

Oh, eww, it was scripted? Gross.

  44. Jaded says:

@ Lucy – well my mother is 89 and frail so I doubt anyone would call her anything other than a sweet little old lady 🙂 However I actually would ignore the dude because he’s clearly drunk enough and or nutty enough to be dangerously aggressive, and I’m confident enough that my mother is wonderful and I really don’t need to sink to his level to prove it.

@ Jay – I agree, the homophobic slur was utterly unforgivable and the family clearly has homophobic issues. Good post.

  45. missie says:

Not just staged but “bafflingly contrived” is how her show has been described by various websites.

  46. the original bellaluna says:

    Assholes. All of them.

  47. bros says:

how anyone can feel bad for her when she is out riding bulls for her reality show is beyond me. when you put yourself out there as a public figure, and she is, riding her mom’s politics to fame, you get what you get. and yes I know her mom isnt her, but she consistently fights her mom’s battles from bitching at teachers in homer alaska who speak out against her to drunk dudes in bars. if you dont want to be yelled at for what a skank your mom is, dont ride her coattails to fame.

  48. Shannon says:

The Christian Right is full of homophobes? I’m shocked! Shocked I tell you!

For the people defending Bristol because the guy “looked” gay – you can’t very well say the guy was in the wrong either, because Sarah Palin apparently was into one night stands when she was a sports reporter. If Bristol gets to call the guy gay, then the guy gets to call her mom a whore.

Or we can be grown ups and admit that they were both acting like idiots and said unproductive, mean things to each other. This is symptomatic of the current polarized society we live in. Why debate actual policy when you can just use a slur to insult people you disagree with?

  49. Sandy says:

Wait who is this piece of trash?? Just what I thought a nobody. Isn’t her 15 mintues gone by now. I know other minors that had babies out of wedlock and they aren’t pieces of crap like her.

  50. Erinn says:

    @Shannon

Most intelligent thing I’ve seen on this board yet! 🙂

  51. irishserra says:

I’m definitely no fan of the Palin family, including Bristol. However, she didn’t say “You’re Gay” as an insult. She made an assumption when she asked the man the question, “Is it because you’re gay?” a very ignorant-minded thing to say, although in this case, she happened to be correct about his sexual orientation. She should have just walked away. She should understand by now that the general public are morons who will attack anyone whose politics and beliefs do not coincide with their own.

As for the man… I think it was completely inappropriate to yell such tacky things in public to some young girl about her mother. Why did he feel that was necessary? It only made him sound like a common… well… a cur.

Two morons passing in the night…neither could shut up and pass quietly.

  52. jane16 says:

A 47 “year old” should be mature enough to not heckle a teenager. If he had any maturity, or even a sliver of class, he would have kept his trap shut. She’s a dumb kid, but he’s a middle aged man for godsake. No excuse for him. If he hates her mother so much, then go on her website or something and tell her so. Attacking someones kid is really below the belt.

  53. jane16 says:

My husband & I frequent about 4 different clubs here in so cal. We go for the music & they often have some of the greats playing. If anyone shrieked “whore” at someone else like this clown did, at the clubs we go to, they would be booted out immediately.

  54. NYer says:

She was just riding a mechanical bull, he decided to make it personal because he has beef with her MOM. Real nice.

That said, the whole exchange was pathetic. And Bristol looks like Snooki now with her new face.

  55. Maggie May says:

@Shannon … you said what I was thinking much better then I could have!

  56. Tiffany says:

    Well said Shannon!

  57. dahlia1947 says:

Theyre both idiots. Towards the end it looked like she was mocking him and thats when his friend jumped in. A totally useless moment.

  58. Sloane Wyatt says:

I can’t stand Sarah Palin because of her politics and because she doesn’t read much. That being said, this heckler guy was a real ass for calling Palin a whore; slut shaming language like this is completely unacceptable and misogynistic. He should have stuck with ‘Your mom’s a quitter.’ and the like.

I get where Bristol was going with her comeback because her mom is infamous for her stance against equal rights for the LBGT community, so she’s probably used to push back from those she’s trying to disenfranchise. I just wish Bristol didn’t have a history of name calling someone ‘gay’. So tacky and bigoted.

  59. Jules says:

Team no one. They were both assholes. When is this useless family going to go away?

  60. Katija says:

To put it in a way that even a fifth grader would understand – Don’t talk shit ’bout someone’s mama, dude. And it is sort of pathetic that he couldn’t give one specific example of why she was “evil.” Sorry, but Bristol was right. And I think when she asked if he was homosexual, she was going to go somewhere with it, and give the standard, “Well, gays should actually support my mother because…” script that all GOP personalities have on file.

  61. JaneWonderfalls says:

I’m going to comment that I have no comment and state what Lewis Black said “I treat the Palin family like their allusions because if I accepted the fact that they are real I would shoot myself in the face”

  62. Christy says:

So let me get this straight..All of us girls go out at least once in our lives and have some fun and I would hope most of us don’t have our mother’s called “whores” not matter the views. It sickens me to think that most of the women on here thinks it’s ok for some jerk to call her mom a “whore” but god forbid she mentions he is gay..which he is. She has every right to defend and love her mom and those who think otherwise need some help.

  63. Christy says:

And I do ask like Bristol did why call her mom a “whore”? Is it just because of political views because I have never heard of Palin being “whorish”. No it’s just because you so called peace loving libs just don’t like her so you think it’s ok for a 47 year old man to call a girls mom names. I wonder how the majority of you would feel if someone called Michelle Obama that in front of her girls…wouldn’t be right now would it no matter your political views.

  64. K says:

Mechanical bulls are tons of fun. After the ride, you have your pick of the guys for your second. In case the bull wasn’t enough.

  65. jay says:

Christy, she didn’t “mention” he was gay…like saying “oh, by the way, it’s warm here.”. No, she proceeded to tell him she knew because she could tell. Really? I guess she has a framework all set for that, whether it’s supposed particular attitude, looks, voice, or his obvious dislike of her Mother. Please. What she did was bad in it’s own way; she knows she used the phraseology for a reason. She was ready to be dismissive of his thoughts because he was gay because OF COURSE (sarcasm) he wouldn’t like her mother and besides, gays are not the same as “they” are. She had ample ammo to be dismissive of him just based on the assholishness of his words..they were uncalled for and crude…there was no need to throw in the gay commentary. But, again, that’s how the Palins roll.

Sorry it offends you that some feel she was just as offensive as him; he gets no love from me for being a moron and rude…it was over the line. But neither does she….

  66. crtb says:

So let me get this straight..All of us girls go out at least once in our lives and have some fun and I would hope most of us don’t have our mother’s called “whores” not matter the views. It sickens me to think that most of the women on here thinks it’s ok for some jerk to call her mom a “whore” but god forbid she mentions he is gay..which he is. She has every right to defend and love her mom and those who think otherwise need some help.

I didn’t read one comment that said that. I read that everyone thought the guy was out of line. But many people thought that Bristol could have handled the situation better by not sinking to his level by name calling.

  67. wresa says:

So, everyone else saw how she tried to bait him into making a “death threat” by asking “You want her DEAD?” right?

I can’t believe anyone would take Sarah Palin’s side. She represses the rights of millions of gay people, spreads hate and shame and humiliation every time she opens her mouth. And if Bristol wants to ride on her mom’s coattails, she is complicit and has to deal with the consequences.

She got called a “whore” at the bar? Honey, haven’t we all? She’s the one who confronted him over it so she could roll over and play victim again.

A more intelligent person would have come up with a witty retort, either to him or to others to make him look like an even bigger asshole. But she’s an uneducated hick who runs into a confrontation with nothing to say. And it would have been easy to make this guy look like an asshole.

Oh and is she drunk? The best part about the Palin’s hate-mongering is that they are the biggest hypocrites in America. We’ll see more of that if this divorce rumor ends up being true.

    F#$@ this self-righteous family.

  68. Kim says:

TEAM BRISTOL! I dont even love Sarah Palin but Im offended by this guy. What grown man calls a woman a whore?! A drunk loser!

Bristol took the high rode here. A man called her mother a whore and she goes up to have a civil conversation with him and he is so stupid he cant give her 1 valid reason why her mother is “evil.” Bristol was being nice to the guy and giving him a chance to make his point but he couldnt provide 1 fact. She was sticking up for her mom – who wouldnt do that if someone attacked their mother & called them a whore!

Its obvious the reason he hates her mother is because he is gay. A monkey could see this.

Bristol doesnt bag on him for being gay its just obvious to everyone that is his issue w her mom.

Any grown man calling a girl a whore is classless regardless of their sexuality. He is drunk and an idiot.

My gay bestie just watched this and is offended by this guy.

Celebitchy why would you side w a drunken, verbally abusive fool?

  69. Riana says:

You didn’t want to write the rest of the transcript because it didn’t work for your bias, because when he demanded why she thought he was homosexual she replied.

“Because you’re here with your boyfriend, he’s sitting right next to you.” which he was.

I hate Palin and am liberal but I’m thoroughly grossed out people are cheering a drunk, adult 47 yr old man who hurled insults about someone’s mother via screaming she’s a whore at her child.

Homophobia’s terrible but sexism? Oh that’s some great stuff. Go us women…ugh.

I don’t give a crap who you are and what your beef is, saying that is worthy of an ass kicking and I’m guessing that moron would have been much quieter if Bristol was a man but hey…nothing wrong with being physically and verbally threatening to a young girl when you hate her Mom’s politics.

  70. snapnhiss says:

Oh my god, that chin! It doesn’t look too bad from the front but in profile, it hangs about an inch lower than the rest of her jaw. Her plastic surgeon should be investigated for malpractice. That’s a shame too, I thought she was really pretty before.

  71. Amy says:

(I’m neither anti-homosexual nor pro-Palin. And the fact that Bristol has found or gained celebrity status makes me kind of sick.)

But I thought she handled herself pretty well. That guy was a total douche!!! He was completely out of line.

I’m with MorticiansDoItDeader — I didn’t think “homosexual” was used as a school yard insult so much as the guy probably actually seemed gay. And he admitted himself that the fact that he was a homosexual was “pretty much” the reason he wanted Sarah Palin dead.

  72. ERM says:

He should’ve directed his comments to Bristol which would have been a little more truthful. This entire family is repulsive but what the hell is a 47 year old even bothering ….

  73. Ajanni says:

    She has ugly feet.

  74. april says:

    @irishserra: I totally agree.

  75. The Other Katherine says:

Well, nobody looks good in this.

(Extra points if you know which TV show I’m thinking of.)

  76. irishserra says:

@TheOtherKatherine: Ooooh! Ooooh! I know this one! Only from one of the all-time greatest shows EVER!!! Arrested Development after Gob and Michael fight!!

  77. Bec says:

Ugh. I think Sarah Palin IS evil but the way he used the word whore in this context is really scary and also sad to me. He used it about a woman in the same way that white people have historically used the N word against a person because of their race. Call Sarah Palin evil or the devil but don’t make it about her gender.

  78. Venus says:

First, Bristol didn’t use a gay slur — she said “homosexual” — that isn’t a gay slur & the fact that people are saying she used a gay slur makes me weep for the reading comprehension skills in this country.
Second, a 47 year old man yelling out about someone’s mom (regardless of whatever you think of Sarah Palin) a WHORE is way, way worse than anything Bristol said. Anyone who doesn’t “get” that is beyond help.
Third, this place — the Saddle Ranch Chop House — isn’t a bar. It’s a restaurant with a bar in it & before “late night” anyone can go in, eat & ride the bull.
Finally, I know for a fact that many of the people who are outraged at Bristol’s daring to judge a person’s sexuality based on looks have called Michelle Bachmann’s husband “gay.” It works both ways.

  79. Green_Eyes says:

@Jaded lol…yes a dignified response is the best course of action in situations…but almost choked on my cheerios laughinrg hon..being a straight dignified non homophobic married woman.. It never occurred to me to have anyone w/ the name Palin and dignified in a sentence. I just don’t see it.. But I understand what you mean.. However some people will always show no class.. Guess the “Countess” (use that term w/ a cringe) was right.. Money can’t buy you class.

  80. Wingnut says:

What kind of a older guy goes around and picks fights with 20 year old girls anyways?? Where’s the moral outrage about the way he acted? I’m not a Sarah Palin fan either, but this guy was nasty and way out of line and everyone is sending him a message that kind kind of behavior towards women is acceptable.

  81. Mitch Buchanan Rocks says:

I’m just waiting for the headline Sarah Palin caught with Stephen Harper in an igloo!

  82. Mary jones says:

Go back to wasillia bristol. Your backwards homophobic views aren’t welcome in LA. Go guy who gave her a piece of his mind!

  83. Liamarie says:

You don’t call someone’s mom a whore (unless, of course, that was her actual profession). Best thing to do would have been to simply say “and you’re an asshole,” and ignore him. He’ll make a big enough fool of himself on his own.

  84. MK says:

@Venus: totally agree. “are you homosexual?” is not a homophobic slur. It is a question with perhaps some underlying homophobic assumptions (depending on context). I didn’t watch the video, so assuming the transcript is accurate, the outrage re her homophobia is a bit disproportionate.

I wouldn’t describe her response as classy, per se, but I think the heckler looks like a much bigger asshole than she does.

  85. matt says:

“Bristol: Oh, is she? What did she do wrong?
PH: She lives, she breathes. If there is a hell, she will be there.
    Bristol: Why is that?
    PH: She’s evil.
Bristol: Is it because you’re a homosexual?
PH: Pretty much. And why do you say I’m a homosexual?”

Her homophobic policies? And only after the daughter brought it up? Come on man, there’s so much to work with: http://www.realchange.org/palin.htm

  86. Callumna says:

Let me get this straight. Turn the tables for one second.

If someone yelled to Malia Obama “Your mother is a WHORE.”

–Would this be called heckling? Or a nasty rant against the child of a politician? Also, it isn’t a nobody doing the yelling.

Secondly, who the hell thinks it’s an insult to be asked and answer affirmatively that you’re homosexual?

She’s not attacking, he is. How blinded are you by politics that you can’t see that’s wrong and would try to cheapen the whole thing by mocking and deriding her bull riding too. Cheap attack after a live cheap attack with something that would not be funny if the attack were racial instead of sexual and the recipient were a Democrat.

You’re trying to add a little, “The daughter is a bull riding WHORE too!”

Seems that’s the gist of the “humor.”

    — But fascinating that you’re not mentioning that the “heckler” is a 47 year old known entertainment industry veteran who should be acting professionally instead of yelling the whore word at a kid.

Sorry, this also happened to Chelsea Clinton and the pigs doing this stuff are excused or ignored for things that are intolerable. Some bloggers (not all people thankfully) on the Left are too accepting of garbage hurled at female politicians. Also, in MY experience African American conservatives get treated in a manner not acceptable to African Americans as long as they’re with YOU on the Left.

This post is all around sketchy.

  87. The Other Katherine says:

@irishserra: Ding ding ding! Got it in one.

  88. Amanda says:

She’s a little famewhore, but she has nice hair.

  89. Kaligula says:

I think we should have a Celebitchy meetup at a bar with a mechanical bull and cheer Kaiser on as she does her best to tame that beast….. Wouldn’t that be fun? (No anti-female or anti-gay epithets shall be uttered, of course. Just plain fun, which is what that night should have been for all involved, btw. The Palins frighten me deeply but harassment is harassment. That guy was a jerk.)

  90. Cleo says:

I’ve always wanted my own mechanical bull. How much do those cost?

  91. jay says:

Eh, not everyone has belittled Bristol nor supported the asshole; many have taken him to task as well. But it seems this entire conversation thread has descended into left vs. right, with no quarter given on the finer points of it.

Sounds familiar…and very Congressional at that.

Sigh. Doesn’t bode well for “can’t we all just get along”….

    Rueful *g*….

  92. Tazina says:

I would say the insults are probably equal. She is obviously homophobic and he hates the Palins. So they should call it a truce and move on without speaking of it again.

I think calling her mother a “media” whore would have been closer to the truth!

  93. Madisyn says:

I’m going to keep my opinion on the ‘whore/are you gay?’ comments to myself with the small exception to say, its a good thing that man, gay/straight/alien, that he didn’t call MY mother a whore. I just have to ask the question no one seems to have asked. . .Bristol was in a WEST HOLLYWOOD BAR, what did she expect the cliente to be? (For those not familiar, next to San Francisco, CA, West Hollywood, CA is arguably THE place where gay people tend to live and congregate). I know she’s a very sheltered, somewhat common girl but did she not realize the kind of bar she was in? I have a feeling the producers kind of set this up. Or at least hoped something like this would happen.

  94. Molly says:

Maybe I’m wrong, since english is not my first language, but FROM THE VIDEO:
    – she says he is gay because she “can tell”, like a gaydar.
    – After that she used the logic: GAY = “Don’t like my mom”
    .
She probably shares some homophobia with her mother anyway.

That dude is retarded (oops!) I can tell.

    .
    The mechanical bull 🙂

  95. Daisy424 says:

    Callumna:
    Well stated

  96. Mi says:

I’m sorry but am I the only one that thinks this is so VERY obviously staged?

  97. trh says:

What was homophobic? She asks if he is a homosexual. Impertinent and rude, but direct. Then saying “that’s why you don’t like my mom” is ambiguous and illogical, but again not homophobic. Maybe she is implying that he is a misogynist. Maybe she is referencing her mother’s politics. But she strikes me as doing her best. Her heckler is saying things that are indefensible. And he is old enough that he should handle alcohol better and mind what he says in public. If he’d said that about another man’s mother, he’d have gotten more than sharp words. Patriarchal b.s. I’m astonished people on this site see him as a victim. What a double-standard. She should have showed him what his teeth taste like.

    I can’t believe I’m defending a member of the Palin family…

  98. cprincess says:

This whole Palin family are grifters and as for the” face of abstinence” Bristol -what a joke…
The guy is my hero for telling her what so many of us think and if she doesnt like it then I suggest she stick to places where the audience have drunk the Palin coolaid and that certainly aint West Hollywood…
Anyway-who let this trash into California?
Is the pic your using from before her her chin rearranging surgery or does she still look like a fat ferret?? ha ha!

  99. Rudypatudie says:

Oh, please. The mothers not a whore. Kim kardassian is a whore, Paris Hilton os a whore, Charlie sheens chicks are whores.

And the guy is a homosexual. And you Dan identify homosexuals , sometimes, by their appearance and mannerisms. For gods sake. Get a grip. The homosexual was in the wrong, and Bristol was just defending her mother.

    Who here wouldn’t defendvher mother?

    This is a non issue.

  100. orion70 says:

    Team “assholes all round”

And Alice? I could maybe get on board with some of your argument about throwing gay out there as an insult if you weren’t throwing the “retarded” around in the same breath.

  101. I RUN NEW YORK says:

KUDOS TO BRISTOL, SHE HANDLED THE SITUATION WITH CLASS. That man is so hateful and a total coward for picking on a 20 year old girl. I’d like to see him tell another man, his mom is a whore. He’d be picking his jaw up of the floor.

  102. MissyA says:

I can’t get past the first 30 seconds. . . her face looks like a Real Housewife, and this dumb bitch is 5 years and 1 baby younger than me. . .

  103. Pirouette says:

Why? Why on Earth, when there are so many reasonable people to argue with Bristol Palin, are we exposed to this failure? I am so disappointed. Whoever said “staged” is probably right. Both lose.

  104. Alix says:

Bristol is the new Kate Gosselin; she used to be (almost) normal, but now she thinks she’s a bona-fide celebrity whose future is in reality TV. Delusional, both of them.

  105. jover says:

Excellent post callumna; the left is as blinded by their politics as the right.

  106. Tazina says:

Some are saying, including her co-star, Kyle Massey, that it was a set-up. However, Bristol knew nothing about it. What these reality shows will do for ratings….

  107. Christy says:

I just have to laugh at some on here..If some idiot called my mom a “whore” the least of his worry’s would be of me asking if he was gay and again he was. No his worries would have been having his teeth knocked down his throat so on that note I think Bristol handled it very well.

  108. Josie Wales says:

What a disrespectful piece of crap. I would have knocked his ass out. It doesn’t matter your political belief but be respectful. That shit just pisses me off. F’ing lunatic.

  109. Jo 'Mama' Besser says:

I’m confident that Malia has hear much worse about her mother, but should a confrontation volley of slurs should come her way from out of the ether, I’ll bet the never-far-behind Secret Service would have something to say. I also think that there is also a difference between saying terrible things about someone’s mother and saying terrible things about the First Lady. I don’t really understand the understand the impulse to weaponize the hypothetical, it feels as though a person gets judged as guilty, through non-existence should be compelled to apologize for being inadeaquadly opposed to prove of a point.

I’ve never seen a person gain and then squander sympathy this quickly

  110. PleaseICU says:

Hearing bad things about your parents is never fun. And she does have a right to respond to attacks on her mother. It’s just her way of doing it that was rank IMO.

The appropriate response to him wouldn’t be why, because you’re homosexual. It’s you’re a drunk a*shole attacking someone young enough to be your kid. And you say my mom is the evil one with issues? And then you walk away.

Then the entire thing is a non-starter, nothing for the Palin publicist to have to clean up the next morning.

Others in her family and she herself have a history of defaulting to homophobia to silence or discount those who say anything remotely negative about Sarah/the family’s own words and actions. The claim that she may have been homophobic wasn’t just pulled out of thin air here by the left-leaning media machine. It’s based on her own past reactions and words to others in similar contexts. And she opened herself up to the homophobia question by defaulting to making assumptions (albeit correct ones that she got lucky on this time) about the guy right out of the gate.

And engaging the guy as she did gave her bad PR and gave him exactly what he wanted which was attention and even more of a platform to bash her mother.

  111. BeckyR says:

Bull-gasm…now that is a piece of funny! Thank you for the early morning laugh out loud. Seriously.

  112. mamasnail says:

Staged. Obviously. Bristol and the screaming-pretend-gay-guy ran through the script a couple of times before they even entered the bar, and yet, they still weren’t convincing.

  113. OnTheCouch says:

Is she even old enough to be in a bar? Isn’t THAT the real story here? Rather than famewhore vs. famewhore?

  114. Dear Friends, Appearance of Bristol Palin in Bar might not be fundamental catastrophe but it does rule out mechanical Bull but Bristol’s pre or post orgasmic travel is Magnanimous despair could show her & her Mother Mrs. Sarah Palin divine thing to have their appearance for holding her post & their children of worth as Governor with her daughter along felt the Hope vainly flapped its tinsel wing to raise USA. They can have faults but as you know Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God , who takest away the sins of world , give us peace. Ultimately , They can tell : Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldst enter my roof; but say only the word , and my soul shall be healed. God blesses America.

  115. Victoria says:

Hypocrisy runs rampant for some. That’s all I ave to say about that.
