Gossip Cop e-mailed us this story, and my mouth is still hanging open. Tot Mom Casey Anthony, 25, is currently on probation in an undisclosed location in Florida for a check fraud case that’s not related to the murder of her two year-old daughter, Caylee. Casey was of course acquitted of all charges during that highly publicized six week trial, and was only convicted of four misdemeanor counts of providing false information to police, for which she got out with time served. Casey was thought to be in hiding for good reason, and there was a random sighting of her in Ohio before she was ordered to report to Florida for probation on that other case. Well now Casey wants us all to know how she’s doing, since we’re so concerned about her welfare, and has posted a video diary saying that she’s adopted a dog and bought a computer, of which she’s very proud. The video was recorded in October and just posted recently. Casey is sporting a blonde bob and glasses, and Gossip Cop reports that NBC has confirmed that it’s really her. Casey Anthony has taped a video diary entry that has surfaced on the Internet … and in the clip, she says she’s become a mother … to a brand new dog.
The 4.5 minute video is bizarre … with Casey sporting a short haircut and glasses … and rambling about various topics, including how happy she is to be out of jail.
In the clip — which Anthony says was taped on October 13, 2011 — she says, “I’m extremely excited … that I’ll be able to Skype and obviously keep a video log … and that I have something that I can finally call mine.”
She adds, “It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to call something mine.”
Anthony was released on July 17 after she was found not guilty of murdering her daughter Caylee. However she is on probation in Florida for check fraud.
In the clip, Anthony — who does not disclose her location — says, “I’ll be here for many many months … even if i get off probation early.”
Anthony continues, “Now I … in some ways … have someone to talk to even when I am by myself so I am not bothering the poor dog … who I have adopted and I love.”
It’s unclear why the video is finally surfacing now. Attempts to reach a rep for Anthony have been unsuccessful.

So did Casey just put out this video for her friends and did it somehow get released to the public now? I guess I’m not surprised to learn that she’s a self-pitying narcissistic person who has no clue or appreciation for how lucky she is to be out of prison. All she does is whine and appeal to people for their sympathy in this video. I feel sorry for her dog. She shouldn’t even be allowed to have plants. That’s about all I have to say. This video is f’ing ridiculous and this woman should be ashamed to show her face, much less put out a video blog.

Sorry, but I disagree. I followed this case very closely because, for me, it was a nonthreatening way to study a violent sociopath (since most of the socios we hear about are men victimizing women and those are the ones who give me sleepless nights). It was a fascinating case, the subject is definitely gossip worthy, and I appreciate the updates.

@Leticia…I know, I KNOW!!! Just recently the medical examiner that examined her daughter’s remains was on the news. She clarified it was her job to determine how Caylee died, not who was responsible.
Can’t remember the examiner’s name, but it was a woman…but she said something that made a lot of sense to me. She said although it wasn’t her job to determine who offed Caylee, that for parties responsible for 1st brining up the murder charges…they had to look at the “surrounding circumstances.” Ex., like who was responsible for Caylee at the time she went missing…who’s care was she in…& how responsible that person was…you know, that kind of stuff.
Anyway, your statement resonated w/me because there is just no amount of reason or rhyme how that jury let that bitch off. None! Casey’s lies, concocted stories….the amount of smoke and fog she tried to throw around to distract from the fact that SHE was/is culpable. Who else could have been responsible?

I’m in the middle of reading the book about the case that one of the prosecutors wrote. I cannot believe the idiotic jurors that sat on this case. I wonder how they sleep at night. I’m convinced they were the biggest bunch of idiots in the world.
I don’t understand why people blame the jury. The fault for her getting off was solely on the prosecution. They presented a case full of holes you could drive a truck through plus plenty of space for reasonable doubt. No juror could in good conscience convict someone based on the evidence presented, because in another scenario with similar evidence shown at trial the person accused could easily be innocent! It’s not the jury’s fault the prosecution sucked.

Pro-lifers will hate me for saying this, but honestly, if we encourage our kids who accidentally get pregnant and don’t want the kid to have an abortion, we wouldn’t have these issues. yes, yes adoption exists, but most people don’t want to go through 9 months of pregnancy all to give the baby away. I have never been pregnant because I take my bc religiously, but my parents always told me if I had an “accident” they will pay for my abortion. PLus, how can we hate this woman? I still believe she accidentally killed her little girl with choloform and her parents help remove the body. Yes, it was wrong, but when you have jacked up parents and a society that pushes you to have kids when you don’t want them, this occurs. I know plenty of people who have kids who are neglectful to them and people think its normal behavior. This is why people should have serious discussions and think of the consequences before having kids (and some of these people are married and one of the parents is neglectful to the kid). These people had kids because it was expected of them and not because they wanted them. This will keep occuring if our society continues to push that mentality. And I know some will say, give your kids away if you don’t want them, but its not easy because our society would look down upon on you if you decided a year or two down the road you weren’t cut out to be a mom or dad. So its a lose-lose situation.

I also read on your thread that you say if you were on the jury, you’d have found Casey not guilty, as well. I don’t go with emotions towards this case, I have no children nor do I want any. Manslaughter sure, but not what they tried her on. I can’t believe no one said anything about my comments on people I know who are neglectful to their own children and had em for their parents or society. Yes, she was tried and convicted in the media but the jury had to actually consider evidence presented for the particular charges made. The scary thing is that people immediately started talking about killing jurors as well as the acquitted Casey (as you see in the comments here).
My guess is that lesser charges might have stuck. Very likely it was coverup for an accidental death though due to very risky behavior and neglect. Trying to prove it was premeditated murder failed, quite likely because that wasn’t what it was. Casey is very disturbed and disturbing, and I would also worry about that dog… But she was acquitted by a jury in a court of law and I wish people would just get over themselves about it. Nancy Grace is an awful person and a hatemonger. She is an example of media revving up a frenzied mob for profit. The child’s death is a tragedy but letting the likes of Nancy Grace decide the verdict or tormenting her bizarre mother and threatening the jury won’t bring her back. The same people are likely to be horrified by such things as “honor killings” in other places, but this response makes as little sense.

I think CA is guilty as hell, but the prosecution was not able to prove how her daughter died, or that her mother killed her.
The DA should have gone for manslaughter instead. I feel CA would have been convicted on that charge.
The Defense said the death was an accidental drowning (which I do not believe) but here is the rub… They, her defense, admitted this SO why isn’t she in jail for the criminal disposal of the remains? She should be in jail for that at least & I don’t understand why she isn’t
I heard several different theories as to how Caylee died,suffocation,drowning, blunt trauma injuries, etc.
I did not watch the whole trial, so I don’t know whether CA ever admitted to leaving Caylees’ body where it was found.
Even though CA is not in prison, she will be an outcast for the rest of her life. I doubt any respectable person will want anything to do with her, and once her notoriety fades, she will fade away also.
We may hear occasional stories about her being arrested for some crime she committed to keep herself in the news. (Something along O.J. lines.)
From what I remember the defense alluded that it was George who disposed of Caylee’s remains. Not Casey.

I didn’t follow the trial, so I don’t know if these things came up or not, but how did she get away with not being convicted of keeping a rotting corpse in her trunk and then disposing of the body by the side of the road? Isn’t there something about a law against desecration of a corpse and even LITTERING (of the body)?

Kim, she was not found “innocent”. She was found not guilty.The prosecution did not prove CA killed her daughter.
I feel she is guilty, but the jurors had guidelines they had to follow.

I want to know what’s up with all the ban requests around here lately? This seems like an excellent post to address this because opinions seem to be, as I said, almost unanimous, but really I could probably just close my eyes and point and that story would have a comment attached requesting a boycott on that subject. To me, it really seems like some of you guys are getting waaayy too sensitive; if you don’t like it, don’t click. It’s terrible manners to visit a blog and start demanding that the blog owner write about or not write about certain subjects, and that’s what some posters here are doing. I’m guessing this behavior arises from an inappropriate sense of ownership. But guess what? this is CB’s blog- not yours, not mine. She (and Kaiser and Bedhead of course) can cover whichever stories she chooses.
Gah, sorry about the rant, but (obviously) these behaviors really bother me. I think that all of the writers here really go out of their way to create a fun, humorous (and, yes, often very sheltered) environment, but if they want to post about darker subject matter, who are you to chide or berate them? We are all guests here.

Didn’t need NBC to confirm it was her. Unfortunately I watched the case too closely, I’ll never forget her face. But a fascinating case to study. She won’t change, she can’t. What she is she is to her core. Not many people give me the genuine chills. She elicts dark thoughts.
I understand the calls for a ban and I wouldn’t be unhappy if it was installed however there’s part of me that wants the public to know what she’s up to. Because if people forget then she’ll be free. Poor wee Caylee. Don’t forget.

I agree that it is totally bizarre that she would post a video diary (and that anyone, especially a gossip site would run it) and she must be, a best, a horrible person.
However, I still remember the Florida District Attorney making the post-trial press conference and clearly stating that they had eleven other child murder cases that were ongoing. So unfortunately, Caylee isn’t even close to being a unique case. If you’re going to post hatreds on the internet about someone you think killed their child, hoping that their heads get blown off, you should also be aware and be able to post about all the other cases, because by caring so deeply about one case, you’re helping to invalidate the suffering of all the other victims.
Besides that, I agree that there is really no reason to give Casey any airtime.
Just wanted to add to those requesting a ban on any posts on this individual, unless it is to say that she is dead. I would rather not know what she is doing or anything else about her.
..but it wasn’t her that let her off, it was the court system..so anger should go there if there is fault..you would want the same protection if it was you that looked 100% guilty..(not endorsement of her being innocent, but if the courts said she is then too bad she is)
The courts didn’t say she was innocent. They said she was found not guilty. There’s a difference. There wasn’t enough evidence to prove her guilty, but she certainly wasn’t proven innocent.
I’d just like to add that on smaller (relatively) sized gossip sites I don’t have a problem with these posts. I enjoy being able to see who agrees with me about this witch (IMHO) and maybe hear a little bit of the ‘other side’ no matter how sick it makes me. If you’re reading this, Kaiser, CB, or Bedhead, please don’t stop writing posts about her! Don’t pick up the pace either but you catch my drift. I would have a problem if she gets a book deal or a high-profile paid interview though. Shit would go down.
