If you’ve been wondering what the yummy John Corbett has been up to since his character, Aidan the sensitive furniture maker, was dumped by Carrie Bradshaw on “Sex and the City,” don’t shed too many tears for him. John has been shacking up with Bo Derek, whom he met on a blind date in 2002. The couple has kept their relationship very low key over the years, but Bo finally discussed their life together in a recent interview.
Bo Derek has broken her silence over her relationship with Sex And The City star John Corbett, describing their love as ‘a gigantic bonus’.
The 10 actress, 51, was widowed in 1998 when her husband, film director John Derek died of heart disease.
After five years alone, Derek started dating former Northern Exposure actor Corbett in 2002 after they met on a blind date.
The pair soon moved in together and are now sharing a 10-acre ranch in Santa Ynez, California.
The animal rights advocate has open the doors of the couple’s ranch in the new issue of Hello! magazine and describes how she found happiness again after coming to terms with the death of John.
She tells the magazine: ‘I was alone for five years. Having a love is a gigantic bonus in life, but I wasn’t unhappy when I was single, either.’
Speaking of Corbett, who is four years her junior, Derek enthused: ‘He’s just fun, so much fun. I’m very happy now.’
From the few photos I’ve seen of John and Bo together, I must say they really look great together. I am more than a little envious of Bo – first of all, there is no way she looks anywhere near 51 years old, and she swears she’s never had plastic surgery, although she wouldn’t rule it out. Second, she gets to snuggle up to that giant hunk every night. As far as I’m concerned, John was the real “Mr. Big” of Sex and the City.

I used to drive back and forth between western Washington and Montana a couple times a year. They filmed Northern Exposure in Roslyn, Washington, about 15 minutes off I-90 and everytime I went back or forth I would stop there, even slept in my car behind main street a couple times. I have a ton of pics of the place… the bar (from the outside, the inside scenes were filmed elsewhere), Roslyn’s Cafe (which was actually Roslyn Cafe, they added the ‘s) and the radio station. But my favorite picture of all is me and John Corbett. OMG, I was so in love with him. And he was posing for pictures and signing autographs outside Peg’s store. *SIIIIIIGHHHH* I have the biggest, stupidest grin on my face in that picture! I was in HEAVEN.
I was there when they were filming the episode with the cricus tube people, too…. if anyone remembers NoEx, lmao.
It surprises me it’s taken this long for them to talk about their relationship, I remember hearing about it years ago. I was sad and knew there was no way I could compete with Bo Derek. LMAO

I think the skin around her eyes is a little taut to be completely natural, especially after a lifetime in the sun; but perhaps she is very religious about toning creams and non-invasive electric/laser treatments? But who cares? she looks fab – she’s aging beautifully and has gotten a lot of character to her face.

John Derek, her late husband was old enough to be her father (30 years older!). His first wife was Ursula Andress, his second wife Linda Evans(Dynasty) – note Bo’s striking resemblence to both? The rumour was she was actually Ursula and John’s daughter….
Anyway, I don’t really believe it but its a fun theory.
Yeah he’s totally hot and I think she has had surgery for sure. He does look a LOT younger than her. But she’s a lucky lady!

Ya, she looks good – thanks to PLASTIC SURGERY! You see that forehead? Not a single wrinkle on it. Mine hasn’t looked like that since I was about twenty. Which tells me she’s had botox at least.
I guess everybody has amnesia about all the press for the movie, “10”. John Derek spotted her because she resembled his wives, Ursula Andress and Linda Evans, but was much much younger. He dumped Ursula for Linda, then dumped Linda for 16-year-old Kathleen Collins. He was in his 40s and they moved overseas to avoid statutory rape charges. He kept wanting younger versions of the same type. He changed her name and reportedly proceeded to “guide” Bo into resembling his wife Ursula; rumors were that he had her remove ribs to have a smaller waist. Either way he was a svengali type.
I used to so LOVE John Corbett on Northern Exposure. I would melt whenever he showed onscreen and I waited for his little radio signoffs. Until I saw him on a chat show – it may have been Letterman – wow. What an idiot. I don’t know if he was stoned or what, but damn, he is D-U-M-B. The character he played on Northern Exposure was so savvy and hip. But damn, he is not that guy at all. No more crush, I can’t stand morons. 😯
I always mix John Corbett up with Paul Rudd! But I’m pretty sure John Corbett wins, though I like them both. I loved him in My Fat Greek Wedding.
Aidan was my favorite of Carrie’s boyfriends, though I eventually came around to Mr. Big. Aidan was just so incompatible with Carrie.
Ummmm, sorry, not buying that she’s not had plastic surgery. For starters, her eyebrows are way higher over her eyes than when she was young, indicating a brow-forehead lift. Her eyes also have been worked on and her skin looks botoxed or peeled. She thankfully didn’t engorge her lips so she’s somewhat recognizable. I also think there has been nasal refinement and neck work. This is a fair skinned blue eyed woman and they almost never age well but show signs of decline early. Let her think she’s fooled everyone if it makes her happy.
BTW Bo Derek was never the great beauty that Ursula Andress was!
I’ve seen recent photos , her face is all lined . She could have easily gotten rid of them but she didnt so kudos to her . And also kudos if she had her eyes done , see ? Damned if they do and damned if they dont . WHO CARES . She looks GREAT for 54 .
If she didnt , she would be on the “ugly celebrity ” websites. These celebrities cannot win. And Gwyneth , hon , aparently you are too young to know she HAD her nose done before “10” . I saw the before and after nose pics as a teenager in a magazine , it wasnt big to begin with. How much more REFINED could she possibly GET her nose ? It’s a pencil point and has been that way since her first nose job.
