Hopefully that rumor that Kendra Wilkinson didn’t have to sleep with Hugh Hefner really was true. Because Kendra’s fiancé, the Philadelphia Eagles’ Hank Baskett, has described Hefner as “like a father” to Kendra. And that would be all-out creepy. Baskett says Hefner has such a paternal role in Kendra’s life that he decided to get a blessing both from Kendra’s mom and Hef. How sweet and old fashioned.
There are no hard feelings between Hugh Hefner and NFL star Hank Baskett, who is engaged to Hef’s onetime gal pal, Playboy bunny Kendra Wilkinson.
“Hef is like a father to her so he’s going to be the one to give her away,” Baskett told an ABC affiliate in Philadelphia Tuesday. “That’s why I wanted his blessings and her mom’s blessing.”
Hefner, who starred with Wilkinson in the reality show The Girls Next Door, broke the news of Wilkinson’s engagement to the Philadelphia Eagles player earlier this month.
Baskett complimented his bride-to-be for her compassion, saying, “Kendra has one of the biggest hearts and that’s one of the things that really drew me to her.”
As for what keeps them together, “Both of us like to stay home and wear sweats [more] than go out and party,” says Baskett. “Ever since I met her, this is the happiest I’ve ever been in my life. And every day she does something else that makes me fall in love with her.”
The couple plan to wed at the Playboy mansion in June.

I have no idea how in the world Kendra acted like she was dating someone who felt parental to her. Or grandparental, in this case. Kendra always positioned herself as far away from Hef in photographs. I went through years of them for a story a while ago and could only find one where the two were side-by-side. I assumed it was because she somehow found Hef distasteful, but maybe it was because she didn’t want to be associated with him in any romantic/relationship sense. Though that would be a great reason not to be one of his girlfriends.
I’m guessing the wedding will be featured on the Girls Next Door. I’m sad to admit it but I’m pretty excited to see Hef walk Kendra down the aisle, and all the other debauchery that I’m sure will accompany a Playboy mansion wedding.

What a tacky, low class wedding it will be. Kendra has a grandfather, why isn’t he going to walk her down the aisle? Is her real father deceased? Wh o would want a wedding at that old, run down, passe mansion anyway? It may have been cool in the 60’s, but thats about it.

Hef is like a father to Kendra. That is just nasty. I have seen a few episodes of The Girls Next Door and I have seen Kendra made sexual innuendos toward Hef, I’ve seen her kiss him and flash her goodies at him. Kendra must have a twisted idea of what a father figure is. These kinds of behavors are not what you do when you think of someone as father figure. I though Hef was a bit of a perv for being with those young girls. Now I find Kendra to be the pervert to flash her tits at her stand in daddy.
I’m pretty sure the picure-taking line up is some sort of Hef gf hierarchy. I think I remember hearing it on Howard Stern or reading it somewhere. Holly was his #1 girlfriend, so she always stood nearest. Bridget was his #2, so she stood on the other side. Kendra would stand on either side.
This dates back to the seven girlfriend days when his then #1 and #2 stood on either side as well. Holly was dating him back then too, so she was pretty far out on the edge. As the gfs dwindled, Holly moved closer and closer until she was bizarely “recruited” to the number one spot by the outgoing number one.
I think the #1 and #2 was determined by nothing more than the length Hef was dating them, not preference or anything (at least in the seven gf days; for the GND era it seemed like Holly was the only one he was ACTUALLY dating).
I don’t know if this whole strange totem pole lineup thing is dictated by Hef or tradition or what, but I CAN tell you it wasn’t by Kendra’s doing that she was always positioned furthest away. She was told to do it that way.
Further, refering to them as “number ones” and “number twos” also seems to be dictated by Hef or tradition or handlers or the mag or something as well. I once saw this blog mistakenly refer to Holly as being “long CONSIDERED Hef’s number one girlfriend” and thought “she’s not CONSIDERED his number one, she just IS his number one”. Lots of strange logistics. Maybe it has to do with their fake girlfriend contracts.

On the tv show there was a time that Kendra mentioned that she was at the house because Hef was there to help her get through a bad time. I never believed that she was involved with him romantically at all.

Even if she never slept with Hef, viewers were led to infer they had. And that is just disgusting. No, I don’t think she ever fit in and I never understood why Hef tolerated her immaturity the way he did. But getting married at the mansion with him giving her way, former sexual relationship or not, just seems really creepy. You mean she had NO other choice in her wedding plans?

Hef is 82. I don’t think they had many ‘relations’ either, if at all (although I believe Holly and Bridget did). I’ve been to Kendra’s myspace and noticed a few years ago that she wrote on it that she wanted to be married and have kids by age 24…and I was like…how’s that going to happen? But guess what? Kendra’s getting married next June? She turns 24 on June 12, 1985. (The only reason I remember the exact date is because its the same date as my b-day except I’m a year earlier). So Kendra isn’t as dumb as you think! She had a plan! She went from being an allegedly drug addicted dental assistant moonlighting stripper from San Diego, to a famous Playboy personality who is about to marry a rich football player. Boo-yah.
