Kanye West got mad and crashed the stage ranting when he didn’t win best video at the MTV Europe VMAs in 2006 and now he’s mad that he did win one this year. You just can’t please the guy. He somehow thinks that by winning “best urban act” he unfairly edged out Lil Wayne.
[At] his album launch in London Nov. 11, [Kanye West] blasted MTV for fixing their award shows.
West reported shouted something along the lines of, “Britney Spears over Rihanna? Are you serious? I mean f—ing Jared Leto? He’s my boy but he shouldn’t have won over some of those other artists. I won nothing last year and I’d brought out ‘Stronger.’ Then this year, just because I was there, I won best urban act. This was Lil’ Wayne’s year.”

Band The Ting Tings shared West’s dressing room at the MTV Europe Awards, and said that they were appalled to find that West had peed all over the carpet. It’s unclear whether they actually witnessed him relieving himself on the floor or if they just assumed it was him because the pee was there. Either way, it’s disgusting, and someone must have done it. Now that we know that Kanye is such a sore winner there seems to be more circumstantial evidence that he was the one who whipped it out to mark his childish anger at being honored.
Meanwhile (literally) pissed off Kanye is overestimating his place in history just a little bit. Kanye calls himself the “voice of this generation” and claims that he’s ahead of Justin Timberlake in the music game because Timberlake “went on vacation” while he made another album:
”I realize that my place and position in history is that I will go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade, I will be the loudest voice,” the Associated Press quotes him as saying on Wednesday in London. ”It’s me settling into that position of just really accepting that it’s one thing to say you want to do it and it’s another thing to really end up being like Michael Jordan.”
Yes, Kanye believe he is the Air Jordan of music, a role he says could’ve been nabbed by someone like Justin Timberlake, if he’d been more productive with his recording.
”There were people who had the potential to do it but they went on vacation, so when Justin went on vacation I made albums,” he says. ”And it just came out to be that.”

Kanye may have it right that he’s the “loudest voice” of this generation, but like a car alarm going off in the neighborhood you may hear it but it kind of blends into the background and becomes just a minor annoyance.

What’s with all these mainstream pop stars/rappers with the slightest amount of talent thinking it gives them the right to say the shit they do?
I mean seriously, Kanye, I guess I can call you a pretty good rapper, especially by comparison to some of the other rappers I’ve heard, but the keyword here is “by comparison”.
I’m sure you’re not THE best rapper in all history, and you really should express more gratitude, especially because you’re damn lucky there isn’t any competition out for you at the moment, because there’s probably some broke kid who doesn’t know any famous rappers that’s OMG more talented than you are!
What most of these mainstream rappers and pop stars such as Kanye West with an overaggerated focus on their advantage of being able to sing/rap better than their peers fail to understand is that they’re not actually famous for their talent, but because of their connections.
MTV and co. doesn’t give a rat’s ass about you without your flashy music videos and whose dick you sucked.

Kanye is so annoying!!! One minute he’s cursing that he didn’t win and now he’s cursing out people because he did win. His music is good but that whole attitude is just so annoying!!! He should just stick to wearing that zipped up outfit so that we don’t have to see his face!!!

Voice of a generation? His blogs are unintelligible, whenever he speaks he gloats (rather than say anything substantial or interesting about anyone or anything). So I’m gonna go out on a limb and say Kanye’s a little off base with this one. What a douche.

That last pic right there is a good look for him. That said, I don’t think he was being a sore winner or whatever. He’s actually saying Lil Wayne should have won instead of him and that he did not deserve to win just because he showed up or because they’re trying to make up for not having honored him the year before. The man has a point. So yeah, he runs of at the mouth alot and his ego is ginormous but he also calls it like he sees it.

I had the joy of ‘bouncing’ one of the stops on his “College Drop Out” tour; as a five foot tall female, I got to be a go-fer back stage. His entourage completely wrecked almost an entire floor of a 130 year old building! It was disguisting, and he was there in the middle of it. I have never seen someone so full of themselves that he was completely incapable of considering that he was a guest of a respected institution. Needless to say, he hasn’t been invited back, and I daresay he never will.
And his show? It royally sucked. Even some of his fans walked out.
